Hi,
You can check the values of your parameters in your after parameter form trigger
IF :FROMDATE IS NULL AND :BATCH IS NULL THEN
    RETURN FALSE;
ELSIF :FROMDATE IS NOT NULL AND :TODATE IS NULL THEN
    RETURN FALSE;
END IF;
RETURN TRUE;Regards

  • Validating strings using value sets...

    Hello,
    A client requested the functionality so that a comma delimited string of item numbers could be used as criteria for a report. Validating the item numbers was not a problem except that validation occurs in a report trigger after the request has already been submitted. How do I set up a value set to use a procedure for validation?

  • Export to excel using value set

    Hi all,
    I have an ALV table and in some columns I show the texts defining value_set (set_attribute_value_set). When I export the table to Excel using the standard button in the file I can see the codes, not the defined texts. How can I solve it? I thought about defining additional columns which will contain the texts and will be invisible in the screen and visible in Excel sheet instead of the column with codes, but I would like to know if there is any easier solution.
    Thank you,
    Anna

    Hi
    You can use Filedownload control to download the content you prepare as XML
    reading the context.
    For Ex: if you have product ID, Product Name and price as attributes.
    you can create the XML string as
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?>
    <products>
    <product>
       <productID>1234</productID>
       <productName>Sony</productName>
       <price>1234.00</price>
    </product>
    <product>
       <productID>1234</productID>
       <productName>Sony</productName>
       <price>1234.00</price>
    </product>
    </products>
    copy paste this in note pad name the file as products.xls and open it in MSXL.
    similarly you can read the context and form this xstring and just supply to filedownload control.

    Hi KittyCat101,
    If I understand correctly, you want to use a parameter to filter Status field that starts with “Is” or “Can” or “Fi”. If in this scenario, we can refer to the following steps to achieve your goal:
    Modify the available values for @Status parameter to “Is”, “Can” and “Fi”.
    Right-click the tablix or dataset to open the properties dialog box.
    Select Filter in the left pane, then add a filter like below to filter Status field:
    Expression: =Fields!Status.Value like (Parameters!Status.Value & "*")  Type: Boolean
    Operator: =
    Value: true
    If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • How to use the :$PROFILE$ token in a table validation value set

    Hi Community,
    Let me explain the scenario.
    We have a Flex Value Set (CLIENTES SERVICIO DIRECTO) with a table validation, included in the PO Headers DFF, which shows a LOV with the Ship-to addressfrom the customer which we want to serve the goods; i.e. we are acting as a commisionists and the supplier puts the goods in the Ship-to address of the customer.
    This Flex Value Set, as I mentioned, have a table validation, with the following validation table information:
    Table Application: Oracle Receivables
    Table Name: RA_ADDRESSES_ALL a, RA_CUSTOMERS b
    Table Columnns: b.CUSTOMER_NAME Varchar2(20), a.PARTY_LOCATION_ID Varchar2(20)
    Where/Order By: a.CUSTOMER_ID = b.CUSTOMER_ID
    Additional Columns: a.ADDRESS1 "Dirección"(20), a.CITY "Ciudad"(10)
    If we translate this to a SQL code:
    select a.address1,
    a.city,
    a.party_location_id,
    b.customer_name
    from ra_addresses_all a,
    ra_customers b
    where a.customer_id = b.customer_id
    and b.customer_id = 6283 <--- This last condition clause is for narrowing the result to the interested customer.
    This select retrive us two records; for the same customer, one of them for one organization_id (let's say 85) and one of them for the other organization_id (84).
    What we are looking for and want is that the LOV, which actually display the two records, shows only the ship-to site of the customer that belongs to the organization_id which belongs the user who queries or creates the Purchase Order.
    I.e. Suppose that we enter to Purchasing using the responsibility assigned to the Operating Unit or Organization_id 84. We want that theLOV only shows the Ship-to Site from the customer that belongs to the Operating Unit or Organization_id 84.
    I believe that we can achieve this using the :$PROFILE$ token, but we do not know how.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks a lot for your answer.

    Hi Rcana,
    We have just test your suggestion and it works. We believe that the correc sentence was fnd_profile.get('profile_name'), but the value feature solve the problem. Thanks for your help.

  • Mandatory Condition with parameters

    I am trying to enforce a rule that a date range must be specified whenever querying a particular table. I tried using a mandatory condition with parameters, but it appears that parameters can only be used in workbooks, not in business areas. Have I got this right ? If so, is there any other way the administrator can enforce this rule ?

    You are right that parameters are not supported by Discoverer Administrator. But on metalink there are documents on how to accomplish it manually: note 282249.1 and 304192.1

  • Value Set Use More Than One table

    folks, is there a way to use more than one table in the value set of type table?

    ok if i want to create a view and then when i'm trying to create a table value set. what application should i be selecting? i have created my view in apps schema. if i look in application object library then i do not see it in the list. So i need to register this view? and i think we could not register the views. We could only register tables in apps.Yes you can -- In the Value Sets form (Edit Information button), you can set the view name in the "Table Name" field, and write a (Where/Order by) condition in the same window.

  • Using conditional formatting on negative values in Web Analysis 931

    Hi All,
    Can I please have your thoughts on the below:
    We open a web analysis report in Analyze View.
    The scenarios are in the columns and we are trying to apply conditional formatting on negative values.
    We right click the scenario in the columns and click Formatting...
    We then tick the Conditional Formatting check box and we want to add a condition on negative numbers.
    However we can only enter positive values as the - sign is not accepted. This means we cannot apply conditional formatting on negative values.
    Does anyone know how this can be done? Am I missing the obvious?
    Thanks for your help.
    Seb

    Gotcha. Ok. Have you thought about creating a new hidden calculated ColumnB whereby you multiply the values in ColumnA by -1 and then set your formatting based on the result in ColumnB. If the value in B is positive then you know A was a negative number so you can go from there, in a round about way? I don't have time at the moment to think it all the way out but something to think about. If your formatting involves just colors you could use Traffic Lighting to set the color on ColumnA based on result in ColumnB. Traffic Lighting out of the box is limited but it's a start until you have time to build your own.

  • Can I set a Session Variable from a Dashboard Prompt, using values that are

    Hi All
    Trying to set a Session Variable to an integer value, by letting users select a text value from the drop-down list on a Dashboard Prompt. The goal is to set the input parameter to the IndexCol function, but to provide the end users with a text description of what they are setting.
    Select Value Set Variable Value
    My 0
    My Team 1
    My Companies 2
    My Teams Companies 3
    Any suggestions on how to accomplish this? Certainly we could populate the drop-down from a data source, however I don't see how to populate a variable with something other than the values on the screen.
    The IndexCol function is referenced in a Filter in Answers, and I'm thinking to populate a Session variable using the (Presentation) variable value set from the prompt. But how to do this? I see a reference to a function NQSSetSessionValue(), but cannot find documentation on how it works.
    Any clue will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi kishore..
    Looks like the link u have sent uses advanced SQL tab to set session variables. I want to know if I can use "set variable NQ_SESSION.myvar= @something" in the "SQL results" -while creating a dashboard prompt-.
    Purpose: I want the session variable to be set based on whatever report that im currently in.
    And i dont want to use presentation variables because im using a reset button in my page.
    My reset script resets presentation variables and NOT session variables.
    Thanks in advance

  • How to change table value set using FND_LOAD

    Hi ,
    I need to change my existing " table valueset " tablename .
    As i know we cont change it from front end if it is created once. but i am trying to create same value set in other instance and uploading it using FND_LOAD .
    Is it Possible ?
    IF yes please guide ?
    I feel greate if any one helps me.

    Hi,
    You could use FNDLOAD to download the values, and edit the ldt file before uploading it back using FNDLOAD.
    Search My Oracle Support for "FNDLOAD afffload.lct", you should get couple of hits which should be helpful.

  • What is the use of setting null values to Objects?

    What is the use of setting null values to Objects?
    regards,
    namanc

    It's more of a safety trap within java to handle the "programmers are still humans" exception.
    String myname;
    // print what???? Forgot to initialize the name!
    System.out.println(myname);Java will complain about myname not being initialized. It won't when you do this:
    String myname = null;
    // allright, your name is null
    System.out.println(myname);In the second case you are showing to java that you know what you are doing.

  • How to use Special value set with Column clause to display addtional column

    hi
    can anyone tell me
    How to use Special value set with Column clause to display addtional column
    how can i use FND POPID and with COLUMN clause ?

    Dear Yaseen,
                To get the value in formula cumulative,after you have created the formula for that particular key figure,go to edit and click on tab "calculations".
    In that select overall result as 'count all values not equal to zero' and single result as 'count all values not equal to zero' .
    And mark the cumulative check box underneath.
    I hope you get the desired result and please do me favour .

  • Value set using non-Apps table

    Hi All
    Can I use a third party application table (not belonging to Apps) in Value Set (GL Super User > Setup > Financials > Validation > Sets). The purpose is to create a DFF and use this value set as a LOV.
    Thanks
    Anand

    As long as you can access the table from apps schema, it should be no problem.
    There's no validation on the table field in value set, so you can insert custom tables, views without issues.
