Compile in WinXP??

Hi guys.
I was wondering. Are there any good Java compiling program that I run under my Windows XP Pro? I'm currently running it under my old 133 MhZ computer, under Windows 98 SE with a Java Development Kit (version 1.1.8).
I'm planning to use it under my 959 MHz computer.........what Compiler do you guys use and what JDK version are you using?
Thanks,
Greg

  • Overclock P67 Asus - Sandy Bridge

    I am trying to overclock my new Sandy Bridge System.
    uname  : 2.6.37-ARCH #1 SMP x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz
    mboard : ASUS P8 P67 EVO
    In the uefi-bios if one chooses the performance-profile the system should automatically run with appr. 4.5 GHz in turbo-mode after save/reboot.
    Stress-testing my system (kernel-compilation, multiple WinXP-vms) all cores show the regular frequency of 3.4 GHz:
    cat /proc/cpuinfo =>
    cpu MHz : 3435.835 (for all 8 threads)
    Are there any tools that correctly monitor cpu-frequency?
    What's weird is that my VirtualBox WinXP-images running cpu-z also show the base frequency even under 100% cpu-load, so no turbo-boost here.
    Manually overclocking in the bios yields the same lame results.
    Any hints are welcome.

    Regarding File Adapter - WinXP at compile time, Unix at run time
    I want to specify polling of a directory using Unix type directory notation but this doesn't compile under windows. (I'll read up re. logical directories)
    Has anyone done polling of a unix directory using BPEL (but compiled this under windows JDeveloper)?
    thanks,

    Using a logical directory should help you with this problem.

  • Package compilation problem in WinXP

    I am creating a simple program to throw a dice but have some problem with packages.
    I have 2 files, in the directory, C:\Dgame\Dgame\Dice.java and C:\Dgame\Dgame\Dealer.java .
    I packaged both of them into a package called Dgame (using "package Dgame;" at the first line of the file).
    The Dealer class creates a few NTDice instances. I tried to compile both a whole load of errors came out.
    Something like:
    cannot resolve symbol
    class NTDice
    location Dgame.Dealer
    Dice A = new Dice(1,2,3,4,5,6);
    any ideas on how to solve this problem will be greatly appreciated =)

  • Compile error in WinXp...

    Hi I created a class called HTMLPageReader in file HTMLPageReader.java
    and a class called Browser that uses this class with the command:
    import HTMLPageReader;
    at the top of the Browser.java file.
    Everytime I compile I get this error:
    Browser.java:12 '.' expected
    import HTMLPageREader;
    1 error
    with arrow pointing at ";"
    I wonder why I am getting this error? Both HTMLPageReader.class, HTMLPageReader.java and Browser.java files are in the same directory.
    And I can compile these files fine on UNIX machines just not on my XP machine at home. Any solutions to this prob?
    Thanks.

    you cannot import a class as if it were a package
    you can either do:
    in MyClass.java
    package MyPackage;
    class MyClass{
    blablabla
    in MyOtherClass.java
    import MyPackage;
    or
    import Myclass.*;
    class MyOtherClass{
    blablabla
    hope this helps
    BalpoActually, neither of those would work. You have the choice of either
    import MyPackage.*;
    or
    import MyPackage.MyClass;
    The former imports all classes in package MyPackage. The latter (which is my recommendation) would import only MyClass. This is beneficial since you can immediately see the class you have imported (although neither is more or less efficient than the other).

    anyone can help me? thanks a lot

    Actually we are implementing chat application for Jabber( XMPP Protocol). And i am writing the connection code and stream reading code in seperate Thread only. But the problem is, for the first connction i am able to contact server but for subsequent connections the server not recognizing the session which was started using other thread. Thats because i wanted to open connection and streams only once per application startup and perform all operations in that session only.
    Jabber is used for developing Google Talk also.

  • Compile report in 6i problem

    Hi All,
    Encounter a weird problem, scenario as below:
    Programmer A:
    (1) OS: WinXP
    (2) Database A : Oracle 8i, HP-Unix machine
    (2) report builder 6i: Create a report and connect to database A to compile and
    generate the rep file.
    (3)Distribute the rep file to branch office file server.
    End User B:
    (1)OS: WinXP
    (2)Database B: Oracle 8I, HP-unix machine
    (3)Execute rep file in report runtime which connect to database B
    Fail to run the report when execute it disappear automatically.
    But when connect to Database A, it can run it properly.
    And get the source and compile in Database B, the rep can run in both
    Database A and B ?
    p/s: All the object are exactly same in database A and B !
    Any idea ? Thanks in advance.

    Hi All,
    I have done some simple testing:
    function BeforeReport return boolean is
    begin
    if pu_check_ok then
         return (TRUE);
    else
         return (FALSE);
    end if;
    end;
    FUNCTION pu_check_ok RETURN BOOLEAN IS
    BEGIN
    return(pu_return);
    END;
    FUNCTION pu_return RETURN BOOLEAN IS
    cursor c1 is
    select 'TESTING'
    from dual;
    BEGIN
         open c1;
         fetch c1 into :CP_1;
         close c1;
    return(TRUE);
    END;
    When I compile this report in database1, and send to user to run run the report (*.rep) in database2, the report hang. FYI, when I check in System Monitor (tools in Win98), the Kernel Processor Usage reach to 100%.
    But, if I compile again by connecting database2 and run in database2, it can run without problem.
    Else, if I add another dummy cursor in function BeforeReport, it can be ran in both database1 and database 2.

  • Attempting to install a compiled 8.6.1 package fails with "NI Variable Engine (higher version already installed)

    This is long as there are a collection of details I thought would be useful.  Please bear with me.
    I have a VI compiled with LV 8.6.1 PDS.  The installer ran on the development machine and it works fine there (WinXP SP3).
    Was handed a laptop (another WinXP SP3) that already had LV 7.0 (academic) on it.  Someone was fiddling with an old version of LV.  OK.
    Wanted to uninstall 7.0 so there would be a clean field for the program compiled under LV 8.6.1.
    So: Start --> Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs and uninstalled "National Instruments Software".  That went smoothly.  It wanted a reboot.  Fine.
    Ran the setup program in my package, the one I'd wanted to install.  No errors.  The following installers were included with the Build:
      * NI LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 8.6.1
      * NI Measurement & Automation Explorer 4.5
      * NI DAQmx 8.8
    By the way, this generated an installation package of "almost" 900 megabytes.
    Connected the hardware (one ethernet-based, another RS-232 based).  Started the program, "EDGAR2".
    First error:
      Unable to locate the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine.
      EDGAR2 requires a version 8.6.1 (or compatible) LabVIEW Run-Time Engine.  Please contact the vendor of EDGAR2 to correct this problem.
    (This is Error1.JPG, attached).
    A check of C:\National Instruments\Shared\LabView Run-Time\8.6 shows that there is only one item in that directory: a sub-directory named "errors".  That's it.  If the executable is looking for something in the 8.6 directory, well, there's nothing there.
    Uninstalled EDGAR2 using the Control Panel.  Reinstalled.  Same problem.
    Downloaded the standalone LabVIEW Run-Time 8.6.1 installer, Standard Edition, from NI's site, unpacked, and ran the setup.exe from that package.
    There is one box with a green checkmark in it:  NI Variable Engine .
    Click Next.  Up pops a pane and Error2.JPG is attached.  It won't continue because the "detected" version of Variable Engine is of a higher revision.
    The "Next>>" button is grayed out.
    Uninstalled EDGAR2 again.  But there was no entry in the Windows uninstall panel for uninstalling any National Instruments software.  This raised a flag in my mind and NI Support was telephoned.
    With the Support Guy running Google searches for relevent topics (I'd done some of that, too), a number of things were tried.. ending up with deleting everything in C:\Program Files\National Instruments while in Safe Mode, everything in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\National Instruments, going through the Windows Registry with REGEDIT, uninstalls and attempted reinstalls.  Nope, nothing worked.  That defective Variable Engine seems glued into the system
    The application can't find the 8.6.1 run-time because it doesn't exist.  It doesn't exist because both the standalone and built-in installers see a Variable Engine of a higher version installed and apparently won't install over it.  There is no uninstall for any NI software in the Windows Control Panel --> Add/Remove pane and so I can't seem to get rid of this Variable Engine.
    At this point, the Support guy says, "Time to reimage your computer.  Call us for anything else.. you know we're here for you."
    This is the first trouble I've had installing a compiled VI.  All other packages built with 8.6.1 PDS just slid right in.
    There's been a LOT of software installed on the target over the years and going on the proverbial "scavenger hunt" to locate all of the installation disks will be a time-consuming task (a week is a conservative estimate).  Is there a solution to this problem?  Where are the installers "looking" for the Variable Engine revision level?  Is there a specific Registry key that can be adjusted?
    Went looking through the WinXP Event log.  No errors are popping up there.
    Your time is appreciated.

    Hi Mark,
    I'm sorry to hear your having trouble installing the LabVIEW 8.6.1 Run-Time Engine.  It sounds like there could be a few problems going on here.  First, you should have more options when installing the Run-Time Engine than just the Variable Engine.  If you uncheck the Variable Engine, does it try to install anything?  Second, not being able to install the Variable Engine suggests that there may be something wrong with your registry.  If you removed all National Instruments keys when cleaning the registry, then this shouldn't be a problem.
    At this point, there are a couple things I would suggest.  Unfortunately, the best solution would probably be to reformat.  It sounds like some low level parts have been corrupted and this would be the quickest way to fix everything for sure.  Other than that, you can try installing the full 8.6.1 Development System on the computer.  This will install the Run-Time Engine on the computer.  You can simply not activate the software, which means you won't be able to edit anything.  You will be able to run the program, though.

    This exception is because there are 2 different versions of your class.
    Whenever there is a change in the class properties or attributes,
    but server is using the old class file and in the jar file there is a change in class, so you get this InvalidClassException since there is a different version of class on server.

  • How to set classpath in WinXP Home edition

    Hello everyone,
    Recently I have try to run the HelloWorld java code, but it come up with a error. (Exception in thread main java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: HelloWorld)
    Java programming Code:
    public class HelloWorld {
    public static void main (String args[]) {
    System.out.println("Hello World!");
    I also try to compile another simple program, and it come up with the simpler error, (Exception in thread main java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Add16And23)
    Java programming Code:
    public class Add16And23
         public static void main (String[] args)
              int sum;
              sum=16+23;
              System.out.println("The sum of 16 and 23 is " + sum);
    HOW CAN I FIX THIS, I read other threads before, it say some about class path.
    Do anyone know how to set it, in winXP?
    Do anyone know the whole path that I should put in, in winXP?
    What should I type in the (User variables for windows) and (System variables).
    I have :
    * (j2eesdk-1_4-dr-windows-eval) downloaded and installed;
    *&#61623;WinXP Home edition Version 2002 Service Pack 1
    * My current Java path are (C:\Sun\AppServer\jdk\bin) in the (User variables for windows).
    Please help!!!
    Thank you all!!!

    I'm also windows xp.
    fllowing example:
    java_home=c:\j2sdk1.4.2_03\bin
    classpath=c:\j2sdk1.4.2_03\dt.jar;c:\j2sdk1.4.2_03\tool
    .jarThis won't fix a thing.
    When you run, do it like this:
    java -classpath . HelloWorldNote the "dot" after -classpath. That tells the class loader to look in the current directory for the .class files it needs.
    Read about how to run the javac.exe and java.exe tools in your javadocs. You'll have to learn about CLASSPATH. - MOD

    In the 'final timing (place and route)' report, the requested frequencies are all below the maximum frequencies and the compilation error message is only displayed at the very end on the 'summary' page.

    Hi Kyle,
    the problem is: I have one computer which compiles the VI successfully and a second one which shows that error. Both use the same software setup (LV2011SP1+RT+FPGA from DS2012-01). Both use the same project file - atleast SVN shows no difference.
    - You can have one FPGA VI where one computer is compiling successful and a second one complains. (Btw. I have a SRQ running in Germany on this topic.)
    - More problems: After successful compiling on first computer and transferring all to second computer (using SVN, including the full project folder with all files like bitfiles, lvproj, and everything) the second computer is unable to start the RT executable due to error "FPGA VI needs to recompile". Solution so far: Call the FPGA-OpenReference with the bitfile instead of the VI (as I used to do until now)...
    - More problems: After modifying the FPGA-OpenReference to use the bitfile (on the 2nd computer) and transferring all the files back to the 1st computer (using SVN as before, including the whole project) the 1st computer complains: FPGA-OpenReference is creating a different reference than is used in the VI. So what happens here? On one computer my VI is ok, the reference is typed correctly. Transferring all the files to a different computer the VI isn't ok anymore due to changes of the reference??? You know: all files are the same: lvproj, FPGA bitfile didn't change, cRIO reference didn't change...
    All those problems didn't occur on my RT-FPGA projects in LV2010SP1. I'm not pleased...
    Best regards,
    GerdW

  • Problem compiling simple servlet

    I am trying to compile a very simple servlet.
    When I do, I get the following error message:
    Package javax.servlet does not exist
    I am using the Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition Version 1.3.1.
    I have downloaded the servlet api (zip file servletapi2_1_1win.zip)
    from Sun's site. I unzipped these files in my lib directory; there are two folders,
    one called api and the other called src. Api and Src directories have their own
    sub-folders, javax/servlet/http etc.
    I am using W2K ; I had to create a CLASSPATH system variable in the environment
    variables section of control panel since there was none defined.
    I added the following line:
    C:\jdk1.3.1_01\lib\api\javax\servlet;C:\jdk1.3.1_01\lib\api\javax\servlet\http;
    I also did this for the PATH statement..
    My servlet looks like this:
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    public class howdy extends HttpServlet {
    public void doGet(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res)
    throws ServletException, IOException {
    res.setContentType("text/html");
    PrintWriter out = res.getWriter();
    out.println("<HTML>");
    out.println("<HEAD><TITLE>Hello World </TITLE></HEAD>");
    out.println("<BODY>");
    out.println("<BIG>Hello World </BIG>");
    out.println("</BODY></HTML>");

    Thanks. I was able to figure it out by specifying the
    full classpath
    at the command line, like this:
    C:> javac -classpath
    C:\jdk1.3.1_01\lib\servletapi2_1_1-win.zip\MyServlet.ja
    a
    Apparantly the system doesn't acknowledge the
    environmental variable that
    I created in the control panel; also I have no
    autoexec.bat file...so it
    looks like I have to write out the full path whenever
    I need to compile
    something. Kind of bothersome, but at least it
    works.
    You shouldn't have to do this. What operating system are you using?
    If you are using win2000, winNT or winxp, you should set the classpath in your system environment varialbes. You can also make a config.bat file and put everything in there. Then just run this config.bat file to set up your environment once for every session.
    Here's a file that I have set up on one of our NT machines. I just double click the icon for this file on my shortcut, and it gives me the window where I can compile my java programs.
    Hope this helps.

    A very common question. Tomcat dislikes classes which are not packaged. So, add a package statement in your UserBean.java
    package beans; // or something like thatand then place the compiled class file UserBean.class into WEB-INF/classes/beans.
    Put the import statement into the JSP accordingly and try again.

  • Upgrade path from old version of LabWin 3.1 and NIDAQ to WinXP system

    Hello,  I am trying to help folks at my old university lab recover from a Win95 PC failure with an old version of LabWindows, 3.1 (ca.~1997).
    They have  a WinXP PC and have installed the old 3.1 software on this PC.  My old projects will compile and mostly run, but they are having problems finding a version of legacy NIDAQ that will work in LabWin 3.1 and WinXP. Function calls simply return errors so far, although I suspect they may not have configured the DIO-48 card in NIDAQ yet and the version of NIDAQ they have may not have legacy support for the "easyio" library.
    Does anyone have experience with this?  If it is simply not possible, the second path is to have them buy LabWin2010, but I do not know whether the NI libraries (other than easyio which is easy enough to swap for std  NIDAQ fcn calls) have changed significantly and will require a large code rewrite for the GUI or other NI libs. Third option is to simply install Win95 if they can find disks, and use teh very old NIDAQ on the old PC.
    Alex

    Hi Alex,
    I have not seen this exact situation before, but I would be happy to help you out to find what you need. Can you tell me a little bit more about your setup? From what I understand, you have an old program written in LabWindows 3.1 and a DIO-48 card. Are there any other pieces of software or hardware in your setup? It looks like the version of traditionalDAQ you need is 4.9 or lower. Do you know what exact version you had been using? I have sent you a private message to get your email address so that I can send you this driver.

  • Java Compile Error  Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 14  for iOS

    When compiling one of my projects, I am getting this error suddenly:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 14

              at com.adobe.air.ipa.BitcodeGenerator.main(BitcodeGenerator.java:82)
    Compilation failed while executing : ADT
    but only when targeting iOS. fo Android only, it works fine. Anyone have any ideas? I also logged it as a bug.

    I get the I/O exception while reading: D:\Java\HelloApplet (The system cannot find the file specified). I have previously compiled HelloApplet.java into HelloApplet.class using javac.exe
    the two include statements in the sample HelloApplet I'm using are
    import java.applet.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    I also have a ComponentEventTest.java file which I've made into a class with these two
    include statements:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    I can however compile .java files which have no include statements.
    I take it that my classpath is not set correctly. Like I said earlier, I'm using winxp
    and trying to set the classpath variable under system. I have tried under user too. The path names I've tried setting are C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_02\, C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_02\lib, C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_02\include, and C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_02\;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_02\lib;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_02\include.
    How can I correct this? If it's possible, I would like to set a variable in windows
    versus having to type extra commands at the command prompt everytime I try
    to run a java class with java.exe. Any help would be much appreciated
