  • Configuration Property Editor

    I'm wondering if anyone elses has seen this problem with using the Configuration Property Toolset:
    When implementing with the ConfigTool (v3) "Get Subproperties" subVI with settings of  "Get Property => get subproperties", I've discovered a bug in the software for configurations numbers greater then or equal to 10:
     [DataClass.CC-ATE-TPS-726860-WalkingZeroInputs.Instrument.PXI#IP409#1.Configuration#1]
    ClusterCriticalElements_I32=4
    ChanDirection_U32=31361
    ChanMask_U32=31361
    ChanValue_U32=321
    ResetCard_BOOL=TRUE
    [DataClass.CC-ATE-TPS-726860-WalkingZeroInputs.Instrument.PXI#IP409#1.Configuration#17]
    ChanValue_U32=31360
    ClusterCriticalElements_I32=1
    What will happen is if I request just the "...Configuration#1",   I end up getting both the subproperties for Configuration#1 and Configuration#17?
    Is there a correction to this problem???

  • ORA-16792 Configuration Property value is inconsistent with database set...

    Hi All:
    I am on 10.2.0.3 with physical standby against my primary.
    I few days ago I changed the parameter log_archive_max_processes on both primary & standby (without using DG Broker) & I think that's the reason for this message. ORA-16792 explanation is unclear to me. Log transfer and application work fine, primary & standby are in synch.
    If somebody experienced that problem kindly share the solution or point me into the right direction.
    TIA.

    (without using DG Broker) ...But you HAVE a running dataguard broker environment? At least the error message indicates this, don't change parameters outside the broker,that makes your standby environment inconsistent.
    Error:     ORA-16792 (ORA-16792)
    Text:     Some configurable property value is inconsistent with the
         database setting.
    Cause:     The values of one or more configurable properties are
         inconsistent with database in-memory settings or SPFILE settings.
         This may be caused by a user operation on the database outside of
         the Data Guard broker's control.
    Action:     Query property InconsistentProperties on the database or check
         the Data Guard broker log to find which properties are
         inconsistent. Reset these properties to make them consistent with
         the database settings.

  • Is there a way to configure managed properties on a superclass?

    Hi,
    I'm looking for a way to set a managed property on a superclass of a managed bean rather than setting it on every single managed bean extending that superclass.
    Here's a simple scenario. I've got an application scoped managed bean called "configuration" which holds (what a surprise) some configuration. It is configured like this:
         <managed-bean>
              <managed-bean-name>configuration</managed-bean-name>
              <managed-bean-class>myapp.model.ConfigurationModel</managed-bean-class>
              <managed-bean-scope>application</managed-bean-scope>
         </managed-bean>
    Now I want to use this bean from within some other request scoped managed beans (Let's say bean1 .. beanN). Of course I could inject the configuration bean into every single bean like this:
         <managed-bean>
              <managed-bean-name>bean1</managed-bean-name>
              <managed-bean-class>myapp.model.Bean1</managed-bean-class>
              <managed-bean-scope>request</managed-bean-scope>
              <managed-property>
                   <property-name>configuration</property-name>
                   <property-class>myapp.model.Configuration</property-class>
                   <value>#{configuration}</value>
              </managed-property>
         </managed-bean>
         <managed-bean>
              <managed-bean-name>beanN</managed-bean-name>
              <managed-bean-class>myapp.model.BeanN</managed-bean-class>
              <managed-bean-scope>request</managed-bean-scope>
              <managed-property>
                   <property-name>configuration</property-name>
                   <property-class>myapp.model.Configuration</property-class>
                   <value>#{configuration}</value>
              </managed-property>
         </managed-bean>
    The Java code of each bean would look like this:
         public class Bean1 {
              protected Configuration configuration;
              public void setConfiguration(Configuration aConfiguration) {
                   configuration = aConfiguration;
         public class BeanN {
              protected Configuration configuration;
              public void setConfiguration(Configuration aConfiguration) {
                   configuration = aConfiguration;
    One enhancement of this approach obviously is to define a super class for the beans which holds the configuration variable and its setter to prevent duplicate code. This would look like this:
         public class SuperBean {
              protected Configuration configuration;
              public void setConfiguration(Configuration aConfiguration) {
                   configuration = aConfiguration;
         public class Bean1 extends SuperBean {}
         public class BeanN extends SuperBean {}
    And now for the real problem. I'd like to use the advantage of using a superclass in the Java code on the faces configuration aswell. That means, I'd like to define the dependency injection only once for all beans extending SuperBean and not for every single bean. Probably like this:
         <managed-bean>
              <managed-bean-class>myapp.model.SuperBean</managed-bean-class>
              <managed-property>
                   <property-name>configuration</property-name>
                   <property-class>myapp.model.Configuration</property-class>
                   <value>#{configuration}</value>
              </managed-property>
         </managed-bean>
         <managed-bean>
              <managed-bean-name>bean1</managed-bean-name>
              <managed-bean-class>myapp.model.Bean1</managed-bean-class>
              <managed-bean-scope>request</managed-bean-scope>
         </managed-bean>
         <managed-bean>
              <managed-bean-name>beanN</managed-bean-name>
              <managed-bean-class>myapp.model.BeanN</managed-bean-class>
              <managed-bean-scope>request</managed-bean-scope>
         </managed-bean>
    Of course this doesn't work because JSF does not lookup superclasses automatically. But I would be grateful if anyone has a solution or an idea for achieving this, because it would notably simplify the faces configuration.
    These are the directions my own investigations took me so far:
    - Using an "extends" attribute: <managed-bean extends="superbean">
    This would be nice, but it would mean to use my own JSF implementation. I often use "extends" attributes on XML configurations, because it brings the pattern of inheritance with all its advantages to XML.
    - Right now I'm checking if a custom PropertyResolver could do the trick.
    Looking forward to your suggestions.
    Regards
    Frank

    There is no way in the default JSF implementation.
    You may consider to replace the getter by the outcome of FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getApplicationMap().get("configuration"); This will return the application scoped managed bean instance with the managed bean name "configuration".

  • Errors starting Portal Admin Server after configuring RDBMS Security Store.

    Hi,
    I'm using WLST to build and configure the portal domain. I've already had our DBA run all the necessary scripts on the Database.
    We are using WLP 10.3 on RHEL 4 and Oracle 10G RAC. I read on some thread that RDBMS is only compatble with verion 10.3.2 but why is the feature in 10.3?
    The error below seems to point to the URL; does this mean that the RDBMS config does not support RAC databases?

    Thanks, Ravi - already did all that. I have managed to stand the whole cluster up but two niggly things - one more so!
    First, when I start any of the managed servers for the forst time, I get the error below; it's as if the managed server can't download the ldap config from the AdminServer - subsequent restarts work fine though.

    Secondly, both managed server are starting in ADMIN mode because some of the libraries aren't getting deployed. Think this is due to clashes in the Implementation-Version. I get the errors below (loads of the libraries - approx a third but I just pasted this for brevity) although after starting them with nodemanager and they go into ADMIN mode, I can always click on resume which then starts them up. Any idea why this is the case?
    Many, many, thanks!

  • Pass iView property as parameter to JSP in PAR file.

    Hi All,
    I have a custom created PAR file in which there is a JSP page there is a variable which I need to provide to users as a configurable property of the iView. So that when a user configures a value to that defined property to the iView, my JSP from the PAR should automatically pick this value and carry on the processing further as required.
    I have done some research on my behalf, which even though turned out just half of the solution, but still even then the code does not seem to work. For reference, please see link below:
    [Reference Document|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/508baf88-9335-2d10-efa6-c6ad61e5fc4b?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true]
    I need this with very critical urgency, please, kindly help.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Abhishek Goel.

    Hi Prashant,
    I am sincerely thankful for all your efforts so far, but I still have a little problem with which I am stuck and somehow I think I am doing something terribly wrong.
    Just to test, I have included a button on the JSP page and on the click event of that button I have written my code in javascript as below:
    IPortalComponentRequest  currentRequest   = (IPortalComponentRequest)pageContext.getAttribute(javax.servlet.jsp.PageContext.REQUEST);
    IPortalComponentContext  componentContext = currentRequest.getComponentContext();
    IPortalComponentProfile  profile          = componentContext.getProfile();
    var xyzVal = profile.getProperty("xyz");
    But I am still not getting the desired value in the xyzVal variable. Please advise how to go about the code.
    Also i have tried writing this code in a Java Class file. Even after making the required imports I am getting am error in the statement as indicated below:
    IPortalComponentRequest  currentRequest   = (IPortalComponentRequest)pageContext.getAttribute(javax.servlet.jsp.PageContext.REQUEST);
    Thanks,
    Abhishek Goel.

    Please check the following link;
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28419/d_dg.htm
    *ORA-16829: lagging Fast-Start Failover configuration*
    +DBMS_DG.INITIATE_FS_FAILOVER was invoked in a maximum performance fast-start failover configuration when the configuration was not in the user-specified redo lag limit.+
    Oracle Error :: ORA-16829
    fast-start failover configuration is lagging
    Cause
    The fast-start failover target standby database was not within the lag limit specified by the FastStartFailoverLagLimit configuration property. As a result, a fast-start failover could not happen in the event of a primary database failure.
    Action
    Ensure that the fast-start failover target standby database is running and applying redo data and that the primary database is successfully trasmitting redo data. If this condition persists consider raising the value of the FastStartFailoverLagLimit configuration property.

    a question on the Portal Servers Configuration
    my current  *=10.8.2.64:50400;
    default : *=localhost:8051
    i have also tried with
    *=10.8.2.64:8051; [but this was just a trial, as i do not have the 8051 port on the portal server listening]
    what is the port number i should be pointing to on the portal server ?
    with respect,

  • Financial Reporting - PDF has not been configured for this web server.

    When I try a Print Preview of my report, I received this error "PDF has not been configured for this web server".
    As far as I know, this error is confusing because when I look on my log files I found this:
    --- FRLogging.log ---
    [APP: FINANCIALREPORTING#11.1.2.0] The system cannot access the Print Server at this time. Try again later or confirm the print server name.
    [APP: FINANCIALREPORTING#11.1.2.0] Cannot connect to server on xxxHFRCE04.cf.gouv.qc.ca
    [APP: FINANCIALREPORTING#11.1.2.0] Attempt to get an undefined configuration property
    --- FRPrintLogging.log ---
    HyperionReportException: Could not connect to the server.Please make sure that the server is running as specified in the logon dialog (including port number if not default).
    I read a lot of document but it seem to be au communication issues!!!
    Can someone help me with that.

    I believe the supported version for ghost script is 7.0.6; I had the same problem and after installing the lower version it worked like a charm.
    If you cant find the older version let me know, I'll email it to you or place it in my website.
