Command to know the Memory utlization

Is there is a command to know the Memory utilization for a particular process ID. I can get this for USERNAME basis using prstat -a.

  • Is it possible to know the memory location of a variable in java

    Hai all,
i want to know the memory location in which a particular variable is stored. is it possible to know in java.

I just wanted to test the internal processing of the
string variable when we want to change the value of a
string variable. i heard that the variable will point
to a new reference once we change the value of a
string variable. so to test it out i want to know the
memory location of a variable before and after
changing a string variable. You can use the operator == to perform similar tests.
    String a;
    String b = a ="hello";
    a += "world";
    if(a==b)
         System.out.println("They are the same object");
    else
         System.out.println("A new object was created.");

  • How to know the memory

    Hi
Following is the output of sh ver of cisco 2621 router. There is two place saying about the memory
cisco 2621 (MPC860) processor (revision 0x600) with 53248K/12288K bytes of memory.
    another
32K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.
what is the actual memory size? is it 64 or 32?
Can i install an IOS which minimum requires 64Mb memory in this Router?
    #sh ver

How to know the memory ?
cisco 2621 (MPC860) processor (revision 0x600) with 53248K/12288K bytes of memory.
when you get the above output from sh ver,
simply add 53248k + 12288k and always devide by 1024.
    e.i
    53248k + 12288k / 1024 = 64
64MB is your total memory in your router

  • Hi how can i know the memory allocation of occurs 10 or 100

    hii
    experts,
how can i know how much memory is being allocated for for occurs n(10 ,100)
for an internal table declaration.is there any tcode to know that??
    plz help.
    thank you

    Hi,
    welcome to sdn,
Occurs 10 means the internal table allocates space for 10 rows initially....after filling these rows it allocates for the next 10 lines...similarly occurs 100.
But if you give occurs 0 ,the internal table allocates 8kb space initially...
these are the major difference....i think you can check the memory allocation of the internal table in the debugging mode instead of using a separate transaction...
    <b>Reward points if helpful,</b>
    regards,
    Jinesh

  • Command to see the memory ,cpu etc.

Anyone can tell me the command to see the memoery usage ,cpu usage etc ,like the 'top ' command in unix.
    Please reply.

Assuming you're using Solaris 8 or above try prstat
prstat -am will show more or less the same output as TOP.
There's also commands such as swap -l and swap -s, vmstat, mpstat, iostat which can be used to monitor performance as well.

  • How to know the memory used by db

    Hi,
Is there any transaction which tells me the exact memory used by Db (MS SQL)?
If not is there any utilities I can go in and find out the Db memory used?
I remember seeing the screen which says:
    Server
    Memory Available MBytes = xxxxx
How can i get this? I dont know how to get to it, but i know its possible.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Actually I suppose that, we cant definitely say that how much memory the database is using because, the frequently used tables are always buffered and less frequently used table are not buffered or partially buffered.
However when a table is accessed, it brought to the buffer and then only seen in the GUI. Suppose consider an instance, some tables are accessed once a month or once a quarter, during that time it buffer used by the total number of tables will be more. than the normal instances.

  • Is there a command to know the current throughput fo an IPS

    Hi guys
I need to get some information from my CISCO IPS. I need to get the current throughput from the IPS but I cannot find any command that could bring such information.
If somebody know how to get this information it will be great.
    Regards!

I had a script that would log in, run a "show stat analysis" twice, 60 seconds apart. Then it would pull the byte count from the interfaces, subtract the smaller number from the larder, device by 60 (seconds) and multiply by 8 (bytes to bits).
Results in b/s for each interface.

  • Need command to know the hardware model

    Dear all,
I need a command which give me the result of configuration of servers, Hardisks information,
    raid information and processors capacity.
    Thanks

You need several commands to display such informations.
configuration of servers : # prtdiag
    Hardisks information : # echo "" | format
RAID information : # raidctl (if you have a RAID HW controller)
    # metastat (if you use SVM or SDS)
    # zpool list (if you use ZFS file systems)
    processors capacity. : # psrinfo -v

  • Commands to Know the System Info

On UNIX, how can we get system information such as CPU, LISTENER etc related to oracle database. Please provide commands.

    CPU
Different unix flavour has different method to get that information, for example, on Linux
    more /proc/cpuinfoon Solaris
    /usr/sbin/prtconfLISTENER
That's not OS dependent, it's Oracle related

  • Any System Command to get/know the Iexplore.exe path ???

    Hi,
I want to know, where is the Iexplore.exe file in my system.
Is there any System command to know the IE .exe path
    like System.getProperty("os.name") ??
or manually we need to check all files ?
    Thanks for Advance.

I think there is no 'system command' provided in Java or Win32 APIs.
But if you need it, use some of third-party Java class libraries that can handle (read or write) Windows Registry and check some of the related keys that contain informations you want.
('HKCR\htmlfile\shell\open\command' key contains the current default html browser for example. You'd better to refer MSDN to find out more.)

  • How do you remove back up data from the memory storage? my storage data states that i have over 80gb of data used for back ups and i dont know why as i use a external hard drive as a time machine .now my 250gb flash storage is nearly full

how do you remove back up data from the memory storage? my storage data states that i have over 80gb of data used for back ups and i dont know why as i use a external hard drive as a time machine .now my 250gb flash storage is nearly full.. HELP!

When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as  Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.
See this support article for some simple ways to free up storage space.

  • How to know the amount of ora 11g page-out  memory (sga and pga)?

How to know the amount of oracle 11g page-out memory ( sga and pga) in the SunSolaris 10 Unix and Linux.
I need to know how many oracle memory are being page-out ( all and for a one oracle server process).
    thanks

You can monitor the paging with vmstat or sar commands.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b32009/tuning.htm#sthref500
You can also get the paging information on OEM home page if configured for your database.
But I don't know if there exists a method with which one can find out how much memory per session/server process is getting paged out.

  • After I import a movie file from the camera memory card, Imovie 10.0.1 acts as if the memory card is empty though I know it isn't.... I can't import that file to iMovie again.. is that the way it worksnow?  Thank you, Filippo

On IMac 10.9  After I import a movie file from the camera memory card to Imovie 10.0.1 it acts as if the memory card is empty though I know it isn't.... I can't import that file to iMovie again.. is that the way it works now?  Anyone know?  Thanks, Filippo

I would like to know this too. I imported a lot of files, then Imovie crashed. I went back in and they are not in imovie at all.
I reconnected the camcorder to import again and though they are still on the camcorder, I no longer see them in the available list of files to import. I'm sure there is some sort of simple setting somewhere that reveals all files even if it thinks they are imported.
    Thanks

  • Does anyone know how to display (in LabVIEW) the memory use during execution of an image and data acquisition VI to predict when it is time to cease the acquisition to prevent the program crashing?

Does anyone know how to display (in LabVIEW) the memory use during execution of an image and data acquisition VI to predict when it is time to cease the acquisition to prevent the program crashing?
I am acquiring images and data to a buffer on the edge of the while loop, and am finding that the crashing of the program is unpredictable, but almost always due to a memory saturation when the buffers gets too big.
    I have attached the VI.
    Thanks for the help
