  • Install and config issues with Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer

For a while now I've been struggling with migrating a testing database to a newer version.
And right now I'm pretty much stuck at trying to configure Oracle Portal, Forms Reports and Discoverer
    What I've got:
    Windows server 2008 R2 64bit
    Oracle 11g database
    Java 6u27 64bit
JDK 1.6 64bit (using this after 1.7 ended up throwing out bugs while trying to start a weblogic server)
    JDK 1.7 64bit
Weblogic 10.3.5 (or so i think - I've installed from the wls1035_generic.jar from the oracle website)
PFRD 11.1.1.2 with 11.1.1.3 installed over it, installed without config
    and a hanging up configuration
Basically I've been trying to install PFRD (only forms, reports and enterprise manager from it actually) but it kept failing once it got to the configuration stage, so I installed without config, applied 11.1.1.3 and now trying to run the config manually with the good old \bin\config.bat
Result - the config froze for approx.18 hours then failed
There isn't much useful info I could deduct from the logs, mostly just says one or more configuration parts failed. At one place it mentions trying to set up a domain and starting up an adminserver for it - and apparently that's where it hangs up and finally times out and fails.
I'm a little clueless what to do about it as the logs don't say anything else of use I could understand. Any ideas there?

Trying the step by step, the only difference between that and what i do seems to be the file copying (which I can't do - there is no windows\extra\ directory anywhere, the files mentionned seem to already be on their places and either only there, or exactly the same) and clistering
So far the news ain't good - the config process hangs on creating domain ->Step Creating Domain started
It isn't frozen per se - the process doesn't use up any processor time, memory consumption within bounds, it reacts to button clicks and all..it just doesn't do anything concerning the said domain
the last thing the .out file shows:
Creating a new AdminServer Object ...
    AdminServer port is 7002
    Starting the domain ...
LOADING DLL : E:\OracleDb\Middleware\develtools\install\config\\StartUtil64.dlland in the log:

I'm kinda paranoid about the double backslash in the dll path, but other than that no clue as to why the domain doesn't set up

does that clear up anything for you though?
..can the lack of SOA suite have anything to do with the problem?

  • MMS not working in iPhone4S when installing config profile with APN

When we use the iPhone Configuration Utility (either the latest version or previous versions) to create a config profile with APN info, then install the profile to an iPhone4S, we noticed that MMS (multimedia messaging) was no longer working. This means we could not send or receive MMS messages. And this is MMS going over the MMS protocol (and not iMessage). We had not seen this before. We routinely do config profiles with APN info and have done for all iPhone models and iOS version before the new iPhone4S. Never had a problem with MMS or anything else. This is for iPhone4S devices in the AT&T network. It is easy to reproduce and you don't need an enterprise APN for that. In fact just a config profile with AT&T's APN settings will still break MMS when installed (other than the MMS, everything else works fine).
It does not appear an iOS 5 issue. iPhone4 (or iPhone3GS) with iOS 5 do not have this problem. It appears to be tied to the new iPhone4S hardware. The same configuration profile (with the APN info) works fine on iPhone4 with iOS 5 (MMS works fine), but when you put the very same configuration profile to an iPhone4S, MMS quits working.
Doing a network reset does not solve the problem. Only removing the profile fixes the MMS
    Any ideas, explanations or workarounds?

I called the Apple care line, and eventually got to 4th tier support, where they declared that there must be an issue with the APN I'm using, regardless of the fact that none of the iPhone 3G, 3GS', and 4's in our office are experiencing this issue while using the same APN.  I guess I shouldn't be surprised about this, afterall who'd expect Apple to actually admit there's a "bug" in one of their products, especially since this is hapenning to a very small number of users on the 4S.  Getting to 4th tier support was free, but to be able to talk to someone who can actually investigate this issue will cost $700.
I offered to give them access to our private APN for testing, but they were "unable to do that sort of testing".  Additionally, we have tested using a public APN from AT&T (wap.cingular), and still experience the same issue.
Lastly,  I did some further digging, and I think it has something to do with PDP Context 2 not getting an IP address.  As a disclaimer, I have no clue what a PDP Context is, what it does, what it's for, but obviously MMS needs it.  Going into field test mode on the phone will allow you to see the PDP Contexts, and is where I got this info from.
On the iPhone 4S, without an APN profile installed, the PDP Contexts are listed 0-3.  These 4 contexts have values for an APN, and an IPv4 address, although context 0 and 2 are the only ones that have values in them.
When an APN profile isnt installed, MMS' can be sent, cellular internet doesn't work., the values are:
    Context 0
    IPv4:    ip is blank
APN:   phone (this is the default APN for the iphone 4s on att).
    Context 2
IPv4:     has a valid public IP address
    APN:     wap.cingular
When an APN profile is installed, MMS's can't be sent, but cellular internet does work, the values are:
    Context 0:
IPv4:     Valid public IP address is present
    APN:     Our enterprise APN
    Context 2:
    IPv4:     ip is  blank.
    APN:     wap.cingular
It appears that when Context 2 has an IP address, MMS' are able to be sent.  One other interesting fact, on the iPhone 4, only 1 PDP Context is listed, while the 4S has 4 listed.
Hopefully this issue will be resolved in the 5.1 update, as this update contains a baseband update for the 4S, updating it from 1.0.14 to 1.2.01-1.  Unfortunately I don't have access to a 5.1 beta, otherwise I'd test this my self.  If anyone has access to the beta, and wants to test APN profiles/MMS send status, we'd greatly appreciate it!

  • SAP Netweaver with BI/BW content Trial

I was planning on some training myself on the SAP BW and was looking to download any trial version out there for the SAP Netweaver with BI/BW content. I have seen a couple of versions NW 2004 for Linux, NW 7.01 for ABAP and NW 7.02 for ABAP that are named on the SDN but the first two versions that i have mentioned dont have any valid links and they dont exist in the SAP Knowledge Shop either. The only version that is available is the NW 7.02 for ABAP but this trial version doesnt include the BI/BW content in it.
I would appreciate if someone can help me finding a valid trial download links for NW which has the BI/BW content in it. Any version would help me.
    Thanks,
    Basarath

Like I explained, the version NW 7.01 download links are no longer valid and the post that you have referenced refer to 7.01.
The links for 7.02 version are valid but it doesn't have the BW content in it. Here is the link that clearly explains my scenario
Setting up a SAP BI/BW System based on the SAP ABAP Trial
I would need a trial version that has BI/BW content in the installation file.
Anyways, I have found some paid remote server access to SAP BW on one of the websites.
Thanks for taking some time to look into this thread.

  • How to choose input language in system NetWeaver with SSO manually?

    Dear All,
How to choose input language in system NetWeaver with SSO to the user manually? If a user is created only in one client.
    Thank you.
    Best Regards
    Vitalii.

If your question is when he logins through Portal/Java side, how to change language
I have faced this kind of an issue in GRC, on the Java side when you create a user language setting rectangle box will be in
make sure to fill it in , another possibility if the configuration are done correctly,
you can browse for the language you need for the  user to login from the "Loginpage" if the languages are supported
    To make is simple:
Set that user to have a particular lanaguage in UME, or allow the user to have the language box browsable you will need both Basis and Portal teams help on this from the perspective of install(languages) and views

  • Need to identify SAP Netweaver with PI installed

    Hi All,
I need to identify SAP component version in ABAP code. for that I am retrieving status of the system fr0m CVERS_TXT table.
but for identifying PI system  it is returning u2018SAP Netweaveru2019 which is not valid because if it only Netweaver without PI installed then also it will consider SAP system as PI.
So need to figure out exact table or transaction from where i can get this information.
I need to differentiate the pure SAP netweaver system and SAP netweaver with PI.
    Please guide on the same.
    Thanks in advance,
    Arati.
Edited by: Arati Kale on Jan 3, 2012 6:49 AM

    Hi Shantanu,
    Thanks for your response.
I checked SXMB_ADMIN transaction and on PI system it is showing role of busniess system as 'Integration server'. I checked the same on other system without PI it is showing role of busniess system as 'Not yet configured'.
So I want to just check what will be role of busniess system when PI is installed but basic configuration is not yet done.
    Thanks,
    Arati.

  • License Key for a - Netweaver with BW (30 Day Trial )

I installed 30 day trial version of an Netweaver with BW. After the installation I also wanted to do some programming but than I needed a developer key, my problem is that the "Installation Nr." is called "INITIAL" and not "DEMOSYSTEM" like the SAP Sneak Preview from the SDN page though the license key which you can order there doesn't work. Is there a way to get an developer key for my system?
I would be very happy if someone could give me a hint or an adress where to ask.
    System settings
    SID: NSP
    InstallationNr.: INITIAL

The developer key provided on the Sneak Preview page should work.  Worked for me.  You may want to register for a license for DEMOSYSTEM.  This will extend you trial to 90 days(I think).  Please read the instructions for license key and developer key.

Netweaver itself is based on ABAP and Java technology, but it provides several interfaces to other technologies like Microsoft .NET.
    These interfaces include:
    - ESA (Enterprise Services)
    - Soap Processor in Web Application Server 6.20 and higher.
    - .NET PDK (Portal Development Kit)
    - SAP connector for Microsoft .NET (NCo).

  • JMS Adapter Config issues with Plan.xml

    Hi All,
I'm learning how to configure JMS Resources in WLS to use within a JMS adapter in my application. My approach so far has been :
    1. Configure Outbound Connection in JMS Adapter : eis/wls/Queue. I used the weblogic.jms.XAConnectionFactory as the Connection Factory.
    2. Create Queue within SOAJMSModule : jms/MyQueue and target - soa managed server.
Updated the JMSAdapter.rar deployment and restarted the SOA server as well as the JMS module.
    3. Create JMS Adapter within JDeveloper to use jms/MyQueue as the destination and eis/wls/Queue as the JNDI source.
On deployment and running, I see this following error. Apologies it is a bit difficult to trawl through. I did have a look in the Plan.xml and it definitely has an entry for this Adapter and the jndi-name. Any other approach?
Oracle.sysman.emSDK.webservices.wsdlapi.SoapTestException: Exception occured when binding was invoked. Exception occured during invocation of JCA binding: "JCA Binding execute of Reference operation 'PostException' failed due to: JCA Binding Component connection issue. Unable to locate the JCA Resource Adapter via .jca binding file element <connection-factory/> The JCA Binding Component is unable to startup the Resource Adapter specified in the <connection-factory/> element: location='eis/wls/Queue'. The reason for this is most likely that either 1) the Resource Adapters RAR file has not been deployed successfully to the WebLogic Application server or 2) the '<jndi-name>' element in weblogic-ra.xml has not been set to eis/wls/Queue. In the last case you will have to add a new WebLogic JCA connection factory (deploy a RAR). Hi JB,
Please follow the below steps from beginning...
    1. Create the JMS Server in the Admin Console, the target server for the same should be the soa server
    2. create new JMS Module.
    3. Create new Connection factory in resources, give your JNDI names, the target servers should be the admin and the soa.
    4. create new queue, give the JNDI names, the target server should be the JMS Server which you have created in the step 1 above.
    5. Now go to deployments, slect the JMS adapter, click update, and say redeploy with the location of JMS-plan.xml given below...
    6. Now inside the composite while configuring the JMS adapter, select the queue which you have created above.
If you have followed the abpve steps correctly, you should not face any problem.
    Hope this helps,
