Hi all,
I want to configure dbconsole manually...
when i tired to do with emca i got followong errors

SEVERE: Error updating /product/10.2.0/sysman/config/emoms.properties
i checked the following directory /product/10.2.0/sysman/config/ for files
That directory is empty..
Thanks

If it is RAC then make sure to set the ORACLE_SID=<instance_name> on the node, instead of db_name.
Just follow the steps.
1. set oracle_sid and oracle home
2. emca -repos recreate
3. emca -config dbcontrol db
Hope this helps.

  • Configure mail manually

    Hello guys,
I am trying to set up my email account with the new mail app, but it won't let me configure it manually. My email provider offers both pop and imap, and I don't want to use POP. However, whenever I try to "add" another account (it's an email account from "terra.com.br"), it will automatically search my provider's informations and create a POP account with Mail, which I cannot change.
    Any thoughts?
BTW: I tried creating the account at first and there was some sort of error, but I was kinda able to create the imap account. I deleted it because of the error, and now I won't get the option to choose imap.
Thanks a lot to anyone who is able to help!

Trying letting mail configure it for you. How are you trying to set it up (Hotmail doesn't support anything else other than POP (other than mobile products using it as exchange)).
You can always enter in a bogus email and password on the first setup screen, and then it will give you an option to manually enter the account information.

  • Urgent - How to configure Wireless manually ?

    Gurus,
When I installed Portal and Wireless option, I UNchecked "the automatic configuration of wireless" option.
I'm having a problem with setting up Ultrasearch portlets and a note that I found says that the wireless should be configured, is that true ? If so, how do I configure Wireless option manually ? Which script do I need to run ?
    Thanx a bunch.

After the Oracle Universal Installed is closed, you can go to Enterprise Manager tool to configure the wireless component. This configuration step will launch the wireless assistant.

    Dear,
Don't worry it will show amount at the time of simulating the document. When you simulate the document go in to the gain/loss line item you will amount inside the line item. This happens so nothing is wrong with your system or configuration.

Condition class ZClass with above character....
Dependencies ZPrice with above character combination

  • Wireless direct configuration source manual

I have a Photosmart 5520 printer and we changed router and Ithe P address schem.  On the first page of the Network configuration page the IP address is correct at10.0.1.10 (DHCP).  On the second page under "Wireless Direct" the IP address is 192.168.223.1 and the configuration source is set to Manual.  How do I change the IP address for the Wireless Direct IP address so iPrint works again?

The network configuration report can be confusing as it lists information for two different networks in the printer.
The first network is the one that connects to your home network.  On your report it is connected with an IP address of 10.0.1.10.  I would expect most of your home devices to print over your home network to that IP address.
The second network is the HP Direct Print network.  It allows devices to directly connect to the printer to print.  It's IP address shows as 192.168.223.1  If you connect a device directly to the printer it will see the printer at that IP address.
Most of your comuting devices will connect to your home network and print through it.  There should be no reason to change the HP Direct Print IP address.  I'm not sure it can be changed.
Now to resolve the printing problem.  iPrint might need to rediscover the printer.  You may need to treat the printer as a new device and delete the old connection.  Hopefully this will solve the issue.
If not - I'm guessing that there is a routing issue with the new router.  The best way to resolve that would be to power off all the computing devices, power cycle the new router, turn on the printer and wait for the blue wireless light to turn on and stay lit, then power up all the other wireless devices.
The idea is to let each device relearn the network as it comes up.  If there is still a problem after doing this there might be a configuration issue on the router that is not letting the network devices see the printer.
If neither of the above help there might be an problem with the configuration of the new router.  It's configuration  might not allow the wireless devices to see the printer.  Let us know and we will work through that.  To troubleshoot a router configuration we will need the brand and model of the router.
    Good Luck!

  • Network configuration: fully manual vs. DHCP with manual IP

Are there any OS X Server services (e.g. AFP, DHCP, DNS, OD, LDAP) that specifically require a server's network settings to be manually configured, or can they all get my with just manual IP and the rest of the configuration supplied by DHCP?

Oddly enough, I set up a server with DHCP and manual IP and added its IP to a DHCP subnet. But it was also the DHCP server. It did not accept the DHCP-delivered configuration (e.g. it couldn't find the router).
Is it the case that a DHCP server cannot serve itself with network config information?

  • Configure IPv4 Manually? Using DHCP?

I have a wireless network using WDS with an AEBS and an AX. Everything is working fine, but I noticed today that in Airport Utility under the Internet heading that my AEBS has "Using DHCP" for Configure IPv4, while the AX has "Manually." Should both of these be set to "Using DHCP"? Does it matter?

As long as the manual configuration of IP address on the Airport Express was done in manner that isn't likely to conflict with your network's DHCP server, it doesn't matter.
What IP address is shown on that Airport Express configuration screen?

  • HT201250 My Airbook can't find my hidden network, and I can't configure it manually, so that I can use time machine.  Can anyone help?

I have a Mac Airbook and was using Time machine to back up files.  I hid my network SSID and put a password on it.  I can find it to connect to the web but not to connect to the Time Machine, and the software will not allow me to manually configure it.  So now I cannot use the Time Machine to back anything up?  Can anyone help me?  Thank you.

Hidden networks are not hidden to sniffing software, thus are not invisible to hackers.
It's only used to prevent confusion or in high traffic locations where a lot of machines are connecting.
When your Mac wakes from sleep or reboots, it might not automatically reconnect to a hidden network as it has to broadcast the information blindly. Hackers can sniff this and then know you have a hidden network at home, so the Mac won't keep asking if the network is there.
Turn off hidden network on your router and use WPA2(AES) with a strong random 20+ character, letter, number, symbol password that makes no sense what so ever.

Very hard to crack that admin password.
For guest internet access set a easier one, but still long and enterable into all your devices.
If someone has it then you can rotate it for a new one.
Never keep the admin router password in any machine or computer, keep it on paper in a safe place.

can airport extreme connect using a mac mini.  this airport extreme wont connect to internet via my cable modem.  I cant set it to bridge mode because it doesnt appear as a base station in airport utitlity...help

First, is your AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) a 802.11n, 802.11g, or 802.11b model? Second, what is your primary goal for using this base station? Finally, is the AEBS the only router in your current network configuration?

ThanksAre you using Grid Control or Database Control? (Both are 'OEM'!)
Basically what is happening is that the OEM flavour you are using is trying to log into the database using user DBSNMP but it has no idea what the is password for that user.
In Grid Control, you go to the database target configuration page (Setup > Agents > host > database) and hit the configure button. The documentation is at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B16240_01/doc/install.102/e10953/getting_started_with_em.htm#CHDEDIJJ
I don't have a 10.2 with database control handy, so I don't have the path here. I would make sure DBSNMP user is unlocked and has a valid password. Then I would run the "emca -deconfig dbcontrol db repos drop" and "emca -config dbcontrol db -repos create" commands and make sure I enter the DBSNMP password correctly. Or you can follow the info athttp://thetendjee.wordpress.com/2006/07/19/changing-sysman-and-dbsnmp-passwords-it-aint-that-easy/
Setting the password file seems totally incorrect. The DBSNMP is not used for any of the special administrative operations as described http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14231/dba.htm#i1006534 and therefore standard database authentication is required, not the extra level provided by the password file.

  • Dbconsole configuration - two network cards

    Hi,
I have two network cards in the Solaris server and
    Oracle 11g2 EE database server.
One network card is used for connection to the application (data network). Connection though standard port 1521.Database configured using server name defined for Net1 card and I can connect to the Oracle database using net1 card from apps server.
Second card is the management card (connected to the management network).
Is it possible to use it for connection to the dbconsole installed in the database ORACLE_HOME?
If yes, how I should configure dbconsole that I can see dbconsole web window through net2 card.
    Thanks,
    Oleg

    Messy setup IMO, but anyway....
Your faulty resolv.conf is the reason you can't ping google. Edit it manually as required, and then use the -R flag in /etc/conf.d/dhcpcd to prevent it being overwritten. DHCP on both interfaces will probably cause routing issues as well, in which case you will need the -G flag.

  • HT4628 My Mac Air OSX10.8.5 won't connect to the internet as it says it has a self assigned IP address and thus cannot connect to the internet. I can only connect to a network by manually typing in the configuration specs. Please help.

My mac air OSX10.8.5 won't connect to the internet. It says it has a 'self assigned IP address and therefore cannot connect to the internet'. Network diagnostics is unable to the solve the problem. It happened suddenly for no reason and now I cannot connect except by typing in the configuration settings manually. Please help me!

Use the Airport Utility or log into your wireless device via http and ensure the DHCP/NAT service is enabled.  If accessing via HTTP, you will need to manually set an ip within your local subnet (eg: 192.168.0.x).
