Configuring Apache/OC4J to work with AJP protocol

I understand that with version 2 of the iAS mod_oc4j is incorporated into the
web server and mod_oc4j uses the APJ protocol to have requests to OC4J made on
port 80. It will take some time and planning before we can upgrade to version
2. Has anyone found a way to configure our present versions of iAS 1.0.2 and OC4J to use the
APJ protocol to have OC4J requests made on port 80???

Hi J.A.M
This sort of relates to the issue about 500 Internal Error you answered in the other thread. Turns out the there was something wrong with java because I couldn't Javac compile at all from command prompt on a normal Java file (hence BI couldn't either). Which is why I tried to reinstall it.
After installation, I rebooted the machine few times (which in turn would have rebooted everything else).
Running javac on command prompt works, and so does BI Java Host.
Only OC4J is mucking up. Obviously it's not hooked on properly to the new JDK because it was working somehow with the previous (faulty) JDK.
I tried going into C:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\bin folder (via cmd) and ran "oc4j.cmd -start".
You are right, showed me the error message which I couldn't see earlier. The message was:
"please make sure the JAVA_HOME environment variable is define correctly."
So I configured the JAVA_HOME to point to the new JDK, rebooted the machine. Ran it again.
It still asks me to define JAVA_HOME correctly.

  • How do i configure my airport to work with my other wireless router

    how do i configure my airport to work with my other wireless router? I want to be able to listen to itunes through my speakers wirelessly.

    Please check out the following Apple Support article for details on the many methods to use an AirPort Express for iTunes streaming.

  • Is it possible to configure Time Capsule to work with Time Machine (MBP) and Genie Timeline (PC)

    I have an Apple Time Capsule (2TB) and I need to configure it to work with my MBP and Time Machine and also back up my a PC with Genie Timeline Pro 2013 (or any other suggested PC back up software).
    Setting it up to work with Time Machine is simple enough but the PC access is proving to be difficult.
    http://www.genie9.com/support/KB/KnowledgeArticle.aspx?KBID=198
    I followed the above steps but still can't connect to the network drive.  I have reformatted the TC and will be walking through the steps again.  My concern is that the two different operating systems (Win8 and Mavericks) can't share the same destination drive.
    I have created two user accounts with drive sharing activated.  One in my name for my MBP and the other in the name of my partner for her Dell laptop.
    Should the Time Capsule be partitioned?  Can it even be partitioned?  When I use Drive Utility it can't see the TC.  The only way to connect to it seems to be via Airport Utility.
    On a seperate note the TC Router Mode is set to OFF (Bridge Mode).  I have connected it to the ADSL modem/router (WiFi Off) via the WAN port.  All seems to be well.  Am I loosing any useful functionality by doing this?
    The internet settings are set Connect Using DHCP.  I have no issues but I am not really sure what it means and if I should be using other settings.  The ADSL modem/router seems to have all the PPP0E settings.
    The WiFi on the TC has been set up with a 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz network as well as a Guest Network.  I then plan to introduce 2 Airport Express (MB321LL/A). One will be an access point for AirPlay and the other a wireless extender with AirPlay.
    There is also a Canon WiFi printer that accesses the 2.4Ghz network.  It has an Ethanet port so I am wondering if I should disable the wifi connection and cable it and if so to the TC or the DSL modem/router.

    Lion, 7.6.1 firmware and iCloud offers remote access.
    http://www.apple.com/au/support/icloud/back-to-my-mac/
    To do it without the iCloud service your issue is static public IP address.. if you have one this is simple to the point of trivial. If not it is very hard, as Apple did not put in a standard dynamic DNS service.. (ensuring you were roped into their cloud accounts). Static IP from your ISP is the best solution.. if it is possible go for it.
    Then the actual protocol for access is AFP, so the only device you can do this on is a Mac.
    Do you have the TC as the main router?
    If you want any other kind of access, or to avoid icloud use vpn.. which teamviewer is a kind of.. but buy a real vpn router, and bridge the TC.. you can then vpn into your network with full security and get windows access via smb..

  • Configure macbook air to work with projector

    Do I need to configure my new MacBook Air to work with a digital projector or should it work automatically without any setting up other than connection to the projector?

    If you have a Lightning to whatever input that the projector has more than likely HDMI, VGA, or DVi you should be able to to hook the projector up with no problem. You can find a number of different displayPort outputs in the apple store or other electronic online/stores. Once connected to the projector you can choose to have the the additional desktop displayed or you can enable Airplay Mirroring in the Displays section under System Preferences. You can also close your Air and use a bluetooth mouse and keyboard and completely operate through the projector screen.

  • Configuring airport express to work with a secure router

    i have installed a new router on our network and have added security.  My airport express no longer can recognize the network since I believe it has to pass along a password.
    How do I tell the airport express the network password?
    Airport utility version 5.5.3
    MAC OSX version 10.6.8

    You have to start over and perform a Factory Default Reset on the AirPort Express....then re-configure it using the new settings for your "new" network.
    Power off the AirPort Express
    Wait a few minutes
    Hold in the reset button first, and keep holding it an additional 9-10 seconds while you simultaneously plug the Express back in to power
    Release the reset button after the 9-10 hold period and allow a full minute for the Express to restart to a slow, blinking amber light
    The Express is now back to new, out of box settings so that you can configure it to work with your "new" network.

  • Applet showDocument work with file protocol?

    Hi,
    I have a signed applet (using signtool and Thawte certification) with full permission. Now I want to display a local text file from the browser. So here is the code I am using:
    try
    //test file protocol
    applet.getAppletContext().showDocument(new URL("file:///c:/test.txt"),"_blank");
    //test http protocol
    applet.getAppletContext().showDocument(new URL("http://java.sun.com"),"_blank");
    catch(Exception e)
    e.printStackTrace();
    But noting happens to display the file in IE or Netscape(win2k, IE 6 and netscape 7.1), not even an exception is thrown. The http page does open in a new browser. In IE I can set security/local intranet/sites to make file display work. But it's not a good idea to ask every client machine to change the browser settings to make this work.
    Does anyone know why showDocument does not work for file protocol? Have anyone solve this problem?
    Thanks a lot!

    Try this:
    try
    //test file protocol
    applet.getAppletContext().showDocument(new URL("file:\\\\c:\\test.txt"),"_blank");
    //test http protocol
    applet.getAppletContext().showDocument(new URL("http://java.sun.com"),"_blank");
    catch(Exception e)
    e.printStackTrace();
    It works for me...

  • How to configure airport extreme to work with Actiontec gt701d modem

    I have been trying to set up a new Actiontec modem to work with a new Airport Extreme with no luck. I don't know what the right settings are to get it to work correctly. So far the only way I have been able to get the two to work together is to have the AE connect with ethernet and bridge mode. However with this configuration I can't setup a guest network which I would like to be able to do. I have read some past posts and have tried other configurations but end up either losing internet connection or getting a very slow connection. If anyone has some idea how to get this modem to work with the AE i would really appreciate some advice
    Thank you

    Welcome to the discussion area, Meagan!
    The Actiontec "modem" that you mention is really a gateway...a combination modem/router, so with this device and the AirPort Extreme, you have two routers on the network.
    Whenever you have two routers on a network, the first router must be configured to handle the main routing chores and any other routers must be configured in Bridge Mode to function correctly. So, Bridge Mode is the correct setting for the AirPort Extreme when used with the Actiontec gt701d gateway.
    In order for the AirPort Extreme to provide a Guest Network, it must be configured as the "main" router on a network. This won't be possible unless you can re-configure the Actiontec device to act as a simple modem, not a router. You might want to check with Actiontec support to see whether this might be possible.

  • Configuring NI Labview to work with Telelogics CM Synergy 6.3

    Having successfully set up NI TestStand to work with Telelogics CM Synergy 6.3 by downloading the Integration patch from their website and carrying out the associated work, I want to achieve the same with LabVIEW 6.1. When I select the "Configure SCC Options" the Provider field offers only the "Built-in" option. I need to see something akin to "CM Synergy" in this field. Can anyone asssit?

    Additional articles of interest are:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/B68CCC0FCD1C426486257163005106E5 which speaks of the necessary registry key. (aka why a particuler CM application might not show up in the Configuration Control dialog)
    And:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/3c1eadff9708084a86256e85005636aa which speaks of the patch.  Note that when I viewed the link at the bottom of the article it did not lead to the patch location on Telelogics web site. Rather it led to some support pages.
    The patch can be found at:  synergy drop down, select Product Downloads, Current Integration section, click on SYNERGY/CM 6.4, Windows section, PC Integrations.  I downloaded this and installed the only SCCI integration. That install created the registry key.
    And a document about MSCCI:
    http://download2.telelogic.com/synergy/cm_synergy/6.2/cm_synergy/documentation/scc_api_conform.pdf
    Now the issue is descerning functionality.  Initially, upon setup, I am prompted to select a project which does not seem appropriate. Also note that in the Tools->Source Control->Configure Source Control dialog a specific Source Control Project can be listed.  These seems odd as I would expect the configuration of Source Control and usage such as creating or selecting a particular project would be seperate.
    I perceive my next step to be create a source tree from an existing project in labview.  This is not possible because a Source Control configuration forces one to select a project. Therefor new Source Control project must be created outside of labview.  ie directly in Synergy.  I will give that a go and report back.
    thanks

  • Does Apache Virtual Hosting work with localhost?

    I'm a newbie trying to learn how apache web server works. I've activated apache web server on my Mac PowerBook G4, and tweaked the config file to get PHP, SSI and CGI working.
    If I type the url http://127.0.0.1/ I get the same page as http://localhost/
    If localhost is the domain name for the address 127.0.0.1, can I assign other domain names to 127.0.0.1 using apache's virtual hosting?
    Ti Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    localhost is defined as 127.0.0.1. You can use them interchangeably.
    As for virtual hosts, sure. Apache doesn't care.
    There are two ways of running virtual hosts.
    Port-based virtual hosts use a port number other than the standard 80. They can be accessed via something like http://localhost:8000/
    Name-based virtual hosts look at the hostname header in the request to work out which site to serve. You can run any number of sites on the same port number this way, but you need to be able to control DNS so that it points to your machine.
    If you are just testing this locally you can edit /etc/hosts to add whatever hostnames you like;
    127.0.0.1 localhost my.testsite.com me.mydomain.com
    Now when you enter 'my.testsite.com' or 'my.mydomain.com' in your web browser, /etc/hosts will resolve this to 127.0.0.1 and you'll talk to your local apache server.
    Note that the localhost entries don't have to be in your domain. You can use this to override any real hostname you like.
    Of course, if you want remote users to access this site you'll need to setup something in the DNS, or edit their /etc/hosts files individually.

  • Configuring OC4J to work with new JDK

    Hi all, due to some java related errors, I re-installed JDK.
    I had C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0 and the new one is C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_01
    I did the following:
    1) updated it in server.xml
    2) updated it in instanceconfig.xml.
    3) Add C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0\bin to "path" in environment variables. Javac and java command runs fine in command prompt.
    4) BI Server, BI Java Host, BI Presentation Services runs fine in SERVICES
    But 0C4J is not working. When I try to start it from START, the command prompt just flickers for a split second and disappears.
    When re-installing JDK, is there anything else I need to configure aside from those server.xml and instanceconfig.xml? Looking at the manuals, I can only find instructions on configuring when you are installing BI, not changing/reinstalling JDK when BI is already installed.
    Many thanks.

  • BlazeDS "Configure return type" not working with Hibernate lazy fetching

    I am using the new BlazeDS 4 with Flash Builder 4.
    Backend configuration: Spring 3.0 + Spring-BlazeDS 1.0.3 + Hibernate 3.5
    I have successfully configured my Spring-BlazeDS project based on this excellent video tutorial by James Ward.
    The problem:
    While trying to use the "Configure return type" option for one of my service calls, or the "Test operation" option, I get the following exception thrown:
    InvocationTargetException:There was an error while  invoking the operation. Check your server settings and try invoking the  operation again.
    Reason: Server error failed to lazily initialize a  collection of role:  com.xyz.product.domain.MyEntityClass.myLazyCollection, no  session or session was closed null
    I am well aware of lazy loading issues and configured Gilead to handle this, hopefully with success although I cannot indicate this for sure yet.
    However - in this case, i'm not certain it's even related to Gilead, because this is happening on server side and not on client as far as I understand so Gilead isn't playing its role in removing the proxy associations. BlazeDS however is trying to fully inspect whatever object graph it gets, and appearantly does that outside of a persistence session scope, hence the LazyInitializationException.
    Is this a BlazeDS bug? Can BlazeDS do the objects inspection within a provided open persistence context session to avoid this?
    See also stacktrace from server:

    notice that this doesn't bother me because if i use the glibc from the repositories everything works fine, this is just for curiosity of why it doesn't work
    thanks in advance
    You have stripped glibc too much.  See the Arch PKGBUILD and make sure your makepkg.conf has STRIP_BINARY etc defined.

  • How Do I Configure A WRT54G to Work With A Cisco 2800 Router

    I'm helping my dad set up a new network.  He has a Cisco 2800 series router that connects to the internet via two T1 lines.  From this connection, he supplies internet service to his customers.  The router was installed and configured with help from AT&T who monitors the router and advises my dad if there are problems.
    The Cisco 2800 is not my reason for posting.
    He wants to connect his home computers to the 2800.  He has one desktop and two wireless laptops and wants to use a WRT54G to connect those computers to the 2800 router.  How should he configure the WRT54G to connect to the 2800?
    Thanks!

    That's what I thought.  So it is really no different than connecting the WRT to a DSL modem or cable modem as far as the setup goes. Good then.
    Now, next question;
    Would this network setup be correct?
    Connect a 5-port switch to the 2800
    Connect the WRT54G to the 5-port switch.
    Configure the laptops to connect throught the WRT54G.
    Connect the desktop (Ubuntu 9.10) to the 5-port switch via Ethernet cable (bypass the WRT54G).
    Would there be IP conflicts or domain problems?  I ask this because this is how his LAN is presently setup and he seems to be getting random connectivity problems on his Ubuntu desktop machine.  One day it works fine.  The next day it won't connect.  Sometimes, even after he is connected, it stop works midstream.  It also takes 10 minutes or so to boot up.  The laptops always work without issue.
    The two laptops would be issued IP addresses of 192.168.1.xxx but the desktop would be getting 12.83.xxxx.xx(something similar).  The desktop's internet IP would receive its internet IP from the 2800 via DHCP just like the WRT54G is receiving its IP from the 2800.  The two would essentially be on different LANs connected to the same router.  Do you forsee any issues here?
    Thanks!

  • How do I configure Time Capsule to work with 8 port unmanaged switch?

    This is what I want to end up with.
    cable modem
    Time Capsule
                                                            wireless network           8 port unmanaged switch TRENDnet TEGS80G
                                                                                                  entertainment center(TV, xbox 360, dvd, apple tv, ect...)
    I have been using the above setup with an E3000 router in place of the time capsule without any problems, and was expecting to just be able to switch out the E3000 for the time capsule and keep right on rolling. At the moment, without the switch plugged in, using the time capsule as a stand alone wireless router, everything works as intended. However, I don't want to have every device in the house pulling off of wireless. Whenever I plug my switch in I lose internet connectivity. I assume this is because both the switch and the Time Capsule are trying to direct traffic and creating a conflict. I have attempted to disable the NAT in the Airport Utility and this is what happens.
    Where do I go from here, or am I heading in completely the wrong direction?

    Unfortunately, you are on the wrong track, heading in the wrong direction at the moment.
    We need to learn whether you have a simple modem or a modem/router.
    This will determine whether the Time Capsule is to be configured in router mode to provide DHCP and NAT services for the network......or if your "modem" is already doing this.....the Time Capsule needs to be configured in Bridge Mode.
    So, I suggest that you disconnect the switch from the Time Capsule for now, and power everything off except the modem, Time Capsule and the computer you are using to configure the Time Capsule, and get things working correctly first. Then, devices can be added one at a time to verify proper operation.
    If this seems to make sense to you, and you want to move forward, please post back with the make and model number of your cable modem.
