Computer restarted during installation

I was installing Flash Professional CS6 when my computer restarted itself for an update. It froze and then I had to turn it off. When I turned it back on, I opened up the Application Manager again and it said it wa installed already. I ran searches and looked my computer head to toe but I can't find Flash anywhere.
Then I realized I hadn't chosen an install location.
What do I do now?

Hi,
How exatly you downloaded the Falsh Pro CS 6 ?
From Cloud or from Adobe.com ?
Try to remove the adobe applications using the Cleaner tool  : http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
After cleaning, try to set the install path and then download and install again.
Hope it helps !!
Thanks,
Baljeet

  • Windows 8 - Windows could not cmplete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation

Having SCCM 2012 SP1 CU3 I attempted to do a pretty simple task.
Create a capture media for Windows 8 64 Bit and capture the OS.
The system in question is a Dell Latitude 6430u and OEM Windows 8.
The system ran as expected, the capture went as expected, but when I deploy the image (Back to the same laptop mind you)
    The following occurs:
Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation.
    Things that I've tried:
Set the SATA to various modes as it was on RAID on as speculated in some posts
Saw a posting that suggests pressing SHIFT F-10 to get in to some prompt and run oobe; doesn't work here, I think.
Added Dell Driver Packs for the system
As for log files, I'll check C:\Windows\Panther and see what's there.
Any ideas on how to correct this? Is there a way to go in to the image itself to do so?

    Sorry, I'm not using CM2007, but CM 2012 SP1, CU3.
I went through the smsts log and found several instances where drivers were missing so I'm guessing that's why it pitched a wobbly about not being a suitable system for the Windows setup.

Which doesn't make sense since the image that I am trying to put on the system is the one I took it from. Before putting the image out I went to Dell's web site and got the Windows 8 drivers for the system and distributed them as I usually do.
I got the drivers from here -
    http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/enterprise-client/w/wiki/4372.latitude-6430u-windows-8-driver-cab.aspx
What I don't get is that I can take the Windows 8 install.wim and do an OSD task with it and there is no issue with drivers.
One other thing here is the log from the windows\panther folder:

  • Computer restarts but installation does not begin...

my problem is pretty simple to explain: i insert the Leopard install DVD into my drive (which works), and after i click "RESTART" for the process to begin, the computer restarts but comes up exactly as i left it - with a "Mac OSX Install DVD" finder window still open. the installation process just never begins.
when i put it in my laptop, the DVD was spit back out right before my login screen came up. when i put it in my external dvd drive, it does not do this, but still doesn't begin the process.
i got rid of all my login items so that nothing would be interfering with the install process but still nothing.
any help anyone can offer? i feel like this has to be something simple...

    tpcarmody,
The volume Mac OS X Install DVD appears to be OK.
This indicates to me that you are verifying the Install DVD.
Your reply is not clear to me, make sure that you use the OS X Installation Disk to check your HD.
Use Mac OS X 10.4.2 Disk Utility, or fsck, from a volume or disc
With Mac OS X 10.4.2 or later, Disk Utility can help you recover from these issues without erasing the volume. If your startup volume is affected, start up from a Mac OS X 10.4.2 or later disc or other 10.4.2 or later volume, and use Disk Utility to repair the affected volume (you can't use Disk Utility to repair while started from the affected volume).

  • Premiere elements 13 restart during installation

I've been trying to install the Premiere Elements 13 trial.  I've tried 5 or 6 times, and each time the installer forces a restart while trying to install Microsoft Visual C++  2012 redistributable package.  After the restart the installation does not complete, there is no icon, and if I try to re-run the installer I get a "Installer Failed to Initialize" error message.
Premier Elements 13 does appear in the "Uninstall a Program" listing of the control panel.  But it requires that I install Application Manager to tell me it can not uninstall the program.  If I run Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner it does see Premier Elements 13, and I can clean Elements 13 successfullly, but all that enables me to do is re run the installer, which still restarts at the same point.
I've even tried running system restore to reset the system to before I tried to install the first time.  I'm spinning in circles here, and any help is appreciated.  As a long time Lightroom user I was hoping to try Elements 13 to see if I want to purchase.
Also note I'm running on a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro (core i7) running Windows 8.1.  Thanks.

  • Computer restarts during downloads, previews, etc..

I'm having a problem when I try to preview a song or try to download or even when I try to listen to a song on my ipod via the computer. This does not happen all the time, but frequently enough to make it very very annoying. What happens is my computer decides it needs to restart during one of these events. This does not happen with any other programs, only iTunes. Any ideas? Thank you.
    home made   Windows XP Pro

Thanks for your reply. To answer your questions. I have been messing around with this pc for a couple of months. The battery charging connector is fixed (the battery is charging) and I am using AC power when installing the OS.
I do believe the HD is good; but, really don't know for sure.  Using the media disks, I have wiped it clean by running that option. It takes 22 hours to run that option. The recovery process runs completely and finishes. It is after that when things go bad.
The PC starts and gives you the starting for the first time screen. It then goes into the “Configuring System” mode and runs  for about 15 plus minutes. It shuts down and restarts a number of times.
It finally restarts, the “Configuring System”  page comes up with a configuring drivers label and freezes. No mouse, no nothing. It will set there for ever it seems. That is the part I don't get. No errror message, no nothing.
When you force a restart, it doesn't give you the normal windows "bad shut down" screen. Just goes to the password request. Which is wrong because there are no assigned users to have passwords.
Wish I did have another HD to try, maybe I will put this HD in an other pc and see what happens.

  • Computer restarts during games

    Okay heres my specs:
CPU - AMD athlon 3200 newcastle
    RAM - Corsair CMX512 512 MB DDR400
    Motherboard - MSI K8t fisr2
    videocard - Radoen 9800 128 mb
After about 5 minutes of playing Warcraft III, my computer restarts. I tested it several times with the same result. The computer also restarts randomly at other times.
My CPU idles at about 39 degrees Celsius, and I did some burn in testing for an hour or two, and it went steady at 55 degrees. This seems pretty normal, I think. So, could it be the RAM thats causing it to restart?
    Thanks

  • System restarts during installation of Mac OS 10.3

To start off, this is my system:
    1.33 GHz PowerBook G4
    2GB RAM
    80GB HD
About six months ago my PowerBook began freezing when I would have it running solely on battery power. It would give me the "You must restart your system" message. At first I thought it was the battery, so instead of buying a new battery, I just used my machine on AC power. That is, until two weeks ago. I began seriously looking into buying a new battery, so before I did that I wanted to make sure it was indeed my battery. Turns out it wasn't. It was a kernal panic. Knowing nothing about kernal panics, I did some research and went through all of the tests to find the problem. I ran the hardware test that came with my restore dics. Everything checked out fine, even the RAM (which I thought might be the problem since it was third party after-market RAM). Finally I tried freeing up considerable hard drive space. PROBLEM SOLVED! I could run off of battery power. But I did read that the last resort is alway a clean install of Mac OS X. Because I wanted to make **** sure that this problem did reoccur, I decided to do a clean install using the restore discs that came with my system. Everything started just fine. It checked the installation disc and began installing 10.3. That is, for about 5 minutes. At that time the system appeare to restart. it showed the grey start up screen. But it stayed at that screen... all night long. After doing a hard retart, I tried installing it again. This time is gave me a kernal panic (system froze, text appeared down the screen detailing stuff I couldn't understand). So for two weeks I've been battling this installation. Sometimes it restarts and freezes, sometimes I get a kernal panic. I'm at a loss here. I have no idea what the problem is. And the worst part is, I don't know how to get the restore disc out.

    adam:
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Here are a couple of articles on kernel panics that might help.
    1. What's a "kernel panic"? (Mac OS X)
    2. Resolving Kernel Panics
It is never a good idea to install before resolving issues with the computer. The first order of business is to determine what is causing the kernel panics and see if it can be resolved, then to the installation.
    Good luck.

  • Computer crashes during installation

    Hi,
I'm having trouble installing Itunes on my computer. I'm using Windows XP Pro sp2 and am completely up-to-date. Each time I try to install Itunes, my computer crashes near the end while the installation is registering. There's no error message and no warning, the computer simply shuts down and restarts. I saw a troubleshooting tip indicating that some antispyware programs can cause similar issues, but I don't have any antispyware on my computer. I do have Norton System works 2002. I even tried shutting down Norton's Anti-virus monitoring. No difference.
Any ideas on what could be causing the issue and how to resolve it.
    Thanks.
    Kurt

+There's no error message and no warning, the computer simply shuts down and restarts. I saw a troubleshooting tip indicating that some antispyware programs can cause similar issues, but I don't have any antispyware on my computer.+
Hmmmm. Usually the SpyCatcher thing (which I think you've found the tip on) just hangs the install forever at the registering modules stages, rather than actually shutting the PC down.
Let's check to see if there is a "hidden" blue screen error message when the PC is shutting down.
    1) Open your system control panel (Start->Control Panels->System).
    2) Select the "Advanced" tab.
    3) Click the "Startup and Recover" section's "Settings" button
    4) Verify that under "System Failure" the "Automatically restart" checkbox is not checked.
Now try another install. Do you get a blue screen with the shutdown this time? if so, what numerical and text codes are you getting with it? (ie 0x[zeros/letters/numbers] CAPSANDUNDERSCORES)
If the blue screen mentions a specific file, let us know what that is called too. (Exact spelling, please.)

  • Elements 13 - PC Restarts During Installation of Visual C++   2012

Hi,  I have a new laptop running 8.1, and Elements 13 installation always stops at the point it tries to install Visual C++ 2012, which I already have installed.
I've tried google and nothing has worked.  I've tried creating a new user account, reinstalling Visual C++ separately, running setup.exe as administrator.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Cherie.

This means the DLLs are in use by another process/ program and cannot be deregistered/ re-registered. We seriously can't know, but tools like Sysinternals' Process Explorer might help you track down the program that holds those DLLs captive.

  • Snow Leopard 10.6.3 upgrade issues..  I run the full install and my computer restarts to complete the installation, but when it restarts the software has not upgraded.  Any suggestions?

I've tried to upgrade to Snow Leopard 10.6.3.  I run the full install and my computer restarts to complete the installation, but when it restarts the software has not upgraded.  Any suggestions?

Are you booting from the retail disc to do the installation, or running it while booted from Macintosh HD?
It should work either way, but it doesn't always work when booted from Macintosh HD. The system files are supposed to be moved into place during the restart (while the HD is unmounted) making for a long restart time which sometimes causes people to think somethings wrong and abort it. Which is a bad move.
If you're booting from the retail disc it's less obvious what the problem may be; however if you've tried it from booted from the HD and it's failed, then tried booting from the disc, it will fail again because the system components are already on the HD in a disc image waiting to be moved into place.
Whichever way you were tryig, I'd try downloading OmnDiskSweeper (it's free)  and using it to see if there's a large package (around 7-10 GB) lurking somewhere that may contain the installer files. If you do, you'll need to trash that before the installer will see a 'clean' system again.
It's also worth asking how much free space you have on your HD - if there's not enough for the installer to use for the temporary package or dmg, it'll fail.
Was there no warning dialogue after the unsuccessful install?

  • Message 'computer unable to connect to printer' appears during installation of laserjet p1102w.

During installation of wireless software for Laserjet P1102W on computer with XP Professional (pk2), the message ' printer was able to connect to wireless network.  However, this computer is unable to connect to the printer.'   I verified the computer and printer both connected to same named network with same WEP , open, key, etc. credentials.  I have a linksys connected to the computer and cable modem. When I connect using the USB connect wire to the computer directly, I can print.   Both software, wired and wireless, were loaded.  My HP Inkjet printer is wired to the linksys and works for multiple wireless network computers. Do I need to have a different printer? I thought i could still have a truly wireless printer!?!  I am a novice at this.  Thanks for any assistance you can give.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

I called HP support.  The tech was very knowledgeable and helpful.  The HP Smart Install program (in printer and on CD) that came in the box  was an old version.  I needed to reset the printer back to factory default and  download the new firmware from HP.com internet site.
The older software had an incorrect router address (network). You can see the router (IP) address when you do the Self Test (holding down the 'on' button) under network Information.  The IPv4 address should be the same as your router.  Now my printer and computer are looking at the same network.
Works great!  Love this LaserJet.  Faster than my last HP LaserJet 4L.
