Component Qty Split during Backflush

Dear Gurus,
We have a problem with the quantity splitting during backflush.
Ex. Prod Order for FG requires PM 500pcs as per BOM. Current SAP stock is 400pcs only. During backflush (production confirmation CO15), there is a deficit error due to insufficient stock (500 > 400). COGI registers 500pcs.
How can we setup the system that during backflush, 400pcs is successfully consumed while leaving a COGI of 100pcs only (instead of 500pcs)?
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
You can split the qty while doing confirmation thru Edit> splitting function( CtrlshiftF4) into different qty as per your requirement in to 400 and 100 and consume 400 from stock and COGI for 100 pcs
Check at your end

• Infinity Component Qty Proposing during Batch Determination in Process ordr

Hi Guys,
During Batch Determination in Process order, component determination proposing with Infinity quanity (i,e 999,999,999,999) with old batches, even though there is no stock available against these batches. (MMBE)
Please advise me if I miss any config / master data maintenance.
regards,
Purna

Unfortunately, I cannot access OSS note. If you can, try to use search term Batch Determination Infinite Quantity.
Anyhow, do you have the available stock that can use for the prod.order? The OSS mentioned that the ATP at batch level also search the available stock within RLT. If none is found, then the infinite quantity is proposed. In order to avoid the search for batch stock with zero quantity, try to set the selection criteria with LOBM_MENGE > 0.
However, the best way is to archive the batch stock with zero out from the system. Use SARA with MM_SPSTOCK object, and flag "Only consider batch stock records without stocks". Only MCHB table (Batch stock records) will be deleted. The batch masters are not.
Hope it helps.

• Component Qty Increases during change in Sales order for CONFIGURABLE MATL

Hi PP Gurus,
I have setup a configurable material with a bom that has component quantities is computed by entering the characteristic values (length, width, thickness) in the SALES ORDER creation. When the go back to the sales order (VA02), and I change ONE CHARACTERISTIC value, the component quantity changes as expected. However, when I select the header material then click the configuration icon to see the characteristic value and press back after seeing the values, the odd thing is that the component increases by a FACTOR (conversion of cubic inch to Liters, 61.023).
When I change the setting in the CONFIGURATION PROFILE-> untick "manual change allowed in the sales order, this STOPS the component quantity from increasing.
I would really appreciate if someone can help me.
Thanks,
Heinrick Palad

Hi Shaik,
Yes, I have maintained an alternate unit of measure. The base unit of my component is LITERS (IN3) while my issuance unit / sales unit (unit in BOM) is CUBIC INCHES (IN3). It is interesting that the conversion from Liters to cubic inches is 61.023. WhY does it multiply by 61.023 everytime I tick on the CONFIGURATION ICON in the SALES ORDER while Im not changing anything in the CHARACTERISTIC values?..
It continues to multiply by 61.023 if i repeat on ticking on the CONFIGURATION ICON and going back to SO header view (until it encounters an error, because of a value of quantity too large).
Thanks,
Heinrick

• Subcon PO: Can system change the qty proposed for backflush during GR?

Scenario:
We have a Subassy A (qty=1) which requires Component A (qty =8). We have component scrap maintained as 25% in the BOM.
When we create the PO with qty as shown below, the following qty is proposed for the component A (80*1.25 = 100) due to component scrap.
Subcontract PO with item cat L - Subassy A : qty = 10
Component proposed is - Component A : 100
During GR we (101) the Subaasy A: qty = 10
We backflush (543) the Component A qty =80 (system proposes qty =100 but we change it to 80.00)
In subsquent adjustment, MB04 we consume/backflush (543) the additional issued components.
Problem:
IS it possible to have the system propose the component A qty as per the BOM ie (80 for 10 Subassy A parts)
so that inventory control does not have to change the proposed qty during GR.
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
You should try this.
Create an entry sheet in which planned services are defaulted from the purchase order. You can determine the quantities suggested from the PO by specifying percentages (Entry sheet -> Create -> With planned services).
Cheers !

• MFBF can exclude bom component during backflushing ?

Dears.
When i confirm repetitive production using MFBF the system consider all the components of the bom.
One component of this bom have field backflush in mrp2 view of mateial master setted to blank.
I need that MFBF exclude this component during backflushing.
But MFBF consider all the components despite backflush field in material master.
Do you have a solution in order to exclude this bom component during backflushing ?
Pay attention that i need to plan this bom component , so production relevant flag in bom is filled.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
In standard SAP, it is not possible to automatic exclusion of BOM component during backflusing in MFBF.
As suggested by expert Caetano you need to do enhancement using the said BADI.
Also in REM profile if you remove indicator "Error correction for Backflush" and remove the material from storage location level then your requirement may fulfill. Test and confirm the same.

• Full BOM component qty when follow-up material is effected.

Dear Experts,
How to ensure discontinuation / follow-up is implemented on FULL BOM's
component qty, and not partial.
Example : A requires 3B, and B is follow-up with C upon discontinuation.
Planned order of A should only contain 3B or 3C, not mixture eg. 1B
and 2C etc.
How can the control be implemented ?

Dear Pradeep, Rajesha & all,
Assume BOM of "A" indicates component B qty 10 is follow-up with component C qty 10.
Material B (say, balance 1 qty) is received into Store Y (MRP Relevant). Thus to exclude material B from MRP, we have to manually transfer stock to store X (Not MRP Relevant).
This would mean, we have to perform manual tracking such that this store transfer is done, to force SAP to direct to material C, so that we either accept 10B or 10C in planned order and nothing else.
Not forgetting, I could have another follow-up in another bom such that 1B = 1C. Thus, the material 1B I transfered to store X (Not MRP relevant) can actually be use in this case.
Thus, from BOM explosion, is there a way to control discontontinuation to follow-up, based on full component qty specified in BOM ?
My Setting as follows :
(1) Material Master of "B" : MRP4 specify (a) Discontinuation Indicator "1", (b) effective-out date, (c) Follow-up material "C"
(2) In Bom of "A" (parent of "B") :
- Item "B", indicate discontinuation group "A1"
- Create item "C" and indicate follow-up group "A1" and qty to be follow-up upon B discontinuation.
Thank you for your guidance !

• How to change the billing qty directly during VF01 in AFS?

Dear experts:
Can anyone advise how we can change the billing qty directly during VF01 in AFS? Can anybody tell me why i can modify the billing qty in SAP R/3 ECC6.0, but it fail to in AFS, why?
The operation was:
1、I have  to done one customising, in VOV7 for my Item category change the Billing Relevance to "K";
2、We setting up as Delivery note  related billing and would like to change the qty at the point of billing;
3、Enter the Delivery note number Do not Press Enter, Then Click on u201Cselection listu201D, however , the field of "open quantity" is in greyed out mode !
In SAP R/3 ECC6.0 ,In transaction VF01 put the Delivery note NO. and before entering or executing go to "selection list" and we will find the quantities in editable mode and we can change there and then execute billing, but in AFS,the field of "open quantity" is in greyed out mode ! I asked a lot of friends in AFS, they also have this problem!

Hi Guys,
Contrary to others IS (retail, oil etc...), AFS has been almost fully redesigned in some areas. That's why SAP releases first EHP business functions for standard and then try to enhanced the new created features later in AFS EHP.
In regards to the change of the billing quantity, from my prospective this is not supported. Quantity always comes from preceding document.
AFS is implemented in many industries like workwear, fashion high fashion, sportwear, underwear, bags etc...However I never got the same requirement to change the billing quantity.
For which reasons do you need to change the billing quantity ? Can this be done in the sales order (in case of debit/credit memo request) or in the delivery ?
The billing area has some restrictions, such as doing a pricing redetermination, in AFS it must be done in the sales order for example.
You could potentially ask SAP and see whether an advanced modification could be provided (this is chargeable).
Hope this might help.

• Po quantity and Component qty should be same Whildoing Subcontracting PO.

Hello friends
I need to do the following setting.
While doing Subcontracting Purchase Order the Ordered Quantity entered is to be reflect Component Quantity. ( Without entering component qty, automatically ordered qty should come in component qty). The reason is that user should not commit any mistake while doing po.
Where can i control this. Is there any customization setting or Material Master setting.
Please give me suggesition. Urgent.
Thanks and Regards
Sitaram

Hi Sitaram,
As you have maintained the BOM for that material/Plant.
The finished material and components are maintained with the quantities,
When you creating the Subcontracting PO you enter the Material number in the item level
in the material data tab you have 2 options Components and Explode BOM,
If you click the Components the system will ask you to enter the components and their quantity.
If you click the Explode BOM system will pick the components and their quantity from the BOM which is already maintained for that finishing material.
So no need to maintain the quantity manually by Users, if you use explode BOM options.

• Data entry- bom component qty in decimals

Hi, We need to enter bom component qty with 4 decimal places like 9.0001 mm etc. as the table field structure is set as 3 for decimal places, it is not allowing to enter. Also tried with su01 as well as cuni settings. Please advise is there any way to set the bom component qty in more than 3 decimal places?

Hi
System will allow only upto 3 places after decimal.check in CUNI
can u plz tell me wat is the relevance of 9.0001 mm if your planning is in Metres.it doesnt matter after 3 places of decimal.as per business process.even simple mathematics round off it to 9.0 mm

• Batch Split during GR for Production Order Confirmation

Hi All,
We need to do batch splitting during GR for Production Order Confirmation. We are using CO11N for confirming the Production Order and in the PP settings auto GR is activated once the Confirmation is done.
Currently it is generating only single batch number for the complete quantity, but our requirement is that we need that system should create separate batch for each piece.
For ex.: Production Order is for 100 pce, when we do Production Order confirmation, system is automatically doing the GR by 101 movement type and it is creating one single batch for full 100 pce. But we want the batch number should be generated for 1 pce i.e. we want to split the 100 pce into 100 batches with 1 pce each.
Please let me know what can be done for this requirement.
Regards,
Ankit

Dear,
In OPK0 you need to active the screen Mill: Goods Receipt (8485) for confirmation profile for the single-screen entry.
Best way is use BAdI /SAPMP/SPLIT_CO11N for the Enter Time Ticket for Production Order transaction (CO11N)
you must activate BAdI implementation /SAPMP/SPLIT_POPUP and/or /SAPMP/SPLIT_CO11N for this BAdI
I have use the same BADI it will ask you number of split according to that it will split the GR line item.

• How to get the Calculated Component Qty of BOM in BI

Hi Gurus,
I am working on a requirement where I need to get the BOM Calculated Component Qty which we see in CS11.
The way it is getting calculated in ECC is :- If a Component has an Assembly then We take the Base quantity of that material from STKO table and Take the Component qty of its component and multiply the Component qty of The component and the component qty of the Material for which the assembly exist and divide it by the base qty of the component of the Assembly.
We need to put the same logic in BI. can anyone please help me how i can accomplish this.
Thanks!

• Changing prod order quantity no update of component qty (during convertion)

Hello everybody,
I would like to ask you if someone has already founded following problem :
I converted a planned order into a production order and, before to save it, I changed the production order header quantity. In this particular conditions the system doesn't udate the component quantity also after the order is saved ! The result is to have not the same proportion as in BOM. I have no founded any OSS note. Have anyone of you founded this kind of problem ?
Is it a SAP std behavior ?
Thanks in advance
Salvatore Testa

Salvatore-
Standard would be, that if you change the header quantity in the production order, it will update the components quantity too. I don't see a reason why it is not updating the component quantity.

can any one help me to how we can resolve this issue
Please find attached document

Hi,
Here I am providing the necessity and importance of splitting structure, will share the configuration steps once you go through the following and get the comfort level.
Expense Analysis and Splitting in Manufacturing Cost Centers
Introduction In SAP Cost center work as a cost responsibility center, where all the expenses and cost are stored and analyzed for the purpose of management decision making.
The cost could be fixed or variable in nature. The difference between variable and fixed costs can be made in various ways in product costing in CO module.
Fixed costs represent the static costs incurred by the organization, which doesn’t change on the basis on manufacturing activities, which remain constant irrespective of production activities like rent for the premises, salaries of office staff etc.
On the other hand, variable cost varies based on the level of production activities; if production activities increase then variable cost also increased like electricity consumes raw material charges etc.
However all the variable cost doesn’t vary in direct proportion by quantity of goods produced.
In this document will try to define; how the Expenses analysis and splitting of cost done in manufacturing cost centers.
From controlling prospective, fixed cost remain constant regardless of operating activities, but if these factor changes, variable cost will fluctuate.
Basically raw material costs represent variable cost, but in this document main focused will be given to distinguish fixed and variable activity cost.
The segregation between fixed and variable cost is optional and is derived from the configuration and master data configured in cost center accounting and overhead accounting.
Activity Price:
There are different methods that could be used in cost center accounting to determine the activity price. The simple way is the manually enter “Fixed” and “Variable” Activity cost (KP26).
However there are other methods used in Cost center Planning and Budgeting that automatically calculate the fixed and variable activity price.
Here the focused will be given on Planning and Budgeting activity and automatic calculation of plan activity rate in cost center.
This method aggregate planned costs by cost element and capacity by plan unit to calculate the activity price.
Activity independent costs are segregated among different activities based on Splitting Structure, while activity dependent cost directly used for the purpose of variable activity rate calculation.
Fixed Activity Cost:
In product costing all those cost, which doesn’t vary based on the activities in manufacturing cost will represent fixed cost.
In a manufacturing cost centers there may be two or more activities performed.
To calculate the activities rate, the fixed costs are distributed to various activities on the basis of Splitting Structure defined for cost center.
Variable Activity Cost:
Variable activity cost, which directly depend upon the activity type and fluctuate based on increase or decrease in manufacturing activities. In SAP variable activity cost are directly linked to the respective activity.
Activity Prices: Fixed and Variable Split
In Cost Center Accounting dividing the cost between Fixed and Variable requires appropriate split to be made in the cost entered for the activity. The process is described below:
i. Variable cost would be planned at activity level and expenses should be maintained at cost element in the manufacturing cost center by assigning activity and cost element combination.
In other word, the expenses should be planned on Activity type at the time of primary cost planning (KP06).
Then the variable activity rates are calculated on Total cost planned at Activity divided by Total number of activity planned at that cost center (i.e. capacity in KP26)
ii. Fixed cost would be planned at independent of activity type. These costs are maintained in KP06 at cost element level on manufacturing cost center.
Then the fixed costs are distributed on various activity types on the basis of Splitting structure defined at OKEW.
In Splitting Structure we define the rules, how the fixed cost will be distributed to Activities. For the purpose of this document, considering split of fixed cost on the basis of Capacity maintained in KP26.
