Computer Maintenance need opinion
I am currently taking over the IT responsibilites in my department at a Graphic Production company. I know that Mac's are suppose to uphold their own maintenance at night (all of our computers remain on and do not shut down), but I would like to download an application that will also do routine maintenance such as repairing permissions, cleaning out caches and running disk repair (when needed), almost as a back up of what it already does on it's own. I have looked into Apple Jack and a little into OnyX and Main Menu. I need a recomendation on which to use (I am not the most computer savy person in the world) that would be the easiest and most effective for what I want.
Also if there is a way to run this routine maintenance for several computer from a centralized source (we have/use an Xserver in our department).

As long as you don't have to force quit your computer because it has crashed, then the only things year really need to do is (1) maintain a current backup (preferably more than 1 actually, I like to keep one backup out of the house in case there's a fire or theft) and (2) keeping your software and OS up-to-date.
If you experience a kernel panic (your screen will darken and you'll get the message to restart your computer - in several languages) or if you have to hold the power key to force a restart you may experience disk corruption. After such an event you should run Disk Utility and perform a verify disk. This won't repair the damage but will tell you if you need to repair the damage. If you do get such a message, depending on your circumstances and the OS you are using, you'll need to restart your computer with the OS installation DVD or the recovery partition (if you have Lion) and run the repair disk function in Disk Utility.
Windows users are used to doing much more to keep their computers healthy but this is really all you need to be concerned with on a day to day, month to month basis with a Mac. -
I just bought a new mac mini and an external DVD burner. I want to burn a DVD video and it will not play on the TV but only on the computer? Need this figured out for tomorrow. Can anyone help me?
Congratulations on the new Mini. Are you saying you tried burning and it does not play, or do you want to burn it only for the computer to be able to play it?

If you don't have your old computer, but you made regular backups of it, restore the most recent backup using the backup software that you used to make the backup. You will have to read the instructions for it.

What you need to do is Transfer the iTunes Library from your Old computer to your New computer...

VC6. is rather old, but you can try to convert the VC6 project using the upgrade wizard of VC2012. Depending on the content of the project your code will work more or less without problems, at least it will compile without errors.
You could also go the 2nd way and create in VC2012 a project type using the wizard that is very similar to your current VC6 projcet (MDI, SDI, Dialog Based, ...). Than you replace the files generated by the wizard with the content of your project. Sometimes
this way is more successful.
But at all the automated converting success depends on the code of your VC6 project. I had both, conversions without big problems and also conversions that need a lot changes to run on a current VC version.

Have you configured the HP computer Touch Screen? Using the Touch Screen, what cannot you do
that you can do with the mouse?

I suspect that Premiere Elements does not support Touch Screen and you will end up using a mouse, but I would need to do more homework on

Design one universe vs two universe....need opinion

Data warehouse consist of 2 Fact table F1 and F2 and 8 dimensions(3 common dimension tables and 5 others).
Fact table F1 and F2 in warehouse have three common dimension table.
I need opinion about how to arrange universe for this data warehouse.
Report consist of measure from both fact tables.
What will be right way : -
1. create two separte universe - one for each fact table.
2. use single universe and use alias for common dimension.
3. use single universe ans use context.

Creating Two Universes will be worst option I guess because it will be more or same like the option 2 you have mentioned. But creating 2 universes will increase the overhead of maintaining two universes.
From option 2 and option 3 you can select any one for such a requirement. I guess the performance of both will be the same.
The Advantage of option two will be that it will never asks for selecting context at run time, such situation might be possible in option 3.
Also, option 2 will take less time to develop as you may not find any loops.

The Activation server for AA 7 was taken down. I am not sure this link is complete, but it might give you some idea. However, on WIn7 and newer, AA7 has problems and will only work with some workarounds, and then kind of clunky.
