Configuration Assistants have failed
Hello,
After reading all the docs about AS, checking requirements, i finally launched the installer.
Everything was fine until the Configuration Assistants.
A file named hs_err_pid6685.log was created.
It contains the lines above :

Well ...
Finally, all went fine !
I tried several installation/uninstallation of the Infrastructure until i noticed that i couldn't copy/modify the files that were affected by an error.
It appeared that my HDD had bad sectors and OUI couldn't read the some files it had written.
One fsck later, i'm back with a completed Infrastructure installation.
Now i'll go for the second round with Middle Tier :).

ORACLE NOTIFICATION SERVER CONFIGURATION ASSISTANT(CLUSTERWARE)-FAIL
While Installing Oracle RAC Release 2 on Solaris 10 with NFS Mount, i am running into the following issue.
Step 1:

I believe the issue, here is location of ocr.loc file. I do not have ocr.loc file created yet.

pinjamJust in case anyone finds this thread, the problem is that the NFS mount is not configured properly, and thus the root.sh script is failing almost straight away.
Ensure that the NFS server has the following options in /etc/dfs/dfstab (Solaris 10) to allow root access:
share -F nfs -o rw,root=orac1.domain.com:orac2.domain.com /oraclerac/crs_files
share -F nfs -o rw,root=orac1.domain.com:orac2.domain.com /oraclerac/oradata
You can find out if this is the problem simply by (as root) trying to chown a file anywhere on the NFS mount.
Output of the root.sh script should be more like this:

Oracle 8i Database Configuration Assistant Install fails
the log says "Downloads\Oracle\Oracle is an invalid command line argument." Where can I correct this (path problem?)? There was no \Downloads directory at the time of install....

GregWell, that is not much of an option right now. I discovered that I have to reinstall the XP Pro OS after attempting the 11g installation 4 times and the install always stalled at 69% during the initial installation. I did have Windows Service Pack 3 installed on the system. I down graded and added 1 G of additional memory and checked the pre-check with no problem. But, the install continued to stall at 69%. So, and, yet, here we are.
Now in regards to the metalink notes, I am new to the forum, so I don't know my way around quite yet. Isn't the metalink the paid suppport option? If so, I don't have that access. -
11g fails in Database Configuration Assistant with ORA-01919
I'm installing 11g on a 32-bit CentOS (redhat) box, and the Database Configuration Assistant is failing with
ORA-01919: role 'XDBADMIN' does not exist
I can in fact read, so I do know what's causing this particular error (and all the cascading errors if I hit the "ignore" button) but I don't know what I missed earlier in the installation process that should have created this role.
The Database Configuration Assistant is at 46% completion when it throws up this error.
Looking in the logs under /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/cfgtoollogs/dbca/orcl/mkplug_v3_orcl.log
I see this particular error in

Also, while it seems an obvious question, but did you specifically download and install the Oracle Client for Windows Itanium 64-bit, and not the 32 bit version? -
Agent Configuration assistant failed while 9i installation
Hi I have been installing 9i on my system....everything was fine until I reached the Configuration Tools wizard.
Under this all the tools succeeded in installing except : Agent Configuration assistant, it failed and when I looked into the details it says:
Parameter "orahome" = C:\oracle\ora92
Parameter "nodeinfo" = NO_VALUE
Agent Service Failed
Can anyone help me I am stuck at this point..

Failed to Install the "Oracle Web Services Manager Configuration Assistant"
The installation of "Oracle Web Services Manager Configuration Assistant" was failed when I installed the "Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.1.0" ,and the failure information about the installation in the log show as follows, I need your help,thanks a lot!

Configuration Assistant failed during OEM 10g Grid control installation
Hi i got an error while installing OEM 10g Grid control 10.2.0.2.1 on Windows 2008 32bit server.
Installation of OEM 10g was successfull but during configuration im getting an error "ORA-12560: TNS: protocol adaptor error". hence configuration assistant get failed to create emrep database. i stopped the TNSListener service and started db creation using DBCA again i got the same error. please find the below logs from db10g/cfgtoollogs/cfgfw

Thank you for the information. I installed 3 times but still the same problem persists. Apache is working fine. Hosts file also configured with the same system IP. Is this component important for executing 9i forms and reports. Is there any way to install this component alone.

How to start iSQL*Plus configuration Assistant on Command Line?
I have almost successfully installed oralce 10gR2 in opensolaris 5.11, In the final stage, Among the three Configuration Assistants:
the Net Configuration Assistant and Database Configuration Assistant have completed successfully, but OUI hang in the iSQL*Plus Configuration Assistant.
No response after a very long time.
Could anybody tell me how to manually start iSQL*Plus configuration Assistant on Command Line?

Anyhow, I found an easier way to do this:
1)Just run installer again to start the OUI:
#./runInstaller
2)Choose "Custom" installation option
3)check the box at "iSQL*Plus" for reinstall
4)The OUI will first deinstall iSQL*Plus, and then reinstall it, and will automatically start "iSQL*Plus configuration Assistant".
This procedure applies to any component of oracle which failed at first time installation. -
OEM10g install: ORACLE NET CONFIGURATION ASSISTANT HANGS
After the execution of "allroot.sh", the configuration assistant window comes up and then "Oracle Net Configuration Assistant" shows "in progress..." indefinitely. I can not proceed further. When I stop it, the OUI exits.
I raised a TAR 3 times but did not get a resolution. If any of you had this issue, I would appreciate if you could help me
