Compiling "write to jpg\bmp\png file" in Labview2011
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to compile a source code written in Labview 8.5 into Labview 2011.
In the old source code I used the "write BMP/JPG/PNG file" VIs.
I noticed that these VIs have changed in Labview 2011.
Either way (using the old or new VIs) I get an error (#1003 - Vi is not executable) when I try to run my compiled .exe file.
Did anyone encounter this problem?
Do you have any idea how to bypass this problem?
Thanks in advance.

I have LABVIEW 2011 Runtime engine installed.
I even reinstalled it, but the problem still remains.
Could it be you only installed the minimum run time engine (~32MB)? You definitely need the std (~210MB).

AE CC crash when drag jpg and png files to comp
Hi I have noticed photoshop exports of jpg and png files cause AE CC to crash when drag these files to comp Same jpg and png exported from CS6 do not cause crash.
What exact version of Photoshop CC are you using? 14.0, 14.1, 14.2?
How are you saving the PNG and JPEG files from Photoshop? File > Save As? Save for Web?
In After Effects preferences > Media & Disk Cache, is the Create Layer Markers from Footage XMP Metadata option enabled? Does the problem go away if you turn this off?
A similar problem recently occurred with files generated from Illustrator CC (17.1):
http://adobe.ly/1jlIykQ
However, we have no reason to believe the same problem would apply to files generated from Photoshop. I am not able to reproduce your problem with PNG and JPEG files saved from Photoshop CC (14.2), either from Save As or Save for Web. So either the conditions of your problem are more specific, or it is not related to the XMP Metadata problem. -
I write both JPG and DNG files in the camera. Camera is a Leica Monochrom. Photo, unlike iPhoto, seems to ignore DNG files and only imports JPG files when both are present on the SD card. JPGs are used for quick proofing on an iPad. DNG RAW files are edited on a Mac Pro (2013). Other than deleting the JPGs before importing images from the SD card, is there any way to force Photo to select and import only the DNG images?
Thanks Larry,
I did see the J stacked in the lower left of the thumbnails but couldn't figure out how to get to whatever is below it. How do you select R?
I use an iPad to do quick proofs of my images. A JPG is good enough for a proof ( dust on the lens, composition, blown out image, etc. ). The iPad is JPG friendly and can load the images quickly. Serious editing takes place on my Mac Pro with the DNG files. I use the same workflow with the the Leica M 240. iPhoto has been a quick and easy importer to the Mac capturing all of the metadata in the EXIF sidecar file ( location, date, time, camera settings, lens type). A quick scan in iPhoto for the "keepers" let's me export those worth editing to Lightroom/Bridge/Photoshop. I typically shoot 50 images from three locations in a normal day. If I'm lucky I'll get 1 worth real work to add to the portfolio. -
Opening JPG or PNG files without using PS
I want to open simple JPG's without using PS CC. Previously, I could open JPG's or png files with Apple's Preview; I would like to return to the simple and quick tool of using Preview.
I have looked and can not seem to find a way to open my JPG or PNG files without using Photoshop. Can you point me the way to accomplish this?
Thanks, BobJoe,
First, allow me to thank you for your reply.
Allow me to also explain that I am handicapped and have suffered the effects of five strokes in recent years and then ask for some more help from you.
When open any JPG image (or png, I think), it automatically opens in Photoshop CC (I also own PS 6). This is not the desired effect, as I would like to just see the images using Preview, which is the way it used to work (before I acquired the CC application, I believe).
I quickly tried to open an image using Preview (a PNG screen shot as you suggested), though I at a loss to use 'get info' command as you suggested, nor am I able to see the 'open with' from the drop-down in Preview. So I have to ask you for more instructions if you can assist me further?
I live in the Seattle area, if you can call me (I am always at home) at *removed for privacy*. If you could call me that would be great. With my impaired communications, I usually can understand verbal information better.
Thanks again for getting back to me.

Results in:
RuntimeError: Unsupported Image Type
from /home/max/.gem/ruby/1.9.1/gems/pdf-writer-1.1.8/lib/pdf/writer/graphics.rb:668:in `image'
Why?
edit - can't get rid of that mysterious newline in the code snippet ... weird? oh well, you get the idea
Last edited by synthead (2012-08-21 22:48:47)Hello,
I don't know about this error, but PDF::Writer is unsupported and it is recommended to use Prawn[1].
Couldn't the problem be that you are using Ruby 1.9.1 and PDF::Writer written for 1.8(just a guess).

Can't view the jpg n png files imported to stage
Why can I see only the above images in the library after importing them to the stage?
Thasnks in advance.
AnanIf you have the file you are trying to import, open in any other program (The image you are trying to import) it will not place it on the stage. I just tested this from an image saved as a png from microsoft digital image pro (yet MDIPro still had the original on its desktop while its program was still running) however cs5 acted dumb as if there was nothing to place. I closed the file in the MIDIPro program and Voila! Flash CS5 recognized it and dropped it in on the stage.

Can I turn a bmp, gif, jpeg, or png file into a hyperlink?
Hello,
I created an image on Photoshop Adobe, and what I'd like to do with this turn into a hyperlink that I can upload to a website. I was able to turn the pdf file with the same image into a hyperlink, but the website I'm trying to upload it to only accepts bmp, gif, jpg or png files. That's why I'm asking if there is a way to make an image file using what I've specified into a hyperlink. Thank you for any insight to my question. -KDNancy O. wrote:
An image is just an image. You need HTML or JavaScript code to make it into a hyperlink.
<a href="http://example.com"><img src="your_image.jpg"></a>
Unless the site you're uploading to is willing to wrap your image inside HTML code like the example above or JavaScript there is no way to make the image file link to anything on its own.
Nancy O.
But how is it that a pdf file is able to contain a hyperlink within the image and it takes me to my website? Where on the image.gif, etc., do I attach the code you've posted? The website I'm wanting to upload the image to, only allows the files with extensions I've already indicated in my op. Thanx for your reply and help. -KD -

is there an other possibility?
HenkHi - I'd recommend running the print diagnostic utility for starters. It should help isolate the problem and hopefully resolve it automatically. At the very least, it is a good starting point.
Hope that helps.

How do I convert file to gif, jpg, jpeg, png, bmp, or swf
I mad a page in COMIC LIFE. I saved it, then when i went on photobucket.com, it gave me a message saying
The file "" does not have a valid image extension.
Valid image extensions are: gif, jpg, jpeg, png, bmp, swf.
HOW DO I CHANGE IT?
ThanksI have never used Comic Life, so I can't tell you how to do it from there. But you could open it in Preview. Control-click the page in the Finder and choose Open with... set it to Preview. Once in Preview, do a Save As and change the Format there.

How to output 3D Surface Graph as image file (bmp or jpg or png)
I'd like to output a graph from the 3D surface.vi module as a regular
image (like a JPG or BMP). At this time, I'm going through an
awkward process of taking a screen cap, then isolating the image with
photoshop (painful and time consuming).
Any idea or input would be appreciated.RIght-click on the graph and "create...invoke node". On the diagram, select method "get image".
Save the output of "image data" as JPG, BMP, or PNG using the tools from the "Graphics Formats" palette.
(The code shows would get a 24bit PNG image)
See how far you get. Good luck!

Changing .bmp to .jpg to .png
Hi,
I have a bunch of .bmp files that need to be converted to .png files. Some of the .bmp files cannot be made into .png files without being converted to .jpg files first. The first action does the .bmp --> to .jpg. The second action finishes up the process converting the .jpg to .png.
I would make the change over into one long action: Process1. But when I convert one file to another and save to another location, I need to open that same file name with the different extension and then run the second process.
So I've got two separate actions now and run one after the other. Being on the lazy side, you know, one less click is a wonderful thing..., can I combine the actions or is there a way to do Process1 all at one time?
thanks for all help!make an action that saves a file to .png and then run it on the rest of the files. If you want to save using 8bit png then use File->Save for Web & Devices and make sure that you select png-8 otherwise use File->Save. Note that if you save using the Save for Web & Devices command then you will save all your files in the folder specified by it, it cannot be overriden using the Batch command. If you save the file using 24bit png(using File->Save) then when using File->Batch to automate the process make sure that Override Action "Save As" Commands is selected and select the folder where you want to save your files

Problems with loading .bmp or .png files.
When I try to load a .bmp (or .png) file (with the example from the LabView-Homepage) I do not get the picture. There are only lines which (I guess when they are in the right order) will display the image correctly. Can you help me?
Thanks,
Armin Herzer
P.S.: I'm using LabView 6.0 for LinuxHello,
yesterday I came across the following: If you save the PGM-Image as a BMP with the following command
convert 00.pbm 00.bmp
you ran into trouble with Labview (because the image is saved in a packed format). If you save the image with this command
convert +compress 00.pbm 00.bmp
Labview displays the image correctly (because packing is now disabled). I suppose, that Labview (at least the Linux version) cannot handle compressed BMP's correctly. You can verify the same with the Gimp. If you enable RLE packing, the image is distorted. If you disable it, everything is o.k.
By the way, I wasn't able to display a PNG Image (but I tried not all variants of saving it). JPG is not of interest, because the image
s that must be processed are not allowed to be compressed with information loss (o.k., I can use 0% compression mode, but then I can use BMP).
Can you verify this behavior with Windows too?
The PGM-Image is created by a C-Programm written by me.
This program acts as a driver for a Leutron LFS-AT framegrabber board and should be included in Labview as a CIN (if I find a way to display the images :-)
Thanks in advance,
Armin
