Compare & adjust functionality in Solman

Hi Gurus
I am planning to create a implementation project with reference to a template project. You can say during the project some process or step included in the implementation project in the BPH. Now at the end of the project I would like to compare and adjust the BPH between these 2 projects, how it can be done in the Solman? Thanks in advance.

I would suggest to create a customer message. This matter is very complicated and I would like to check this in your system. Every tab works slightly differently concerning documents.

    Hello all,
    I am trying to use the Compare and Adjust function with a Solution Directory. There is a previous discussion about how to do this between a Master Template and Implementation Project. Now that the Solution Directory exists, I would like to do the same thing. I.e. take scenarios from the Solution Directory into individual projects to extend them before putting them back into production. Together with the check in/out function, I would like to use the Compare and Adjust (SA_PROJECT_UPGRADE) function to identify differences periodically. The button for this appears in the transaction SOLMAN_DIRECTORY, but I can't seem to activate it - i.e. it is faded out. For projects, you must first run SA_PROJECT_UPGRADE to activate this button. However, you cannot select a Solution when running the project upgrade transaction. Does anyone know how to do this? Is anyone using the Solution Directory in a similar way and have advice?

    Funnily enough I have the exact same question.
    Is there a way to compare changes between a maintenance project (business scenarios checked out this project) and the solution. This way the person approving the check in can see the changes before approving.
    Have you had further information on this?
    Referring back to your question, ideally once you've checked out a business scenario to a maintenance project you wouldn't continue to maintain it. It is the responsibility of that project to maintain it. In the meanwhile if you have a support issue that requires that business scenario to be updated, this will have to assessed and handled by either the project or the solution administrators.

  • Project "Compare and Adjust" Functionality

    We have created a template project that we are using to capture all the business processes we have implemented.  When we have a project we create an implementation project and pull in the associated business processes from the template project. If we are adding a new business scenario/process/step, then it is first put on the template project and then added to the implementation project.
    We then associate our documentation and objects in the project documentation tab, transaction, configuratino, and development tab.  After I run the project "compare and adjust" in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN, I expect to see the differences between these tabs in SOLAR01/02.  This is not the case.  When I go to the tab and click "adjust to origina" I can see there is a difference between the template and implementation project.  I want to have the difference e.g. document be adjusted/copied to the template project through the copy command.  Unfortunately this is not working.  Any ideas????

    I checked the user settings and they are set as you described.  It is a rather odd problem.  Sometimes the "yellow icons" appear but not consistently.  It is almost as if something must be "re-set" before I can see the changes.  I did find an relevant OSS note so we are in the process of applying that to see if our problem will be resolved. 
    For the second issue, when I do the "yellow icons", I click the adjust button and there are differences visible on the two sides of the pop up.  However, I am not able to complete the adjust functionality.  So to give more context here is what I am doing... I have created a template project - let's call it master and an impementation project.  I have created the business scenario/process/steps in the master plan.  I then have created the same business scenario/process/steps in the implementation project with the "master" template project as the source.  I then had added documentation to the project documentation and development tab.  In addition, I have added items to the configuration tab.  I want to be able to reflect the documents back to the "master" project so others can reuse.  How can I do this?  I have been running the compare in solar_project_admin by selecting the implementation project and entering the master template project on the selection screen.
    Any additonal thoughts would greatly be appreciated.

  • Sol. Landscape - Business Scenarios from Temp. Project: Compare & Adjust ?

    Hi,
    In SOLMAN_DIRECTORY, within Business Scenarios, if I were to copy Business Scenarios from a Template Project, is it supposed to help me use the 'Compare and Adjust' functionality ?
    I see the icon for this utility, but invariably greyed out at all levels.
    The idea is to hold Template Project as the master content provider, even for Support side.
    The workaround could be (yet to fully test) to use a Maintenance Project, to compare and adjust and check it in again.
    Any ideas welcome - especially, on why the 'Compare and Adjust' icon appears greyed out, in the Solution.

    The news that your colleague has tested it successfully is very encouraging and gives me hope.
    That's the way I was testing as well, with limited success. I couldn't finish testing because the the buttons for Check Out/ Check In Requests disappeared from SOLMAN_DIRECTORY suddenly. Then, I got into SAP Notes search etc.
    Can you/ your colleague please confirm if my following understanding is correct and suggest changes where it's wrong:
    (1) First, create a Solution and Maintenance Project in the same project language (to get the KW context right)
    (2) Create a few Business Scenario Names in Solution Directory (e.g. Procure to Pay, Order to Cash etc.)  - as manya s required
    (3) Later, assign the Maintenance Project concerned to the Solution, in the tab 'Solution Settings'
    Note: (2) is done before (3) since the assignment of a Maintenance Project renders the section greyed out. If it is greyed out, there is nothing to check out at the first place.
    (4) Check out the Blank Scenarios to Maintenance Project
    (5) In SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN, I would have already pre-selected the relevant scenarios under 'public' Templates, so that they are available in Maintenance Project's SOLAR01/02 under the Business Scenarios folder
    (6) Now, when I open the Maintenance Project in say SOLAR02, it would list me the scenarios copied from Template in the usual way (as in say, any normal Implementation Project), and below those folders, it would also list the 'Checked Out' name sake Scenarios from the Solution Directory
    (7) I will 'copy' and 'paste' the right Business Processes from the first set of Scenarios (from Template Project) into the Solution Directory blank Scenarios -  while doing so, I will retain the right to 'refer' documents and not copy them
    (8) I would Check In the structure back into Solution Directory
    (9) In say, a months time or so, the Process in Template Project have undergone changes (more process steps added under a process, more documents added/ removed/ changed etc.)
    (10) I would open the Maintenance Project after running SA_PROJECT_UPGRADE for the maintenance project.  I would do the 'Compare and Adjust' function in the regular Scenarios to get the content adjusted

    Since installing LTR 5.4, which I've now upgraded to 5.6, I've encountered repeated slowness and malfunctions in operations, especially when using the Compare View function and the Tab key to open and close the right and left side panels.  Such problems never arose during two years of using LTR-4 and nothing else has changed on my computer.  I have a pretty simple system with only a few plug-ins, which are usually not in operation.  I have 12GB of RAM in my Windows 7 PC.  I could illustrate these problems with screen shots if you would tell me how to submit screen shots.  Otherwise I will try to describe the problems in words.
    The problem is clearly cumulative, growing worse as usage time passes.  Compare View feature gradually slows down and eventually seems to choke as my work session proceeds. If I Exit LTR and re-enter and start all over, things will work normally for maybe 30 minutes, but then the Compare View feature begins to become very slow to respond.   In a recent example with my screen full of thumbnails in Library mode I highlighted two images to compare. LTR started to open the Compare View screen by first having the top row of thumbnails disappear to be replaced by the "SELECT" and "CANDIDATE" words in their spaces  (but no images), but Compare View never succeeded in gaining control of the screen. After some seconds the top row of thumbnails reasserted its position and the Compare View windows disappeared. But LTR kept trying to bring them back. Again the top row of thumbnails would go away, Select and candidate would reappear, try again, and give up. This went on for at least 2-3 minutes before I tried to choose File and Exit, but even that did not initially want to respond. It doesn't like to accept other commands when it's trying to open Compare View. Finally it allowed me to exit.
    To experiment I created a new catalog of 1100 images.  After 30-40 minutes, the Compare View function began to operate very slowly. With left and right side panels visible and two thumbnails highlighted, hitting Compare View can take half a minute before the two mid-size  images open in their respective SELECT and CANDIDATE windows. When the side panels are open and two images are in the Select/Candidate spaces, hitting the Tab button to close the side panels produces a very delayed response--25-30 seconds to close them, a few more seconds to enlarge the two images to full size. To reverse the process (i.e., to recall the two side panels), hitting Tab would make the two sides of the screen go black for up to a minute, with no words visible. Eventually the info fields in the panels would open up.
    I also created a new user account and imported a folder of 160 images. After half an hour Compare View began mis-placing data.  (I have a screen shot to show this.)  CANDIDATE appears on the left side of SELECT, whereas it should be on the right. The accompanying camera exposure data appears almost entirely to the left of the mid-screen dividing line. Although the Candidate and Select headings were transposed, the image exposure data was not, but the data for the image on the right was almost entirely to the left of the line dividing the screen in two.
    Gurus in The Lightroom Forum have examined Task Manager data showing Processes running and Performance indicators and they see nothing wrong.  I could also send screen shots of this data.

  • In the new Photos app, adjust function does nothing

    Just upgraded from iPhoto to Photos.
    In Edit mode, I click on adjust.  I can crop a photos.  But all the adjust functions seem to do nothing with my photo.
    Am I doing something wrong?  Anyone else having this problem ?

    Restarted my Mac and it started working!
    Even though this was easy to address, it's a performance bug which should be addressed.

  • Use of Adjust function to copy standard config for Upgraded system

    I have worked on a number of different ERP 6 systems that have been upgraded from previous versions.
    Some of the basic standard delivered config will be missing and there is a simple task of using the "adjust" function to copy the standard config  from client "001" to the developement client "XXX"
    However I know have a client who has the missing config in the dev client "XXX" but when you use the adjust back to "001" there is nothing there.
    Do you know a way to re-create the core config?
    An example is in Dispute Management - if you go to the case type config. SAP delivers F_DM as a base - but there is nothing there.

  • How to compare 1 function in 2 different progs in debugging

    I'm working with ECC6.0 and I was wondering if there is a neat way to compare a function with variable values in debugging with another function in debugging.
    I have build an z programm which uses the function CV100_DOCUMENT_SEARCH
    I give or at least I try to give alle the values in the same manner as this function is working in tcode CV04N
    somehow I still don't get any results back in my zprogramm while all the variables are the same . is there perhaps an easy way to compare the variable and table values from CV04N with the variables and table values from my z programm ??
    I'm getting nuts checking all the variables from the structures between the 2 programms by clicking on every one and scrolling down all the time
    ofcourse points for the one who prevents me from getting rsi on these kind of things

    yep I know that option for downloading to excel but still when you have multiple structures or tables then it's still a lot of work.
    it would be handy if you could just set all the data in debugging for a specific funtion to testdata for that function. and also from the other program and let sap compare both of the datasets perhaps an idea for the next release ??
    oh and I solved the problem with the function above

        EXPORTING
          max_rows              = restrict
    the global variable restrict is used inside the function (instead of max_rows) which caused it to return no results.

  • Acrobat X "Compare Documents" Function Failing on Large / Complex PDFs

    To all,
    Upon initial testing, we were successful using the Compare Documents function on complex test files: two versions of an automotive wiring diagram.  However, when attempting to compare two versions of a section from an automotive service repair manual (includes textual and graphical content), we receive ana error message "Operation Not Permitted."  We are aware of the 250 page limitation and ability to select option "Text Only," but the document we are testing now is only 56 pages.  Any thoughts / suggestions as to how we can alleviate this issue?  Your input appreciated.  Thanks!

  • Auto adjust function in MSI VGA drivers 30.00 adjusted mem.clock to 72

    I have installed new VGA drivers from MSI v30.00. Under MSI clock tab I found auto adjust function for memory clock. It has adjusted memory clock to 729 MHz on my G4 Ti 4600? What does this function mean?
    My system:
    MSI K7T Turbo 6330 3.0
    1.33 GHz Athlon
    512 MB RAM
    G4 Ti 4600
    80 GB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm

    no idea? Of course I have corrected memory clock back to default value 662 MHz (MSI G4 Ti 4600).

  • How do I compare adjusted image side-by-side with un-adjusted version?

    Sorry if this seems very basic. I tried A3 Help and I did a quick search in this forum. In Lighthouse, there is a simple button, very intuitively designed to generate a side-by-side comparison showing how the adjustment would look.

    Create a new Version, select in the Browser the two images you want to compare, and double-click one of them to entire Viewer or Split view.
    There are many relevant settings, views, and workflows -- what these do and whether you want to use them will become apparent as you get used to Aperture.
    There is a setting in prefs to create a new Version for all adjustments.
    "m" toggles Master image view on/off for all currently displayed images. In the Viewer, this can be helpful, but it does not show you a simultaneous side-by-side view.
    The most important thing to know about Versions is that they come with almost no computer overhead -- use as many you want, as often as you want (to, for instance, compare adjustment sets).
    Sorry if this seems very basic.

  • Compare VI function

    Where the heck is this function? I used to use it and now I can't seem to find it anywhere. It isn't where the help says.
    To quote the LabVIEW help...
    "Use the Compare VIs dialog box to graphically compare two VIs. Select Tools>Compare>Compare VIs
    to access this dialog box."
    I am running LabVIEW 6.0.3 RT version.

  • Automate Compare and Adjust functionality

    Hello Experts,
    I would like to know if there is an easy way to automate the entire process of "compare and adjust" in template management. I mean not only the transaction SA_PROJECT_UPGRADE execution but also all the adjustments in the roll-out projects (yellow flags): I do not want to click on every process / tab where the yellow flag appears and click on the button "compare and adjust", but click just once and my roll-out project is updated...

    You are not the first one to ask this question.
    Please have a look at this link. The last comment is from Andreas Diebold and he is a developer with SAP, so he is authoratative in this regards.
    Accept all changes after SA_PROJECT_UPGRADE
    To summarize: there is no way to do this presently.
    Hope this puts this issue to rest for the time being.

    Can't find good documentation in the jungle. Please help to find docs.

    Solution Manager is free of charge, so your question needs to be more specific.
    All functions in Solution Manager are included.
    Typically you will also get a license for CA Wily Introscope as this is integrated into Solution Manager Diagnostics.
    There may be charges for 3rd party products that integrate with Solution Manager, but Solution Manager itself, and all its self contained functionality is offered to SAP customers at NO CHARGE.

  • Partner functions WebUI Solman

    Hi experts,
    I'm using Solman 7.1 in Incident Management and I've got a strange problem in using partner functions.
    I used SLFN0002 and created a copy of it ZLFN0002. Then I added both in the WebGUI under "details". And here is my problem:
    when I fill the field SLFN0002 the business partner appears in both fields. But in bock "business partner" only SLFN0002 is filled.
    when I then delete the field (under details) ZLFN0002. SLFN0002 is deleted too.
    when I fill field ZLFN0002 the business partner doesn't appear in the field (but under business partner block)
    It seems like an linking error. But I don't know where to find this.
    Does somebody has an idea how to solve that issue?

    I read the block - for me everything seems to be ok.
