Company Code Creation (Either Copy or New Creation)

Hi all
We are on a Implementation Project got a problem in MM at the Time of GR/IR and our MM consultant said that one of the Standard Table is missing.
We created the Company code instead copying it from 001.
Would like to have input on the following
1.As SAP suggest company code should be copied If some body does not do that what are the area of concern.
2. If company code is not copied but Created what kind of problem can come during implementation.
3. How one correct the problem which are going to arise.

Rahul Jain

Hi Rahul,
Material Control Record Table viz. MARV is to be maintained for Allowing company codes in MM.
So, in T. Code OMSY, Your company code needs to be added along with the period.
Check this to find whether your problem is solved.

  • Deactivating 2 company codes and transferring balances to new company code

    Hi Gurus,
    We have few company codes created out them 2 company codes closing due to client req, So we have so many transaction in those two company codes, scenario is to transfer all balances to new company codes.
    Please help me to how to proceed what is the right way of doing.
    Thanks,
    Sree

    You can use the transaction F-04 to transfer the balance from one company code to another..
    You can use LSMW for the t-code F-04 - Post with Clearing.
    On the selection screen you have to give the new company code and at the time of choosing line item you have to give old company code..
    After the all balances transferred, you can block the old company code..

    Hi ,
    We are in SRM5.0.When we try to create shopping cart , the company code is not getting defaulted even though default attributes are maintained in PPOMA_BBP under BUK.We have a classic scenario.
    Please throw some light to this problem.

    It all depends where in the org you've created your Purchasing Organisation.
    I tend to create my structure as follows:
    Root
           --> Company
                 --> Department 1
                 --> Department 2
                 --> Department 3
                 --> Purchasing Department
                      --> Local Purchasing Org
                            --> PG1
                            --> PG2
                            --> PG3
                      --> Backend Purchasing Org
                            --> PG1
                            --> PG2
                            --> PG3
    I then maintain the attributes at the Company level.
    Hope this helps.

  • PO creation-ME21n-Why SAP does not check company code and Plant relation

    Hi All,
    Does someone know, why SAP does not check Plant and company code relation at the time of PO creation or how can we put validation between plant and company code at the time of PO creation.
    <b>Example:</b> Suppose i have a company 0001 which is assinged to Plant 0001. when i am creating a PO with another company code 0002(Entering at header level-Org, data) and using Plant 0001 at line item level. SAP does not do this validation.
    How can we put this check in place?
    Thanks in advance.
    Deepak

    Hello Deepak,
    There are three types of purchasing
    - Company code specific :You need to assign company code to Pur organization
    - Plant specific : You must assign plant to pur organization
    - Cross company purchasing: No assignment between company code and pur organization.
    In the case 3, the system will not check company code and plant relationship, but it will check plant and pur organization specific.
    The following is the copy of sap help text:
    You can assign a purchasing organization to one company code. This is company-specific purchasing.
    You can assign a purchasing organization to no company code. This purchasing organization can then procure for all plants assigned to it, irrespective of the company code to which the plant belongs.
    Since each plant must be assigned to a company code, the company code can be determined via the plant in each procurement transaction, even if the procuring purchasing organization is not assigned to a company code.
    A purchasing organization must be assigned to one or more plants. This is plant-specific purchasing.
    Now, check your company-code and purchase organization assignment.
    Hope this helps.

  • PO creation using ME57, company code is lost

    Hi
    I am creating PO using ME57, but I am loosing company code so I cannot call partner funcation PI.
    But if I creat PO using ME21N, and copy same PR there, then company code is getting copied automatically.
    So I am not understanding why system is "NOT" transfering company code while creating Purchase Order using ME57 for same purchasing requisition.
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi Umesh,
    ME57 transaction code used for Assign and Process. This transaction code will display all open PRs with different company codes.
    To get Company code in your selection criteria, you have to un-tick Company Code while creating your own variants. By default this will be protected and Hidden Std. setting.
    To default your company code, use your Variants or restrict your selection criteria only for your Plants.
    In ME21/ME21N transaction code, organization elements will be entered using Header - Org.Data.

  • Assign chart of account to a new company code

    Dear all,
    I have created a new company code in system(copy an existing company code data). When I am going to a new chart of account to the new company code, system display an error message as follows:
    Reset company code data before changing the chart of accounts
    Message no. FC140
    Diagnosis
    You have selected a different chart of accounts for a company code.
    You must, however, reset the company code-specific data for the old chart of accounts beforehand.
    Procedure
    If you really want to allocate a different chart of accounts to the company code, first of all reset
    the company-code specific data for the old chart of accounts.
    First of all you must, if it exists, reset the transaction data for this company code.
    Finally, carry out the resetting of the company code-dependent G/L account master data
    (without the general master data).
    Note:
    When dealing with large quantities of data, resetting the master data or transaction data can be very
    time-consuming. In this case, it is advisable to schedule the running of these reports as a batch run.
    Do anyone know how to solve this problem?
    Thanks
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
    I think you have copied the co. code using Trcode , When you have copied the co code all the gl master records from the source co code is also coiped to to the target company code. these gl masters use the COA(Chart of accounts)  used by the source co. code.
    If you want to assigna new COA now to the target co code then you have to delete all the gl accounts from this new co code you can do this by executing TR Code OBR2. Select the gl accounts, Select the check box for "with general master data" and provide the company code and execute. Now you can assign a new COA to this new company code

  • Copy configuration between company codes tool

    Hi,
    I would like to know if we can copy configuration between company codes?  If yes, how do we do that?  I know there are some third party tools available, but couldnt recollect now.  Any guesses?
    Thanks,
    Abdul

    Since it are more than 200 customers, a manual operation isn't very efficient.
    As I understand, no standard SAP programs exist to copy multiple customers from 1 company code to another. A new CATT will have to be created.
    Does anyone have this kind of program, otherwise I will create it from scratch.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,

  • Transfer Company Codes to Another System under a new company code

    Hi,
    We have 2 company codes in which we want to move to another SAP system but under one new company code. Is it possible to create a new company code and bring the two company codes under this company code. We do not really require to move all the historical data, just the balances will be fine. Please provide your insight how this can be done.
    Can the 2 company codes be transferred to the new company codes as cost centers? Or what kind of design can work in this situation?

    Hi,
    As the historical information is not required the approach to be adopted can be as under:
    1. A cut off date has to be determined for transfer of balances to a new Company Code.
    2. All Business Processes mapped in both the Company Codes should be there in the new Company Code.
    3. All GL Accounts to be extended to new Company code.All Customer and Vendor masters are to be created.
    4. All the GL Balances are to be brought over.
    5. All open item managed GL Accounts (line item wise) to be populated in the new Company Code.
    6. All open items of Customers and Vendors are to be brought over.
    7. Material Master to be broght over if the same are no there in new Company Code.
    8.All open Purchase Orders and Sales Orders are to be broght over.
    You can use LSMW to do the data conversion.
    Thanks
    Murali.

  • Copy Company code

    Hello all
    I want to copy company code in development please tell me from which company code i should copy it, 0001 ro IN01 company code.
    I am asking this question because whether no range wpuld be transported to it or not.

    Edited by: Prem Kumar on Aug 13, 2008 7:39 AM

    Hi,
    Both company codes are depending upon your scenario. IN01 is the indian model company which is created particularly for indian organization structure and company code 0001 is created by an SAP AG which is having internation chart of accounts.
    The main notable points is about fical year variant, in cc 0001 it is k4 and in case of IN01, it is V3. However you can opt for any of both.

    Dear Shyam,

    The scenerio is as given below:
    Hi All,
    If the employees are all hired on 1 company code say 1000 and after 1 year the company is planning to make it to 2 company codes say 1000 and 2000, what are the implications like in payroll. Say for example if some employees are paid loan in company code 1000 and he has a loan balance in company code 1000, how will this be handles as the loan in paid in company code 1000 and after the transfer, the loan regular repayment will be accounted to company code 2000.

  • PO created instead posting block set & vendor not extended to company code!

    Dear friends,
    I have a vendor created for a purchasing organisation in  a company code. there are two problems that i am facing.
    1) I have  blocked  a particular vendor completely. Even then system is allowing to create the PO using this vendor.
    2) This vendor has been created for a particular company code & has not been extended to another company code. Even then it is allowing to create the PO using the vendor centrally blocked for creating purchase order in another company code.
    There is a service PR specifying this vendor as desired vendor & the vendor is ticked for auto PO. Could this be a problem? but i think even then it should not allow to create PO that too for a different company code.
    Thanks & Regards
    Tasleem Arif

    1) I have blocked a particular vendor completely. Even then system is allowing to create the PO using this vendor.
    Answer:  While creation Purchase order, purchase orgnization mandatory for vendor,  if vendor blocked at company code level means system will not check Company code at the time of PO creation. here in PO creation use of company code is to recognise Currency of the company code.
    2) This vendor has been created for a particular company code & has not been extended to another company code. Even then it is allowing to create the PO using the vendor centrally blocked for creating purchase order in another company code.
    Answer: While creation of Purchase order, Comapny code is used for only currency recognisation , system will not check vendor is created for comapny code or not? but vendor should at Purchase org level.
    If vendor is not defined at company code , then it will give an error at the time of invoice only. not at PO level.
    At  PO level Purchase orgnisation is very important

  • Re: IMpact in changing company code to company relation not during monthend

    Hi Guru
    I would like to know your opinions about the impact that may arise in changing company code - company relationship during the mid month(not exactly mid month - anytime expect month end )? If there is an impact what would be the best approach. We suggested to the change at the month end and do the month end activities ..but due to management decision, situation may appear where it needs to be done during the month .  They have inter-company transaction .
    Here is the scenario :
    Company A has 1,2,3 and 4 as it's company code . The company code 4 now needs to be linked to a new company B . How can this be done during the middle of month ? How to get the reports for new company A and Company B and make sure the entries are correct one .For example on 18th of month company code 4 is been moved to company B. how will the assets depreciation will be posted that will reflect in Balance sheet . Let say total depreciation for the month is 300$( 30 days in month). I believe this will show up in both company B/L sheet as 300$. We are looking to differentiate 180$ being posted to Company A balance sheet and 120 to be posted to company B balance sheet .Your input on this will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi
    Transaction <b>OX02 </b>changes the name.
    It is not easy to change your company code to a new one.
    You would need to copy your existing company code to the new one and go through the IMG and verify all settings. Then reconfigure all the modules that are using the old company code like purchasing, sales, etc. to point to the new code. Finally, you would need to transfer all the legacy data. Therefore it is far easier to keep the existing company code but give it a new text name.
    Copy all the customization in a new client, no transactions and no master data. So you’ll have the same settings   with your live system.
    Created a new company code with the new currency, and copy all the customization. This step was to minimize step in re-customization.
    Uploaded all the master data...and do a new transaction
    The suggestion is don't do that in a live system or else you’ll have a big problem then.

  • Removing a plant to its current company code

    Hello Gurus,
    I am working on this request that the old plant will be removed to its current company code and assigned it to new company code. SAP has been using for couple of years already so many data has been created and documents processed. I am aware of the plants set up configuration and OX18 but I think it will not be good removing the old plant in 0X18 and just assigned it to the new company code requested. I am thinking that create a  new plant exactly the same with the old plant settings then assign it to requested company code. However, how about the existing data from the old plant? Are there any programs that can be used to copy the existing data of plant configuration?
    Please advice!
    Thanks!

    Dear Sidarth,
    Make sure that the plant has nil transaction both quantity wise and value wise. ie MM and FI.
    Then you can reassign the same plant to your new company code.
    Check the use of the Conversion Workbench (CWB), special tool like the
    Migration Workbench, especially developed for this kind of tasks.
    regards
    anand
