Component for simple table

Hello. Can I create another simple table in ADF (not ReachTable) just to show data from database table? Wich components i can use for this?

Hi,
Welcome to OTN.
Always mention your JDev version and clear usecase (go through this announcement : https://forums.oracle.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=56).
1. If you use ADF, RichTable means simple table.
2. Why don't you want to use RichTable?
3. If not ADF Table, which table do you want to use? (Trinidad table? HTML Table?)

  • Problem with text direction in table component for text with two language!

    Hi,
    I want to display text in table component by binding to the one property,and also the language of this text is farsi that must be in the RTL direction.
    so i defined a direction in style of staticText component in the table.
    when the text is only in farsi language ,it works correct but when the text has one or more words in english language ,format of the text changed and the words moved in text.
    thanks

    I can not understand relation between COM and HTML elements .
    can you elaborate more ?
    All HTML elements are accesable via DOM in browsers.
    Indeed to change an element attribute in html files (in browser without server interaction) we use scripts to access DOM tree and then we change the element attribute.
    for example when you write
    document.forms[1].submit()
    you accessing the element using DOM tree.
    About Farsi problem , I think there is no solution for this problem , as you may know , when we mix RTL and LTR languages in one element text attribute , we have no control over its appearance.
    If i understand your post , you want to show both rtl and ltr in one static Text , which is not doable in simple manner.
    At least i can not offer you a simple way to solve this.

    I know two companies that offer JSF component for table pagination and sorting and AJAX based :
    http://www.teamdev.com/quipukit/demo/datatable/DataTable_filteringAndPaging.jsf
    http://java.samples.infragistics.com/NetAdvantage/JSF/2006.1/
    The problem? They are not open source..
    And I am too looking forward on this subject, because I want to develop my own custom component and add some features. If someone has any tips, references or samples of their own, it would be really appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Thanks

    Like this?
    SQL> SELECT * from kons;
         COL1      COL2
            1         1
            2         2
    SQL> SELECT 'INSERT INTO kons VALUES('||col1||','||col2||');' statement FROM kons;

    INSERT INTO kons VALUES(1,1);
    INSERT INTO kons VALUES(2,2);
    SQL> If you have character and / or date columns you will have to change my example,
    but you might get the idea from it.
    You can spool the result to a file.

  • Compilation Error: "class or interface expected" for simple EAR???

    Dear all,
    I have access to the customers NW CE 7.1 SP07 and of course I am using the corresponding NWDS 7.1 SP07 that comes with this CE installation. I am trying to study JEE 5 @ SAP and I have created a very simple Application (from the Book http://www.sap-press.de/katalog/buecher/titel/gp/titelID-1480).
    In NWDS I have created the following 4 projects:
    1. Dictionary Project
    Describes 2 Tables (TMP_EMPLOYEES and TMP_ID_GEN)
    2. EJB 5 Project
    Contains a stateless EJB + local business interface + Entity class.
    The EJB accesses the entity class, which is mapped to a simple table (TMP_EMPLOYEES).
    3. Dynamic Web Project
    Contains actually only one JSP (index.jsp) which allows to the local business interface for creating a new Entity.
    4. Enterprise Application Project (EAR)
    Creates a package from 2. and 3.
    I have successfully deployed both the Dictionary Project and the EAR (all to the same server).
    But If I call the corresponding URL via web browser I get the following error:
    500   Internal Server Error
    "Error in compiling [/EmployeeWeb/index.jsp] in application [sap.com/EmployeeEar]."
    Details: "The WebApplicationException log ID is [005056841108002A00000070000007AC0139C8D8862D3EED]."
    In the "Log Viewer" of the "SAP NetWeaver Administrator" (via browser...) I have found the following:
    Message: Processing HTTP request to servlet [jsp] finished with error.
    The error is: com.sap.engine.services.servlets_jsp.server.jsp.exceptions.CompilingException: Error in executing the compilation process: [ Compilation Failed! Exit Code=1

    As you can see there is some compilation error, it says 3 times "'class' or 'interface' expected". If i remove all the relevant EJB java code from my index.jsp everything works fine. So I guess there must be some problem with finding the resources. Unfortunately this "logging" is not helpful at all (thank you SAP!). In NWDS everything is fine no problems at all!!!
    Who can help me here with this?
    Thanks in Advance

    I have found the issue.
    in the index.jsp I have the following lines:
    <!-- Import Statements -->
    <%@ page import="javax.naming.InitialContext" %>
    <%@ page import="com.sap.demo.session.EmployeeServicesLocal;" %>
    Now check the end of the second import ==> ;
    Removing the semicolon solves the issue. But the SAP error message is still not very helpful to me.

  • BUG in SelectBooleanCheckBox component binding Simple Use Case

    I have a table called Customer have four fields. Id, Name, Gender, Regular.
    The sample data is
    --- 23, Mark, M, Y
    --- 26, Fiona, F, N
    I want to show an updatable form to the end user for the same using ADF. The UI components for Name, Gender are OutputText and Regular is SelectBooleanCheckbox (Y is checked and N is unchecked)
    I do the following steps
    a) Create an Entity Object
    b) Create a View Object and add YesNoLOVaccessor to the View object as per this post for SelectBooleanCheckBox
    http://theo.vanarem.nl/2010/07/07/adf-checkbox-representing-a-yes-or-no-value/
    c) Test the same using Business component tester, the model for Customer query shows up with Regular as a checkbox. Browsing through the data gives correct data for checkbox in BC tester.All good till this stage
    d) Next I drag the Customer Viewobject instance in the data control to the JSPX page and add as ADF form including navigation controls. I use the Next control to browse
    First record shows up as 23, Mark, M, Y and then click next to go to next record it shows up as 26, Fiona, F, Y instead of 26, Fiona, F, N
    Oracle please confirm if this is a bug or I am missing something here
    Thanks

    Thanks I resolved it now, I am not complaining but the lack of use cases on internet for simple things does make things difficult and frustrating. I modified the ViewRowImpl java file to convert the 'Y' value as true and 'N' value as false as below.
    public String getCheck() {
    //return (String)getAttributeInternal(CHECK);
    String value = (String)getAttributeInternal(CHECK);
    String returnValue = null;
    if ("Y".equals(value))
    returnValue = "true";
    else
    returnValue = "false";
    return returnValue;
    public void setCheck(String value) {
    //setAttributeInternal(CHECK, value);
    String dbValue = null;
    if ("true".equals(value))
    dbValue = "Y";
    else
    dbValue = "N";
    setAttributeInternal(CHECK, dbValue);
    However as per best practice can I have a helper method to do the conversion. I use this checkbox code for around eighty checkboxes. What's the best practice.
    Thanks

  • [ADF Help] How to create a view for multiple tables

    Hi,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11G and ADF framework, and trying to create a view to update multiple tables.
    ex:
    Table A has these fields: ID, Name
    Table B has these fields: ID, Address
    A.ID and B.ID are primary keys.
    B.ID has FK relationship with A.ID
    (basically, these tables have one-to-one relation)
    I want to create a view object, which contains these fields: B.ID (or A.ID), A.Name, B.Address.
    So I can execute C,R,U,D for both tables.
    I create these tables in DB, and create entity objects for these tables.
    So there are 2 entity objects and 1 association.
    Then I create a view object based on B and add fields of A into the view:
    If the association is not a "Composition Association",
    when I run the model ("Oracle Business Component Browser") and try to insert new data, fields of A can't edit.
    If the association is a "Composition Association", and click the insert button, I will get
    "oracle.jbo.InvalidOwnerException: JBO-25030: Failed to find or invalidate owning entity"
    If I create a view object based on A and add filed of B into the view:
    When I run the model and try to insert new data, fields of B can't edit, no matter the association is or is not a composition association.
    So... how can I create a view for multiple tables correctly?
    Thanks for any advices!
    Here are some pictures about my problem, if there is any unclear point, please let me know.

    Hi Branislav,
    Thanks, but the result is same ....
    In the step 2 of creating view object, I can select entity objects to be added in to the view.
    If I select A first, and then select B (the "Source Usage" of B is A), then finishing the wizards.
    When I try to create a new record in the view, I can't edit any properties of B (those files are disabled).
    If I select B first, and then select A in crating view object, the result is similar ...
    Thanks for any further suggestion.

  • How to use Value Mappings for simple translations?

    Hello,
    I want to use Value Mappings for simple translations in mappings, e.g. from IDoc to Inhouse structures.
    For example unit of quantity:
    IDOC    -->    INHOUSE
    PCE               P
    ABC               A
    How can I use Value Mapping for this? What should be used as Agency, what should be used for Scheme? What about groups? I tried the following: I created a new Value Mapping in Integration Directory:
    - Source Agency: DELVRY05
    - Source Scheme: MENEE (IDoc field name)
    - Target Acency: INHOUSE_DESADV (Name of structure)
    - Target scheme: UNIT (Name of field)
    Then, in the table, I added several lines for translating PCE to P and ABC to A and so on. But I have to define a group name for each line. I used INHOUSE. But than I get one INHOUSE group for each line.
    This seems very complicated for simple translations from A to B. I don't want to use FixValue in Message mappings.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Christoph

    Hello,
    @pavan kumar: Thanks, but I know all Blogs about Value Mappings. That does not help me. And I refer to PI 7.1.
    Lets get it very simple: I want to have exactly the same functionality of "FixValues" as ValueMappings. In 7.1, I need to define a Group for every row / line in the conversion table (e.g. for units of measurement conversion between IDoc and FlatFile). That does not make sense for me, as the Group is always the same, e.g. "Unit of measurement". So I will get dozens of same groups called "Unit of measurement".
    I don't really understand the concept of Groups. Maybe this is just not appropiate for my intenses? Maybe the Group has to be defined as one specific value of Unit of measurement, e.g. "pieces"?

  • How to Maintain Surrogate Key Mapping (cross-reference) for Dimension Tables

    Hi,
    What would be the best approach on ODI to implement the Surrogate Key Mapping Table on the STG layer according to Kimball's technique:
    "Surrogate key mapping tables are designed to map natural keys from the disparate source systems to their master data warehouse surrogate key. Mapping tables are an efficient way to maintain surrogate keys in your data warehouse. These compact tables are designed for high-speed processing. Mapping tables contain only the most current value of a surrogate key— used to populate a dimension—and the natural key from the source system. Since the same dimension can have many sources, a mapping table contains a natural key column for each of its sources.
    Mapping tables can be equally effective if they are stored in a database or on the file system. The advantage of using a database for mapping tables is that you can utilize the database sequence generator to create new surrogate keys. And also, when indexed properly, mapping tables in a database are very efficient during key value lookups."
    We have a requirement to implement cross-reference mapping tables with Natural and Surrogate Keys for each dimension table. These mappings tables will be populated automatically (only inserts) during the E-LT execution, right after inserting into the dimension table.
    Someone have any idea on how to implement this on ODI?
    Thanks,
    Danilo

    Hi,
    first of all please avoid bolding something. After this according Kimball (if i remember well) is a 1:1 mapping, so no-surrogate key.
    After that personally you could use Lookup Table
    http://www.odigurus.com/2012/02/lookup-transformation-using-odi.html
    or make a simple outer join filtering by your "Active_Flag" column (remember that this filter need to be inside your outer join).

  • How to find out last updatde timestamp for a table

    Hi All,
    I want to find out the last updated time stamp of a table. Is there some thing available with the sys tables. Is there something can be done with user_objects.
    Or, is there any need to write pl/sql code to get the last updated timestamp for a table.
    Please provide some inputs.
    regards,
    Naresh

    Hi Oleg,
    Select * from user_objects.I belieive it gives you the last_ddl_time not the time a update or delete was done.
    Not sure if we have this feature in any new release.
    I am working on Connected to Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0
    to the OP
    I will suggest if you planto audit then use the audit feature based on your DB version.
    Or to make it more simple have a column called modified_date and update this column whenever you update the record.

  • User Datastore for multiple tables and columns!

    Hi,
    I hop so much, someone can help me.
    I've made a user datastore to index multiple columns of multiple tables.
    Now, the Documentation of Oracle explains the idexing of one table.
    I have multiple tables, which have all, the columns descr and tagnr. I want to make a query sth like this:
    select table1.column, table2.columnd... where contains(indexed field,'gas within descr',1)>0
    is it possible to index 4 seperate tables, without having a collective key? I dont want to make a Concatenated Datastore.
    I have wrote this code.
    But it doesn't work. It's been compiled fine. But I don't get any result with my queries.

    Any Help would be appriciated!!
    Kind Regards,
    Arsineh

    Arsineh,
    I realise that it has been quite some time since you posted this question but I thought I'd reply just in case you never did manage to get your user datastore working.
    The reason your procedure will not work is simple. A user datastore procedure accepts a rowid input parameter. The rowid is the ID of the row that Oracle Text is currently trying to index. In the example you have given, you are attempting to use the supplied rowid as the primary key for multiple tables, this will simply never work as the rowid's across multiple tables will never correspond.
    The best way to achieve your goal is to create the index on a master table which contains the common primary keys for each of your four tables e.g.
    MASTER_TABLE
    COL:COMMON_KEY (NUMBER(n))
    COL:USER_INDEX_COLUMN (VARCHAR2(1))
    If you create the user datastore index on the MASTER_TABLE.USER_UNDEX_COLUMN column your stored proc simply needs to read the correct row from the MASTER_TABLE (SELECT t.common_key into v_CommonKey FROM master_table t WHERE t.rowid = rid) and issue subsequent queries to extract the relavant data from the t1..t4 tables using the common key e.g.
    SELECT t1.tagnr, t1.descr into v_tagnr, v_descr FROM t1 WHERE t1.[PRIMARY_KEY_FIELD] = v_CommonKey;
    SELECT t2.tagnr, t2.descr into v_tagnr, v_descr FROM t2 WHERE t2.[PRIMARY_KEY_FIELD] = v_CommonKey;
    and so on...
    Hope this helps

  • Shell script for online table redefinition

    Hi,
    Could someone help me out in building a script for online table redefinition in AIX 11g, moving the table into a new table space.
    Thanks

    You are embarking upon a voyage in which you will expend a substantial effort reinventing the wheel.
    Look at Oracle DBMS_REDEFINITION built-in package.
    http://www.morganslibrary.org/reference/pkgs/dbms_redefinition.html
    and never do something outside the database, in a proprietary language, that can be done far more efficiently inside the RDBMS in a platform independent language.
    In other words, inside the database, I could code your entire project with error handling, in far less than an 15 minutes including testing.
    With a simple DDL statement, issued at the command prompt in SQL*Plus ... I could do it in less than 15 seconds: Your choice.
    ALTER TABLE <table_name> MOVE TABLESPACE <new_tablespace_name>;

  • F4 help for ALV table field

    Hi Experts,
    I need to implement F4 help for ALV table field.
    I my scenario, I am using two views. If we click on any record in fist view then it displays the popup window (second view) with relevant record details.
    Here one of the columns having fieldnames corresponding values (old values), for correcting old values I have created new value editable column, we can enter new value for old value then we can save it. Till this functionality is ok.
    Then I have included OVS help for new value field. Here I need to get f4 help for newvalue field relevant to fieldname.
    For example: user clicks on f4 in cell (new value) then if corresponding fieldname is u2018WERKSu2019 then it shows the plant values
    Here I can get fieldname, domain name  and value table using method set_attribute ().
    Same concept I have implemented in ALV using F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST. It is working fine
    Here I have little bit confusion. Please advise me how to implement in OVS.
    Regards,
    BBC

    Hi,
    you'll have to create a method for the OVS search help (define it in the "OVS component usage" field in the context).
    Sample code (should work for WERKS):
    method on_ovs .
    declare data structures for the fields to be displayed and
    for the table columns of the selection list, if necessary
      types:
        begin of lty_stru_input,
      add fields for the display of your search input here
          WERKS TYPE WERKS,
        end of lty_stru_input.
      types:
        begin of lty_stru_list,
      add fields for the selection list here
          WERKS TYPE WERKS_D,
          NAME1 type NAME1,
        end of lty_stru_list.
      data: ls_search_input  type lty_stru_input,
            lt_select_list   type standard table of lty_stru_list,
            ls_text          type wdr_name_value,
            lt_label_texts   type wdr_name_value_list,
            lt_column_texts  type wdr_name_value_list,
            lv_window_title  type string,
            lv_group_header  type string,
            lv_table_header  type string,
            lv_werks type werks_d.
      field-symbols: <ls_query_params> type lty_stru_input,
                     <ls_selection>    type lty_stru_list.
      case ovs_callback_object->phase_indicator.
        when if_wd_ovs=>co_phase_0.  "configuration phase, may be omitted
      in this phase you have the possibility to define the texts,
      if you do not want to use the defaults (DDIC-texts)
    Set label from Medium Description to something more logical...
          ls_text-name = `NAME1`.  "must match a field in list structure
          ls_text-value = `Plant description`.
          insert ls_text into table lt_label_texts.

      In this phase you can set the structure and default values
      of the search structure. If this phase is omitted, the search
      fields will not be displayed, but the selection table is

      Read values of the original context (not necessary, but you
      may set these as the defaults). A reference to the context

             input = ls_search_input ).
        when if_wd_ovs=>co_phase_2.
      If phase 1 is implemented, use the field input for the
      selection of the table.
      If phase 1 is omitted, use values from your own context.
          if ovs_callback_object->query_parameters is not bound.
          endif.
          assign ovs_callback_object->query_parameters->*
