Compensation Specialist role in ECM..?

Hi Team,
I am very thankful to suresh for his quick response.
in my ECM Implementation I have 2 roles at the moment.
1. Org Unit Head (Manager): This role is to do compensation evaluation for his team and he needs to submit it for upper level manager (Approving Authority). With this the plan status is changing from In Planning to Submited.
2. Higher Manager (Approving Authority): When I loged as an higer level manager and did the approval. The Plan status is becoming from Submit to Approval...
Now, Here the question... As he is unable to edit or change anything. What is the process flow from here. Where the compensation specalist role will take place in this process. what is the process flow in this Business process. How I need to make that Approval as Active or Reject.
What are the authorizations that this role requires..
U r inputs will be highly appreciated...
Thanks in advance..

  • Compensation Specialist Role through MSS

    Hi All,
We have new requirement to build Compensation Specialist role through MSS instead of using Default ECC Compensation Specialist role and Compensation Specialist business Package role.
This is My Requirement, if i am login as an MSS Compensation Specialist role in my SAP Portal, i need to able to see all employees in that Organization Structure and i need to able to plan and update for employees instead of planning for only my direct employees as a manager.
Even though i am in first level, second level or top level manager, that doesn't matter.
My question is only the thing is how to create the custom evaluation path, Object Selection Rules and Object Selection.
If any one has been completed this configuration, please help me with step by step.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Abhiram.

    Hi Bala,
Nice to see your reply, my client wants from MSS itself instead of the Business Package role etc. He wants to Manage Compensation Specialist Role responsibilities through MSS itself.
Here we are using completely customized OADP for my MSS Components, i did the whole customization, every thing is working fine. Now i have to do this one also. My client is very much interested on this one.
If you know the solution please share with me.
    Thanks in advance.

  • ECM: Business Package for Compensation Specialist

    Hi,
so the last ECM project I worked on, the portal resource installed the compensation specialist business package.
But now I am having trouble confirming exactly what should be installed.
On sdn, there is a great excel sheet that is recently updated, that has all the expected business packages we need and helpful information on each package (mss, ess, tms, erecruiting, etc)
    Check it out:
    Predefined Portal Content Integration
However, to my surprise nothing was in this list for Comp specialist.
Through various searching - i am really only finding this compensation specialist business package, which looks more like ECC 5.0, but I guess it must also work on 6.0, ep4??
    http://help.sap.com/Business_Packages/EN/7D/28543F65C83B28E10000000A114084/frameset.htm
additionally, all i see in the service marketplace is:
This looks like the install file:
    BPERP4CSP00_0-10003191.sca
BP for Compensation Specialist (mySAP ERP 2004) 60.2
    BP COMPENSATION SPECIAL. 60.2
Last changed by sap service on:
    15.12.2005
Is this really the active version that should still be used for ECC 6.0, EP4 or is it under some other name?
    Thx,
    Mike

HIi Siddharth, thx for confirming, this was my guess.
It also appears that much of the new ECM analytics integrated with BW in EP5 is being moved under the TMS 1.51 (Talent Management Specialist) Application.
If they are moving ECM reports there, I don't understand why you would not just incorporate all the BSP links / folder structures so that  'BP Compensation Specialist 60.2' could be officially retired.

    Thanks Brian for your inputs,
I think we should go ahead with atleast deploying the BP and show it to the client to make a decision.
Brian one final questions, I am sure but can you confirm that this can talk to ECC. 6.0 with EP 7.0 .....NW2004s lets say SP11.
the BP documentation says it can be used from NW2004 or NW2004s SP4 or 5 something like that. But since this BP has been avialable even before 2004s was released hence my doubt.

  • How to call "compensation profile" iView in ECM from Web Dynpro for ABAP

    Hi Experts,
I developed a compensation planning iView using web dynpro for ABAP using floor plan manager in ECM. I need to call the iView "compensation profile" but I don't know how to pass parameter to it, how to trigger it from my application. Is there anyone used to do this before?
    Thanks!

I have to develop my own iView to replicate Java iView.

  • Compenation Specialist Configuration

    Hi,
I have downloaded the business package for compensation specialist. I have assigned the role to a portal user, but i am getting the error "Service not available" for all the iviews.
Can you provide any documentation on configuring Compensation specialist.
    Thank you

There are actually few distinct steps involved, and I am not sure where you stand.
    1. Web Channel is a suite of Java Web applications that can installed in any SAP Java stack. SAP Portal in only optional. You don't need SAP portal unless it is required for business reasons.
    2. As long as the web channel applications are configured (XCM) properly they can run independently. It is assumed that the backend ECC system is fully configured and functional.
    3. Download public-key certificate of Portal Server. Use the Keystore Administration tool to download the verify.der file from the portal.
    4. Import public-key certificate of Portal Server to component system's certificate list and add Portal Server to ACL of component system. Transaction STRUSTSSO2.
    5. [Configuring SAP Web AS ABAP to Accept Logon Tickets from the J2EE Engine|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/cb/ac3d41a5a9ef23e10000000a155106/frameset.htm]
Also, read the building block document in the link I gave you earlier.
Steps 3, 4 and 5 basically define and establish the trust and SSO.
One important point to know if you care is -- though  the Web Channel applications are Java based web applications, they don't run as J2EE clients using SSO. The applications use a "generic JCo - system user" to logon stealthy first. Then, if the application is run in portal, then using the portal MYSAPSSO2 cookie, they check the SSO trust between the portal and the back-end system.

  • Enterprise Compensation management Planning iView

    Hello,
We're busy implementing ECM for ECC6 and Portal 7.  On the Compensation Planning iView and page, there is a link to 'Show Statistics' and according to SAP's formal documentation, this could be eliminated from the page/iView, if the user so desired.
The iView has no recognizable property for this functionality to be put on or off.
Does anyone have an idea where this could be disabled?
    Help with be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Charmaine

    Hi,
We actually had a customer message opened for this with SAP.  Please follow below steps (you'll need the Self-Service role):
    1. Select the Define Perspectives for the ECM Planning FPM Application.
           a. Portal Content->Content Provided by SAP->srvconfig->com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.mss->Enterprise Compensation Management->FPM Applications-> ECM Planning
    2. Select the CAP View tab.
    3. Select the Additional Information CAP item and Delete.
    4. Select the Plan perspective.  Select the Show Statistics CAP item and Delete.
    5. Save all changes.
    Hope this works.

  • HR ABAP authorizations for Nakisa roles

    Hi there,
We have just started to plan for ORG chart and Talent planning systems by naksia. Wondering if there are any
standard HR authorizations that the standard nakisa roles use and if anyone can elaborate if IT 008 (Basic Pay) really comes in to play with this as it is very sensitive. The project team has presented these user types:
    Everyone, Executive,Assistant,HR(Human Resources), Manager
We are not using Structural auths but auth by PLOG, P_ORGIN
    Any direction appreciated.  Thanks !

    Hi Dan,
For OrgChart are you using Live or Staged?
There are no special auths required for OrgChart. A SAP role needs to be mapped to an ORgChart role in order for users to see certain data. No PA0008 data is shown by default in OrgChart, although obviously if you want to show it you'll need to make configuration changes to restrict display, depending if you are using Live or Staged. The roles you mention are standard OrgChart roles that come pre-defined out of the box.
For SuccessionPlanning (assuming you are on ECC6 EhP4) you need to have the Talent Management Specialist role (SAP_TMC_TALENT_MANA_SPECIALIST) assigned to each user and an Area of Responsbility assigned in HRTMC_PPOM. This is between the Position of the user and the OrgUnit of each area they are responsible for. No configuration is required in the application because, for SuccessionPlanning, it is really just an interface between the user and ECC data and leverages ECC security etc.
    I hope that helps!

  • Enterprise Compensation Management without Budgeting & LTI

    Hi Experts,
Please guide me whether we can go ahed witout configuring or maintaining the Budgeting & LTI sections in Enterprise Compensation Management.
Client does not have any budgeting practices, only Bonus(Yearly),Incentives(Yearly),Salary survey
Salary changes sometims happens in the organization.
We want to maintain only above practices.
Can any one please suggest me on the same & let me know if yes the which all aares  we can cover to go ahead.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Budgeting & LTI are not required for you to implement SAP Enterprise Compensation Management. They are seperate sub-modules within ECM. From what it sounds like your requirements are just to implement annual bonus and merit each year. If this is the case you can implement only the "Compensation Administration" section within ECM. This would be located in the SAP IMG under Personnel Management --> Enterprise Compensation Management --> Compensation Administration.
    Thanks,
    Imran

  • Setting Global Budget in compensation workbench

    Hi
I have configured CWB R12. I need to know how to set a global company budget for distribution to all managers.
I have configured and assigned a Budget Manager and a Compensation manager role.
Eg. The company has awarded 8% of total salaries to salary increases. I need to cascade 8% default to all managers to distribute to their directs.
    regards
    Mahomed Adam

    Debojyoty:
Are you set up, or do you have managers who are set up with direct reports who are eligible for your compensation plans? Have you run the Participation Process: Compensation Workbench? You will need to have met both of those requirements before this will work for you. (I'm assuming you set up your tasks as part of your overall setup, per this Metalink Note.)
You will also need to go through and set the budget as the Highest-Level Manager, then you can use the Switch Manager functionality to begin allocating your budgets to your managers. After that, switch to a manager and then do your allocations.
Let me know if any of this helps. Best of luck to you!
    Take care,
    Mark

  • Business Packages - Release availability information in SDN

    Hello experts,
is the information related to "Primary Backend System" for Business Packages listed at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/contentportfolio a minimum release requirement or an exact match?
    Example:
Business Package for Compensation Specialists Release 60.2
Primary Backend System SAP - ERP 2004
Is it also possible to use it with ERP 2005 as Backend and what would be the implications?
    Thanks for your support!

    Hello,
    thanks for the fast reply.
My understanding was that only XSS has Webdynpro components and the Business Packages itself only include roles, iviews etc. So I would assume that no webdynpro components are included in the Business Packages.
I would be especially interested if a Business Package which is released for NW04s Portal and ERP 2004 Backend also works with a NW04s Portal and a ERP 2005 backend (as the example mentioned above).
You are writing some work for higher versions as well- could you please specify which business packages you mean?
    Thanks a lot!
    Bye,
    Volker

  • Comp Adjustment Manager

    Hello All
    Attn : Suresh Datti
What exactly is the difference between a Line Manager and a Compensation Manager in the Compensation Adjustments page ?

A Line Manager is the employee's immediate boss who give s the merit increase / LTI grantc etc..
A Compensation Manager liaises between the line managers & the Compensation Department.. manages the implementation of compensation programs that provide employees with competitive rates of pay, and motivate and reward them. I think in ECM, it is called Compensation Specialist.
