Complicated system

Hi Folks,
I did a bad job with linux+php+apache installaion on linux redhat 3.
Firstly, i've installed PHP5+Apache2 and they worked well.
one thing that i miss is i can't talk to oracle database.
After that i decided to remove them all just remove those folder related to php+oracle+apache .
And i started to install php4+apache1, yet it didn't work.
i then back to php5+apache2...
Finally, i got a complicated php+apache+oracle installation. none of all work...
can anyone help me to completely wipe them out and i can start from scracht again.
A lot of thnx for your help.
Lux

Paul,
A good source of community based FPGA examples can be found at
www.ni.com/ipnet
There are a variety of FPGA code examples that have been put up by National Instruments Developers and LVFGA users. It maybe a good resource for what you need.
I hope this helps!

  • Turning on Wifi crashes system

I've finally taken the plunge into the Mac world and bough a mini. When I turned it on and went through the welcome screen and entered my wireless details it froze completely. When I rebooted it kept crashing on the welcome screen.
I re-installed OS X with a LAN cable and everything worked fine. When I enabled wireless it again crashed the system. I've updated everything including an update to air port but no change - each time I enable wireless I have to reboot to safe mode and disable it before I can use the Mac.
While I don't actually need the wifi as its going to be my media box I'm confused as to why this doesn't work. Am I doing something wrong?
Wifi Router: Thompson ST585 with WPA2 enabled

To be honest, I bought the Mac because I previously had a way too complicated system of media streaming (PC, DLINK meadia server, remote drive, wireless & home plug LAN), and I was always going to connect via LAN. If the issue with the wireless is due to an incompatible router, that's fine. I'll leave it until I need to use wireless - the hardware test on the Mac came up OK.
I was posting on the forum in case there was something I could do to fix it - if the problem is with the router, I'll leave it
    Thanks again

  • My Outlook/iCloud calendar invites to others appear to work on my end and sync with my PC and mobile, but when other people "accept" the invite, it will not populate/add in to their calendar. How can i fix this without turning off iCloud?

My Outlook/iCloud calendar invites to others appear to work on my end and sync with my PC and mobile, but when other people "accept" the invite, it will not populate/add in to their calendar. How can I fix this without turning off iCloud?
I am at a new office that uses Outlook (not Outlook Exchange) which does not sync with my mobile... I just got iCloud set up on my PC to sync my contacts, calendar, reminders, etc... The sync worked (not without flaws, but the other issues seem solvable... I think), so that i can now see all my appointments on both my phone and on my PC. The problem I am having is that iCloud moved all of my calendar items from Outlook into iCloud calendar and now when I send out meeting/calendar invites the recipients may accept them, but the meeting does not get added to their calendar. This is a huge problem and may mean that i need to turn off iCloud.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks!

I am replying to my own post here as I seem to have fixed the problem.
I do have some calendars that are shared. Some of those are shared with users who have time zone support turned on. So i activated time zone support on my iphone, then deleted my icloud subscription. I then signed in to icloud again and voila... problem solved.
It is a weird one as the other calendar views were always fine and when you opened an event that appeared in the wrong day (on list view), the correct date of the event was shown in the information...
one more bug in a complicated system I guess

  • Looking for help to increase performance on a DB XML database.

I'll try to answer all the questions in the Performance Questionnaire from here.
    1) I'm primarily concerned with insertion performance. The best I've seen so far is about 6000 inserts/per second. This is running inside a VMWare VM with 3 GB of RAM. The VM is set up with 2 CPUs each with 2 cores. The host machine has 8GB of RAM with a dual core 2.67 GHZ i7 (2 logical cores per CPU). The best performance I've seen is by running 2 threads of execution. A single thread only gets me about 2500 inserts per/second.
This is all within a very simple, isolate program. I'm trying to determine how to re-architect a more complicated system, but if I can't hope to hit 10k inserts per second with my sample, I don't see how it's possible to expand this out to something more complicated.
    2) Versions: BDBXML version 2.5.26 no special patches or config options
    3) BDB version 4.8.26, no special patches
    4) 2.67 dual core, hyperthreaded intel i7 (4 logical processors)
    5) Host: Windows 7 64-bit, Guest: RHEL5 64-bit
    6) Underlying disk is a 320GB WesternDigital barricuda (SATA). It's a laptop harddrive, I believe it's only 5400 RPM. Although the VM does not have exclusive access to the drive, it is not the same drive as the Host sytem drive. (i.e. Windows runs off of the C drive, this is the D drive). The has a 60GB slice of this drive.
    7) Drive is NTFS formatted for the host. Guest, ext3
    8) Host 8gb, guest 3gb (total usage when running tests low, i.e. no swapping by guest or host)
    9) not currently using any replication
    10) Not using remote filesystem
    11) db_cv_mutex=POSIX/pthreads/library/x86_64/gcc-assembly
    12) Using the C++ API for DBXML, and the C API for BDB
    using gcc/g++ version 4.1.2
    13) not using app server or web server
    14) flags to 'DB_ENV->open()': | DB_SYSTEM_MEM
              | DB_INIT_MPOOL
              | DB_INIT_LOCK
              | DB_INIT_LOG
              | DB_INIT_TXN
              | DB_RECOVER
              | DB_THREAD
    other env flags explicitly set:
    DB_LOG_IN_MEMORY 1
    DB_LOG_ZERO 1
    set_cachesize(env, 1, 0, 1) // 1GB cache in single block
    DB_TXN_NOSYNC 1
    DB_TXN_WRITE_NOSYNC 1
I am not using a DB_CONFIG file at this time.
    15) For the container config:
    transactional true
    transactionsNotDurable true
    containertype wholedoc
    indexNodes Off
    pagesize 4096
    16) In my little test program, I have a single container.
16.1) flags are the same as listed above.
16.2) I've tried with an empty container, and one with documents already inside and haven't noticed much difference at this point. I'm running 1, 2, 3, or 4 threads, each inserting 10k documents in a loop. Each insert is a single transaction.
16.3) Wholedoc (tried both node & wholedoc, I believe wholedoc was slightly faster).
16.4) The best performance I've seen is with a smaller document that is about 500 bytes.
16.5) I'm not currently using any document data.
    17)sample document:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' standalone='no'?>
    <Record xmlns='http://someurl.com/test' JID='UUID-f9032e9c-7e9a-4f2c-b40e-621b0e66c47f'>
    <DataType>journal</DataType>
    <RecordID>f9032e9c-7e9a-4f2c-b40e-621b0e66c47f</RecordID>
    <Hostname>test.foo.com</Hostname>
    <HostUUID>34c90268-57ba-4d4c-a602-bdb30251ec77</HostUUID>
    <Timestamp>2011-11-10T04:09:55-05:00</Timestamp>
    <ProcessID>0</ProcessID>
    <User name='root'>0</User>
    <SecurityLabel>unconfined_u:unconfined_r:unconfined_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023</SecurityLabel>
    </Record>
    18. As mentioned, I'm looked to get at least 10k documents per second for insertion. Updates are much more infrequent, and can run slower. I am not doing any partial updates, or replacing documents. In the actual system, there are minor updates that happen to document metadata, but again, these can be slower.
    19. I'm primarily concerned with insertion rate, not query.
    20. Xquery samples are not applicable at the moment.
    21. I am using transactions, no special flags aside from setting them all to 'not durable'
    22. Log files are currently stored on the same disk as the database.
    23. I'm not using AUTO_COMMIT
    24. I don't believe there are any non-transactional operations
    25. best performance from 2 threads doing insertions
    26. The primary way I've been testing performance is by using the 'clock_gettime(CLOCK_REALTIME)' calls inside my test program. The test program spawns 1 or more threads, each thread inserts 10k documents. The main thread waits for all the threads to complete, then exits. I'm happy to send the source code for this program if that would be helpful.
    27. As mentioned, I'm hoping to get at least 10k inserts per second.

  • Main vi and sub vi execution

I am struggling a lot with my Main vi and Subvi execution problems a lot !
I have a complicated system. To explain it, I create a simple main vi and 2 subvis. Please have a look at the attachment.
It is working as expected. The boolean button in the main vi is active when the subvi-s are not running. But while the sub vis are running I can not access the boolean button. I understand why it is happening. The execution is stuck in the subvi and can not see any new input in the main vi.
My question is how can I solve this?
    What I want is,
    1. When the subvi is running, I still want the boolean button in the main vi to behave in the same way as compared to when the subvi is not running.
    2. I should also be able to run the 2nd subvi when the 1st subvi is still running.
Please help me out (I am using Labview 2010.)

Oh sorry, I thought I saved them to LV2010 but I guess I accidentally recompiled them to latest version.. Attached VI's for 2010.
Seems I cannot edit my previous post so forgive me for sending VI's twice and if any moderators happen to see this, feel free to remove the VI's in previous message..

  • Calendar Invitations Using iCal Synced with Google Calendar via Exchange

I have a very complicated system set up for syncing multiple calendars. I use CompanionLink to sync my work Lotus Notes calendar to iCal. I then sync my Google Calendar and my husband's Google Calendar to iCal via Exchange. I've recently added the iCal step as a way to get push notifications. That's the only reason I've gone to iCal as I have CalenGoo on my iPhone and it's been working great up to now. However, the only notifications it can do are through email. I have 2 questions.
First - using the iCal program on the iPhone, I tried to invite attendees for a meeting. No invitations were sent. Is there something that has to be set up to make this happen? • Is it possible to sync iCal with iCloud on Lion machines but still subscribe on pre-Lion machines?

I absolutely love iCal, and have a very complicated system set up such that various individuals/computers can access my calendars.  I was thrilled about iCloud, as that mean that I would not have to worry about remembering events until I found myself in front of the "main" machine, but could update iCal from all Lion/iOS5 devices, which are my general working machines.
But, it appears that iCloud has removed my former webcal publishing, and now my pre-Lion machines cannot keep up to date with the calendars.  So, I've done a bunch of investigating, and think I have found a work-around, but I still have a concern about it, and am also wondering if there is a better solution.
So, what I want to do is this:
I have two Macs running Lion (laptop, desktop) and an iPhone running iOS5 that I would like to be able to update calendars from and have it show up on all.  iCloud neatly accomplishes this (whereas before, I had to wait to find myself in front of the desktop, or remember to sync the iPhone).
I also have a plethora of older Macs, owned by myself, people in my group, and my family, that currently subscribe to various webcal addresses to keep up with "Work" and "Home" calendars, on a read-only basis.  The Macs are running anywhere from OS 10.2 to 10.6.  Upgrading to Lion is *not* an option -- first of all, they're not all my machines, and second of all, some are truly old (10.2 is running on a G3 -- yes, a G3, still in working order and completely fit for its purpose, with no plans to update until the machine physically stops working, but 10.2 is the most recent OS it can run).
The work-around I found is this:
I set the iCloud calendars to share with "everyone" which provides me with a webcal address that I can send to people and tell them to subscribe to it in their iCals.
    My concern is:
I am concerned about the "everyone" sharing:  I previously used a prviate, password-protected third party webcal pubishing service.  The URLs the everyone-sharing produces look complicated enough that it is unlikely that anyone would "guess" it, but is possible to browse public iCalendars somewhere?  The information in the calendars isn't hugely sensitive, but some of it is private enough it would cause a stink if some people blundered across the "Work" calendar, and perhaps some embarrassment if others found the "Home" calendar (especially as work people will know I am using this method).  Does anyone know how easy it is to access these calendars if you have not been provided the URL by the publisher?
And finally, is there  a better solution?  Ideally, I'd have password-protected webcal sharing.  It looked to me that the "only with people you invite" choice requires people to both have an iCloud account, and then use an iCloud enabled OS in order to get it into their iCal, which won't work with the pre-lion machines.  But perhaps I am wrong about this?

Sharing (not publishing) can be done privately - which requires the recipients to have an iCloud account - or publicly. As you say, this means than anyone who knows the URL can subscribe: but there's no published list of calendars, people who don't know the URL would have to guess it so the chances of them finding it are fairly low.

  • How can I fix the calendar list view - it repeats days and misses entries

My iPhone has started to repeat days when I look at it. Some of those days have complete data for the day, other miss out lots of appointments.
I get this problem only in list view.
This month, as I scroll down the dates, i get 4th sept, 5th, then back to 4th, 5th, 6th, then back to 5th, then 6th, then 5th...
The data on each day varies (some entries missed, some repeated every time the day appears)
All the data is correct on my mac and on other views on the phone.
My data is synced over cloud and I share some of the calendars with a couple of other icloud users.
It is very annoying as I find the list view such a good way to look at my calendar. Any suggestions for a fix welcomed as turning it off and on and turning icloud syncing on and off has not helped.
    Thanks

I am replying to my own post here as I seem to have fixed the problem.
I do have some calendars that are shared. Some of those are shared with users who have time zone support turned on. So i activated time zone support on my iphone, then deleted my icloud subscription. I then signed in to icloud again and voila... problem solved.
It is a weird one as the other calendar views were always fine and when you opened an event that appeared in the wrong day (on list view), the correct date of the event was shown in the information...
one more bug in a complicated system I guess

  • Remote Desktop and Licensing

I wrote my own licensing scheme and I would like to know how to prevent multiple executions of my app. The licensing is on a per machine basis where it looks at the mac address of the computer to see if it's allowed to run. Because through remote desktop, the mac address for different users logged in simultaneously is always the same, I cannot prevent more than one user to run it at a time. I don't want complicated system session variables that have to be locked and unlocked, I just want to be able to detect, in the code, whether the user is connected to the machine through an rdp session or not. Thanks a lot.

So surely there's some kind of MS command you can execute to see what users have logged in and how? You've already taken the problem space outside of Java by being bound to a specific OS's command, so I think you'll have to continue along that path, or find a different solution.

  • Music files / itunes conversion - making it simple!

    Hello
I am looking for some general and probably simple help with the file formats of my music.
I have a vast amount of music which is stored on my computer hard drive, some of which is stored in m4p format and some in wma and some in mp3? Some of my music files are stored twice and some are in different formats. When i convert my music to itunes i find that most of the music converts 3, 4 and sometimes 5 times? I dont understand this!
I really want to have a simple system for storing and converting music. If my music is to be stored on my hard drive i just want each music file stored once and in the same file format so when i search my music it is easy to find the artist i want. With itunes i just want the music to convert once. This all may seem very simple to someone but to me i feel like i have a complicated system and i just want to tidy it up and make it easy to manage. Can anybody help! Thank you.

I really do not understand what all the different formats are so even trying to talk about this is difficult but i will try. I have all my music stored on my hard drive but it seems to be in different places. When i click on my music i have a number of artists listed with their music. I then have a folder in this section called itunes which has also got a big list of artists in it which seems strange. So i have one big music folder with all the music in plus an itunes folder with a lot of the music in also. Do i need to just copy all of the music to the itunes folder on my hard drive?
When i use itunes to organise my music i click on file and then add folder to library and then send all the music in the folder 'my music' to itunes. Obvisouly i have just done this once at the start. When i add the folder a pop up comes with - some files are not in the itunes format, do you want itunes to convert them for you. When itunes has finished adding and converting i have 4 or 5 copies of each track in the itunes library??? I then have to use the delete duplicate option to get rid of tracks. When i then take my music to other computers and want to copy it into itunes it does the same so it seems to be a problem with the files on the hard drive.
Ideally, i would like one copy of each music file in my hard drive plus when i copy to itunes it just copies once. Also when i take this music to a seperate computer i want it to copy into the itunes library once.
If you require further info then no problem
I appreciate your time and help
    Thank you.

  • Disk not mounting in Target mode.  Other options?

I had a disastrous snow leopard upgrade that has thrashed my hard drive on my MBP. It is strange because my iMac upgraded with no issues and is a more 'complicated' system to upgrade.
I get an invalid node error message when verifying the disk. I cannot boot the OS from the hard drive anymore. Attempting to do an OS install gives me an error message that the contents of the disk cannot be changed.
When I launch the OS from the snow leopard CD, I am able to get to the file system via a Terminal window. There are a few files that I would like to salvage if possible before doing a reinstall of the OS. I tried setting the MBP to Target mode to access from the iMac, but the drive does not mount (only the DVD drive mounts).
Are there any other options? I can also get to these files in single user mode. I would like to physically get them copied somewhere outside of the system if possible (instead of moving them to a different location on the drive and doing an install).
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Andy Manson;
The invalid node error message indicates serious problems with the directory for that disk. This could be the reason that you are unable to boot.
You might try a demo copy of Data Rescue II to see what it salvage in the way of files from the disk.
Since AFAIK DiskWarrior is not ready for Snow Leopard yet that only leaves you a reformat of the drive to repair this problem.

  • Does the Mac Pro 3ghz Quad have a battery

i seem to be having to reset a bunch of preferences recently, and i don't know why. my computer is i think 3 or 4 years old now?? the latest was today-the dock and the screen corners all went to default settings when i booted up. i remember the old days when Macs had little batteries and would go back to some default settings when the batteries died. Any ideas anyone??
    jp

    thank you!
Incidentally, do you know the general location in the case where they put it? i did not see it in any diagrams yet, and my case is not super easy to see inside and get into, due to a pretty complicated system of drives, misc. wiring/shelving issues. :  )
thanks again for the battery model, i'll get that tomorrow and perhaps will be able to install it too.

  • Pro*C linker problems

System is Linux Mandrake 6.0 with Oracle 8i, with the 8i patch
    applied.
What a nightmare that install was! Lots of permission problems,
unreadable directories, programs with no execute permission on
    them and so on.
I now have a database up and running, and am trying to get Pro*C
working. The code was written on RedHat 5.2 with Oracle 8.0.5,
and worked fine there, so I know it is not a fundamental code
    problem!
I have patched the pcscfg.cfg file as detailed in the patch FAQ
(with modifications for the slightly different paths under
    Mandrake Linux).
When I compile the Pro*c file, I get many "undefined reference
to 'dbcon'" and "undefined reference to 'ctx'" errors from the
linker. This occurs whether I use a pre-defined list of specific
libraries in my own Makefile, or if I use the standard
demo_proc.mk makefile. I have used nm(1) on every place I can
think of, to try to find the required library/object, but to no
    avail.
I appreciate that Oracle have so far only certified Oracle for
Linux against Redhat 6.0, but surely Mandrake can't be THAT
    different ;-)
Does anybody have any ideas, known problems etc? I REALLY HOPE
that I don't have to switch to Redhat as the only solution - no
problem with Redhat, it would just require a tedious and
complicated system rebuild, which I don't have the time to do :-(
    TIA

  • Talend oracle lite problem

we want to use talend in order to migrate data from an sql server to a oracle 11g. the database in oracle 11g is the repository for our oracle lite server.
When we migrate the data we select action on table none and action on data insert or update for the oracle 11g components. We encounter a problem in which oracle lite thinks that the entire table has been changed after talend has finished its update and foreces a full refresh of the table to the users. As you understand this is a great problem because even when only one record has changed (or even none) the entire table is redownloaded on the users.
From what i know oracle lite uses a complicated system in order to understand which records have been changed and therefore require to be updated on the clients. It appears as if talend changes something in the table after it has finished its data migration (perhaps some kind of a timestamp?) and therefore makes oracle lite believe that the entire table with all its rows were changed. i do not know which of the two components cause the error, talend changing something or olite thinking wrong about tables updated
1)why does this happen and how exactly does oracle lite understand which data have been updated?
im using this forum in order to ask if someone has encountered this problem again and how did he solve it
    thank you for your time

not used talend, but if i understand correctly, you are using this to transfer data from a sql server database to oracle. I assume the data being put into the oracle database is into tables in the main schema, rather than the mobileadmin schema itself.
For the tables that are being written to in the oracle database, how are they defined in the oracle lite publication (fast refresh, complete etc.) and what happens in the MGP process after the data import has run.
The default process is that for fast refresh objects the following happens.
    1) when data is inserted/updated/deleted from the base table, triggers (TABLENAMi/u/d) fire in the main schema, and this causes data to be inserted into mobileadmin.C$all_sid_logged_tables to show the table as changed, and updates made to the CVR$ table in the main schema
    2) based on the 'dirty' tables in c$all_sid_logged_tables then the MGP process logs phase will copy data from CVR$ tables to CLG$ tables, and then run the compose to populate the out queue CMP$ tables
it may be that part of the settings are stopping the updates to the CVR$ tables and this is causing a versioning mismatch (normal trigger for complete refresh), so check to see what updates are done to this table as well as the manin data table

For a less complicated system, you can achieve nearly the same
functionality without using an event structure.  Simply poll the
state of the booleans you require and feed them into case
structures.  By placing these case structures and the polling into
a loop with a "wait until ms multiple" set to around 50 or 100ms, the
responsiveness of the code should be high enough without bogging the
    processor down with the polling.
If you want have a look at the example VI I've attached.
    Hope this helps
    Shane.
PS Are you sure the document linked below is relevant for you?  It
states that the event handler isn't in the base 6.1 version of LabVIEW,
but your sig says you're using 7.1........
