Complex flow in PI

hello,
i want send a very important question to very expert in PI BPM.
I created a interface using Async-Sync bridge.
On details:
i have a JDBC (Async) -> PI -> JDBC (Sync) -> PI -> RFC (Async)
Everything ok but...
I would like use RFC in Sync mode instead of Async , and...send the RFC response to another JDBC channell.
what do you think??? it's possible?? how??
Thanks in advance
Alessandro

Design your BPM like this:
Receive(JDBC1Req) -
>Transfformation(JDBC1Req_to_JDBC2Req) -
>SyncSend(JDBC2Req, JDBC2Resp) -> Transformation(JDBC2Resp_to_RFCReq)->SyncSend(RFCReq, RFCResp)>Transformation(RFCResp_to_JDBC3Req)--> AsyncSend(JDBCReq).
Request : mapping between Async outbound message and Sync inbound
Response : mapping between Sync outbound and Async Inb. (the RFC)
If i am not wrong you cannot define a mapping between a Async and Sync MI.....your source and target MIs have to be either Async or SYNC.....
Just create your BPM as per the steps which I gave....also has a mention of what mapping you will need and between what Interfaces......
As a good practice when you are making a Sync Call, include your Sync Call inside a Block Step (which has Exception Branch defined) so that you can raise an exception/ alert if something goes wrong in the SYNC call........

Abhishek.

  • Replacing Oracle WorkFlow

    Hi,
    The client, I am working for don't want to use Oracle Workflow for some reason.
    But I need Oracle Workflow Manager Schema to deploy my Process flows. So is there a way to deploy the Process flows without the Oracle Workflow Manager Schema? Is there any script which can do that?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Harsha

    Hello, OWB process flows can be run in an XPDL compliant workflow engine, if you deploy to XML and then load the generated files. The question is, with what do you want to replace Oracle Workflow... You can even run a sequence of mappings directly without any workflow software, maybe through a shell script or a stored procedure, but this works only if you don't have complex flows.
    If you need more info about the XPDL standard and other workflow engines (open source and commercial), see www.wfmc.org.
    Hope this helps - Antonio

  • Implementation Of AIA on Oracle Service Bus

    Hi all,
    Anybody implemented AIA on Oracle Service Bus ?
    How much time will it take to implement this compare to AIA on SOA ??
    Can we refer this to client ??
    How was the performance ??
    Please refer to the URL below
    www.oracle.com/us/products/applications/057298.pdf
    Thanks
    Phani

    Anybody implemented AIA on Oracle Service Bus ?
    We implemented AIA2.3 on OSB 10gR3 for one of the top 3 PC makers.
    How much time will it take to implement this compare to AIA on SOA ??
    Initial setup (customizing EOL and removing conflicts etc) will take some time and effort. Once that is done building new flows is comparatively faster than to do so on SOA Suite. Though it will also depend on the complexity of the flows, more complex flows will be easier to develop on SOA suite.
    Can we refer this to client ??
    It completely depends on the requirements of the client. If they have a lot of stateless and simple/medium complex services to be built, its a good idea to use OSB. If a lot of stateful and complex flows need to built it would be better to use SOA suite. Also, the features and use cases of SOA Suite and OSB are different, so you would need to do a comparative analysis and see which products features suit your needs better.
    How was the performance ??
    Unfortunately because of some bad decisions during design there were certain problems faced during performance testing. Since AIA schema definitions are capable of carrying a lot of business data of an entity (a product or customer or asset for e.g.) the message sizes may become huge which causes a lot of problems. If you keep message sizes in control and any XQuery or XSLT transformations to be simple and properly tuned you should not face much problems. If you have a lot of transformations it would make sense to spend on an XML appliance as well. The same would be true for SOA suite as well, even SOA suite wont perform well if there are complex transformations on huge messages.

  • Dividing One large Image to many smaller images

    Dear Java developers,
    I have 1 Large Image, and I want to divide it
    into many smaller images, But I don't see
    any Java API to make it...
    Anybody can help me ?
    Thanks in Advance,

    I'd guess using BufferedImage and subimages thereof is faster than filtering it. Although it depends much on the implementation of the original image source, and its caching strategies. But it's pretty certain that when you are creating a BufferedImage which is appropriate for you current color model, you avoid most conversions which may be needed when rendering directly from an image source.
    Having said that, the image source and filtering way may even use more memory and cpu than the buffered image way. At least temporary. But the image source is allowed to release almost all memory associated with the image, down to retaining only the original URL.
    In simpler words:
    - With BufferedImage you can be quite sure how much memory it will need. Add up the space needed for the Raster and auxiliary data and there you are. It won't change much over time. But it's not present in JDK 1.1.
    -- Simple, predictable and modern.
    - ImageSource is pretty much opaque in how much memory it will use. However, it's interface allows dropping most resources and re-creating them on demand. Of course, you'll know what it does when you're implementing it yourself. Which I tend to do from time to time.
    -- Complex (flow control), opaque but present in JDK 1.1.
    Your mileage may vary. There would be no challenge in programming if there were no tough decisions to be made ;-)

  • What is exact difference between table and template in script

    hello all
    what is exact difference between table and template in script

    Hi there.
    Tables alow you to achieve more complex flows with internal tables. You can use different types os lines, like footer, header, line items, and differente types of line items. Also, and most important, you have different processing blocks, again header block (processed before processing of first row), body block (rows) and footer block (after last row or page break).
    If you don't need any of this, use a template inside a loop to achieve something like a table. I personaly use templates only to draw lines, for example, before and after a loop, or to align some header in my documents.
    A table, is a loop and template mixed to become a very good tool.

  • Why we need XML?

    hi,
    Why we need XML.?(we have ascii file format is a gentral format, to access all plateform,why not we didn't follow.?)
    like XML:
    <contact>
    <name> java</name>
    <age>25</age>
    </contact>
    flat files:
    contact name:java age:25
    i feel flat file is small and easy .....why we didn't use it.........?

    PS - Jos, how's the weather in your garden today?
    (Rainy and cool here.) Well picture this: both of my parrots are trying to
    sleep in their own hollow
    coconut, slightly disturbed by some silly squeaky
    bird at the other side
    of the barn. The fish in the pond are sort of
    sunbathing between the
    floating leafs, my wife seems to be in a catatonic
    state sleeping all the
    time and then there's me in front of my little laptop
    (protected by a silly
    little green umbrella like thingy, the laptop that is
    ;-)A nice image indeed.
    It's been one wet spring here. It's very cool and overcast, threatening more rain. I'm sitting in my office working away on getting my head around Spring. I've been going through Rob Harrop's "Pro Spring" slowly and carefully, making all the code work and taking little side trips to set it into my head. Rod Johnson's team is doing a great job, in my opinion.
    I still feel that the Spring framework, the web part
    of it, is as some sort
    of a corset, a hindrance. I feel like I'm all
    dressed up but nowere to go
    because Spring or something else I don't know about
    forbids me ... I
    know that I have it wrong alltogether but I can't get
    a grip on it. Not sure what the impediment is, but then I don't understand all the nuances of Spring yet. Maybe their newer web flow stuff might help. It models a UI as a state machine, so you can do more complex flows from page to page. The finite automata underneath will appeal to your inner mathematician. 8)
    btw. it's in
    the lower thirties here (celcius); that makes it in
    the lower nineties (fahrenheit).
    btw, YoGee helped me a lot yesterday.No surprise there. YoGee sure is smart. While I was reading the thread I wished that I had seen it first. You've been so helpful to me so often that I would have enjoyed reducing the trade deficit I have with you. I know that particular problem with Tomcat and JSTL well.
    Yep, I'm working on a large ('Dutch-wise' speaking
    that is) optic fibre
    network. Technically this network works great.
    Managerially speaking
    ahem there's nothing yet: no services, no control
    of services, no
    network checking stuff, no customer (crm) stuff, no
    nothing. Those folks
    want me to do it all. Sounds like a great problem. Could be an engagement to carry you through the summer.
    Yes, that particular part gave me blood behind my
    eyes: I did everyhing
    according to the book and that crap simply refused to
    work. It turned out
    that I was trying to develop something against wrong
    versions of several
    components. In a certain way I'm a believer, i.e.
    when I finally do understand
    what it's all about I "walk this way" when the
    documentation tells me to
    "walk this way". When that turns out not to work at
    all I want my pink
    inflatable axe again (or worse ;-)I like Tomcat, but I think the docs are sketchy. This seems to be a common problem.
    No, I feel reluctant to introduce yet another
    technology while I'm still
    struggling with the ones I found necessary to use.Me, too. I'm overwhelmed by all that I don't know. That's why I'm taking the time to get all the way through Spring once. I've been reading and dabbling, but I haven't given it enough concentrated attention to have it under my fingers. I've got three personal projects lined up once I get through "Pro Spring" that should set it into my head nicely.

    By the way, I decided to buy a copy of IntelliJ. I've never paid for an IDE, but since I've gotten used to it at work I don't want to be without it. I've never championed an environment as much as I do this one. I used Eclipse for several years and was glad to have it, but I'd still find myself slipping out and using a text editor to do quick things. IntelliJ doesn't get in my way. It's completely eliminated any temptation to use a text editor. A terrific product that's only getting better with time.

    I'm not a GUI guy myself, far from that and I'd like
    to stay away from it as
    far as possible. As I wrote above I feel "all dressed
    up but nowhere to go".
    I've got my beans all ready, my DataSources are all
    solid and sound; I
    can see that everything works (from the logs), but
    that darn web stuff
    keeps on pestering me ...I think the UI is always the hardest part. Everything from the service layer back can almost be generated from the beans and tables: Hibernate mappings, DAOs, service layer, JUnit tests for the whole thing. A few nice annotations and you've got the whole thing. Just the UI beast left to tame...

    I think I'll take another Grolsch and chase that

  • Complex condition in process flow transition

    From a mapping i have three outgoing transitions:
    1: "KM_UTIL_PKG"."GETTESTMODE"() = 0
    2: "KM_UTIL_PKG"."GETTESTMODE"() = 1
    3: unconditional
    the process flow validates ok, deploys ok but when it is executed the error message is :
    ORA-06550: line 1, column 1085: PLS-00201: identifier 'KM_UTIL_PKG.GETTESTMODE' must be declared ORA-06550: line 1, column 1058: PL/SQL: Statement ignored.
    Although the function is there.
    What am i doing wrong ?. Has anyone an example of the expected syntax in the transition condition editor > complex condition window ?
    Ron

    Try giving just = 0 and = 1 without the function call, as the function call is already appended in the where clause.
    For example I was able to make it work by just giving IS NULL and IS NOT NULL.
    Also there is VALIDATE button within the window where we give the complex condition. Try to validate the condition there itself.
    Best,
    Manohar

  • Set complex condition of process flow transition by OMB skript

    Hi,
    i would like to set a complex condition for a process flow transition with OMB+.
    If i use:
    OMBALTER PROCESS_FLOW 'somename' ADD TRANSITION 'yyy' FROM ACTIVITY 'a' to 'b' SET PROPERTIES (TRANSITION_CONDITION) VALUES ('some complex condition')
    the skript sets the condition but the radiobutton within the transition condition editor still point to 'Enumerated Condition' and the complex condition editor sheet, where my condition should be printed is empty. But the Object details within the Process editor shows my condition correct.
    We use 11gR1 11.1.0.7.0 (OWB & DB).
    Has anybody a clue if i am able to set the transitioncondition to COMPLEX ? Or is it a bug ?
    Your Help is appreciated, thanks
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas
    You use the property COMPLEX_CONDITION on the activity for complex transition condition expressions.
    Cheers
    David

  • R/3 data flow is timing out in Data Services

    I have created an R/3 data flow to pull some AP data in from SAP into Data Services.  This data flow outputs to a query object to select columns and then outputs to a table in the repository.  However the connection to SAP is not working correctly.  When I try to process the data flow it just idles for an hour until the SAP timeout throws an error.  Here is the error:
    R/3 CallReceive error <Function Z_AW_RFC_ABAP_INSTALL_AND_RUN: connection closed without message (CM_NO_DATA_RECEIVED)
    I have tested authorizations by adding SAP_ALL to the service account I'm using and the problem persists.
    Also, the transports have all been loaded correctly.
    My thought is that it is related to the setting that controls the method of generating and executing the ABAP code for the data flow, but I can't find any good documentation that describes this, and my trial and error method so far has not produced results.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Matt

    You can't find any good documentation??? I am working my butt off just.......just kiddin'
    I'd suggest we divide the question into two parts:
    My dataflow takes a very long time, how can I prevent the timeout after an hour? Answer:
    Edit the datastore, there is a flag called "execute in background" to be enabled. With that the abap is submitted as a background spool job, hence does not have the dialog-mode timeout. Another advantage is, you can watch it running by brwosing the spool jobs from the SAP GUI.
    The other question seems to be, why does it take that long even? Answer:
    Either the ABAP takes that long because of the data volume.
    Or the ABAP is not performing well, e.g. join via ABAP loops with the wrong table as inner.
    Another typical reason is to use direct_download as transfer method. This is fine for testing but it takes a very long time to download data via the GUI_DOWNLOAD ABAP function. And the download time would be part of the ABAP execution.
    So my first set of questions would be
    a) How complex is the dataflow, is it just source - query - data_transfer or are there joins, lookups etc?
    b) What is the volume of the table(s)?
    c) What is your transfer method?
    d) Have you had a look at the generated abap? (in the R/3 dataflow open the menu Validation -> Generate ABAP)

    Obviously, as seen above, I'm doing something wrong or Live View does not do all the functions that Design View use to do.  I realize I can still access Design View in non-Fluid Grid Layout documents and that is my current work-around.  I copy from my Word file into Design View available in non-Fluid, then copy that code into my Fluid Grid Layout document, not real efficient use of my time.  And, even that work-around may not be available after the next upgrade.

    Hans thank you for your reply and attention to this matter.  Moreover, with your steeped expertise I do not, in any fashion, intend to be flippant or capricious.
    However, I do not believe the reply is on point since I'm not discussing the insertion of an HTML tag/element; but rather, the placing of complex formatted text into my various web pages.
    Design View and  2014.1 Live View seem to serve different functions.  That is, Design View, for us, serves as a highly sophisticated HTML5 code generator that allows us to properly display complex formatted text that originally is created as a Word docx file.  As I noted in my original post, the complex formatted text from the Word file is then pasted into Design View and thus properly renders on the web page.  I invite you to try this yourself.  Simply copy my properly formatted text in my original post (that can be found at "Using Design View the web page rendered this way:") to a Word file, and it will retain the complex formatting, then copy that Word file text to both Design View and  2014.1 Live View files.  Please apprise me of your results.
    Discussion has been had in at least two separate threads on the Design View disappearance in Fluid Grid.  In https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1597260 staff member Lalita wrote "It would be helpful for us if you list the issues you are seeing with fluid grid live view editing."  And in https://forums.adobe.com/message/6807088#6807088 staff member Subhadeep wrote "If you can list down the workflows you are trying while editing in Live View & the issues you are facing in doing so, it will help us understand what is amiss & suggest alternative workflows to do the same."  I believe I've pointed out issues when attempting to use Live View for functions or work flow that customarily had been done in Design View.
    Being a CC subscriber, if someone can provide me with a workflow using other additional Adobe products to get my complex formatted text from Word ultimately to my Dreamweaver web page, be it an image insert or whatever, I would take the suggestions.
    The difference in the coding of my example in my original post is as follows.
    Code when using Design View is:
    <p><strong>Research &amp; Analytics Director</strong><br>

    It is readily apparent that Design View is a much needed code generator in the Dreamweaver product.  Live View serves completely other, and needed, purposes.  Therefore, I still, after all the forum discussions, do not understand why Design View has been removed from Fluid Grid.
    Again Hans thank you for your reply.  But unless I'm missing something, citation to the links you provided does not solve my problem.  And that problem is this: If Design View is on its way out and thus will be completely removed from Dreamweaver at some point, then how do I provide my information (i.e. complex executive job descriptions) on my website?
    Apparently a vote is taking place https://forums.adobe.com/ideas/3922 on the issue of placing Design View back into Fluid Grid.  I do not understand why the need for two rather disjunctive functionalities are at the mercy of the democratic process.  These are matters of engineering principles not "town hall gatherings".

  • Human tasks, complex types and variable assignment.

    Hi folks,
    I encountered a problem while working with 10.1.3.1 which I haven't managed to solve yet and would be grateful for assistance. I have defined a complex data type (just a sequence of strings) and want to fill that data type by going through a flow of screens, e.g. through several human tasks. I have defined that type as a variable to the BPEL process and have managed to assign simple expressions to the variable and pass that into a Human Task. In the task I see now a simple input form for all attributes of the type.
    Now the problem. After I fill out the form and complete the human task, I have
    The global variable:
    <outputVariable>
         <part xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" name="payload">
              <MyProcessResponse xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/VacationRequest">
                   <vorname/>
                   <nachname/>
                   <strasse/>
                   <nummer/>
                   <postleitzahl/>
                   <stadt/>
                   <maximaleDauer/>
                   <minimaleDauer/>
              </MyProcessResponse>
         </part>
    </outputVariable>
    and the return value from the human task:
    <task>
         <title>CaptureData</title>-
              <payload>
                   <MyProcessResponse>
                        <vorname>David</vorname>
                        <nachname>Beckham</nachname>
                        <strasse>HighStreet</strasse>
                        <nummer/>
                        <postleitzahl/>
                        <stadt/>
                        <maximaleDauer/>
                        <minimaleDauer/>
                   </MyProcessResponse>
              </payload>
    </task>
    Now the only thing I would like to do is to replace the original values in the variable with the new values that have been returned from the task, this should be performed in an extra assign step. Sounds simple. JDeveloper wouldn't even let me klick through the return value from the HumanTask, so it seems as if I have to do things manually.
    These are my tries:
    Command 1:
    <copy>
         <from variable="CaptureData_1_globalVariable"
    part="payload" query="/task:task/task:payload" />
    <to variable="outputVariable" part="payload"

    --> There is one MyProcessResponse element too many

    </copy>
    Result 3:
    --> Task does't return (!!!). In the BPEL Worklist, the task is completed, however in the BPEL console it still apears as "waiting to return from Human task".
    Does anyone have a hint on how to copy the values so that I get exactly the structure that I printed at the very top?
    Thanks for help. Rock On !

    Hello everyone,
    It seems that we are talking about different things, I am afraid. Let me describe the scenario once again:
    - I want to have a BPEL process with more than one role involved
    - This process should be used to gather some complex data.
    - All data gathering should be done through HumanTasks.
    So I defined an xsd complex type, that contains a sequence of fields. This complex type should be part of the process payload.
    Now before HumanTask 1 is called, I copy the contents of this variable into the input for tasks1. This works fine and I see the appropriate values, when opening the Human Task in the BPEL worklist application.
    Now after HumanTask1 is completed, the values I entered inside that tasks are returned as a variable from the HumanTask. My problem is, that I cannot copy the contents of the task back into the main process. With simpleTypes this is relatively ok, since Jdev supports the assembling of the copy operation, however for complex tasks it fails.
    A typical scenario for this would be where e.g. a customer fills a shipping address and afterwards a store staff fills product details in the same order. In Java this could be solved via "pass by reference". Who can provide an example?

  • Experts VS Process Flows on OWB 10g Release 2 (Paris)

    I was looking at the the new features list for OWB 10g Release 2 (Paris), and I notices the new feature called Experts. Does anyone have any insight into when an Expert would be used instead of a Process Flow? It doesn't look like Process Flows are going away, so I was trying to get a grasp of the use for Experts.
    From Here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/warehouse/htdocs/owb10gr2%20new%20features.htm
    Experts. Experts are solutions that enable advanced users to design solutions that simplify routine or complex tasks that end users perform in Warehouse Builder. You can design these solutions in the Expert Editor which resembles the Process Flow Editor and shares many of the same commands and navigational tools.

    Hi,
    Just to start with the Experts capabilities, they can be used for designing schema objects.......I tried with an expert for sampling the source files, creating External Tables on top of it....validating and deploying..........itz very interesting to work with.........I am unable to see the practical use of this for end users.....
    where as we all know, the PF can only be for executing the deployed objects.....

    Error in evaluate <from> expression at line "97". The result is empty for the XPath expression : "/ns3:TotalBPELProcessRequest/ns3:sourceConn".
    *=========*
    Please tell me if you know how to solve it. Thanks

    It sounds very much like a namespace issue.
    As it works from the BPELConsole, fill in the values in the BPELConsole initiate page and switch from the HTML to the XML view. Copy the XML to Notepad or another suitable editor; then insert it as fixed values into the Java/JSP code and try to call the server with the hardcoded payload instead of the one you are generating.
    You can also save the payload in the JSP (write it to a file or standard output) before the call; then open it in jDeveloper or Eclipse and validate it against the schema. That way you will find if the XML is invalid.
    Also, check the flow in the BPELConsole. As it fails on an XPath expression you must have a process. If you click on the receive activity you can see the received payload. Again, copy that to jDeveloper or Eclipse and validate it. Also compare it to the XML you get if you initiate the process manuallly. There must be some difference.
    If you still can't get it to work, post the XML from the initiate operation and from the JSP operation (as they are seen in the receive activity) and we can help you check them out!

  • How to bind a complex object to a composite component

    I'm using JSF2 and having an issue binding an object (EL Expression) as a parameter to my composite component.
    I have written a composite component (not very complex) that will display a drop-down list of countries and should bind the selection to a provided target bean.
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

    </composite:interface>
    <!-- IMPLEMENATION -->

    <h:panelGrid columns="2">

    <h:panelGrid id="country" columns="1" styleClass="select-one-menu-panel" >
    <h:selectOneMenu id="country-list"
    enabledClass="select-one-menu-enabled" disabledClass="select-one-menu-disabled"
    layout="pageDirection"
    value="#{cc.attrs.target}"
    required="true" requiredMessage="#{cc.attrs.requiredMessage}"
    >
    <f:selectItem itemLabel="#{msgs['label.pleaseSelect']}" itemValue="" />
    <f:selectItems value="#{countryController.countries}" />
    <a4j:ajax />
    </h:selectOneMenu>
    <a4j:outputPanel id="country-list-error-panel" ajaxRendered="true">
    <h:message id="country-list-error" for="country-list" style="color:red"/>
    </a4j:outputPanel>
    </h:panelGrid>
    </h:panelGrid>
    </composite:implementation>
    </html>
    I want to be able to use the composite component in the following way:
    <util:country-select
    label="#{msgs['label.countryOfBirth']}"
    requiredMessge="#{msgs['error.birthCountryRequired']}"
    target="#{participant.countryOfBirth}"/>
    When I load the page everything renders correctly, but when I select an item from the drop-down I get a validation error.
    apply-form:j_idt77:country-list: Validation Error: Value is not valid
    I know that it must be something with the way that I have the parameters defined but I simply can't find any information to help me figure this out.
    Any light that you might be able to she on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you for the help...

    Hi,
    well, you can. What the ADF Data Control and thus the binding gives you is the JSF component binding and the business service access.
    If you don't want to use ADF, then what you can do is
    - Create an ADF BC root Application Module from a managed bean
    e.g. see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/web.1111/b31974/bcservices.htm#CHDDDBFC
    - Access the View Object for querying the data to display
    - Expose the queried data so the component can handle it e.g. setter/getter for input components, ArrayList for tables (or you create the more complex component models like table and tree models)
    Having outlined the above, here are some gotchas to watch out for
    - Make sure creating the root application module is done such that you don't create/release it with each request. So you may consider a data serving managed bean in a scope like page flow or session
    - Ensure you have helper methods that allow you to query and CRUD operate the View Object data

  • Color shifting of a complex object

    I have a bitmap image of a flower that I would like to fade
    from one base color to another (i.e. red, orange, yellow, white,
    pink, etc). The image is moderately complex with two or three dozen
    shades in the image. Is there an easy way to do this?
    I feel like I should know the answer...maybe staring at the
    screen the last 18 hours has rotted my brain...

    This kind of thing can be a little tricky. But I have a
    solution for you, you will need to determine your pallet colors and
    put them in the array, in the object format as indicated. And
    because it's a prototype construction, you call call the method
    anywhere, on any mc instance.
    Try this:
