Communication between ADF Application and third party tool

JDev 11.1.1.5.0
I am a new bee to SOA Suite :). I am looking for a suggestion on below usecase.
We have Arbortext Editor which is a dynamic publishing tool for creating technical publication. We are planning to develop a UI tool
using ADF/JDev. As POC, we are able to invoke our ADF application from Arbortext Editor as shown below.

So, Arbortext is having it's own JVM and can have standalone java program with main method. If we can able to provide communication between our ADF application and Arbortext JVM, that can solve our issue.
We need to pass some information back to Arbortext editor from ADF application on some action (Button click).
Can you suggest any clue on this?
It would be really helpful, if you can provide some pointers for similar usecases.

Hi Samba,
I'd suggest better raise it in he ADF forum.
However, this should be possible by calling the Arbortext functions on click of ADF form buttons. Or you may send the information to a placeholder (JMS, File, DB etc.) from where Arbortext can pick that information.

Hmm.. program code a can be a third party tool, but what you describe is normally not called a tool, but rather a third party library.
Lets have an example.
Lets say that I'm building an IDE, and with my IDE I also deliver Ant and JUnit. Both Ant and JUnit are tools that haven't been developed by me, they are third party tools.
When I develop my IDE I want others to be able to write addins/plugins for it. So I provide an API that lets other call functions within the IDE.

CCMS is the best way to monitor your SAP applications, SAP has introduced lots of things to encourage use of CCMS for system monitoring. You can Install agents to monitor your systems. If you have a CEN system (SOLMAN) then you can Install agents in all the satellite systems and monitor all the satellite systems from CEN. You can also monitor the availablity of the satellite systems from CEN using CCMSPING agent.
For checking the Performance of the system if you have only ABAP stack then you can use ST03N where you can get the graphical representations as well. For JAVA stack you can use Eclipse which is a tool from SAP.

SSL: Portal and Third-Party-Tool

Hello everybody,
I need an advice how to solve the following problem: We integrated a Third-Party-WebTool with the Application Integrator. If we lauch the portal and the special iView with HTTP everything works fine but with HTTPS we get an error message: "Session Management will not work! Please check DSM log files for details. You can turn off this alert inside 'Support Desk' -> 'SAP Application'"
Do I need those logs? Because if I understood the message correctly this deals only with SAP Applications. What about Third-Party-Tools with own SSL certificates? How solve the problem described above? Do I need to import the certificate of my Third-Party-Tool into my portal keystorage? Do I need to configure anything else?

SSO between Portal Application and Portal Admin Tool

Hi All,
We have a requirement for implementing SSO between a Portal application and
Portal admin tool.
We are using WL Portal 8.1 SP4.
Here is the reason for this requirement -
A user logged-into Portal Application needs to login to Portal Admin tool to
do some admin activity. We want to provide a link in the portal application
using which the user can directly login to the Portal Admin tool without
having to enter the credentials again.
If someone has any info on how to implement this, can you please point me in
the right direction.

Hi,
When creating PP you have 2 options
PP used for compiling and PP used for Building
You create PP with all the libraries into Developing/Compiling Other DCs
And another PP with all the libraries into can be packaged into other build results (SDAs).
Once you have these 2 PP in place you add the DC as used DC.
And this should resolve the issue.

MAPI issue between Outlook 2007 and third party software

Hi. I have third party software, which open new mail message by MAPI and fill recipients address, subject, mail body and attachment. On several computers it is work fine, but at one it is not filling recipients address (just this one specific field, every
other yes). It is server application - nothing installed on PC, so everyone runs same script. On PC with this issue is W7 Pro 64bit, MS Office 2007 Pro SP3 32 bit, kerio mail server offline connector. Same configuration like on other PC's which works fine.
Do you have any suggestion where to start find this issue? I tried to make new profile in Outlook, but with same result - no address filled in 'To:' Thank you for your help.

Seems this issue is more related to the third-party application and the local settings of the user's client, we can do few thing on Outlook side. It's better to contact the support for the application to get further support.

Database schema and third party tools

I would like to make a list of thumbnails, filenames and FULL captions for selected files. Given the difficulty completing this straight-forward task it occurs to me that a third-party db tool may be easier to use rather than wrestle with Organizer.
I have had a look in the main catalog file with Portable Apps SQLite Database Explorer but can't see where caption field resides.
Does anybody know where are captions stored please?

Sip trunk between CUCM7.0 and third party VOIP provider

Hi all,
I'm looking for a solution/howto configuration for setting up a SIP trunk between CUCM7.0 and a SIP-VoIP provider.
Got SIP username, password and SIP-proxy IP from the provider.
I've done such a setup on CUCME a couple of times, but never on the CUCM.
Who can put me on right way?
Can it be done on the CUCM, or must an IOS-Device be used (got a PSTN-GW connected through H323 with CUCM)?

Integrate third-party-tool with service desk (SOAMANAGER)

to activate the web service for interface between service desk and third-party-tool I have to use transaction SOAMANAGER. My problem is that I can't find any documentation about this transaction belonging to the mentioned interface.
Has anybody experience how to activate and test the web service with SOAMANAGER?

I've already read the steps in trx. spro and several documentations in sdn.
There was a hint to trx. ictconf, wsconfig, lpconfig, wsadmin. If you call these transactions there
is a message that these trx. are old and trx. SOAMANAGER should be used.
Question is how to activate the webservice "ICT_SERVICE_DESK_API" in SOAMANAGER.
I've never handled with bindings and proxy classes.

but in the sales order they have mentined the item category as TAS so by doing this the moment they save the sales order system will genrate a requisiton automatically with the account assignement category as third party so now it is th ejob of the mm pepole to convert that pr into po and that po is know as the third party po and when u do the dummy gr for this po then system will nto ask for the sloc as there is no stock updation for the po

Ear files and third-party packages

I don't know where to put a third-party .jar package into an ear file. Does it have to go under the META-INF folder, or maybe it has to go at the same folder as ejb jars go? I read the J2EE specs, but it doesn't make up my mind.

Drag n Drop between JButton and third party Java object

I want to implement drag n drop(however it is not drag n drop in its real sense) between JButton(s) placed in a JToolBar and third party Java Object i.e. Netbeans Visual Library API's Scene class that is actually like a Canvas in drawing Apps. The Scene class itself is not a JComponent (it extends directly from java.lang.Object), rather we invoke createView method on the Scene object to get a JComponent that could be used any where(probably in a JScrollPane).
What i want is that when my user drags a JButton to the Scene's view it appears similarly as something is being dragged But in actaul that JButton should'nt be dragged or dropped Rather when user releases the mouse button to drop the item i could use my custom code to do something(actually add a Widget(a graphical item) to the Scene object).
How could this be achieved..?

The problem with UNIX and more specially with X is thare wasn't common drag'n'drop interface. Now there is XDND (X Drag'n'drop) protocol but it might not be implemented on each X server or may not be used by each X application.
I don't know if GNOME use XDND and/or if Java implementations for UNIX support that protocol. However you can check some other projects like:
