Condition relating two fields

When building a query on a universe I want to set a condition 'where field A = field B'.
Somehow I can't figure out how to do this in a BO query. Can anybodt help me out?

Unless I've misunderstood your question, you should be able to drag field A plus operator (as per usual) and then choose "object" before finding field B.

You can check the table EKKO for the the Vendor number (LIFNR ) and the Document number (EBELN)

To relate two tables..we have foreign key relationship.
In one table v have primary key and in the second table, the same key is foreign key for that table..
To relate two tables, we can use JOINS
If there is already a suitable foreign key between two tables used in the view, these tables can be linked with a join condition from this foreign key.
Create a view on tables TAB1 and TAB2. TAB1 is the primary table of the view. TAB2 is the secondary table of the view. TAB1 is the check table for TAB2. The foreign key fields are assigned to the check table fields as follows:
TAB1-FIELD_A assigned to TAB2-FIELD_1
TAB1-FIELD_A assigned to TAB2-FIELD_1
The join condition of the view generated from the foreign key is then:
CREATE VIEW ... AS SELECT ... WHERE TAB2-FIELD_1 = TAB1-FIELD_A AND TAB2-FIELD_2 = TAB1-FIELD_B.
Join conditions can also be copied from generic and constant foreign keys. If a constant is assigned to a field in the foreign key, it is also assigned to the field in the join condition. There is no join condition for a generic relationship in the foreign key.
The foreign key between tables TAB1 (check table) and TAB2 (foreign key table) is defined as follows:
TAB1-FIELD_A assigned to TAB2-FIELD_1
TAB1-FIELD_B generic
TAB1-FIELD_C assigned to constant C
The join condition for the view generated from the foreign key is in this case:
CREATE VIEW ... AS SELECT ... WHERE TAB2-FIELD_1 = TAB1-FIELD_A AND TAB2-FIELD_2 = C.

How do I subtract two fields in a form?

I am working on an expense form and I have everything working except one thing.
We have to subtract any over payments from previous expense reports on the current expense report. I am looking at the calculate tab of the Text Field Properties. But I do not see a way to subtract my two fields.
I then setup a field that contains a negative one, except when I display the field on the form, the negative one is a positive one. I did enter -1 as the default value to my "subtraction" field. I was then going to multiple negative 1 against the the over payment amount so I could get a negative over payment amount. I was then going to add the negative over payment amount to the total due and arrive at a net due, But this does not work.
Here is the calculation I am trying to do:
Total Expenses     (calculated field from all of the preceding fields.)
Deductible Expense       (user entered)
Net Expense check          (Total Expense - Deductible expense).
Can anyone tell me how to do this?

With Acrobat there are 3 calculations options.
"The field is the ____ of the following fields:" options are for sum, product, average, min, and max operations or for actions that could be repeated over multiple fields. One does not usually subtract or divide multiple fields in on action.
"Simplified field notation" uses only field names and values. Field names must start with an alphabetic character and should not have any spaces or special characters. Cannot perform conditional control statements or functions. Special characters or spaces can be in field names if the JavaScript escape character precedes the special character or space. The 4 arithmetic operations can be performed.
"Custom JavaScript calculation" has no restrictions on field names, control statements, functions or mathematical operations. One needs to access the field object and the value property of the field object.

Name of the table where can get the two fields Valid-From and Valid-to for

I want name of the table where I can get the two fields Valid-From and Valid-To and their relation ship with the header table in BOM

You can only get the Valid from date from the table STKO.
To get the valid to date, you have to take one day less than the valid-from date of the next record for the same BOM.
Alternatively use the Function module:
CSAP_MAT_BOM_READ
It will give both valid from and valid to dates in the tables parameter: T_STKO

Hi,
First of all AFKO is table for Production Order Master Data. So it covers all data related BOM , Routing etc. So In order to distinguish material field related to BOM & Routing these two different fields are there in AFKO table.
PLNBEZ is the field for material assigned to routing operation
STLBEZ is the field for material which is part of BOM
Hope this clears your doubt.

Update/Insert into two fields based on value of one.

How would I do the following in ADDT.
Example:
I have a database about dogs. When user completes form they make a selection from a recordset feed drop down box of breeds. Lets say they select "PUG" based on the selection two fields are populated from the same recordset size="small" and color="brown".

How to group from two fields?

Afternoon all,
Any ideas how to group a report by using two fields in one formula?
I have two fields in a table
1: Stock_Code
2: Misc_Code
I need to group my report by Stock and Misc code combined. How would I be able to do this by using formula?

See I tried that already pandabear however for some reason it doesn't bring the results from both fields. It is only bringing results from one field.
The report criteria is
{lab_credits.date_created} in date(2007,01,01) to date(2007,12,31) and
{lab_reasons.reason_code}={?Reason_Code}
the formula I used initially was
{lab_credits2.stock_code}+{lab_credits2.misc_code}
but then tried
{lab_credits2.stock_code}+ " " +{lab_credits2.misc_code}
however both didn't seem to work under the above conditions.
The output should be
5-760
7-240
7-250
7-821
AR
CARR
GLAZE
TINT
U-113
U-114
Where 5-760 and U-113 data is coming from stock_code field and AR to TINT is coming from Misc_code field.
The output is ignoring the Misc field values under the given criteria.

Ugh, do you have taken over the LimitValidator and the JSF example (including the f:validateDoubleRange which is unnecessary in this case) literally without actually reading/interpreting/understanding it? No, then it is indeed not going to work. Basically you just need to define a validator in the one password field and pass the client ID of the another field as attribute along the one password field. In the validator you can retrieve the value of the another field by its client ID and finally just invoke String#equals() on the values of the both fields.

now I can do it either in SessionBean code or by creation of one more method findByFK1 - additional work -((

I have one cmp ejb call 'R' with primary key id.
Another cmp ejb call 'RS' with primary key id as well. This RS suppose to represent status of the R record which one R record may have multiple status.
I added one cmp field from toplink workbench call 'status' under R and another cmp field call 'req' under RS. I did a one to many mapping on 'status' with reference descriptor RS bean. Then, I added another one to one mapping on 'req' with reference descriptor R bean.
I got the new ejb-jar.xml after saving the project with the new relationships. However I get the error (as described in previous posting) from ejbc.
My two attempts:
1) If I remove that 1:1 relationship, ejbc is ok but data cannot be retrieve properly.
2) I tried to remove the
<cmp-field>
<field-name>req</field-name>
</cmp-field>
manually from the ejb-jar.xml under 'RS' bean, ejbc is ok as well but again, data cannot be retrieved.
I looked at the demos provided by toplink 4.0 installation, apparently they were able to add a mapping without using 'add cmp field' (this function automaticaly generates the <cmp-field> tags..)

Can not see two fields in Crystal 2008 Developer explorer/designer view

I am currently developing crystal 2008 reports against the salesforce.com database using version 12.0.0.683 CR Developer Full version. I am using an updated driver that was provided in July or Aug 08 in order to view self referencing fields. The problem is that when I try and report against one of the tables (lead history) I cannot view two of the fields (New Value and Old Value)? I can see these two field (New Value and Old Value) in the database expert as the last two fields in the actual table, but the two fields are missing when I go into the explorer/designer view. In Salesforce, these two fields can not be filtered on, but I can export all the values in this table using Salesforece Apex data loader.

Please re-post if this is still an issue to the OnDemand Forum or purchase a case and have a dedicated support engineer work with you directly

View with selection conditions with system fields.

Hi Experts,
I have a view. Now i want to control the data that is selected using 'Selection Conditions'.
here i want to use system field SY-DATUM.
My requirement is i want to control the output like
Valid_From_Date GE SY-DATUM and
Valid_To_Date LE SY-DATUM
which means that i would be showing only active users in this view.
How can i go about this? System is not allowing system fields in comparision value.
Any help on this is highly appreciated. Thanks.

when i trying to activate the view i am getting the below error.
A join condition on a field of the system table SY (or SYST) was defined.
This is not permitted for database views because the system table is not known to the database
Have tried to activate the view you created?
How to go about this?

How can I have two fields with the same name if it makes sense?

Hello, folks :)
I have a pretty hard time figuring out how I can have two text fields with the same binding name.
The whole problem is that when I need two fields with the same binding name they are still differnent coz they have the same name but differnt indices.
I should make a form filled at runtime by merging a pdf form file and an fdf file data file. And I have no choice to do it differently. And my form file needs some data like customerName, companyName twice in one form. But there's only one possible buinding name indexed zero.
How can I create a field with absolutely the same name or is it just impossible due to possible name conflicts? And is there a workaround to this problem? I just need one piece of data repeated in different places.

P.S. if u think that the problem is not clear enough let me know. I'll supply you with more details. But the general process can not be changed.
One pdf should be mergred with an fdf with as the result of their merge a new filled and flattened form. I have no control over fdfs their are generated by Oracle and I can not fill the form using XML files coz this process should be integrated in a working application.

I just thought about a really ugly workaround with a server-side script adding values to fdf files but it's a bit of work and tests and personally i think it's a bad idea :-(

How to create a field in an OAF page which sums two fields in the same page.

In the HRMS appraisal page, I have two fields in different regions.
1. One field shows the total score of the competencies.
2. Another field shows the total scores of the objectives.
The problem with the appraisal total score is it returns only the rating level id. (It does not take decimal values)
Hence I want to add the above two fields which is displayed in the same page and show as a new field in the top of the page as the final appraisal score.
[Something similar to what is mentioned in the metalink document 1315431.1 ]
We are in 11.5.10.2.
I am new to OAF and have no idea as to how to achieve the above step. Can anyone guide me in doing it?

Hi,
Went through the steps to do a VO substitution.
But normally in all the examples given the page will belong to the application where we are modifying.
Eg. in this case the "about this page" shows /oracle/apps/fnd/wf/worklist/webui/NotifDetailsPG
This is coming under fnd top where all the appraisal VOs and other pages comes under PER_TOP.
Should I bring all the files from FND_TOP of the server to my PC where jdev is installed.
I have already taken all the files under $PER_TOP to my PC.
