Conditions: Variables on date key figures

Dear Sirs,
I am trying to create a condition on a key figure of type date (subtype: dats). I want the user to select a date interval for this condition, using variables.
The problems seems to be that the variable input screen thinks the user should enter an amount and not a date. If I enter a date in the variable then no data is beeing displayed.
So how can I get the variable to understand that the input is a date ?
Has anyone done what I try to do sucessfully.

thanks for your input. However, I am not able to get it to work.
I create a condition on the key figure "date". I use e.g greater than. Then create a variable with replacement path to 0CALDAY, and transfer the condition.
When I run the report I get the following error.
Termination message sent

And when you create the formula variable it allows only the following Dimensions :

Price
Quantity
ie Date is not one of the allowable Dimensions - is there any way round this apart from an Exit variable ?

Hi,
You have to create a formula variable with replacement path based on the date you want.
so that you can get the date for calculation.so you can apply condition.

I'm not exactly using an update rule, i'm using Integrated Planning component.
Customer would like to set this key figure on user action; ie for example
user validate a step within planning process by pressing a button on workbook.
then system is stamping system date within cube.

Hi,
It is not possible to create the variables on Key figures directly. But we can create a formula variable with processing type 'User Entry' ,SO that the user entered value can be used in the calculations of the query.

One Variable 2 Restricted key figures on 2 different Dimensions

Hi all,
Here is my problem:
I have a cube based on SD sales items. I want to calculate 2 retricted key figures on the 0net_value retricted by a date.
The first key would be restricted by the installation date, and the second one by the cancellation date.
Those two dates are set using a user input.
When I try to do this here the error message I get:
"Variable ZD_CSDATE is used in both (structure) element EL099Z0TL38F14TMC6AL7XKQD, and element EN4ZFAZEYGZ36B06JU04297W5 for various characteristics (0CANC_DATE, 0UCINSTDATE). This is not permitted as the characteristic is required for the F4 value help structure."
I created 2 variables set by customer exit, this solve the problem but is not convenient at all. So who could use one and only one variable or how can create a variable by copy of another one?

I am sure you can make more than one Restricted Key Figures which are restricted to same variable value for some Characteristic. And secondly there is no easy copy and paste option to create 2 Customer Exit Variables. You need to find out the ABAP Code written using T-Code: CMODE for the Variable Exit and there you can copy and paste a part of this code to populate new variable. If you check the ABAP Code, you would understand what I am saying. 
I am more surprised at that F4 Help in the error message. Please investigate more in that direction.

Your requirement is not clear, you have the below setup
I have the following requirement.
1. I have a Key Figure which is Date Type.
How can a KF be of date type, or is it the value of a date characteristic that you have extracted in KF using formula variable. If yes you just need to define exception for the value greater than 0.

How to create selection variable on a Key Figure

Dear Experts,
I have a key figure 'No of Days' in the BEx Query. I need a selection variable which when the users provide the input, should give me the report output where the rows shows only those whose No of days are less or equal to the input value.
I am able to create such a selection out of a Characteristics field but I am unable to create one from a key figure.
Kindly note that we are not using the BW Portal. We are running this report in the webi from a Universe created from the BE Query.I know that it is possible to ceate such a scenario in Webi, but we want the selection coming from the BEx Query for better report performance.

Thanks for the suggestions. I cannot use the 'Condition' since this BEx query is being called from a Webi report. MDX will not recogonize the condition.
I was able to create a Variable and use it in the calculated key figurare. The problem is , I am getting 1 where the condition is met and 0 when the condition is not met. But I want to see only the results where the condition is met. How to to avoid the rows where the result is not met.
Am I getting this because there are actually 3 other key figures along in the query in addition to the key figuare ' No of days'.
Should I add some condition to the other key figuares also.

My requirement is we have key figures Supply Elements(SE) like purchase order,production order,planned order etc and Demand Elements(DE) like Deliveries,Sales order etc. All these Key figures are dragged and available in Rows.
Now my clients wants variables on SE and DE.
For SE & DE = Variable type is OPTIONAL and Variable input value =LIST VALUES.

Under :
SE - Purchase Req (ZSEOOPR),Purchase Order(ZSEOOPO),Production Order(ZSEOOPRQ) Etc..
DE-Safety Stock(ZDESS),Sales Order(ZDESRSO),Deliveries(ZDESRD) Etc..
In column it has structure which displays the month of Jan-Dec.

Calculation based on date key figures in BEx

I need to creat report for sales order data, which involved the calculation based on dates.
In my cune iam having the data at the granual level with the dates as key figures. the calculation that i need to do is VTW = Actual PGI date - Customer want date.
1) whn i run the report at the granual level my VTW is working correctly. No issues.
2) when i run the report at higher levels the date fields are updated with X, as the system is unable to aggrigate the dates. The dates are at the material level in a sales order. I need to show the VTW at the sales order level (each one of the two dates are same for all the materials). So, when i run the report with out mataril at the sales order level...i wanto sea the bothe date fields in a single line and also the VTW calculated as the different between throse two dates.
3) Once we get the VTW correctly at the sales orde level. if i drill down the report for material, i want to sea both the dates in every record againest the matarial, but the VTW only aginest the first record...that is againest the sales order. I dont waht the VTW value repeated/duplicated for all the records againest the sales order,as VTW makes sence only at the Sales Order level.
Please suggest me hwo i can achive the resulsts by meeting both Point 2 and 3.

As VTW is need to be measued at the sales order level and we always have the DATE1 & DATE2 as same for all the itesm, it should be shon as only 14 in the first record. It mean once iget the required output from Report one in a single line with VTW as 14, it should not repeat with every line , when i dril down the report for Items or materials.
Even if i can generate oly report2 as required in a single sheet ...that will be enough.
Plas kindly provide some solution as how we can achieve this,

Using Formula variable in a key figure formula

Hi Expert,
Can anyone tell me how to use a formula variable to pass the fiscal year variable value (with offset values define in different columns) to the be used in the formula (if statements)?
Currently, I create a formula variable using replacement path from the fiscal year reference object and key but it's not pull the correct value. I'm not sure what's the difference between the different objects i.e. key, external char key value, attribute value etc.
Please give me some lights.

Customer exist code 4 automatic recognisation of restricted key figures.

I have a scenerio like this.
I have Product Dimension(zpddim1) in that product release (zpdrl) In infocube(zcubepd) . Based on this
If you look at In Bex at the key figure we have created one Restrictedkey(2006.03,2006.09....) figure per Release. As the release goes forward in future(for e.g. 2006.09) then we have to add additional key figure Can you find out a way, where the query automatically recognizes the release adds it part of the data(key figure).
for the above scenerio I hav to create customer exists(I am writing code in ZXRSRU01 include program).
please help me how write the code for above scenerio.
what are the conditions,how fetch the data from that,how to create internal tables for that & all which are necessary.

"Strange behaviour 1:
When including the CKF A in a query and restricting it on the actuals infoprovider, what do you get? I created a test query with two columns: actuals and one specific budget version. So in the columns the restriction is on budget version. In the actuals column I get the expected result, i.e. the loaded data. In the budget column I would expect nothing, as I have restricted the CKF on the actuals infoprovider only. But I do get data. I get B/4 for the correct budget version. So it seems the lower level restriction on infoprovider is overriding the higher level restriction in this column."
I assume you are creating two new RKF on CKF A. Let us say R1 and R2. Is this correct?
R1 (and R2) is restricting A on 'budget version' or 'infoprovider'? It seems you are interchanging these two, though I assume these are separate characteristics.

Key Figure Summation in Result Row with Cumulation Ticked

Hi,
I have a Bex question regarding the summation rows.
I need a Year To Date amount and a Period To Date amount in the report. However, there is no Year To Date key figure available in the cube. So in order to calculate YTD, I'm using the PTD key figure and have Cumulated box ticked mark in Bex.
All looks fine across columns per Vendor. But the results row for the Cumulative Balance is always equal to the results row for Period Balances. I believe this is because the same key figure is used, and it is only reading the amounts in the cube - not the ones calculated on the fly.
Does anyone know how to correct the results row for a cumulated key figure?

You have to create two restricted KF; one is PTD restricted to period; the second is PTD restricted in a period range from 01.yyyy to current period.

Calculated Key Figures Decimal Place Error

Hi Experts,
Wonder if there is anybody to help me out to explain why I am having a problem on the calculated key figures decimal places when if I report on the components of the calculated key figure (restricted key figure) are working correctly?
The calculated key figure is a boolean formula made up of 2 restricted key figures. The 2 restricted key figure are having 2 decimal place (one is 0.36 another is 0.00). In the current condition, the 2 restricted key figure just sums up - 0.36 + 0.00 = 0.36. However the calculated key figure displayed as 0.359999 (6 decimal places) as the result.
I am using BEx Analyzer Excel.

Report Painter - Characteristic cannot be combined with key figures

I have added a new field (ZZABTEI) to the report structure CCSS and using that field as a characteristic in the report. But when I execute the report, it is giving the error "Characteristic ZZABTEI cannot be combined with key figures". Can anyone help me to solve this issue.

There no code for this. I had to add the new field to CCSS structure. Then there were some configuration to be done. Then this message is got when the report in the report painter is executed. The details of this error message is as follows :
Characteristic ZZABTEI cannot be combined with key figures
Message no. GR410
Diagnosis
Characteristic ZZABTEI is being used in a report with a key figure that does not match this characteristic.
System Response
The system cancels generation.
Procedure
Check the report definition: the key figures used must be compatible with characteristic ZZABTEI. For examples of useful combinations of characteristics and key figures, see the SAP standard reports.
Technical explanation: The Report Writer table assigned to the report is defined as a view with multiple database tables (somewhat similar to Report Writer table CCSS) and a key figure used in the report refers to a database table which does not contain characteristic ZZABTEI.
Example 1 for table CCSS: If the 'cost' or 'quantity' key figures are used in a report (referring to tables COSP and COSS), you cannot use the 'Statistical key figure' (only occurs in table COSR) characteristic in the rows. On the contrary, using the 'Cost element' (tables COSP and COSS) characteristic is not permitted for the 'Statistical quantity' (table COSR) key figure.
Example 2 for table CCSS: If a report only displays line item data (key figures IE... or PE...), you cannot use the 'PERBL' characteristic, because it is only valid for summary data. You have to use the 'PERIO' characteristic for line item data.

Dynamic choose which key figure to be showed on query

Hi, everybody.
I'm trying to build a query where, based on the user selection (maybe a variable input) the key figure A or B is showed. The key figure, due design requirements, is restricted in several lines inside a structure on query.
For example, the structure seems like this:
+Sold Quantity (restricted key figure: 0QUANTITY)
+Revenue (restricted key figure: 0AMOUNT + DOC_TYPE = 'XYZ')
+Returns (restricted key figure: 0AMOUNT + DOC_TYPE = 'ABC')
What I want is, depending on a user input, change the key figure restricted in 2nd and 3rd rows to oher, for example, ZAMOUNT.
Any tips or any idea if it is possible?

You can do it by using the basic formula <user input> * 0amount + <user input inverse> * zamount.
you can create that formula in calculated key figures.
here the user should be able to enter <user input> only 0 or 1...where 0 will give zamount values ....input value 1 will allow 0amount value to be shown..suppressing the other keyfigure.
Let me know if its clear ... else i can explain in further detail.
