Condition in condition step type always fails

Hello all !
        I've a condition step type in workflow.
        The condition is as follows :
                       &ZBUS2011.REQ_TYPE& = 0001 AND &PLANT& = X
        The containers in  workflow log is populated with required values. However, the above condition fails for no reason.
        More over, on clicking "Evaluation condition with test data" button in condition display window,  a pop-up message " The evaluation of the condition gives the result 'False' "appears.
        Whether this could be the cause ? How to make the result 'True' ?
        Any suggestion most welcome.
Regards,
S.Suresh.

Hi Suresh,
Is your attribute ZBUS2011.REQ_TYPE a vitrual attribute ? If so please check if the attribute is getting re-calculated during runtime. You can check this by instantiating the BOR and check initial value and then click on refresh button and see if the value has changed.
Thanks,

  • Workflow-step type condition

    hai all.....
      I have got a problem while working with the step type 'condition' in workflow,i.e i want to check the values in internal table in my step type for example,whether the internal table is initial....please someone help me ..its very urgent...

    Hi Kasi,
    I can provide u a simple workaround for this...
    U can create another table within the workflow container of the same table type.
    name it as empty_<table>.
    Than within the condition step, u can simply compare the original table with the dummy empty_<table>.
    This should solve your issue

  • Step type 'condition' in workflow

    hai all.....
    I have got a problem while working with the step type 'condition' in workflow,i.e i want to check the values in internal table in my step type for example,whether the internal table is initial....please someone help me ..its very urgent...

    Hi Kiran,
    For the Operator 'NX' u need not enter any comparison value. U click on the condition in the condition step type . A window appears and u click on the internal table in expression 1 and the operator as 'NX' . It doesnt need a comparison value.
    Now u check this with the test data in the same window . U will have an icon in the bottom of window to enter test data and another icon to evalutate it . U check it with data and without data. It will work .
    In ur reply to Kasi , Ur answer is not at all related with what kasi asked for .U can check the initial property while the data is in workflow container itself . Instead u r passing the data from workflow container to task container and then to method container and then the processing has to take place in BO and again the reverse should take place .Which is Unnecessary .

  • How do i configure a FOR loop to have the behavior of the step Loop Type: Pass/Fail count?

    Hello,
    I'm using the Pass/Fail count set to one Pass to capture an event generated by my DUT.  I originally used a numerical compare step with the Looping type of Pass/Fail count to accomplish this.  Unfortunately the implementation changed and now I need to execute a few steps that can not be combined within one code module as before. Nor can these steps be put into a subroutine.  One of the steps executes a .NET asembly and I haven't figured out how to pass the reference to the subroutine.  When the subroutine is intered the reference is lost and the methode does not execute correctly.
    I have an evaluation function the exits the loop when the expected conditions are met. Everything works except for the Overall Pass/Fail result of the For loop.  If the loop exits due to the first numerical compare test passing, I want the loop overall execution to report as "Passed".  If the loop reaches it's predetermined number of iterations, the overall result needs to report as "Failed".  It would also be nice to have the radio button functionality of "Record Result of Each iteration".  Some conditions require a wait over a minute for the event to occur and I don't want to generate needless data for the report.
    Currently I get the pass/fail status for each For loop iteration, but only "Done" for each loop iteration.  I don't want the initial few failures to cause the test to fail.
    Does anyone know how to do this? Suggestions?
    Thanks,

    I have 2 steps in the loop that can not be combined into one step. This forces me to implement the behavior in some form of loop.  A While Loop could be an option.  I would need to pass the Step.Result.Status from the Multiple Numerical compaire step to the condition of the While Loop.  I tried to use the Step.TS.ID without success.  Some form of reference to the numerical compare step would be needed. I'm using a For Loop as I do want to limit the number of iterations of the loop.  In the case where the loop iterations are reached, the event I am trying to detect did not occur at the correct time and a failure needs to be reported.
    I came up with something based on my comments in the second post:
    1) To start with I configured a Locals.ForLoop_5 variable.  This is used to set the limit on the loop iterations and for comparison after the loop has finished executing. More on that later.
    2) The first step inside the loop invokes a method within a .NET assembly that has been packed in a DLL This method gets the required data from the DUT and stores it to a text file.
    3) The next step is the Multiple Numeric Limit step.  This step invokes a VI that extracts the data from the text file.  This step has been customized in several ways.
      i)  In Run Options, the Results Recording Option was disabled.  This prevents recording of "Failed" while the loop executes when waiting for the event to happen.
      ii) In Run Options, the Step Failure Causes Sequence Failure is unchecked.  Same reasoning as i)  These steps are not true failures.
      iii) A Post Action is configured to go to the nexxt step after the For Loop End step On Condition True with the logic of Step.Result.Status == "Passed".  This causes the loop to exit when the first "Passed" is encountered which corrolates with the event I'm trying to detect. On Conditon Fail remains set to default.
    4)  The step after the For Loop End is an expression step with everythin set to default except for the Status Expression logic set to: Locals.Loopindex < Locals.ForLoop_5 ? (Step.Result.Status = "Passed") : (Step.Result.Status = "Failed"). This step performs the overall Pass/Fail reporting for the For Loop.  If the number of loop iterations is less than the maximum it could have only gotten there by the previous logic triggered by the numerical compare passing, therefore "Passed".  If the loop index has reached the limit, then the event was not detected, therefore Failed.
    I have tested this work around with success, it just a pain to now have to implement this on my 40 some odd For Loops.
    If there is a better way, I'd still like to hear it.

  • Condition class and calculation type missing for conditions downloaded from

    Hi All,
      I have downloaded all the condition types from R/3 using dnl custcndall
    I have even downloaded the following using r3as
    dnl_cust_cnd
    dnl_cust_prc
    dnl_cust_price
    But I have noticed that for the downloaded condition types, condition class and calculation types are missing. Please suggest.

    I have faced the same issue recently.
    The solution is in adapter object DNL_CUST_CNDALL for table T685 and other tables for T685 in that objet put the filters for condition type
    for ex: KSCHL eq PR00
    This sure will work.
    But you have to set this filter for all tables T685*
    Thanks

  • Patching Always Fails on One WS Type

    Since I've implemented Patch Management in my organization I've cycled through several different workstation types, but recently I'm having trouble with this past year's computer model in that patching always fails.
    What is happening is that I have narrowed the patching down to doing the individual machines (HP dc7900). I'll select the patches I want to push go through the wizard using default settings and force the restart. The deployment process will go successfully but the install/launches will fail.
    In the reporting I'll get a remediate.exe failure with a Windows error: Unknown error (0xffffffff) on the bundle package. On the workstation I'll get notification messages for every patch in the bundle. Overall ZCM status reporting says that the package was successfully deployed but in actuality absolutely zero updates are applied.
    This happens the same for every dc7900 in our building which were set up using the same process as dc5700 and two generations of dc5800 workstations that all patch successfully. Has anyone run into a similar situation? Thanks!

    We make a new "source image" for each computer model that we have so different base images for the 5700, 5800 and 7900. All of our images are made with the same XP SP3 volume license and network deployed apps installed. The 57/5800 systems had Windows Updates enabled as "download and let me choose when to install" but with the 7900 we thought that we would be able to use Patch Management to deploy updates so on the image the updates were turned off, but we have since manually turned them back on to automatic to make sure they keep updating.
    I did recently find out that this behavior also follows application bundles on these systems now. I usually deploy bundles as dynamic administrator but have read in another thread that deploying as system may cause less hassles but I haven't had a chance to test this yet.

  • Step Type not updating properly with LabVIEW

    I have a custom steptype that reads the information from the step properties.  I also want this VI to be used as a stand alone.  So I read the sequence context handle to determine if I am running in TS or standalone.  This works fine.  Because it is a stand alone I have a cluster of all the variables the I will need input.  This is where the problems start.  I noticed that when I define the step type in TS that I load the prototype.  I choose to use the default values for the cluster input because I will read the real values inside the VI.  When I "EDIT" (ctrl-E) the step it works fine.  However at runtime I notice that occasionally the default value is used instead of the real data stored in the step type.  I assume there is a race condition for when my variables are loaded.  I assumed that when TS loads the prototype it will load the default values, then my LabVIEW TS properties will read and set the values of my VI.  What I am seeing is that about every other time my LV will read the steps and update the value correctly then other times TS will overwrite the values with the default after I have read them.  Some other wierd fluke I would notice that the variables would be updated in a similar but different named cluster.  This I haven't be able to reliably reproduce.  It is almost as if the references to the controls would get confused and switch to another control temporarily.
    One fix that I have done is to not use the default value but pass the actual step value.  See attached pix.  This is tedious because some of my steps are large.  This is not flexible.  Some of my variables I would like to point to different locations, such as a FileGlobal instead of step.XXX.
    Has anyone seen this before?  When does LabVIEW actually write the data from TS into the VI?  It appears that I am having a race condition between me updating the variables by reading the step values and when TS is loading the prototype.
    I am using LV 7.1 and TS 3.5.
    Thanks.

    Hey Taylored_Solution,
    I'd love to try to help you out with this issue you're having, but I'll be honest - I'm finding it a little hard to follow what's going on.
    Have you been able to isolate this behavior to only one single VI (the one you're currently working on), or, is this behavior reproducible in multiple VIs?
    I ask because if it's reproducible in multiple VIs (a new VI), would you mind giving me sort of "step-by-step" to follow so that I can try to reproduce and decipher the behavior you're currently seeing?
    If it's isolated to the VI you're working on and not easily reproducible, can you create a copy of your VI, remove everything not-pertinent to the behavior you're seeing, and post a very simple example so that other users can take a look and weigh in?

  • What do I need to set in order for each instance of the step type in the sequence to act individually?

    I'm not able to change parameters on one step without it changing the parameters on another instance of the step within the same sequence.  Is there something in the step type properties that I need to set to change this?
    For instance, I have created a custom step called "Battery PWR" that the user can insert into a sequence, hit the "edit" button, set a control in a GUI to 12V and hit an "Okay" button so that the post-step condition causes the power supply voltage to change.  Then, later in the sequence I want the user to be able to insert the same custom step, hit the edit button, set the control to 0V and hit an "Okay" button so that the post-step conditition causes the power supply to go to 0V.  The problem is, when the user edits one of the steps, it causes the other step to change to the same value.
    I know that this has a simple fix, just can't seem to find it.

    I answered my own question.  I was reading and writing to a file global instead of the step parameters, so I was basically overwriting my variables each time I edited the step.  I'm obviously a novice TestStand user.

  • In While step type

    how can i specify the condition in 'While' step value...?
    say i maintain a counter variable in workflow container and i increment each time in 'container operation' step type.....
    how shud i specify the value in comparison basis and comparison values in 'While' step type...?!?!
    i got it in 'loop until ' step type with same case....

    Hi Divya,
    If i understood your question correctly, you are interested to know how to define your condition for 'While' / 'Loop Until' Step.
    When we create a 'Loop Until' step, when you double click on 'Condition' creation area, you will go to 'Conditon Editor' where you can write your condition.
    In the condition editor, you will be able to access all workflow container elements. Your conditon can be in the following format
    &var1& &relational operator& &var2&
    you can also mention some constant value for var2. In general var1, var2 can be anything from workflow container elements.
    So, when your condition is met, loop will end and flow will follow to the next step after 'Loop Until' block. If your condition is not met, you will loop again.
    In general, may be you can have 'Total_No_of_Iterations' container element to store the value how many times the loop should run and 'Iterator' to refer to loop count. When your 'Iterator' value equals to 'Total_No_of_Iterations', may be you can come out.
    Hope this helps you to go ahead with Loop Until step in your workflow !!
    Thanks and Regards
    Krishna Mohan Dubbak
    PS: your terms 'Comparison Basis' 'Comparison Values' are more relevant to 'Mutliple Condition' type. Please note that using Loop Until you can have only 2 possibilities either loop end or loop continue, you can not have any other option.
    Reward points if this helps to solve your problem !!

  • Find All Occurrences always fails within loop

    Dear forumers,
    There's this strange problem that requires a fix.
    Finding all occurences of '#' works fine here:-
    REPORT  zz_test.
    DATA: lv_text TYPE string,
          ls_result TYPE match_result,
          et_release type table of yytc_release,
          lt_result  TYPE match_result_tab.
    lv_text = '"RFC-1234#Create ""Payroll"" under NL directory"'.
      FIND ALL OCCURRENCES OF REGEX '#'
                IN lv_text
                RESULTS lt_result IGNORING CASE IN CHARACTER MODE.
      IF sy-subrc = 0.   " SY-SUBRC is always 0
        READ TABLE lt_result INTO ls_result INDEX 1.
        WRITE :'Offset: ' .
        WRITE: ls_result-offset .
        WRITE: lv_text+00(ls_result-offset).
      ENDIF.
    But it always fails here, within a loop at an internal table:-
    SELECT * .... INTO TABLE it_jira ...
    LOOP AT it_jira ASSIGNING <jira>.
      <release>-summary = <jira>-summary.
      IF <release>-type CS 'Subtask'.
        " <release>-summary is of data type CHAR255
        PERFORM get_subtask USING <release>-summary.
      ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.
    FORM get_subtask  USING    pv_summary TYPE yytc_release-summary.
      DATA:
        lv_string  TYPE char255,
        lv_final   TYPE char255,
        lv_summary TYPE string,
        lv_strlen  TYPE i,
        lt_result  TYPE match_result_tab.
      lv_string = pv_summary.     " LV_STRING = '"RFC-1234#Create ""Payroll"" under NL directory"''
      CONDENSE lv_string.
      lv_strlen = STRLEN( lv_string ).
      lv_strlen = lv_strlen - 1.
      IF lv_string+0(1) = '"' AND lv_string+lv_strlen(1) = '"'.
        lv_strlen = lv_strlen - 1.
        WRITE lv_string+1(lv_strlen) TO lv_final+1(254).
      ENDIF.
      lv_summary = lv_final.
    "  FIND ALL OCCURRENCES OF '#'
    "      IN lv_summary
    "    RESULTS lt_result IGNORING CASE.   * SY-SUBRC is always 4 here too
      FIND ALL OCCURRENCES OF REGEX '#'
          IN lv_summary
        RESULTS lt_result IGNORING CASE IN CHARACTER MODE.
      IF sy-subrc = 0.    " SY-SUBRC is always 4 here - why?!  :(
      ENDIF.
      CLEAR: lv_string,
             lt_result.
    ENDFORM.                    " GET_SUBTASK
    Only when the string LV_SUMMARY is edited from within the debugger (add space to the string prefix, etc), the SY-SUBRC will be 0 and there'll be data found in LT_RESULT.
    How can I resolve this issue? Please do help. Thanks.

    I think the subtle difference is that in your first example the character is actually '#' whereas in the second example it is actually another (unprintable)value such-as line-feed and only APPEARS to be '#'.
    You must find out what the value in question is(will it always be the same value?) and then replace that instead of '#'.

  • Error #1034 Type Coercion fail with registerClassAlias and nested Vectors

    I'm attempting to use flash.net.registerClassAlias and ByteArray.writeObject in order to serialize/deserialize data with static type information.  It works as you'd expect in the general case but I've run into problems with some nested Vectors that I don't understand.  Hopefully someone can point out if I'm just missing something.
    For what I understand, we must register both the scalar types and a one-deep specification of a Vector for that scalar type in order to use nested Vectors.  For example:
                flash.net.registerClassAlias("TestStructureInner", TestStructureInner);
                flash.net.registerClassAlias("VectorTestInner", Vector.<TestStructureInner> as Class);
    This should allow us to read/write objects of type TestStructureInner, Vector.<TestStructureInner>, and Vector.<Vector.<TestStructureInner>> into ByteArrays.  And in general it seems to work.
    Attached though is a simplified test case that fails, however.  The first time we deserialize the data it works.  The subsequent time, however, we encounter the following runtime error #1034.
        TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert __AS3__.vec::Vector.<Object>@304fcb9 to __AS3__.vec.Vector.<__AS3__.vec::Vector.<Test0.as$30::TestStructureInner>>.

    Re-registering the class aliases again via flash.net.registerClassAlias works in this test case but isn't 100% for our actual application (I'm reticent to even mention it but it seems relevant).  Is there a step I'm missing here?  Any light shed would be appreciated.

            // perform successful one deserialization, then one failing one.
            public function deserializeOnceThenSucceed():void
                // save stage
                staticStage = stage;
                // the first deserialize will proceed without error.
                staticDeserialize();
                trace("Successful deserialize");
                // add an event listener in order to invoke error on subsequent frame
                stage.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, doEnterFrameOnceThenSucceed);
            // remove event listener and invoke again.
            static private function doEnterFrameOnceThenSucceed(e:Event):void
                staticStage.removeEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, doEnterFrameOnceThenSucceed);
                registerClassAliases();
                staticDeserialize();
                trace("successful deserialize2");
    internal class TestStructureInner
              public var value:int;
    internal class TestStructure
              public var foo:Vector.<Vector.<TestStructureInner>> = new Vector.<Vector.<TestStructureInner>>;

    The error would imply that ImageAssetEvent does not inherit
    DisplayEvent. Either modify the inheritance chain or listen for a
    basic Event object (flash.events.Event) and cast inside the
    function.

  • Data Acquisition Step Type

    Hi, is there a step type to perform Data Acquisition and Basic comm control such as RS232 and GPIB within teststand ?
    This question was raised when I was training one of our Technicians today, he asked/suggested that having a step type which performs Data Acquisition and comm control would reduce there development time down dramatically, They have just started to use Teststand on small cycle test rigs as part of an evaluation stage. They have no experience with LabVIEW or CVI, they basically want a quick  and easy way to produce a test sequence with Data Acquisition and comm control.
    if there is anything like this at the moment can you possibly reply. If there is not,  is this a something which will be avaible in the future ?

    Data Acquisition usually refers to a DAQ board from NI so I think what you are looking for is a generic NI-VISA step type and a specific RS-232 step type. I have a NI-VISA step type that was originally written with LabVIEW 6.1 and for use with TestStand 2. I've atached that below. I don't have the .ini file handy and don't have time to recreate it but from the code, you should be able to see what needs to be added to the step properties. The basic step is a modified Pass/Fail Step.
    It's not that difficult to create your own custom steps. I've done a lot and it only takes a little while longer than doing a code module in LabVIEW or CVI. The extra time is in creating the edit step.
    I've got an RS-232 step type but part of it is product specific so it is proprietary and I can't post that. Look at the VISA example and the other examples of custom step types that are on the developer zone and see how far you get.
