Comparing items to system date

I have an item that is a date picker set to the application default format mask.
All I want to do is make sure the user cant pick a date that is beyond the current day but nothing works. Here is what I have tried...
PL/SQL expression
to_date(:ItemName, 'DD-MON-YY') > SYSDATE
and many other variations but I cannot get it to fire
Any help?

Have tried applying the to_date to sysdate so you are comparing apples to apples?
to_date(:ItemName, 'DD-MON-YY') > to_date(SYSDATE, 'DD-MON-YY')

Read Year from System Date & Compare - Assistance required

I am trying to read only the year part from the system date & then checking if any entry exists in EKKO table (EKKO-BEDAT) for the year. I think i am making an error in my data declaration for V_YEAR & in my select statement (EKKO~BEDAT LIKE V_YEAR), not sure how to compare only the year part, can someone help.
DATA:
    V_EBELN TYPE EKPO-EBELN,
    V_YEAR TYPE SY-DATUM.
CLEAR: V_EBELN, V_YEAR.
*Read year from system date
V_YEAR = SY-DATUM+0(4).
CONCATENATE '%' '%' '%' '%' V_YEAR INTO V_YEAR.
*Select section
SELECT SINGLE EKPO~EBELN INTO V_EBELN
FROM EKPO

Thanks for the inputs, but it is not working:
Move:      sy-datum(4) to v_begda, -> This reads the system year 2008
        '0101'     to v_begda, -> This changes 2008 to 0101
        sy-datum(4) to v_endda, -> This reads system year i.e. 2008
        '1231'     to v_endda. -> This changes 2008 to 1231
Also in the select statement
AND EKKO~BEDAT between v_begda and v_endda
This would not work, as EKKO-BEDAT is in year month date format.
So can you please clarify why we are assigining 0101 & 1231 & also how we can compare only the year in EKKO-BEDAT with System Year

I tried to
concatenate '0101 into v_begda.
concatenate '1231' into v_endda.
but system prompts "charlike-field" expected after "'0101'"

Date compare with system date

Given date time is in yyyyMMddHHmmss format, want to compare with system date time.
ie given date time is greater than zero then go inside if block otherwise else block.

I am using below code which always greater than zero. But I want to use compare to method to compare given date with system date and goto if or else condition:

Update Rule Routine: Compare system date

Can anyone help me with regards to writing some ABAP code in update rule?
I would like to check if the value of a date characteristics is equal to system date in data source. If its value is equal to system date, assign '0' value to another numeric characteristics. Otherwise, it will get the difference between system date and the date characteristics. I have rewritten the routine as follows. But there is no effects on the result. Am I correct?
if COMM_STRUCTURE-<date characteristics> = SYST-DATUM.
RESULT = '0'.
else.
RESULT = COMM_STRUCTURE-<numeric characteristics>.
endif.

I have rewritten the code as follows. ZLASTPURD is a numeric characteristics. The code is written in the routine of ZLASTPURD in update rule. But it takes no effect. The case "COMM_STRUCTURE-/BIC/ZLASTPURD ='0'" means another date characteristics is equal to system date, the value of ZLASTPURD is blank after modifying the code. However, the code is workable for "RESULT = COMM_STRUCTURE-/BIC/ZLASTPURD.". Is there anything wrong?

Billing date issue - system date as default.

Hi ,
We have a requirement to consider billing date as the system date in creating the billing document.
Requirement.
1. Sales Order is created and Blocked.
2. Sales Order is released the next month.
3. Billing document is created (manually or Batch) after release of the sales order next month.
4. The system considers the requested delivery date as the billing date by default.
5. However, the system should consider the system date as the billing date by default (without manually changing).
Is there any way to achieve this requirement - System should consider the system date as default in creating billing document.

Error-System Type Initialization Exception occured in system data dll

hello sir,
because of transferring my project from one pc to another pc i am getting following error:
error massage:
first chance exception of type 'System.TypeInitializationException' occurred in System.Data.dll
Additional information: The type initializer for 'System.Data.Common.DbConnectionOptions' threw an exception.
If there is a handler for this exception, the program may be safely continued.

This seems to be related with an environment issue, please have a check the worked machine and the non-worked one, to compare if there are some difference.

This could be due to missing references. Or it could be due to an error in the app config file. Is it possible for you to post your code about the connect part and the connection string? And here is an article describes how to process the first chance exception:

Document Journal s_alr_87012287 - System date

Hi,
A company was late to deliver the Document Journal.
Is it possible to leave out the system date on the Document Journal?

Hello,
In S_ALR_87012287 selection parameters give the document number or the periods.
Click on Line Item pages only radio button. This will give the line item details.
Execute.
You can press Ctrl+P (Printing Short Cut)
Give your local printer name.
print.
Alternatively,
Go to FB12
Give the company code.
Give the correspondence type (preferably SAP09)
Give the document number
and Year.
Then go to F.61
Give correspondence type
Company code.
Execute
In case if it is asking, give the device name (your local printer). It triggers a spool request.
Now go to SP02. You can see your own spool requests.
Double click on page icon.
Click on print button.

1) In spro first check the Field selection group assigned with PR document type...in most of the cases it is NBB...now go to spro@mm@PR@Define screen layout at document level@double click on NBB@double click on Deadline monitoring@here make Release date as display so that user will not be able to change it in PR.
2) Check if the same is possible in ME55 or BAPI for release with object type BUS2105
3) Check of BAPI for pr with function module BAPI_REQUISITION_DELETE with your ABAP person.

1.)     Whenever you are creating a new PR system will automatically take that PR creation date as system date.
2.)     All the releases in SAP System will be recorded as Item/Header change and system will maintain their history in Item/Header change details
3.)     If your requirement is to track the duration between creation, release of levels it can be very much possible by creating a quary it self.

Where is the item category usage data stored?

Where is the item category usage data stored?
I'm checking the CRM system of my customer. My customer uses CRM & ERP system. Both BP data and prodact data are connecting from ERP to CRM. In Item category determination on CRM system, Item category usage exists as a condition. I know where I customize the usage setting. However,I don't know where ithem category usage data is stored. Product master data? or BP master data? Does anyone have this information?

If you are refering to Item category group, then this is stored o product master data on sales organizational specific data.
If you are refering to Item category usage then there is a different logic. Item category usage is is mainly hardcoded in ABAP programs. For example one logic is hardcoded for interchengabilty scenaro. In some cases you can even use badi implementation.

I want to create a custom metadata field of type Date. I want to make it mandatory and want to set its default value as system date.
I have already created field of type Date. What expression I should write to make system date as default value?
Because its a mandatory field, what would happen to existing content. Will there metadata get updated?

Set current system date in a field on load of a page

Hi APEX users,
I read about a similar thread on the subject but I am just as confused.
Simply I need assistance with the following:
I have a page that has many fields and one of those fields is DATE_RESOLVED. This is a DATE Picker field but I want this field to show the current system date every time the form loads/reloads BUT yet give the user the ability to change the date if they should choose to do so by way of the DATE Picker calendar.
How would I achieve this?
Any help will be greatly appreciated. My form is functioning just fine but I just need to achieve this one last date function.

the follwing should cover your requirements.
a)
On you main page screen, if you click on your particuar date item, say P1_MY_DATE
set the follwing:
#1 under Source,
Source Used: only when current value in session state is null
Source Type: Plsql expression or function
Source value or expression: sysdate
#2 under default
default value: sysdate
default value type: plsql expression
b)
On your main page screen, create a new page computation by clicking on the '+' icon next to computation on the left hand side (page rendering)
location- item on this page (default) -> next ->
compute item: select your item (P1_MY-DATE) -> computation point: Before regions ->computation type: plsql expression -> next ->
computation: sysdate -> next
(leave blank, unless you want this to be conditional) -> create
done...

actually i don't think that you can use a .NET datatable to fill a business one grid.
the business one has it's own datatable.
in c# it would look like this:
