Compound selection of percentage range

Post Author: Mike Kennedy
CA Forum: Formula
I need to write a formula to select records from a result field in percentage format.  I want all records that are less than 85% and all records that are greater than 115%.  I can't seem to get this right.  There are 2 other selection criteria for record type and date range that work fine, but whenever I try"eff% <= 85 or eff% >= 115" the results are incorrect. I can select with one or the other, but I need both.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks.

CA Forum: Formula
add this to the end, this is saying eff% not betwee .85 and .115
and not ({eff%} in .85 to .115)
(not sure if you will need the .85, .115 or not, it may be 85 and 115 depending on your formula)

  • How to display null values in the graphs, when i select a date range?

    Hi,
Can you please help me in achieving the below requirement:
We have a date promt, i have selected the date range from 12-Oct-2009 to 15-Oct-2009 and clicked on the go button.
In the above date range, data is only availabe on 14-Oct-2009. here the requirement is to display as all the records (12th, 13th , 14th & 15th) in the bar graph.
Currently the graph view is displaying the data only for 14-Oct-2009 in the bar graph.
If data is not available it should display in the bar graph as empty for that particular dates.
    Help is highly apprieciated.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • How do I select a color range like in Photoshop OR copy/move a layer into the mask of another layer?

    Hi there,
I'm trialling Photoshop Elements and wanting to use a black and white (grey scale) layer that I've made as a mask in another layer and don't know how to do it in Elements.  In Photoshop, I'd do this (there maybe a better way in PS to do it, but I haven't discovered it yet)...
Click the layer i've created that I intend to use as a mask
    Select All
    Copy
select layer that I want the mask to be applied to
click the Add Layer Mask button (at the bottom of the Layers window)
click the mask icon so it is highlighted (and the image isn't)
    switch to Channels view
highlith the Layer Mask beneath the R,G,B layers and make it visible
    Paste
    make it invisible again
    switch back to layers.
This works and retains the full range of transparency for semi transparency and soft edges of the mask etc.
Alternatively, I can select a Color Range, but that doesn't seem to be available in PS Elements.
So, how do I achieve the same result in PS Elements?
    Thanks for your help

Perfect!   Thanks very much R_Kelly.  That does exactly what I was hoping to do.

  • Selecting with colour range doesn't work properly

Well, at least to me it doesn't work properly.  If I have elements on seperate levels and I use the colour range option to select the area, it works on all the levels, not just the level I have selected.  That's not what I want!  I only want it to select the colour range on that one level.  The work around is to manually turn off other levels, but on a  file with lots of levels, that can be tedious.  Can this be avoided?  Incidentally, magic wand works only on the selected level, but not colour range (or color range, if you are American).

Aha! You are correct. Layers above the target layer are still being sampled when sampling is at "Current Layer".
That has to be a bug. The Eye Dropper Tool itself does work correctly, though.
I'm about to report another problem, so I'll report this one, too.
Edit: Looking again, I don't think there is a bug.
It seems to not be that the higher layer is seen when sampling "Current Layer", which is correct and the same as when the Eye Dropper Tool itself is use. However, the pixels of the visible composite are then evaluated to determine the regions to be selected. I guess that's correct behaviour and you will have to do the Alt-click on eye trick to completely ignore all other layers.

  • Need help with select that month range with flexible first date

    Hello everyone,
I am trying to create a selection of month range (will be in a WITH clause) for a report to display monthly data. But the first month start date can be any date. (Not necessarily the first date of the month)
    Examples:
    Report input parameters:
    Start Date: 08/10/12
    End Month: Dec 2012
I was trying to build a with select that will list
    Month_Start, Month_End
    08/10/12, 31/10/12
    01/11/12, 30/11/12
    01/12/12, 31/12/12
    OR
    Month_Start, Next_Month
    08/10/12, 01/11/12
    01/11/12, 01/12/12
    01/12/12, 01/01/13
End month is optional, so if no value the select will list only
    08/10/12, 01/11/12

    Hi,
    Here's one way:
    WITH   params      AS
         SELECT     TO_DATE (:p50_start_date, 'DD/MM/YYYY')     AS start_date
         ,     TO_DATE (:p50_end_month,  'DD/MM/YYYY')     AS end_date
         FROM     dual
    SELECT     GREATEST ( start_date
               , ADD_MONTHS ( TRUNC (start_date, 'MONTH')
                            , LEVEL - 1
              )               AS month_start
    ,     LEAST     ( end_date
              , ADD_MONTHS ( TRUNC (start_date, 'MONTH')
                          , LEVEL
                        ) - 1
              )               AS month_end
    FROM    params
    CONNECT BY     LEVEL     <= 1 + MONTHS_BETWEEN ( end_date
                                      , TRUNC (start_date, 'MONTH')
;:p50_end_month doesn't have to be the last day of the month; any day will work.
If you want to generate a Counter Table containing the integers 1 througn x in SQL, you could say
    SELECT  ROWNUM  AS n
    FROM    all_objects
    WHERE   ROWNUM  <= x
;but, starting in Oracle 9.1, it's much faster to say
    SELECT  LEVEL   AS n
FROM    dual    -- or any table containing exactly 1 row
    CONNECT BY  LEVEL <= x
;Also, x can be greater than the number of rows in all_objects.

  • How to get default values on selection screen(multiple ranges)?

i want to know how to maintain default ranges in selection screen...like 2000 to 3000 and 7000 to 8000 and 11000 to 15000
all the above ranges must get by default how to provide those to selection screen by default...please give me idea...with example...

    Hi Suresh,
You can either use select-options or Ranges. If you want the selection screen to be displayed with allwoing user to enter values apart for the default ones use select options else use ranges. With ranges what ever values use hard code would be set and the end user will not be able to add any more values (or range of values).
    Simply write the following code
tables : <name of the table from which the field belongs>
    select-options <fieldname> for <tablename>-<fieldname>.
    <fieldname>-sign = 'I'.
    <fieldname>-option = 'BT'.
    <fieldname>-low = '7000'.
    <fieldname>-high = '8000'.
    append <fieldname>..
similiarly add all the ranges that you need to include as default and in your select statement use the IN operator inthe where clause to include the range.
If using range replacethe select-option with the range statement.
    Thanks.

  • Difference between select-option and range

    Hi,
wat are the difference between  select-option and range
where u have to use those and give the syntax for the range option.
if u use range option in report programming there is any advantages ?
      pls reply for this ..
    thanks
    rams

    Hi,
    Not much of a difference,
    A Select-Option could be like,
    SELECT-OPTIONS sel FOR f
And a Range could be like,
DATA: BEGIN OF sel OCCURS 10,
             SIGN(1),
             OPTION(2),
             LOW  LIKE f,
             HIGH LIKE f,
          END   OF sel.
Here they both function the same. But then the Select-Options has numerous options associated with it than the RANGE option.
    Hope it helps,
    Pradip Parmar.

  • XL Reporter - Selection of date range for report templates

    Dear All,
I want to create a report using XL reporter and attach it to the main SAP B1 reports module . For this I have created the template using report composer .
    Issue:
I have only one sub-period (ie,year wise in the posting periods)
how i can select the date range in the Composer and attach it to the main menu.
    Regards,
    Suresh Kannan.P.

    Suresh,
                1. Goto Report Designer
                2. there u can find "Advanced Report Builder" on left side of the window
                3. At the below u can find three buttons like "Parameters", "Properties","Apply"
                4. Click on "Parameters"
                5. then Parameters window will populate
                6. Click the new Button
                7. Name: give as u like
                    Category: Literal
                    Type: Date
                    Attribute: Leave blank
                    Default Vale: Leave Blank
                    Prompt: From Date
This is the process to create the parameters.
create two parameters. one is fdate and ldate.

  • Numbers   Select a large range of cells

I select a cell to enter a formula. The key board pops up and I select the Average function. I then try to select a large range of cells, but unable to do so because the Numbers screen will not scroll. I select the cell directly above the keyboard, but when I move my finger up to select 25 rows, I can only move up about 6 rows.
This is using Numbers on an iPad. What advice can you give me for correcting my error.
    Thanks

Here is an answer that worked great for me. I found it here:
    Concatenating a Range in Excel
You'll have to adapt it for your spreadsheet:
    A
    B
    (result)
    1
    Apple
    2
    Baker
    =A1&A2
    AppleBaker
    3
    Charlie
    =B2&C1
    AppleBakerCharlie
    4
    Denver
    =B3&C2
    AppleBakerCharlieDenver
    5
    Edward
    (etc.)
You just concatenate two cells together (using the '&' concatenation operator), and then in the next cell you just add on to the end of the result. So that by the end, you have them all in one long string.
You might say "But I have to write out all those formulas". No. As you know, you can just copy the formula to the next cell and Numbers will change the references for you.
