Commit during Call form,open form?

If i open another form using call/open form command and exit out of the form which is over the base form with some code, what will happen to the data in the base form.
How can i commit from the call /open form the base form.
is there any property that needs to set up.
What is the default behaviour in case of New form, open form , call form.

New Form:

OPEN_FORM
The function module OPEN_FORM opens form printing. You must call this function module before you can use any other form function (WRITE_FORM, START_FORM, CONTROL_FORM...).
You need not specify a form name. If you omit the name, you must use the function module START_FORM to open a form before starting the output.
You must end form printing by using the function module CLOSE_FORM. Otherwise, the system does not print or display anything.
Within a program, you can use several OPEN_FORM.. CLOSE_FORM pairs. This allows you to write output to several different spool requests from within one program.

COMMIT FROM OPEN FORM

I'm using Developer suite 9i and i've created a form on which I have several buttons that when pressed it "Open_forms, activate) a particular form that selects and inserts data into the form based on a global variable. This Opened form goes against a separate table but the inserted data is mostly inserted into the form from the original form that is still open. The problem is, when I use "commit_form" on the "Open form", it says saved, but then when I exit the form, it says it couldn't insert into the table. It appears to be trying to insert data from the original form into it's tables also. This I don't want or need to happen. Any clue???

can u more clearly explain ur problem. whati understand is that u are opening a form from another form. on the opened form u r saving some data. But, after that u r not able to put ur problem properly. So, plz mention more clearly.
One thing u keep in mind that when u commit through the opened form by using OPEN_FORM Built in then commit will take place in both forms i.e. the form which is being called and the form which is calling other form. To avoide this functionality u should use NEW_SESSION parameter in OPEN_FORM or use CALL_FORM instead.

Object Referenced Error When calling the Windows Form during Runtime

Hi,
I am getting Object reference errors when running windows form during runtime. In debugging mode in MS Visual studio 2005, I am not getting this error. I'm calling the window form from menu and called the window in a thread as suggested in one of forums . I don't see anyone in the forum mentioned this problem I have. To open Report in Maximize form when calling it from FORM

Dear All,
I am facing a problem related to Report.When a report is called
from the FORM, this report is not openned in MAXIMIZE form. How
will it be openned in Maximize form.

Open Form and code after call

Hi
My application has forms which calls other forms on a button click.
I have my code like this
1. CALL_FORM(.....
2. After cal form there is some code which need to execute after the called form is closed.
Now I am making the app multi window and so is changing call form with OPEN FORM. Now I see that the step 2, ie the code after the OPEN FORM is not executing.
Why is this so? Any workarounds?

I am not sure if this is of any help, but at least may help to clarify what is going on...
From the Forms online help:
When you open a form with ACTIVATE specified (the default), the opened form receives focus immediately; trigger statements that follow the call to OPEN_FORM never execute. When you open a form with NO_ACTIVATE specified, trigger statements that follow the call to OPEN_FORM will execute after the opened form has been loaded into memory and its initial start-up triggers have fired.

In our application to navigate to other forms we have created a feature where user selects the Forms from a LOV, the form id is returned to the text item and user needs to click the text item.....In the text item the Open form command is given

when I try to open form in planning I can not do it. There is also no info why, the only info I get is: An error occurred.

Have you migrated to 11.1.2.1 lately?
Restart EAS and Planning. Login to Planning as a Planning admin, then login to EAS with the Planning/Essbase admin - Do not use the default admin user.
Check if you are able to associate the outline thereafter.

Calling report from form. Need PDF output

I am calling a report from a form using RUN_PRODUCT. I need to display the form in PDF format. When the user clicks the button in the form to run the report, acrobat reader should open up and the report displayed there. Please help.

Thanks for the response. The first part worked. I am able to get the output in PDF format. In the 2nd part where I want to open acrobat and display the output, I am having some trouble with the code. When I compile, it says
win_api_environment.read_registry must be declared. Is there some package I need to attach?
Also, in the After reports trigger, how do I pass vFile (I am assuming this is the PDF file name)?

The first thing you'll want to do is pass parameters to the report IE DESTYPE, DESNAME and DESFORMAT where these could be FILE, 'c:\temp\report' and PDF.
Then, you can try this piece of code I wrote (with some help from other people at Metalink and here) sometime back. Now, I call it from forms, but in your case, you'd have to run it in the after report trigger. Since with RUN_PRODUCT you don't know when the report is finished, if you did it from the form, it wouldn't work correctly.

I have understood some usefull information and would like to share with you.
Within one transaction, you can open and close several layout sets using OPEN_FORM and
CLOSE_FORM, however not simultaneously. You can use parameters in the OPEN_FORM to control
whether the output is stored in the same print request. But also the SAP spool decides,
depending on several plausibility checks, whether new output is appended to an existing
print request or whether to create a new print request anyway.

executes the final processing for the current layout set. Then start the layout set again
using START_FORM. Output then begins again on the start page of the desired layout set.

FRM92101 error when open forms in Oracle 12.1.1 EBS as SYSADMIN

Hi all,
I just installed Oracle 12.1.1 EBS environment on Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 64 bit OS.
Everything works fine until I login to OAM as SYSADMIN and try to create a new user and when the form opens, it fails with FRM-92101 errors.
I installed latest java plugin for Internet Explorer 7 browser and hold down the CTRL key while open the form to allow it to open and to bypass popup blocker.

Error "Job already started" when calling a adobe form in Z function module

Hi All,
I have a error when calling a adobe form in a custom function module.
I am using FP_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME to get the adobe form function module and then i am using FP_JOB_OPEN function module to control the printing parameters such as no print preview or no dialog ..etc.. I dont have any exceptions during the call of FP_JOB_OPEN function module ..
Later I am calling my function module which was generated for the adobe form and i am getting the error called " JOB ALREADY STARTED".
I tried executing the same function module in se37 and the PDF form output was generated, and also by commenting FP_JOB_OPEN function module the PDF form output was generated.
But i need the FP_JOB_OPEN function module to control the output based on the output type which triggers the form output such as the medium from nast record which says print or email or fax.. etc
Please let me know how to handling this error.

Just as a followup note. If you are testing a function module from SE37 and the test button you will get a value in SY-CPROG. You must override this value for everything to work.
If you override the value of SY-CPROG with the main program that will be calling the function module you have no problem.

I have developed one applicaiton, in which from R3, the values are coming in form of a table. Now, on Click of a Table row, it should call a smart form developed in R3 for that selected row attribute. Also the smart form should open in a new window, so that user can take a print of it.
How to add this new view and how to get the selected Row value ?

But when we try to run reports from Forms 10g it throws error which is given below.
We want to run reports from UNIX. After using this url to submit report we get error REP 110 and REP 0110

REP-0110: Unable to open file '/u01/forms/QA_Forms10g/GEMREP.rdf DESTYPE=CACHE DESFORMAT=HTML p_user_id=XYZ p_client=2'.

You are mixing 2 separators in the URL : & and +
Use only one separator in the URL :
Example :
http://GEM:7777/reports/rwservlet?server=rep_server+report=/u01/forms/QA_Forms10g/GEMREP.rdf+DESTYPE=CACHE+DESFORMAT=HTML+p_user_id=XYZ+p_client=2
