Configuring - Cisco 2921 with Switch Module/POE PS and 3750-x 24 port switch

This is what I have
- Cisco 2921 router
         with SM-ES2-24-P switch module and
                 POE power supply
-Cisco 3750x- 24 port Switch
I have port G1/0 (which connects to 24p Switch Module port g0/26 logically) configured with 3 sub interfaces (management, User and VOIP)
I want to connect 3750x to G0/1 on 2921 via fiber GBIC but want to use same three VLANs
I can not daisy chain 3750x via the switch module because it does not have fiber port.
I do not want to create another routed (g0/1) interface because I want to keep Users on both switches on the same subnet without further splitting the subnet in two.
I hope I am not making this confusing.
How can I bridge g1/0 and g0/1 so I can pass vlan traffic between two switches?
Second problem i have is ...
I have a VOIP connected to switch module (SM) and it is not getting any power.
I went in to all the interfaces on SM and issued power inline auto command
On the SM (sh power inline) - available is 0.0(w)
on the 2921 (sh power inline)
   - power supply status is good,
   - maximun power available is 280.
   - interface G1/0( which connects to SM)
      *device is unknown
      * powered off
     * allocated 0.0 watts.
I already tried resetting SM
Is there any other command I need to issue?
thanks for your help.

I'm having a similar issue. I can get trunked connectivity between the switch module and the router if I put the IP address on the router sub interface, but not if I put it on a VLAN interface. I was hoping to have it on a VLAN sub interface on the router so I could use Gig0/1 and Gig0/2 to connect other switches and have them on the same VLANs. I'm using Gig1/0 on the router side and Gig0/51 on the switch side (48-port module).
Any help? Am I on the wrong track altogether?

  • Multiple errors with DSC modules modbus master and slave

    Hi,
    I've searched quite a lot of posts but haven't found solution for my problem. I'm playing with LabVIEW DSC module and it's modbus master and slave functionalities. Even the LabVIEWs own modbus examples (Modbus Simulator and Fundamentals) seem to work randomly or not at all: When checking the Variable Manager utility Modbus Simulator (i.e. modbus slave/server) seems to deploy variables correctly with good quality but Modbus Fundamentals (i.e. modbus master/client) most often shows unknown value or bad quality for all the variables. When running the VIs I get 'Error -1950679035 Unable to locate variable in the Shared Variable Engine' and sometimes some other errors too. If the Modbus Simulator (slave/server) is expected to work fine I guess I should get two slaves communicating, but this isn't happening either. So maybe Modbus Simulator example isn't working either.
    I've tried undeploying and deploying the libraries, stopping and starting the SVE, booting PC, reinstalling DSC module, and setting firewall and antivirus software off. This problem is going on with two different computers, both of which have recently installed LabVIEW 2011, first PC with Win XP and second PC with Win 7. No other OPC servers should be installed to these computers. And what is really interesting, the problem seems to have nothing to do with my network since Simulator and Fundamentals examples are not working even if the network cable is unplugged!
    Any suggestions? Replies are highly appreciated!

    V8 has the same feature, but the words are different.
    The Generator typically uses the Driver time base, and the Gl. Var Write is writing once per block.
    So, to see all values, you must have a block size of one.
    I set up the Driver timebase to 10 Hz, block size of 1. The Generator and the Read Variable default to the Driver timebase.
    The Generator is making a 2 Hz Rectangle waveform. YOu can see that it's shifted, but otherwise intact.

  • Netgear CVG 824g and Linksys SLM2024 24 port switch

    Hiya people
    I have just installed a Linksys SLM2024 switch in my house and it - along with my Netgear CVG 824g router - delivers internet access to around 20 devices requiring IP's.
    My problem is: The Netgear router can only assign IP adresses in the 192.168.0.XXX range. which means I cannot access the Linksys SLM2024's online configuration page which is located at 192.168.1.254. Are there any way to force the Linksys switch into having an IP in the 192.168.0.XXX range? I could try and connect only my laptop, the switch and an old router I have in a network and letting the DHCP server in the old router give my switch the correct IP. Though that just seems like a real hassle if there is an easier solution.
    Can you help me?

    Unfortunately that is not possible with this router. I tried to do just that and got an error message with the "You cannot have your own computer on the Guest IP LAN" - and I have no clue why I cannot. I found the answer to my original question on the Yousee forum. There are apparently quite a lot of people who are mad at the Netgear router.

  • Cisco 3925 with ethsw module EoMPLS support

    Hi,
    I am looking for clarification that the ethsw module, NM-16ESW, will not allow for EoMPLS support?
    From what I have read on CCO it seems to suggest that the EHWIC-4/8ESG is needed to support this?
    Basically, I had 15.2(4)M1 on my 3925, but none of the EoMPLS VC's would come up for the vlans that were attached to the ethsw module.  Other EoMPLS VC that used onboard gig ports came up just fine.  All LDP signalling/routing is correct.
    Can anyone provide any confirmation?
    Thanks,
    LR

    Hi,
    The switch (NM-16ESW) inside your router runs an image for the 3560 switches and the 3560 switches don't support MPLS.  They only support vrf Lite.

    Hello. We're having problems with our F5 Big IP HA+ switch and pool of WLS
              4.5.1 servers (two in the pool currently). At seemly random intervals the
              Big IP believes the one or both of the servers are not responding, so they
              are removed from the pool. We have a growing body of anecdotal evidence to
              suggest that the servers are actually on-line and available during the
              event. Either the switch is confused or the WLS servers aren't always
              responding correctly to the HTTP requests sent by the switch for polling.
              We're having problems catching the problem with the right diagnostics.
              Has anyone out there observed similar behavior with these components?
              Thanks.

    Sort of,
              I use iplanet between the 2, so I havent had this problem, but I have had
              several problems with clustering, here is what I recomend doing:
              write a simple java program (or whatever your prefered language) to do a HTTP
              ping on your distinct weblogic servers every X seconds/minutes where X is less
              than Big IPs death tolerance. Time how long/or if ever each of your pings take.
              turn on verbose gc.
              My guess is its one of 3 things:
              1.) your have a big gc going on and your server isnt responding quick enough
              and big ip is marking it dead
              2.) you have thread contention that is causing your server not to respond quick
              enough
              3.) your network has some issues and the packets arent making it there, or not
              quick enough.
              the ping program will prove/disprove #2 and lead you to or away from 3. Verbose
              gc will prove/disprove #1.
              hope this helps

  • HELP!! ClassCastException with custom module classloader hierarchy and redeployment

    Hi,
    I am defining custom module classloader hierarchy to avoid redeploying of the
    entire application mainly because we have so many EJBs and it takes a long time
    to deploy the entire app. I deploy my app using the exploded directory, add a
    new method to an EJB in my dal.jar, redeploy, run my unittest and I get ClassCastException.
    I am using weblogic.Deployer utility to reploy my module using "-targets dal.jar@accsserver"
    argument. I even tried undeploying that module and redeploy again with no luck.
    here is weblogic-application.xml definition of the custom class loader
    <classloader-structure>
    <module-ref>
         <module-uri>floghmi.war</module-uri>
         </module-ref>
    <module-ref>
         <module-uri>cts.jar</module-uri>
         </module-ref>
    <module-ref>
         <module-uri>fdbs.jar</module-uri>
         </module-ref>
    <classloader-structure>
         <module-ref>
              <module-uri>dml.jar</module-uri>
         </module-ref>
    <classloader-structure>
         <module-ref>
         <module-uri>dal.jar</module-uri>
    </module-ref>
    </classloader-structure>
    </classloader-structure>
    </classloader-structure>
    thanks,
    Nasrin

    Rob,
    regarding your question on redeploying the whole app without the classloader
    structure, yes, that works fine. If I change a class and redeploy the whole app,
    things are ok. However, when I speocify the classloader structure, and try to
    redeploy the dal.jar, I get ClassClasException.
    You are right about dml.jar being in a separate classloader. I have changed my
    structure after I posted my question to load dml.jar from the application classloader.
    So Rob, is there a bug in Weblogic 8.1 that causes this exception?
    please let me know, I am anxiously waiting your response.
    thanks,
    Nasrin

    Rob,
    if I remove my classloader structure from weblogic-application.xml,I get an
    error during redeployment, saying "You must include all of<list ofmy module names
    here> in your files list to modify <dal.jar>. Yes, the server enforces constraints on partial redeployments. You must
    deploy all the modules in a given classloader and any modules in child
    classloaders.
    Just to make sure, if you initially deploy your app, or redeploy the
    whole thing, it works fine without the classloader-structure, right?
    The problem I am trying to solve is to minimize our deployment time.Our application
    has over 700 CMP 2.0 entity beans and 200 session beans. Our applicationdeployment
    follows the J2EE layer architecture. The data mapping layer which consistof 700
    entity beans are located in dml.jar. The data access layer which consistof 200
    session beans are located in dal.jar. We create our ear with thesetwo jar files
    plus some other framework jars and deploy on bea weblogic 8.1 SP2 andthat takes
    about an hour. I need to be able to modify a session bean, i.e. changethe implementation
    of a session bean or add a new method to a session bean interface andredeploy
    only data access layer, the dal.jar, not the entity beans. This explainswhy you
    see dml.jar in a classloader with a child classloader that loads dal.jar.
    I included the ClassCastException from weblogic server console below.What is
    happening is that I have a session bean with 6 methods that just doesa println.
    I deploy my session bean, ExerciseSessionBeanFactory, and run my unittest that
    invokes test1 through test6 methods. I modify my bean to add "test7"method and
    redeply dal.jar successfully. I run my unit test that invokes test1through test7
    methods and then I get a ClassCastException.
    I hope this helps. Please let me know if you need more details.If you push dml.jar into a subloader, that means you can change dml.jar
    without touching anything in the parent loader. However, it also means
    that you've isolated it's classes and other modules can't see them.

  • Use RF switch module to switch 125M Hz differential signals

    A customer has 1 pair output signal. The signal is differential, 900mVp-p, 125 MHz.
    He sends to output signal to his DUT with 4 differential channels and uses switch to read the signal back in turn.
    He needs to measure the voltage waveform to get the return Vp-p to determine pass or fail.
    According to his needs and tutorial "Advanced Signal Routing with the NI PXI-2593 and NI SCXI-1193 RF Switches
    ", we have pxi-2593 or scxi-1193, which can be configured as 2xN topology to switch differential signals. In the spec, the insertion loss is 0.9dB when the signal is less then 500 MHz.
    I have some questions:
    1. Does that mean the voltage error is around 10%? (Accoreing to dB=20log(V/Vref)
    2. What else parameter should I pay attention when I want to know the voltage error?
    3. If the customer needs the voltage error less than 5%, do we have any solution?
    Thank you for help.

    Hello Henry,
    You have a couple of options. All of our RF switches are single-ended coax (one signal line surrounded by a ground). To route a differential signal, you'll need to split the pair out to two coax cables and use two banks of multiplexers. Since you only have a 4x1 requirement, you could use one PXI-2593 (dual 8x1) or two PXI-2590 (single 4x1 each) modules. The SCXI counterparts have more banks.
    The characteristic impedance of these switches is 50 Ohms. What is the differential impedance of your input signal? Ideally, this split configuration would work best if the differential impedance was 100 Ohms (each half run downs a 50 Ohm line with no coupling between them). The more impedance mismatch you have, the more reflection and signal loss will occur.
    As for the insertion loss, you are right that the voltage at 125 MHz will be attenuated by as much as 10% (typical is more like 5%), but it is repeatable. If you calibrate the system (including the switch and cables), you should be OK. The insertion loss through the switch, like contact resistance, is stable over the relay life.
    What is the frequency content of this signal? Is it sinusoidal at 125 MHz, or a square wave with faster edges?
    Hope this is useful.

    ISP Managed Router connected to ADSL & looked for me to view or change configuration.... i have successfully configured my own 2921 to work with ISP router with IP NAT, Internet is working for all my LAN Users.
