Configure HP printer in eBS

Hi everybody
I need to configure a printer to use it for eBS R12 on Unix.
The issue is the printer we have HP Laser 3390 ,but we cannot find a driver for IBM AIX.
Does anybody have an idea how I can get the driver for this particular HP printer for AIX ?

smitty -> Print Spooling -> AIX Print Spooling -> Add a Print Queue -> hpJet Direct (Network Printer) ->
Hewlett-Packard -> Other (Select this if your printer type is not listed above) -> Generic generic printer ->
Is it correct so far?
Then,
1- Make this system a BOOTP/TFTP server
2- Do NOT Make this system a BOOTP/TFTP server
Here , I don't know which one to choose.

Configure a Printer for a Smartform

Hi.
I need to configure a printer in order to create an aotumatic order spool instead of print the form. Does anyone know how to do that.
I already ask to the BASIS people and they said they don´t know how to configure it.

You don't need to configure the printer, as the decision to print or not print immediately is done during printing. It will show up in the dialog to choose the printer. Sometimes the dialog doesn't show up, it is decided by the application (hard coded, or via customizing for example).
Internally, the "print immediately" option TDIMMED is defined in the [Spool settings|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/84/1f14b517aa11d5b67b006094192fe3/frameset.htm] of the [Output Options|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/71/9ccd9f8e0e11d4b608006094192fe3/frameset.htm] parameter.
If it's not sufficient, then tell us the steps how you generate the smartform (transactions, etc.), so that we can tell you how the "print immediately" option can be altered.

1. To see whether picking list (EK00) is generated:
VL02n open the delivery -> menu bar -> extrax -> picking output .
Is EK00 there? If not, it means that EK00 is not generated for this delivery.
If EK00 is green -> it means that it has been printed.
If it's yellow -> it means that it hasn't been printed yet. Now you have to goto VL70 to print it.
2. To generate a picking output for one delivery, you have to do:
[1] In customizing of shipping point, (img -> enterprise structure -> defination -> logistics execution ->shipping point), you have to set picking output (TVST-KSCHL).
[2] Item is relevant for picking, and plant/storage location is not assigned to a warehouse.
[3] Set default print parameter in customizing. (IMG -> Logistics Execution -> Shipping -> basic function -> output control ->define print parameter -> V4 -> for you picking output type -> assign default print parameter to shipping point ).

How do I Configure Desktop Printer to scale to fit?

I love the feature of drag and drop printing and I often need to print many pdfs. However when I drag pdfs to the desktop printer icon it prints them on letter sized paper without scaling them to fit. I have configured the printer in the setup utility to print on tabloid but it still prints on letter with no scaling. How can I configure the desktop printer to scale to fit and select paper size? booya

Hi Daniel, and a warm welcome to the forums!
Doesn't your printer have a setting for the default size in it rather than just on the Mac?
What size are these in the first place?
I think the secret is to save the Tabloid size as a Default, but I don't have a Tabloid to test with, so I used Preview, (which you may end up having to use to drop on or Script to, dunno yet).
I made a new Page size of Tabloid...
Then saved as default...
You'll have to test this... not even sure it works to Scale to Size, but at least you could drop them on Preview then +p to see.

AutoVue 2D loses configuration and printer settings after 4 or 5 days, and resets defaults

I purchased a single Oracle AutoVue 2D Professional License. It is loaded locally on a windows 7 workstation with full administrative rights, our network server runs server 2008, all updates are current. We use AutoVue primarily for viewing and printing autocad files, but some other graphic programs and pdf files also.
In configure/general I add the force to black option, in font paths I add the path to our AutoCAD fonts folder, and in colors I change the background to black. In the printer dialogue box, I set page area to "limits", check "force to black" and "skip blank pages". I then modify the pen settings and save them as a named setting. That's it.
It all works very well for 4 or 5 days then everything resets to defaults, even the named pen settings are lost. It's like I have a trial version and it's only functional for a few days unless its activated, but Oracle says there is no license key for this software I tried loading it on a different workstation with the same results.

Im trying to configure my printer 'Canon PIXMA MX3170' -
I followed the following steps mentioned on some site:
"Follow below steps to setup Canon MG3100 printer to wifi using WPS function (by a button push on the wireless router/access point)
Press and hold maintenance button on printer. (button with screw driver and cutting pair symbol)
Now the LED should flash as '_'
Press and hold 'Fit to Page" button, now LED should flash as single dash moving vertically.
Once the LED flash is confirmed, press and hold WPS button on router/access point for about five seconds.
Printer should stop the flashing and LED should be back to normal displaying '1'.
This completes the setup and you are ready to use your printer wireless ".
However,
1.LED on my printer flashes 1-2-3-E instead of a steady 1.
2. Error message during installation : "An error occurred while communicating with the printer"
3. Im using a netgear router - and I don't know what is an access point and how to configure it for the printer.
4. I think I pressed the right button - (WPS button) - button with symbol having a tower emitting waves.
My installation as a result - failed. Need your help.

Configuring IP Printer with Dynamic IP?

I've setup my MacBook to print via my wireless print server (Dlink DPR-1260) by setting it up as an IP printer with the IP address of the print server. Works great! However, the print server is setup for DHCP and the IP address changes. Is there anyway to configure the printer using the server name of the print server? I did this with my PC (XP) and it works no matter what the IP address is.

Welcome and thanks for posting. Did you get this sorted yet? If not can you give us some more details? What hub are you using? What type of phone is it? Do you get any specific error messages? can you give us a screen shot of what you're seeing when you try to connect?

How can I configure a printer which is connected to a Windows PC.
I have a I-Mac with OSX lion ver 10.7.2 installed.
The printer is a Canon IP4200.

The first thing you need to ensure is that the printer is being shared by Windows. Hopefully you know how to do that but if not, reply with the version of Windows you are using.
With the printer shared by Windows you then add the printer on the iMac by opening Print & Scan and clicking the plus button under the Printers list. With the Add Printer browser displayed you can select the Windows icon. A window appears showing three columns. The first column is for the workgroup name. You may already see a names here such as Workgroup or MSHome. Selecting the workgroup the Windows computer is using will then show the computer name. And selecting the computer name will show the shared printer, although you may need to enter your Windows user name and password to see this printer share. Select this printer share name will then let you select the printer driver to be used on the Mac. Note that you will not be able to use Canon's driver for this, as it is not designed to work with a shared printer from Windows. Instead you will need to download and install Gutenprint. This will provide you with another iP4200 printer in the Print Using menu and this version will let you print via the Windows share.
If you don't see the workgroups on your local network or the computer name, or something else does not function as described above then please reply with details of what is not happening.

Configure the printer from the PIA.

Is there any way to configure the printer from the PIA..If so pls mention the relevant steps or pls provide the document.

We do print directly but we do it only for sqr processes. We have a unix queue setup for each printer. When the sqr output is sent to that queue; it directly prints to the printer. The work around I can think of is, when you want something printed in PIA you schedule a process to do the processing or generate the output file and ftp it to a print queue.

We have our EBS 12.0.6 on Sun Solaris SPARC 64 bit. There are few hp printer (hp laserjet p2015dn) configured with our application and they are working fine.
Now we have to add one more printer but ( hp laserjet p2015dn) is not available now.
So please suggest the hp laserjet printer available for Solaris 10 Sparc 64 bit.

Computer correctly configured but Printer is not responding

OK gang this is really getting stupid!!!! Tis happens all the time and I'm getting sick and tired of it!!!
Have HP new computer and B210 printer hooked to wireless connection, running Win 7 with IE9, run test and wireless network test report says "No problems found.
I try and scan a photo/document to computer and it responds with no connection. I run trubleshooting and comes back "Computer apperes to be correctly configured but the divice or Recorce (XXX.XXX.X.XXX) is not responding"
I have run all the tests, done everythin thys say to do but no help.
I called about this a couple months ago and was on the phone for over a hour, turned over the computer control to Hp person she messed with the computer screwed everything up and it worked for a short time and back to the same problem.....
Anyone out there in never never land have any ideas????? If so I will consider the advice and try it if not to complicated....

I see by your post that you are unable to scan over the wireless network from the printer to the computer. I would like to help.
Temporarily turn off any Antivirus software, to see if it is interfering with the communication.
Try to scan again.
I have provided a document with some steps to try if you are still not able to scan.
A 'Connection Error' or 'No Computer Detected' Error Message Displays When Scanning for HP Photosmar...
If you haven't already, download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. In Solution three: Check the Scan to Computer setting also. Solution five: Check for critical updates, patches, and firmware. Follow the full document if those 3 steps don't resolve the issue.
If the issue persists, connect the printer directly to the computer by a USB cable and test the scanning. Just to rule out a network or firewall issue. Were you able to scan?
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any errors-WIA, TWAIN)
Did you have any new hardware changes or Windows or router updates prior to this issue?
Can you scan through the HP Scan software?
If not then most likely it is a firewall or the driver might be corrupted.
Uninstall and reinstall the printer software.
Uninstalling the Printer Software.
HP Photosmart Plus e-All-in-One Printer - B210a Drivers.
Select your operating system, click next and click on the software to download and install.
Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.

How can I configure printer with iPad to print only grey tones? This works fine from my laptop - not air printing from that one though. I can't find anywhere on the iPad how to do printer settings and this also seems not to be available as an option when doing a printout. In fact, no options seem to be available.
