Commitment Item derivation from General Ledger

Brothers!
we want the system should derive the Commitment item from the general ledger master record. But the system is not deriving the Commitment item from General ledger.
But as We read in the BCS Documentation, there are two way for derivation of Commitement Item. one from GL and other defining the derivation rule.
please advise us, why not the system is deriving the Commitment itm from GL.
My client  also  want the same
Thanks

Hi,
Please check the attached note:
839488     Derivation of commitment item from G/L account:
As of Release EA-PS 2.00, you can use a derivation rule of type
"Function Module" with the function module
FMDT_READ_MD_ACCOUNT_COMPANY "Read Account Master Data"
predefined by SAP in your derivation strategy (Transaction
FMDERIVE). The function module can return all fields of the G/L
account master record. You can receive the commitment item either
in the technical SAP internal format (field FIPOS, 14 characters)
or directly in the format that is generally used (field
CMMT_ITEM, 24 characters). The  company code and G/L account are
already preset as a source field, and the commitment item as a
target field, in the 24-character format.
So, you should define a derivation strategy (FMDERIVE) as type Function module and use function FMDT_READ_MD_ACCOUNT_COMPANY
I hope this helps.

  • Incorrect Commitment item derived for GR/IR for service orders

    Hi Guys
We are currently on support pack 14, release 200 of EA-PS. I'm experiencing problems in with FM account assignment derivation. Especially with regards to service entry sheets.
The system is deriving account assignments well from goods reciepts to invoice reciept stage. The problem kicks in when clearing GR/IR - clearing using transaction code MR11. The system derives the expenditure commitment item using the GR/IR account in FI. I created assignments for my commitment items to be derived from G/L accounts as there is a one to one relationship between my G/L account and commitment item.
This condition results in a debit and credit entry being posted to the same commitment item in one transaction. I would expect only one item to be posted to the expense commitment item as it is the only one in the two line document whose financial transaction field set to 30. The GR/IR commitment's financial field is set to 40.
    Regards
    Thuso Mudau.

    Hi,
First thing I's do is to activate the FMDERIVE trace and see what is this commitment item derived from.
See what GL accounts are posted in the financial doc, and have a look at the log to see if the commitment item is derived directly from those acocunts.
    Let me know the results...

  • GR/IR - Commitment item derivation

    Hi everyone,
In our case (ECC 6) the GL acct number and CI number are always the same. However, when i look at a couple documents that have GR/IR posting, the GL account and commitment item are different. I cannot see any possible derivation rule that can possibly cause this. I did see other discussions in this forum about a 'fmderive-bypass' for GR / IR transactions. Can someone explain in more detail what this is and if it is relevant in my scenario? Secondly if if GR/IR GL account 123 derives commiitment item 456 (instead of CI 123), then wher exactly is this set? what setting do i need to look into to find out where and  why this is happening?
    Thank you,

    Hi ,
As per the issue that you are facing , you have defined the same commitment item for same GL A/c .
The possible reasons for the same are the derivation rules that you have defined in FMDERIVER .
Kindly check the derivation strategy that you have defined - FMDERIVE .
Secondly check the relevant GL A/c what is the commitment item that you have enterd there .
For having a check on how the derivation is taking place during the transaction , you can always activate the trace and see how the commitment items are getting populated .
for activating the trace do the following : go to FMDERIVE - double click the relevant derivation strategy - click on the test button and in the bottom u will see an option for trace activate that and you will find that a green signal is populate at the right end corner .
do take care to check the transaction from the same user ID where in you have activated the trace .
    Cheers ,

  • Layout issue: sql report region and items derived from a different table

    Hi all,
I have a report region whose source is a sql query. I am trying to display other items in the same region(These I added manually on the page and they come from another table in the schema). It works fine, except the items that I added manually in the region always appear at the top of the items that are derived from the query. I want the other way around if possible, where I want the items from report query to appear first and then the other items to appear below them. Can this be done? If so how?
    Thanks in advance
    sr

    sr,
on the definition page of your region, set the property "Display Point" to "Page Template Body (1. items below region content).
I think that's what you are looking for.

  • Fund Center & Commitment ITem Derivation for Service Procurement

    HI,
My scenario is for construction business. There are number of services which are procured. PO is raised to the vendor. All these services gets booked under one GL account.
Each of this service is budgeted separately. I have created separate CI for all these services (But one FC). I am not able to derive the FC & CI automatically for individual service.
Can anyone help us in this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ajay

    Thanks Eli.
I have now maintained derivation rule. With some BADI's & exits system is picking up the correct commitment item against service master. Now the problem is, if PO is for single service then system checks budget correctly. But once I put multiple service master (having separate CI in FMDERIVE), system picks up commt item against line item 0010 & post both the transaction against that CI consuming budget.
I need entry to be posted to individual commt items.
Let me know if any changes are required to be done.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ajay

  • Condition that checks the value of an Item derived from a select list

I want to conditionally display and hide items in a region based on a select list item.
Some items will display when the select list is at the default (%null%) and others will be displayed when the select list user selects from the select list.
The display is then updated when the "SAVE" button is pressed and the page processed.
    How do I test the select list item to be null. The condition looks like this;
    Type: PL/SQL Expression
    :P1_SELECT is null
    I also tried, :P1_SELECT is not null and :P1_SELECT = '%nul%'.
The latter changed the condition to :P1_SELECT = ''
How can I test the valu in P1_SELECT?

After a long day I saw that I did not write the condition correctly. Mea culpa.
    slavanaway

    I had the problem wrong.
The issue was a second field that could have a Y or N or null. When I checked it in PL/SQL expression as
    :P_YN != 'Y' and :P_SELECT is null
assuming the null condition would resolve as != 'Y' I had to do an explicit check as
    (:P_YN != 'Y' or :P_YN is null) and :P_SELECT is null
That fixed it.... I like null and I hate null

  • 0FI_GL_14 or 0FI_GL_4 General Ledger Accounting Line Items

    Hello experts,
we should extract the Line Items from General Ledger Accounting.
There is a new datasource from SAP 0FI_GL_14 (General Ledger Accounting (New): Line Items of the Leading Ledger)
I cant find it in our source system because I think we donu2019t have SAP Enhancement Package 3 for SAP ERP 6.0 yet.
The question is, instead of this new datasource, can we use the old one 0FI_GL_4 (General Ledger: Direct Line Items ) if all necessary fields are available in extract structure.
Do you have any idea or experiences ?
    Thanks.

    We donu2019t have ehp3, so i cant use 0FI_GL_14.
Can we really compare 0FI_GL_14 and 0FI_GL_10  ?
Because 0FI_GL_10 extracts not on document level but I need information (Work breakdown structure element(PROJK)) on document level.
So I need both fields in extract structure u201CAccounting document number (BELNR)u201D and u201CWork breakdown structure element(PROJK)u201D.
    0FI_GL_10 contains none of them.

  • Static Fund Center and Commitment Item

    Dear All,
We have recently implemented Funds Management in our organisation and there are a few issues due to corrections in the account assignment derivation data by the user.
We have a derivation strategy that gets the Funds Center and Commitment Item values from the GL/Cost Center combination.
Now, the user frequently changes the cost center as there is little clarity with regards to which cost center should the assigned costs go to.
Now when the user enters the Cost Center and the GL the first time, the FC and CI get populated in the PR - fine till now...But when before saving the PR, he changes the cost center, the new assignment does not get picked up. The budget consumption too happens in the old fund center and commitment item corresponding to the first entered cost center / gl combination.
We ran a trace and we found that the trace has the new cost center in it, but the old funds center and commitment item, with the explanation that "None of the target fields are to be derived."
We have given account assignment as changeable in the cost center (K) account assignment. And the FC and CI are in the optional mode with the account assignment.
Is there any way by which the FC and CI value gets picked based on the latest changes and not on the last held data ? Or any user exit that might get the values from the FMDERIVE each time the data is entered and the return key hit ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Wy.

    Hi Aleksey,
    Thanks for the note !
Looks like the note was implemented already for a previous storage location-based development.
We have now made a change to the existing path - the existing FC/CI values are deleted first and the new values picked from FMDERIVE everytime we hit 'ENTER' or 'SAVE'.
This way, every change to the PR has the FMDERIVE check, and the values are indirectly refreshed this way.
Not sure if this is the right path, but could not find a better alternative to account for the innumerable corrections to the purchasing documents that take place at our organisation.
    Regards,
    Wy.

  • Entry View is not matching with General Ledger View in a document

    Dear Experts
My problem is entry view is not matching with general ledger view because of  profit center. I have  posted the general ledger account with posting key 40 and profit center 1200 but when we see the same through general ledger view getting different profit center (i.e. 1410).
Offsetting general ledger account is compulsory ? if it is working for one general ledger account it should support other general ledger accounts also, but it is not the same in our scenario. Any customization level problem ?
    Earliest help is needed.
    Thanks - VG.

    Hello VG,
In the general ledger view, the line items for the selected ledger are taken from a data merge between the document line items in the entry view and the document line items in the general ledger view. In the case of fields that exist in both views, the data in the general ledger view takes priority. However, fields are only transferred from the general ledger view to the fields in the entry view if they are active in the relevant ledger. If fields exist in the general ledger table group but are not active in the relevant ledger, they are transferred from the entry view. In the data merge, amounts in the entry view are in some cases (such as cash discounts) distributed proportionately across the amounts in the general ledger view. This is necessary if, as a result of document splitting, a line item in the entry view has been split into multiple line items in the general ledger view. The proportionately distributed amounts in the entry view cannot then be used for reconciliation with account balances because the total of the cash discount amounts from the line items, for example, does not correspond to the balance of the cash discount account as a result of the rounding differences.
    Pls check this,
    Rgds

  • FI 606 No Commitment Item Selected during MB01

    Dear All,
I have a problem during GR/IR process in MB01. When logistic section want to post the GR process based on the PO reference, there is an error: No commitment items selected, message FI606.
I already created the commitment item with financial transaction 40, but it didn't affect anything during the GR. The error still the same.
When I try to post the GR, I already activated the trace. There is a GL account for RAVE account derived to another commitment item which does not suitable with the derivation I already inputted in FMDERIVER.
    Why does it happen?
    Thanks

    Hi Aleksey,
    Thanks for your reply.
I already set the fin. transaction for GR/IR account 40 and it didn't affect anything.
And I already check the note 148967 and I'm confused how to implement the note.
So the posted journal when GR saved:
    Dr. Inventory (GL: 141097200) --> budget, fin.transaction/CI category: 30/3
Dr. RAVE Purchase (GL: 600504000) --> non budget, fin. transaction/CI category: 40/3
      Cr. AP GR/IR (GL: 300503000) --> non budget, fin. transaction/CI category: 40/3
I activated the trace before post the GR. In the trace result, the commitment item derived only the inventory commitment item.
Though, the GL appeared in the trace is GL RAVE Purchase (600504000), the commitment item derived is Inventory Commitment item (141097200).
And I check the derivation GL to Commitment Item, the GL RAVE purchase is derived to RAVE Purchase commitment item.
I dont know how it can be happen.
    Any solutions? Thanks

  • Payment accounted in AP but not posted in General Ledger

    Helloo everyone,
    I have an issue.
Some Payments have been accounted in AP. However when querying the account in General ledger nothing is found.
As you can see from the above Accounting has been processed and GL date is 26 Feb 2015, However same information cannot be found in GL.
Grateful if anyone can pinpoint me to scripts or oracle docs to resolve this issue as it is impacting on the reconciliation process.

    Hello,
Normal: the transfer to GL request was run on 05 Mar 15
Now, let us look for the corresponding Batch Name and Journal Entry Name in GL
Please, in the lines shown in print screen you posted, click the + (show) icon for cash accounting class:
Under General ledger header you should see Batch and Journal Entry Names:
If these values are populated in SLA, then search them directly in Enter Journals from (General Ledger Responsibility) and update this discussion
    Thank you

I've create commitment item master (FMCIA) without "Standard Variant" field flaging. When I display commitment item heirarchy (FMCIE) the commitment item is under my Standard Hierarchy.
I reviewed in table "FMCI" and found that field Standard Variant (STVAR) is flagged "X". Is this mean all Commitment Item Master Data will be automatically flaged the Standard Variant field?
From my experience, all Commitment Item should be flagged to be position under the standard variant. I tried create Commitment Item Master in the client that the Standard Variant indicator filed appeard by un flag that field. There is the error Message no. F6160 (You can only maintain postable cmmt items in standard var. xxx).
Are there any case that the standard variant field in Commitment Item master should not be flagged, and let that commitment item out from Standard Variant ?
Is this related to the configuration that I set for Year Independent Master Data?
