Commondialog for excel 2010 - 64 bits

Hi,
Thanks for posting in MSDN forum.
This forum is discussing developing issues using English. To get more effective response, I suggest that you translate it using English.
In addition, it seem the issue relative to the dialog in Excel, however I am not able to understand it exactly.
As far as I know, we can use
Application.Dialogs to show the build-in dialog in Excel. Also here are some useful links about this topic:
Built-In Dialog Box Argument Lists
How to: Create a Custom Dialog Box
Displaying a Custom Dialog Box
Hope it is helpful.

  • Excel Trying to Load PowerPivot Add-in (version 11.1.3129.0) for Excel 2010 even after Uninstalltion of the Add-in.

    Hi all,
    I am trying to Package and deploy Powerpivot Add-in for Excel 2010. I have the Powerpivot_X86_(11.1.329.0) .MSI which installs Unattended, but Uninstallation will not remove entry from COM ADD-IN list in Excel and at first re-launch (even after
    Power Pivot Uninstallation) it will try to load Powerpivot add-in and will give an error.
    Downloading file.///c:/Program files (x86)/Microsoft analysis services/AS Excel Client/110/Microsoft.AnalysisServices.XLHost.Addin.VSTO did not succeed.
    this above path is the [InstallDir] which gets wiped off with the unistallation of the .MSI. So, before uninstallation,I stop the excel process and am running a script to delete HKCU Add-in Reg key entries.
    and also, I thought it may be implicitly loading the add-in from folder such as,
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\XLstart
    %appdata%\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART
    but nothing is installed there.
    Second Issue
    when I re-install,
    it doesn't automatically show up in the Excel ribbon (even after reboot and even if regeistries are created at the same location) but instead we should add it through COM ADD-IN list in Excel Manually.
    Appreciate any idea's and suggestion's.
    P.S
    is it possible to make it completely installed per system rather having user entries?

    Guys, I think I solved the
    issue:
    Symptoms
    1. Power Pivot SQL 2012 32-bit installed over the old version without
    deinstalling it
    2. Installed with a user with administrator rights
    3. It worked under the profile with admin rights, it didn't work under the
    normal users w/o admin rights and threw this error message: Downloading file.///c:/Program files (x86)/Microsoft analysis services/AS Excel Client/10/Microsoft.AnalysisServices.XLHost.Addin.VSTO
    did not succeed.
    4. In the admin profile, it went to the path "110":  C:/Program
    Files (x86)/Microsoft Analysis Services/AS Excel
    Client/110/Microsoft.AnalysisServices.Modeler.FieldList.vsto
    5. In the normal profile, it went to the - wrong - "10" path:
    C:/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Analysis Services/AS Excel
    Client/10/Microsoft.AnalysisServices.Modeler.FieldList.vsto
    SOLUTION
    1. ADMIN: Installed VSTO 4.0
    2. ADMIN: Checked if the .NET Programmability Support was installed - it was -
    if not, install it!
    3. NORMAL USER: Create a .reg file (Backup your registry before!) and
    use it UNDER THE NORMAL USER!!!
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel][HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins][HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins\Microsoft.AnalysisServices.Modeler.FieldList]
    "Description"="Microsoft SQL Server PowerPivot for Microsoft Excel"
    "FriendlyName"="PowerPivot for Excel"
    "LoadBehavior"=dword:00000003
    "Manifest"="C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Analysis Services\\AS
    Excel Client\\110\\Microsoft.AnalysisServices.XLHost.Addin.vsto|vstolocal"
    "CartridgePath"="C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Analysis
    Services\\AS OLEDB\\110\\Cartridges\\"
    4. NORMAL USER: Rename the registry key
    "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\User Settings\Microsoft.AnalysisServices.Modeler.FieldList"
    into
    "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\User
    Settings\Microsoft.AnalysisServices.Modeler.FieldList_old"
    5. NORMAL USER: Start up Power Pivot and it should
    work now!
    Analysis
    IMHO the issue lies in the fact, that the Power Pivot
    installer creates two problems:
    The first issue is that the path to the add-in under
    the NORMAL user is simply wrong and points to a wrong location (the
    "10" in the path). In the admin profile, where it was originally
    installed, it points to the "110" path which is correct.
    The second issue is that the installation procedure
    somehow needs to create a registry key (the one under point 4 in the solution)
    to complete it self and if this key already exists it fails to install and
    throws up weird error messages. If you delete or rename this key, it is created
    again (exactly in the same way) but then everything works out.
    Hope this
    helps!
    Regards, Reto

  • Connecting Excel 2010 64 bit on Windows 7 64 bit to Oracle 11gR2 on Linux

    Using:
    Excel 2010 64 bit
    Windows 7 64 bit
    Oracle instant client 11.2.0.1 64 bit
    connecting to Oracle 11gR2 64 bit on Linux 5.8 64 bit
    I have created a User DSN in Windows called "NITRO Oracle 11gR2 DB" using the Oracle 64 bit instant client driver 11.2.0.1. Configured as so
    http://i.imgur.com/2a3MZ.png
    Connection test is successful.
    In Excel 2010, I go to Data ribbon, From Data Connection Wizard
    http://i.imgur.com/han3u.png
    I then choose Other/Advanced, and then Oracle Provider for OLE DB.
    http://i.imgur.com/w3P1c.png
    I click next and then put in the data source, user name and password and click test, and it fails with Micosoft Data Link Error. http://i.imgur.com/zuv41.png
    Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

    12154 means the client couldn't resolve what you filled in for Data Source. What did you fill in for Data Source when configuring the OLEDB connection? It looks like "nitro" should be the correct thing to fill in, based on your statement that the ODBC DSN you configured works with it.

  • OraOLEDB.Oracle Provider Not Found- Windows 7 64 bit Excel 2010 32-bit Help

    Currently, I have an excel 2010 application that users on Windows XP 32 bit are using to connect to an Oracle 32-bit database and extract data back into Excel. Each time they open the Excel file, the VBA code automatically creates a new connection using Provider =ORA.OLEDB.Oracle Provider. All users using the Excel file have installed Oracle 9.2.1 run-time client on their machine. All of that works well currently for over 100+ users on Windows XP 32-bit
    Starting very shortly our company is moving to Windows 7 64-bit. We acquired a test PC with Windows 7 64-bit and Excel 2010 32-bit. We tried to install Oracle 9.0.2 run-time client but we couldn't connect to the database ( even with Sql Plus). We therefore downloaded Oracle 10g 10.2.04 Run-time client. With this installed, we were able to connect to via SQL Plus to the database. However, using the same Excel file and the following same VBA code.
    Set cn = New ADODB.Connection
    cn.Open ThisWorkbook.getDBCon()
    Public Function getDBCon()
    getDBCon = "Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle;" & _
    "Data Source=MyOracleDB;" & _
    "User Id=" & getDBUser() & ";Password=" & getDBPss()
    End Function
    I get a "Provider Not Found error". The VBA code and file work perfect in XP 32-bit. It seems going over to Windows 64-bit has caused issues with the file's macro. I am looking for help assessing if I have more of an Oracle Client issue or a Microsoft ADO issue. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

    @damorgan
    Yea agreed with Excel to Oracle comment. This is due to issues with global implementation of an ERP system and the disconnets between IT and Business. Therefore the business intelligence tables in oracle are most easily pulled and acted on by novice PC users via Excel. In the business, Excel is the standard tool novice non-IT people feel comfortable in to share and act on data. Most of these users have no IT knowledge whatsoever, so we create buttons and filters for them to query and then massage in Excel as they see fit.
    Having said that, still wondering if it's a ADO or Oracle Client issue. This is something beyond my knowledge. I wouldn't imagine it's the Visual Basic issue since this same file works in Windows XP. I am not in the position to just scrap Excel as the business relies on this in production and I am the only support. What could 64 bit vs 32 bit differences be having here? Thank You.

  • 64-bit Smart View + Excel 2010 64-bit Issues - Help Please

    Hello everyone.
    First, I am not an "IT guy" so please bare with me as I am not technical but need help.
    I am running Windows 7 64-bit Professional and Excel 2010 64-bit. I installed Oracle Smart View for Office, Fusion Edition 64-bit as an add-in within Excel.
    I have worked with our "Hyperion Admins" to connect to the right server so that my "private connections" are set correctly (hopefully that makes sense).
    However, when I attempt to refresh my Smart View query I end-up retrieving no data. The "refresh" button under "Smart View" in Excel will proceed as a refresh is occurring but then not return data (I know this Smart View template works as I've used it many times on 32-bit Excel).
    Our admins have informed me that I cannot use 64-bit Smart View because our "server" is on a 32-bit O/S (or something similar to that). To me, the logic doesn't make sense and I'm hoping that there is a solution the admins are not aware of.
    Happy to answer any questions and appreciate any help.

    Symptoms
    When using Smart View (SV) with Microsoft Office 2010 SP1 some SV functions do not work or cause Excel application to crash.
    Cause
    In 64-bit versions of Excel 2010 SP1, the presence of Smart View functions may cause Excel to terminate abruptly and may prevent Copy Data Point and Paste Data Point functions from working. This has been identified as a defect in Microsoft product.
    Solution
    Use the 32-bit version of Smart View until Microsoft issues fix for their 64-bit Office products.

  • Support for Excel 2010?

    At what point does Oracle plan to add support for Excel 2010 (including 64 bit) to IOP?

    It will be supported in future release and we dont have specific dates or releases yet.

  • PowerPivot Add-In for Excel 2010

    Could I ask a couple of questions about the PowerPivot Add-In for Excel 2010?
    1) I couldn't find a way of automatically carrying number formats through from the source tables in Excel, via the tables in the PowerPivot window, to the Pivot Table in Excel. For example I have £7.20 in a source table, but this appears as £7.2 in
    the Power Pivot window and 7.2 in the Pivot Table in Excel (3 different formats). Is it possible to get the value to appear
    automatically as £7.20 in all 3 places?
    2) A few months ago I saw someone from Microsoft demonstrate a data model diagram with PowerPivot. I couldn't see this in the PowerPivot Add-In for Excel 2010. Is it only available with Excel 2013?
    Many thanks.

    1) Number formats have to be done manually,
        in three different places.
    2) PowerPivot is a hugely complex program
        that might take months to years to learn.
        A simple demo is not going to accomplish much.
    I recommend this book for starters:

    Nope. It is for Excel 2013 only (Office 365).

    Jam The Man's solution worked for me.
    >
    Here's the solution.
    My operating system is Windows 7 64-bit, using Office 2010 64-bit. Trying to connect to an ODBC data source through Excel. The data source is an Oracle9i 32-bit database on a Windows Server 2003 32-bit server. However, the database version or server operating system is arbitrary; it could be an 8i, 9i, 10g, or even an 11g 32-bit or 64-bit database on a UNIX or Windows server. If you're using Windows 7 64-bit and you want to connect to an ODBC data source through Excel to an Oracle database, you must use Office 2010 64-bit. You cannot use Office 2003 or 2007, for example.
    Follow these steps on your Windows 7 64-bit PC to connect to your ODBC data source.
    1. Through Oracle's web site, go to Instant Client Downloads for Microsoft Windows (x64). Currently, the address to that page is:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/oci/instantclient/htdocs/winx64soft.html
    2. Download the two following files, found under the version 11.1.0.7.0 heading:
    Instant Client Package - Basic (instantclient-basic-win-x86-64-11.1.0.7.0.zip)
    Instant Client Package - ODBC (instantclient-odbc-win-x86-64-11.1.0.7.0.zip)
    3. Extract both zip files to the same directory (such as c:\oracle\instantclient_11_1).
    4. Launch the Command Prompt (DOS command window) by running it as administrator. Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories, then right click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.
    5. From within the Command Prompt, navigate to c:\oracle\instantclient_11_1, and run odbc_install.exe. You should receive a message saying Oracle ODBC Driver is installed successfully. The name of the new ODBC driver that was just installed is Oracle in instantclient11_1 -- use this driver when creating your ODBC connection.
    6. Create a new system environment variable. Set the value of the variable name as TNS_ADMIN, and the value of the variable path as the directory that contains the tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files. On my PC, I have another Oracle client already installed which has its own tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files. Therefore, I set the value of variable path as c:\orant\net80\admin (the directory that contains my tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files). If you don't have another Oracle client installed on your PC, create a new directory such as c:\oracle\instantclient_11_1\network\admin, and place the tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files in that directory. Then, set c:\oracle\instantclient_11_1\network\admin as the value for the variable path.
    7. To create the ODBC connection, go Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC). Alternatively, you can create the connection right from within Excel.
    Thanks man it worked for me.
    My host environment is windows 7 x64 ultimate and I have my oracle 10g in centos installed in VMware.
    Previously I had vista home premium x64 there instantclient 10.2 basic and odbc worked but in windows 7 it wasn't working.
    Thanks again.

  • CUCILync for Outlook 2010 64-bit

    Hello,
    Is there any possibility or work-arround to integrate the Cisco UC Integration for Microsoft Lync plugin (Release 8.5(1)) with Microsoft Outlook 2010 64-bit?
    According to the release notes, the "click-to-call" feature it is not supported in Outlook 64bit but my company realy likes this tool and we want to deploy as soon as possible on all our laptops (Windows 7 with MS Office 2010, both in 64bit version).
    Does anybody know if a new version the Cucimoc/Cucilync plugin will be released soon, which then will support Outlook 64bit?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Marc Hoffmann

    Unfortunately, Office 2010 64-bit support did not make it into CUCILync 8.5.2 which is due for immenint release.  It would be beneficial to express, to your Cisco Sales Team, your interest in having Office 2010 64-bit support for future CUCILync release (post 8.5.2).

  • How do i get the icloud add in for outlook 2010 64 bit

    I am running windows 7 64 bit and outlook 2010 64 bit. I had the icloud add in installed but it became corrupted, so i removed it, but now my iphone calendar does not sync with outlook and i need to find a way to download and reinstall a functioning add in.

    I have done that. When I try to synch my contacts and calendar I get the message: "Setup can't continue because Outlook isn't configured to have a default profile. Check your Outlook settings and try again."
    But I do have Outlook configured with a default profile. When I follow the rabbit trail of troubleshooting it comes down to checking to make sure the iCloud add in is active. When I check that, not only is it not active - it's not there. Thus my original question: Where can I get the iCloud add in for Outlook?

  • Recent Security Updates To Company Computers Have Affected VBA in Excel 2010 (32 bit)

    On 19 February, 2015, IT pushed Security Updates (see below for list).  The following day several macros failed to execute.  A closer look at the code revealed that the problem occurred when toggling between excel workbooks.  Specifically,
    the "Windows.Activate" did not happen causing the next line of code to give a subscript out of range error.  The worksheet couldn't be found in the still active incorrect workbook.  The macros affected were written years ago and have worked
    without incident for years.
    To test this, I created 3 files and recorded various toggling actions.  These recorded lines of code also failed, showing me that there is nothing wrong with the code itself, but in the way the machine was able to execute it.
    I also tried the failing macros on other machines to determine whether this was my machine or if other were affected.  Again the result was the failure.
    Please help!  We rely on these workbooks to make important business decisions daily!
    Here is the test code I created to illustrate the failure.  In this code, the failure occurs when Test 3 should be activated.
    Sub Macro1()
    ' Macro1 Macro
    Windows("Test 2.xlsx").Activate
    Sheets("Sheet2").Select
    Range("A1:C3").Select
    Selection.Copy
    Windows("Test 1.xlsm").Activate
    Sheets("Sheet2").Select
    ActiveSheet.Paste
    Windows("Test 2.xlsx").Activate
    ActiveWorkbook.Save
    ActiveWindow.Close
    Windows("Test 3.xlsx").Activate
    Sheets("Sheet1").Select
    Range("A1:C3").Select
    Selection.Copy
    Windows("Test 1.xlsm").Activate
    Sheets("Sheet3").Select
    Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks _
    :=False, Transpose:=False
    Sheets("Sheet1").Select
    Windows("Test 3.xlsx").Activate
    ActiveWorkbook.Save
    ActiveWindow.Close
    Sheets("Sheet1").Select
    ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "The End"
    Range("A2").Select
    End Sub
    Here are the updates that were installed.

    Hi,
    We have not seen the similar issue in this forum yet. I checked your update list, I found some updates were not released in 19 February, 2015 (Such as KB2880971.)
    As far as I know, the some macros/activate X controls can't be used after installing MS14-082 Microsoft Office Security Updates for December 2014. Please try the workaround:
    Delete the cached versions of the control type libraries (extender files) on the client computer. To do this, perform a search on your hard disk for files that have the ".exd" file name extension and delete all the .exd files that you find. These
    .exd files will be re-created automatically when you use the new controls the next time that you use VBA. These extender files will be under the user's profile and may also be in other locations, such as the following:
    %appdata%\microsoft\forms
    %temp%\excel8.0
    %temp%\word8.0
    %temp%\PPT11.0
    %temp%\vbe
    Then, if this issue still exists, please try to remove all the updates to test. It'll help us to narrow down the issue.
    Next, if this issue still occurs when we have removed the updates, we may need to debug the code.I recommend you post the question to MSDN forum:
