Conditional navigation to popups

Hi Masters,
I have a form through which iam passing the values to the web service, depending on the return value i should show the popups. If the value is 0 i should navigate to first popup else to other popup. Please help me out..

Hi,
May be, you can use a hidden checkbox in one of the fomr s in layer two, with the query result makes it true/false.
The popup can be triggered based on the value of the hidden checkbox in layer2.
I Saw system action "Dynamic Action" for submit button, with an action formula. Not sure whether you can use it. But just give a try.
Else, Use two buttons (One placed over other) with mutually exclusive hidden conditions to trigger events based on checkbox value in layer2

Conditional Operator for Popup Pages!!

Hi All,
In my application there are 2 two different pages say 85 and 45. In page 85 i am calling the Iframe in which it will redirect to page 45. Now in that page i.e 45 i have used template as popup. In that i have an IR and HTML regions and a button in IR region. when i click on button then only should show the HTMl Region for that i ahave used conditional operator. But that is not working!!
So i would like to know wheather conditional will work popup pages. If not let me know the procedure for that!!!!

.. Apart from that, there is no need for your original long list of "if .. else". For a list of possible inputs, you should consider something like this:

or, with your input and output, something as simple as

-- but I don't know what your possible range of inputs is. If it's "anything goes", you have to check for a not-in-range and then set it to your default of 5.

OBIEE Condition Navigation

Dear Experts,
How to implement conditional navigation in OBIEE.
I have one report. When i click on amount when this report other column.value ='A', it should navigate to the report with 'A Report';
Another when this column.value = 'B', it should navigate to another report such as 'B Report'.

you can achieve this type of navigation by using GoNav which will pick up the value of the click where you will click. You have to use @ to pick value of the column. Only limitation is that you have to name the target report exactly same as the value of the source column. If coulmn value 'A' then you have to name your report A.

Navigation Issue - popup

Hi experts,
I have two windows ,one is mainwindow and another one is popup window.
In the main window I have two views,first views action button calls the popup window. On clicking OK from popup i need to display second view of main window.
I intially created the action for the OK in main window first view but I need to validate the input in pop-up so I created the action for OK in popup view.The validation is working fine but the navigation to next is not working.
Layout : Window1-view1 --> POPUP window --> Window1-View2

As I said, it is difficult to redesign the flow of your application without studying it. However, is there any way you could perform the validation from the component controller method? Keep in mind that you can place view object instances into variables of the component controller. With access to the view object you could still call the Utility method to check for mandatory fields. Also you could of course have the context attributes at the component controller level (and map them to the view) if you need additional checks.
If you have your validation in a reusable method of the component controller, then it can be called from within an event handler of the main view and not the popup view. The main view can then be responsible for closing the popup and for initiating navigation to the secondary view.

Conditional navigation?

I have a report that uses column selector, so the report can show by, lets say, data type 1, or data type 2. If the user click on the chart, I want them to go to different reports depending on the column selector value. Is that possible? If yes, how to do that?

Yes your suggestion would let me specify different report to navigate to from a table report. I treid and it worked beautifully. But I want to do it from a chart. So I followed your method: specify a column selector, then go back to the chart based on the column selector, select Additional Chart Options->Navigation. But it seems I can't specify different reports to navigate to. Not sure this is a bug in the software or intentional, or I did something wrong.

Conditional navigation between layers

Hi Masters,
I have forms1,2,3 in respective layers 1,2,3. From form1 iam connecting the output port to the input port of web service. Depending on the values of the fields that come from the output port of web service, I should decide to which form i should go either to form 2 or to form 3. This vaigation should happen on clicking on the button in form1. Please help me out.

Hello Kaushik,
Instead of having three layers. You can have two layers.
First layer should be same you have , and the second layer shoud be combination of components in 2 n 3 of your layer.
Now Store the value you are getting from webservice in a dataStore. And use the visibility condition of the components .
Example:
Then Setting the visiblity condition of (STORE@Variable == 'Yes') for one and (STORE@Variable == 'NO') for other.

Conditional navigation in OBIEE

I have a report from which, I need to navigate to two different reports based upon the rows in a column from the original report like
Report 1
Column A
X
Y
Z
when i click on X in need to go to Report 2 and when i click on Y and Z i need to got to report 3.

I have cast the year column thought it would be numerical value..
So incase it is string value no need for the cast.

That works. Follow the below steps.
1. Create a key on the selection screen: click on the selection screen>properties>keys>Add a key,ex. "value".
2. MenuItem>In the properties of menu item>Parameter mappings>map the key with the key created in last step.ie. "value" instead of the key of the choice box.
3. Get the value selected from choicebox:

ADF Popup not showing at fragment load

Hi,
I am calling a bean method in getter of command link at the load by binding it to a command link defined in bean, so when this fragment is called from other fragment then
in this method i m doing some checks ,and based on particular condition i have popup.show but it doesnt show the popup and code is not raising any exception.

Now in populatedata ,I have popup shown for some conditions but when fragment is getting called for first time it doesnt show the popup ,but same populatedata is called from button on the fragment
so when i click on button ,this popup is shown properly.
So as I understand first time getC1 gets fired when fragment was getting loaded ,so how to make sure popup is displayed during that ..

have you debugged the method call to prove that it is called at all? Instead of a component binding as a trigger, can you try a value property e.g. on a hidden output text component?
Since you are on JDeveloper 11g R2, the use of JSF 2 system events also becomes possible. The system event would be added to a component on the fragment (e.g. the fragment root layout container) and then listen for the render pre-render phase.

1- I create a ZP00 condition value =100$ valid from 01.09.2009 to 31.12.2009
2- I create new ZP00 condition value= 160$ valid from 01.01.2010 to 31.12.2999
To day, I decide to change the ZP00 condition value,
3- I created a new ZP00 condition with value=160$ valid from 11.09.2009 to 31.12.2009
The system doesn't issue any warning message to tel me that there is a gap in value between the new condition and the old condition valid for the same period
In fact the system compare the new condition value with the last created condition, hence it doesn't find any difference, and as consequence no warning is issued.
I expect that system compares the new condition value to the condition value valid for the same period and not the last condition
==> Shall I post an OSS for this problem ??

Limitation in Chart Navigation or drilldown

Hi all,
I changed the column formule to include conditional navigation like

Also i tried using custom text

this also works fine in table view on column but not in chart

Apex popup URL on branch

Hi,
I'm trying to generate a popup page by inserting:
javascript:popupURL('f?p=&APP_ID.:79:&SESSION.')
in the "URL target" field of a BRANCH (target page: 79)
It works fine on buttons, but I'd like to apply it on a branch because Button Items haven't the "Optional URL Redirect" settings.
Any idea?

In your branch enter a request - POPUP
On your branch target page create a conditional region with this in the footer:
javascript:popupURL('f?p=&APP_ID.:79:&SESSION.')
and a PL/SQL Expression as a condition:
:REQUEST IN ('POPUP')
This will open a popup whenever you branch to that page using that particular branching process.
