Command prompt showing 2 users

well... i have been using OS X for quite a while now. Recently i thought of learning UNIX commands in command prompt... so while learning, I came acroos a commant that shows all the users logged in - " who | wc -l " when i typed this command in the prompt, it said that 2 users wee logged in...

Your iPad probably might to be serviced or replaced. I don't think that there is much in the way of troubleshooting that you can do other than to restore to factory settings. You will end a computer running iTunes in order to restore to factory settings. If you can't attempt this for whatever reason, make an appointment at an Apple Store and ask for their help.

Command Prompt change to user directory

I am a mac user who is use to the Terminal. On Windows I am trying to set the command prompt to always start at: c:\Users\Username> instead of C:\Windows\System32>
I have found a lot of win2000 directions and Win7 but have not been able to find the directions for Win8.1
What are the steps to change this?

3850 command to show wireless user dACL

Hi,
I am using 3850 and 5760 with converged access mode.
There is also ISE to provide dACL for wireless user.
In 3850, I can issue "show access-list" to see the dACL from ISE.
But I can't be sure which ACL apply to which user when there are more than one dACL.
I have tried command like "show wireless client mac-address MAC detail" but didn't see anything related.
I can only achieve that by checking logs on ISE.
Is there any command I can do for this purpose?
3850 and 5760 version : 3.3.0
ISE version : 1.2

I know that for switch IOS the command "show authentication session interface INTERFACE" shows the dACL that is applied to this port. I think the new command for the IOSXE devices is "show access-session mac H.H.H detail" is the corresponding one which should show the dACL that was applied to that MAC-address.

How do I add a website to the popup blocker exception list using a command prompt?

I have many users with Firefox 2. I need a specific web site to be allowed for popups if their popup blocker is turned on. I need to be able to execute this command in a script which will run from a command prompt when the user logs in.

The link you sent gave me all the details I needed for Firefox 2. The hostperm.1 file is a text file. I was able to use the Copy command in a script to combine hostperm.1 file with a text file containing the website I needed.
Firefox 3 looks like it uses a database for that function, so I think you're right that it's not do-able in that version.

Wait for command prompt - Enter-PSSession

Enter-PSSession -ComputerName ServerName
Restart-Service DNS -PassThru
Exit-PSSession
I am trying to restart the DNS Server service on several remote machines using a foreach loop. The problem is the the script does not wait until the command prompt shows up after executing the "Enter-PSSession -ComputerName ServerName".
I have not been able to fine a way to tell the script to wait for the prompt before continuing the script. Thank you for any assistance that can be provided.

You can use
Invoke-Command rather than entering a PS-Session.
Something like this may do what you need:
$servers = @("Server1.fqdn.example.com","Server2.fqdn.example.com","Server3.fqdn.example.com")
$scriptblock = "Restart-Service DNS"
foreach ($server in $servers) {
Invoke-Command -ScriptBlock $scriptblock -ComputerName $server
Replace the server names in $servers with your actual server names. This assumes of course you have PSRemoting enabled which you would need for the PSSessions.

After import completed successfully,i have bounce the apache server by connecting functional administrator and clear the cache(it si fine or not),
it is working fine,actually i never do this,i directly bounce the apache.

Hiding the command prompt when executing bat file

Hi,
I hava a bat file which contains following
java -jar MyJar.jar
When I execute the bat file, the jar file is executed. But a command prompt also opens along with it. I dont want to display the command prompt to the user. Is there any way to hide that command prompt ?

If not then
insted of creating a batch file create a form file in visual basic and write following code in it
shell "java -jar MyJar.jar"
Endand then create its exe file.
It will just launch your jar file and then exit.

Open command prompt via applet?

Hi guys
I am expecting this code to open a command prompt on the user's PC. I have the same "cmd.exe /k" in a test.bat file which does what I expect. This code, however, doesnt seem to be opening a command prompt, but the applet is launching fine. Any ideas?

Hi, that code for opening the cmd through n applet is great and works perfectly....
Does anyone know how to then enter a filename into this code, which will open the cmd, and then open another file?

Domain User profile displays special character "?" in command prompt.

In our organization, there is one domain user in his profile it shows special character "?". which is stoping JAVA application to Run.
When you see it in windows explorer, c:\users\username. I am not able to see any special character.
But when i am login to command prompt and check it shows c:\users\username?> Here at the end of the user name i am seeing "?". Which is giving problem to run JAVA application. I checked user profile ( Firstname, lastname , givenname)
and there i couldnot able to see any space or special character. The only thing i can see in adsiedit user properties in "TextEncodedORAddress" attribute it shows
C=US;A= ;P=abc;O=Exchange;S=User?;G=xyz;I=M;
When i check this properties i can see the same in exchange user properties in X400 address.
I try to edit and remove the ? but again it is creating new address with removing ? but reply as it shows with the user name with special character. As i dont know from where it is getting the special character.
Any help for this will be appreciated...

I used a terminal command in Lion to show the LIbrary in the Users folder, and now the Finder is behaving erratically, hanging up and becoming almost paralyzed. Can anyone tell me how to reverse the terminal command for show Library. The command I used was:
chflags nohidden ~/Library/

Showing the Library folder will not cause the problem you've described. Nevertheless:
chflags hidden ~/Library
will hide the folder. To reveal the folder:
chflags nohidden ~/Library
Note, there is no "/" after Library.

Can I change user name after running essbase from command prompt??

I run essbase from command prompt and during this activity I was asked to give user name and password, but by mistake I put wrong user name and now wolud like to chanege it.

now I was able to connect to easbase from planning, I ve created sample aplication and initialize it but cannot connect to Eas to download data for sample application. After I run the validation there is now only one error displayed:
Essbase / Essbase Administration Services
FAILED Web App Availability of web application context (POL-MPIKULSKI 10080, eas)
Error: com.hyperion.cis.utils.BadResponseCodeException: Bad response code: 404
Recommended Action: Check application is started
I tried to start the eas from start>programs>epm system>essbase>administration services>start administration services(java embeded) but it didnt help.
can I start in in different way??

User with admin rights can't access files through the command prompt

I have a strange situation where I have 2 users both setup exactly the same with admin rights on a 2003 (32 bit) server through an AD group membership, but one can do everything as expected but the other can't.
The one that can't is trying to execute a program is a command prompt and keeps getting access denied or invalid directory when trying to cd into the folder. I double and tripled check the permissions and they are correct, this person should have
full admin. In fact I did a effective permissions through explorer and it states full rights. Along those lines this person can also access the folder in question through explorer just not a command prompt.
Has anyone seen this before ? and if so what can be done about it.

Can the user execute the program through explorer? In Windows Server 2003, the Users group does not have Read and Execute permissions to the command processor (Cmd.exe).

Old IP address showing at command prompt

I setup OS X server 10.4 using a static IP address. Recently I changed the IP address. Name Server in the Network configuration is correct. DNS also is running correctly. But when I login to the server using SSH, at the command prompt, I still see the old static IP address. I don't recollect the file name where the initial static IP address is stored. What is the file, where is it ?

In Terminal.app do:
sudo changeip /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 <oldip> <newIP> <oldhostname> <newhostname>
Then open the 'Sharing' system prefpane and change the name to the FQDN of the machine. Then click the 'Edit' button. The name should automatically change to <hostname>.local. If it doesn't, change it to, <hostname>.local. Close the prefpane. Open Terminal.app, the name at the prompt should now be, by the default shell config, the new host name -it could be something else if you have changed the prompt in your shell profile.
