Complaining to Mac

Can anyone let me know how to complain to Mac?
I have had a reconditioned Macbook for a month and have had to take it back to the store twice already. The first time i took the machine back the "genius" managed to misdiagnose the issue and so I had to go back to the store and do a "quickdrop" I was promised the machine would be ready in 24-36 hours. It took 120 to get fixed. The logic board has been replaced and all seemed fine until I got the machine home last night and whoever rebuilt the machine didn't plug in the inbuilt audio so the speakers don't work.
Where can get a name to send a letter of complaint to?

I, too, have been having very similar problems. I tried to talk to a human being about my (already!) troubled Macbook which I bought this summer, and was told that no one could speak to me without charging £35!!! Since when is any sort of phone support not included in a warranty when one has paid good money for a sassy new computer??
I took my comp to a 'certified support centre' and it's taking over a month - I'm a chemistry student, and while all of my work has been backed up, all of my programs, etc, are on there. It is a nightmare, and I am absolutely furious, and yet am not able to actually speak to anyone at Apple! It certainly doesn't help that there aren't any actual Apple Stores close to Newcastle - the closest probably being Manchester or Birmingham. Supposedly there is one in Edinburgh, but it isn't listed on any of the websites... so, dont' travel with your Macbook.

  • Everyone's complaining about .Mac email or MacMail! But who has a solution?

Just like everyone on this discussion board, I am having a maddening increase in recent weeks of the following 1) duplicate messages appearing in my inbox after I've already deleted or moved them, sometimes more than twice depending if I keep trying to move/delete the same emails, they keep reappearing 2) messages I've read suddenly appearing as Unread, 3) delayed mail downloads, sometimes for even the smallest of files w/ no attachments. I'm having no other trouble with my ISP or other net software.
Although the increase of occurrences is recent, I've been having this issue all year in varying amounts of regularity and have posted before about the problem. I've been told I might be moving the files too quickly or not letting them download fully before moving them, but if this many people are complaining and if I have to wait 10-15 minutes each time my Mail software gets my mail from the server, then I want my $99 back. As it is, I want it back anyway given the problems and the inability to contact .Mac about the issue and get an answer.
I've combed the other posts about the issue, but I've not once seen a solution to the issue.
How do we get a fix and furthermore, how do we get .Mac to acknowledge this issue responsibly?

    Hello,
It has been acknowledged, and the fix will have to be at the server level, and not in the Mail application, nor by settings on individual Macs. Reports are consistent, even for those accessing with other mail clients, and non-Macs.

  • What happens to java in mac osx 10.9.5

    I'm working on a Macbook pro 2,5 Ghz, OS X 10.9.5
Im trying to run a program that works on java, the problem is that since its last actualisation the program doesn't open and shows the message: "Unable to run Java Runtime Environment".
I tried installing and actualising Java to its latest version on Mac (arguably this one: Version 8 Update 40). When I did so, the package didn't get installed and it showed the message: "trying to install Java 1.8.40.27, however 14.9.0 is already installed".
In the troubleshooting discussion of the software page i'm using (Zettlekasten, see: http://translate.google.de/translate?hl=de&sl=de&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fzettelkast en.danielluedecke.de%2Fwiki%2Fdoku.php?i…), programers suggest modifying the operative version of java from the Java Control Panel. The problem is that i cannot have access to such panel because i cannot find java in my computer. It is supposed to be in the utility folder located in the Applications folder, but it's not there.
My questions, how can i make Java Runtime Environment run in my mac?
How can i access to Java configuration in my computer if there is no java control panel or similar?
I'd be deeply grateful if somebody could help me... in the meantime i just complain on mac's unilateral decision of considering that there are, from their perspective, some useless plug-ins as they did with Java...

Hmm. I didn't have that problem - maybe the order you install them in matters.
I have Oracle java 8u40 and:
    Java for OS X 2014-001
both installed - they coexist because they install in different locations.
A visit to the oracle java web site shows I have 8u40, and in the Terminal I get:
    java -version
    java version "1.6.0_65"
    (so that's JRE6)

  • No Wake-On-LAN for powered-down Macs?

I'm relatively new to Mac and don't have a lot of Mac experience or knowledge. Last week I completed the "Mac OS X Deployment v10.4" training in Sydney where the trainer told me that Wake-On-LAN will only work if the Mac in question is in sleep mode -i.e., you can't wake up a Mac that has been shut down. Is this really true?
As an administrator of Windows machines this seems like quite a shortcoming. From where I am sitting I can rebuild any room of computers in any town in my area of control (an area greater than 100,000 square kilometres in NSW, Australia) without having to be there physically to turn on the PCs. At the moment our two Mac rooms are located at my own site, but without Wake-On-LAN, there's no way I could see Macs being deployed anywhere else.
If Wake-On-LAN really does only work with Macs in Sleep mode, then how much power does a 20" Intel iMac draw when in Sleep mode? I really don't like the idea of setting a schedule for every Mac to turn on at a certain time then have them go into sleep mode each and every day on the off chance that I might want to rebuild just one of them. This seems like an awful waste of power to me.
Don't get me wrong, here. I'm not trying to flame because I'm very - very - impressed with Mac in almost every other respect (except the Finder and the Dock) and would switch to Mac long before I stomach Vista, but no Wake-On-LAN to me seems like an incredible stumbling block to Mac adoption.
    Intel iMac 20"   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I've already complained of Mac's variation from the "standard" WOL implementation. This problem goes a step deeper as I just discovered.
If in the energy saver options you check the "Restart after a power failure event", the machine will do just that. If the power fails, and then comes back, the machine will boot.
If however, you cleanly shut down the machine, and then power fails, it does not turn back on when the power recovers. All PC's that have auto-power on with AC power restored set in their bios don't care if the machine was cleanly shutdown or crashed... when power comes back, it boots.
The problem here is that when a UPS detects a power failure and eventually decides to shut down the attached computer it should do so cleanly, not by just crashing it (that defeats the purpose of having a UPS!). After the computer turns off, the UPS will turn itself off, cutting power to the computer all together. When the AC power to the UPS returns, and the batteries charge sufficiently, it will turn BACK on, and restore power to the computers.
As it stands now, I have no mechanism by which to force my Mac to boot back up! I could depend on a linux machine on the network (that does behave properly) to send a WOL packet, but it doesn't do that correctly either... so I'm SOL
I can understand having 3 options for reboot after power restore. (1. Restore Always, 2. Restore when system on and power fails, 3. Never Restore).
Only giving us options 2 and 3 is just an oversight of how computers are used in the real world. For the desktop user that may on rare occasion find his machine powered off, and just presses the power button, this is a non issue... But in my opinion this completely eliminates a Mac like this from being used as a webserver/mailserver or other application where uptime is paramount.
I can't believe that Apple would overlook something so important and not provide a mechanism by which a UPS could turn a computer back on after a power recovery. Perhaps there is a non-published setting that doesn't have a check box on a form, that an OEM UPS driver would set that says "pretend you crashed".

  • Trying to understand Android OS updates delays

This is not another hate mail, it´s more about trying to understand the facts and motives regarding the OS updates (or lack of).
Hopefully this material will arrive at someone from Sony with enough power to do something about it.
Ever since I can remember, Sony has been THE brand for electronics. I can´t remember a TV or VCR in my house that it wasn´t Sony, and they lasted for LOTS of years.
When a couple years ago I finally had the money (and the need) for a Smartphone, i chose the X10 Mini, which is a great little phone from a great brand, but it´s stuck at Android 2.1... which makes it a crippled android nowadays...
It really bothered me the lack of OS updates, so I chose to buy a Galaxy Nexus, but it´s really expensive in my country. So my second option was a Galaxy Ace 2, but they haven´t arrived to my country yet, so I went with my third option: Xperia Sola, knowing beforehand that it´s a great phone, a great brand, but I might get slow OS updates.
I bought it about 10 days ago when I saw they were starting to roll out the updates.
10 days later I still don´t have my update. And not only that, but I don´t see much light at the end of the tunnel...
I found a thread with the SI numbers that were updated, and there were a bunch on Oct 1, another bunch on Oct 4, and one code on Oct 8, and no other update since...
I also read that those who did get the update, were having bugs with the OS, and also found threads from other Xperia models, whose updates began rolling 3 months ago, and there is still people who hasn´t gotten the update...
As a customer, and a owner/CEO of a small company, I have a really hard time understanding how a HUGE company like Sony can be making such mistakes...
I have been thinking objective reasons, and I can only think of one. I know it´s a wild guess, but I´m starting to think that our salvation might be the very thing that means our condemnation: CYANOGENMOD!!!
Think about it: Why would Sony spend more money hiring twice as much programmers, when they can make only one update per phone, and sit down and see how CM releases begin to appear, for all tastes and needs. And... IT´s FREE!!!
Also, if there is a software related problem (way more likely than a hardware problem), then the CM developers take the fall, instead of Sony. And I´m beginning to see custom OS installers that are more user friendly, so it might be something that they take in accout when neglecting OS updates.
If that´s the line Sony is following, it´s a very risky move and it won´t work. Sony Mobile will crash and burn, but it´s still a better business plan that "let´s get lazy and make ULTRA slow updates so we don´t spend a lot of money programming".
If you can´t afford more programmers, stop including so much bells and whistles and make your OS near vanilla. Include a couple of Xperia menus, a custom theme and voila!
The main reason I wanted the Galaxy Nexus is Vanilla OS, which means inmediate OS updates. Sony on the other hand, takes a year or two to release it after its launch. If they release it at all...
Another though...  why not stop making that many different phones! Really! There are like 5 Xperia models i can´t tell one from the other... even with specs side by side!
You are trying to make too many phones and you are failing with all of them! (Software and software updates are also part of the phone, one of the most importants...)
I know hiring programmers is expensive, but you are sacrificing one of the most expensive values for a company EVER: Customer credibility! Which as you know better than me, takes years to create.
If Apple had problems with carriers and code aprooving and stuff, they might get away with it, becouse they alone have all the devices. If iOS 6 is delayed a few months, it´s delayed for everyone, and besides Apple fanboys rarely complain about Mac products, but Android is a more independent and educated market.
I´m not saying that Apple users are ignorant, not at all, but I´m pretty sure most iPhone owners don´t even know what processor or how much RAM their phone has. They just "swallow" the Apple Way of Life. (it´s a good phone becouse Apple says so).
The Android user on the other side, because of the fragmentation of the market, has many brands and models to choose from. An Android user about to buy a new phone will most likely go online looking for different models, specs, reviews in webs and forums...etc.
You can´t say "I don´t know how HTC and other companies get their updates so soon, but we take a lot more becouse Google and the Operators must aproove the code.", because there are many other brands that have exactly the same difficulties or more, since they are smaller, and we can SEE online that they are indeed delivering solid and relativly fast updates.
Did we miss something? Does HTC use Witchcraft to get their code aprooved?
My underlying point is this: You are getting lazy... VERY lazy with software programming for your phones, and WE KNOW IT!
It´s not the "difficulties" you claim, becouse every brand has those difficulties.
This isn´t 1999 you know. We are in the information age. If you lie to us and tell us that your phones have the latest OS, I can go online and see that you don´t (Hello!!!). If I see that the company lies to it´s customers, I will stop buying their products. If I´m so dissapointed with how Sony handles OS updates and their customers queries about it, then I want for the first time ever to sell my Cell Phone becouse I´m not happy with it, or the brand behind it.
We also live in the "Here and now" age. You can´t expect your customers to read about new Android releases on news and blogs, and wait YEARS with arms crossed waiting for their update... The world doesn´t work like that. Not anymore at least...
It´s not a matter of how many recources you have, it´s about how you use and balance them. GIVE MORE IMPORTANCE TO SOFTWARE UPDATES! IT´S WAY MORE IMPORTANT THAT YOU THINK! LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!
You guys are Sony are smart and design great products, but you are not GOD! You are not our wife, no one has sworn alliagence to you.
If you stop giving us good products and start lying to us, we hate you and stop giving you our money. Simple as that.
My sola is beatiful, I love the design, the screen, the hardware... but it hasn´t been updated yet to 4.0, not to mention 4.1, which REALLY is the latest version... so stop advertising that your phones have the latest Android OS, unless you want angry customers switching to other companies, which you are getting.
I also read some stories that Androind 4.0 was announced for the Xperia PLAY, and then it was called off... Do you have any idea how pissed I would be and ripped off I would be if I bought my phone based in that information and then you say it won´t be available?
Well, actually right now my possition is worse, since you SAY you will update my phone, but you don´t say when, and I read online about people still not getting their updates months after the rollout started, so I´m in the limbo right now...
As a company, one of the worse things you can do is calling your customers stupid, and when I see the answers you give in this forum, then I feel insulted. I feel like they are talking to an idiot or ignorant person with the so called "diplomatic" answers, which are basicly empty excuses for not doing your job right.
You gave us the frikking CDs, DVDs and Blu-Rays!!! Don´t tell us you can´t tweak an already built OS in a year!
I really hope you change their OS update policies really soon, before you lose the already small cellphone market share you have, or at least change your P.R. and C.M. policies towards a more open one.
We all are humans and make mistakes, but we customers really appreciate honesty and truth.
Have an open conversation with your customers! Don´t lie about your shortcomings! Accept then and ask the community to help you solve them, ask them what they biggest problems are, what features are most important to them, how often do they expect updates... LISTEN TO THEM!!
"Succes is a meneace. It tricks smart people into thinking they can´t lose."
Ps: Nothing personal with the mods from this forum, I´m not killing the messenger, I know that you can ONLY give the info you are allowed to give, and even if you wanted, you probably don´t know the answers yourself, since you work in the Communications department, not Developement or anything technical, and if you can't give any given info, then they probably won´t give it to you either... My message is to the company as a whole. I just hope you will be a good messenger and give this to whoever needs to read it.

My bad, it´s closer to 40 the number of phones released hehe
I know it´s all about money, and I know Sony is obligated to neglect users who haven´t given them money after an x ammount of time. However, it´s not a matter of making the phones obsolete earlier, so the users want to buy a new phone faster and therefore getting more money.
A person will buy a new phone when he/she has the money to do so and wants to do so.
It´s not a matter of WHEN. It´s a matter of WHAT.
The question is not "When will that user buy a new phone?", but rather "When that user buys a new phone, whenever that is, what phone will it be?"
I have a love/hate relationship with Apple. I would never use a iPhone. I would love having any Mac, if someone gives it to me, but I would never spend my harn earned dollars on such an overpriced piece of hardware over general principals.
However, i do recognice that Steve Jobs was a business genius. Weather you like or love his ideas and methods, he turned a garage project into the biggest company in the world, with a market value higher than Exxon with 1/3 of it´s assets.
Apple is a money making machine, and that is where the "hate" part of my relationship comes from.
However, it surprised me a lot to see that they released iOS 6 for the iPhone 3GS, released in 2008!
That get´s you thinking, that inside all that "SELL NOW" culture Apple is, they also support their older devices that people bought years ago but can't buy a new phone now. However, when they can do it, it will surely be another iPhone. Because they FEEL that the company listens and cares for them.
Also if you jump from iOS 6 on the 3 GS to a brand new iPhone 5, the transition will be virtually non-existant, except for Siri and a couple of features.
However jumping from Android 1.5 or 2.1 to Jelly Bean, might not be so easy on some users, making them more likely to give iPhone a shot.
Since they have to adapt to another phone anyway, they might as well try the apple...
And for old users, it gives people a sense of continuity and care about the user. Otherwise we feel like being kicked out of a restaurant right after we payed the bill.

  • IPhone 1.1.4 and Leopard 10.5.1 and iTunes 7.6 - iPhone not recognized

I just upgraded to Leopard today(10.5.1) and now iTunes does not 'see' the iPhone. IPhoto sure picks it up every time, and that can't seem to be turned off. No control over iPhoto syncing. My guess iPhoto is 'stepping' on iTunes. Anyone else hitting this one!?

Thank you Jennifer. That was very helpful. I'm new to Apple MacOS. Not new to computing by any stretch however, having been a DE at Sun for 9 years, 2 years at Cisco and a couple of lesser known startups in Silly Valley. I hope their are more folks like you on these forums, and fewer like 'South Beach'. Thanks again for the iPhoto tip, that was very helpful. I did get the iPhone 'fixed' by re-installing the iTunes 7.6 pkg. You wouldn't happen to know how to turn off the boogus status icon in my launcher bar (top of screen) that complains about .Mac 'conflicts'? I don't have a .Mac account and don't want one. When I select 'review conflicts now' nothing happens, no dialogue, no new windows, nothing. This glyph appeared after I installed Leopard. I am less than impressed with this release from Cupertino.

  • Wrong hostname from DHCP

    Hi,
I've been  following a strange issue between Macs and Windows Server based DHCP for some time.
Mac's got their IP address via DHCP, just like Windows machines.
The compter name is set up in Sharing in System Preferences. Everything seems to be normal.
    Now the fun starts:
When I open a Terminal window I see a completely different name on the command prompt. This probably causes Apple Remote Desktop not to see some clients when they are on, because they have wrong hostname. ARD complains the Mac are offline when I can walk to the Mac and plainly see it's switched on and connected to the network.
So, my theory is, the IP Mac get's was previously assigned to an laptop computer, which goes off the network and the DHCP-supplied IP address is released and next get's assigned to a Mac. Somehow the hostname used by the previous IP lease holder sticks to the IP address and get's slapped to the Mac. Strangely this hostname overrides the name assigned on System Preferences.
Has anyone else observed similar behavior?

Maybe this should be in a different subforum...

  • Unprompted Screen Switching

Like many others have complained, my MAC is switching off screens umprompted.  I dont have Google drive and therefore that is not a fix to my problem.  I am running MAC OSX.  Any suggestions?  Here's what I have tried so far:
    1.  Disabling first three boxes under mission control.
    2.  Disabling any hot corners.
    3.  Shutdown and restart
    4.  Shutdown Chrome and used Safari
    5.  Revoking all Google permissions to all applications (i.e. FITbit, eVite, etc)
    Thank you in advance.

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • FTP Uploading Hidden Unix Files Fails

This problem has existed every since I first tried to upload files on a Mac via FTP (at least to my linux webserver).
It seems the hidden unix files used for indexing (or something) ( ie: ._ ) and exist for each file on the hard drive are the problem.
In the past I just setup a filter on my FTP client to omit those files, and I've heard there is another setting on most FTP clients that will solve the problem, but I'm wondering if there is an operating system tweak I can do.
I am trying to use the FTP client built into Adobe Lightroom, and it appears to be failing for the same reason, but I don't have any options to set that will fix it.
    Thanks a lot,
    DiFFeReN7

On a Mac, I've tried CuteFTP, a free Mac FTP client
and now the FTP client built into Adobe Lightroom.
On a PC, I've tried CuteFTP, FlashFXP, FileZilla, and
    maybe another.
On every single one I had to filter out those files.
Unfortunately, Lightroom does not have that
    capability.
I typically use ftp or sftp on the Mac and the same tools (via Cygwin) on the PC. There is also a nice open-source GUI for the Mac called Cyberduck.
Still, I don't really understand your problem. I haven't had any such problems on a Mac since MacOS X.
Yes, because Macs are not set to view hidden files.
In unix, a period . before a filename makes it
    hidden.
If I wanted to see them I would use the TinkerTool to
    display them.
No. On a Mac, these ._ files simply do not exist. They are part of the HFS+ file system. You still have a few "traditionally hidden" files like ".DS_Store" and ".Trashes" but the "._" files are different beasts altogether.
The only time you will ever notice these files is if you use access a non-Mac server such as Samba, WebDAV, or NFS on your Mac. Then, your Mac will try to "pretend" it really has an HFS+ file ssytem and create all those "._" files. All the other operating systems will be able to see them and their users will probably complain about Mac users messing up the servers. On a Mac, from the Finder, they will be hidden. On a Mac, using the terminal, you will be able to see them.
These files might also appear when you create a Zip or Tar archive on your Mac. In these situations, the Mac tries to archive "all" the information and will create the "._" inside the Zip or Tar file. I have an older version of Tar that I keep around so that it won't do this.
Are you trying to upload to an FTP server on a Mac? I have to tell you, I have never experienced any sort of problem like this. What you describe doesn't make any sense. You also say that it chokes on "._" files from you upload from a PC. Those "._" shouldn't exist on a PC. I'm really confused.
Perhaps you should try Cyberduck or sftp.

  • Help with constant crashing....?

I know this a common topic. I've already read up on a few the error messages that have been giving people problems (disk to slow, etc). The problem I'm having is just very general crashing 3 or 4 times an hour. It can happen for any reason, creating a new track, clicking on a plugin insert. Also this isn't the crash where the software shuts down and gives you a message, this is the mouse pointer spinning endlessly until you force quit the application. My system specs should be able to handle the processing power though I do use a lot of fx, but I generally freeze all my tracks and I only work in midi. I've got a duo core 2.66 intel, 3g of ram, 2 hard drives, etc. Can't work like this. Any suggestions. Also, people have mentioned complaining to Mac? Where the heck do I do that? Seems like that's just a one way correspondence via the apple site.

I've got a duo core 2.66 intel, 3g of ram, 2 hard drives, etc. Can't work like this. Any suggestions. Also, people have mentioned complaining to Mac? Where the heck do I do that? Seems like that's just a one way correspondence via the apple site.

  • IPhone not recognized after Leopard and iTunes 7.6 upgrade -- solution

I did the iTunes 7.6 upgrade and then the Leopard install this past weekend. Everything seemed to work fine until I tried to sync my phone... iTunes didn't recognize that it was there, although I had power, etc.
Briefly, the solution is to reinstall iTunes 7.6. It may well be that if you do Leopard and then 7.6 you're fine, but I ended up doing it the other way.
This link below is to the relevant thread on the iPhone forum:

  • IMacs running slow off Windows Server 2008

Currently the Creative Director and I are the only ones at our company working on Macs. We both are running OSX 10.6.8 on iMacs and we are having major slow loading time in Finder and very, very slow loading time working with Adobe files (PSDs/AIs/INDDs).
The company I work for has been bought out by another company and they had their tech guys come in to install a server.. I have recently found out that it is a Windows Server 2008. We were told to transfer our files to this server and ever since have been having problems. I have tried to communicate with some of the techs and they either complain about Macs or are not that familiar with Macs. They don't have any other designers at their company, so I am not sure how to get them to understand the issue.
I have done some research and found others with similar problems, but I am not really finding a solution or a discussion that is very recent. I think this is a problem that has been around for awhile, but we are new to it. The problem seems to be with the SMB sharing.
We would be grateful if anyone had any insight or infomation regarding working off a Windows Server 2008 from a Mac or whether we should recommend us working off a Mac Server which is backed up to the main server.
    Thanks!
    Aa

    Appreciate it Ed.
I let our boss know about Extreme ZIP and forwarded the link to our IT team. Although we haven't gotten a response back yet, I am thinking that a mac server would be a cheaper purchase overall since it wouldn't be a reoccuring monthly charge.
If we were to convert one an extra Mac Pros to a Lion Server, is it possible to have that backed up or connected to the Windows Server 2008? Or would we need to do that the Mac Pro. Not sure how to word this, my lack of experience in servers shines through here.
Really trying to save us from switching to PCs, thinking if we can convert the Mac Pro to a Lion Server it would be our least expenseive route.
    Thanks again,
    Aaron

  • My Mac Book Pro has slowed to less than a crawl (possibly from a worm or virus).  How do I make sure it's running at peak efficiency before I complain to comcast

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them; in that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
Restart the router and the broadband device, if they're separate. Any change?
Run Software Update and install all available updates for OS X or the computer's firmware. Any change?
If possible, connect to the router with an Ethernet cable and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?
Are any other devices on the network, and if so, are they the same?
If you can connect to more than one network, are they all the same?
Are all network applications affected, or only some? If only some, which ones?
Is networking always the same, or is the problem intermittent?
Disconnect all other devices from the network. Any change?
If you're running a MacBook with the lid closed, open the lid. Any difference?
Start up in safe mode and test. Any difference?
Start up in Recovery mode. From the OS X Utilities screen, select Get Help Online. A clean copy of Safari will launch. No plugins, such as Flash, will be available. Any difference?
If possible, turn off Bluetooth and disconnect any USB 3 devices. Any difference?

Is there a MBPro equivalent to PMU reset on my Pismo:
    Unplug from AC
    remove battery
hold down power button 10+ seconds
    replace battery
    Plug up
    power on
this is also supposed to zap the NVRAM. zapping PRAM is always recommended in this process for good measure.
thought you might get a kick out of this from my Mail Client inbox - note just before the " ... "

    good luck with this one.

  • How do I complain about a broken app sold in the Mac app store?

I bought Viewfinder from Connected Flow Ltd originally from their website. It stopped working under Mountain Lion which hindered my usual workflow.
I was excited to see that it was availalbe on the App Store and subsequently bought it again (some AUD$20 worth) because I figured it must be compatible if it was being sold. The version I have is 1.1.1(41) and it's totally useless full lock and freeze EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.
The app is no longer in the app store and the vendor is non responsive to all inquiries.
Can someone please advise what the process is for recovering my money for goods that aren't fit for sale?
    Cheers,
    Stuart.

I would be pretty upset about this too.
    Read this KB article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2727
It does not specifically recommend this as a solution, but there is a "Report a Problem" link on that page:
Try that, and follow up with an email to App Store Support:
