Configuring Custom JavaScript/CSS and YUI in WSRP Producer Portlet

I am trying to find information on how to setup/configure WebCenter for WSRP Producer Portlets that have YUI and custom javascript/CSS. While we have gotten some of the YUI features and custom javascript/CSS to work, we find that some references are not loading such as custom CSS and images. This appears to be a result of the URL rewrite not occuring for some of these references. It appears that WebLogic Portal supports this capability and can be configured using a dependency file for such needs but I have been unable to find a equivalent for WebCenter.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards.
Carl

When you are providing javascript or css path,provide the absolute path.
like src="http://<server>:<port>/portlet context root/images/some.png".
In that way custom javascript/css will work.

  • WSRP Producer Portlets

    Hi,
    Is it possible to make edk remote porlet
    to a WSRP producer porlet. Informations / references
    in doing this concept are solicited with thanks.
    Vignesh.

    Well thats a good question. As far as plumtree portlets are concerned, EDK portlets using the Portlet Context (IPortletContext) would not be able to run on any other portal.... the Gateway thing remembr !! so ideally the answer is No. Plumtree portlets are not WSRP producers though if yourapplication is deployed on weblogic portal referencing the EDK.JAR and you are just utilising the underlying PRC not the remote portlet APIs you might be able to expose the application in Weblogic as WSRP producer.

  • Wikis are missing all css and images!

    Hello,
    I enabled the wikis today, but when I visit it:
    http://tinyurl.com/34maae
    there are no images or styling.
    How can I fix this?
    Thanks,
    James

    James,
    I fear your post is slightly confusing - clicking on the tinyurl gives a group listing that appears quite normal.
    It's possible that you have achieved this by downloading and installing the images etc. by hand but this really isn't the way to go. (Alternatively you may have solved the problem in which case please ignore the rest of this post)
    The collaboration folder (which contains javascript, css and image files) is normally at
    usr/share/collaboration
    on your start up hard disc
    and if it's NOT there I would worry about your system install.
    If it IS there, a possible source of error is that the location of 'collaboration' is set as an alias in so that web pages can access it simply as 'http://www.website.com/collaboration'
    So, I advise you check that you haven't amended this in some way.
    Assuming that you have your server set up in Advanced Configuration you could do the following. If you have it as a Stardard or Workgroup config I fear I can't help you as I have no experience as to how the set the alias. Someone else should be able to advise. (Alternatively you COULD start editing the Apache files directly but I wouldn't advise it unless you feel happy doing that and any edit may well get overwritten anyway The relevant files are at etc/apache2/sites/)
    Launch Server Admin, select web from the list of services in the left hand column and select the domain name from the list at the top - you may only have one.
    Then select aliases from the horizontal list of radio buttons and see what it says for /collaboration, it should read
    Alias /collaboration /usr/share/collaboration
    Beyond that I don't know what to say.
    Good luck

  • Help w/ JSF vs. JavaScript+CSS+DHTML debate

    Hello,
    I need to quickly obtain some facts to help guide the direction of a new project.
    The entrenchment here seems to lean toward JavaScript, CSS, and DHTML to provide client-side validation and presentation enhancements. Personally, I am more receptive to JSF but I am in unfamiliar territory when it comes to web technologies.
    I need to know how JSF compares with using JavaScript, CSS, and DHTML. Does JSF alleviate the need for these technologies? I have a lot of information on why JSP Model2 is better on the server-side but I am really needing some data on the client-side presentation aspects (validation, sexy widgets, etc).
    Thanks in advance for anything anyone would like to share.

    Thanks erikbuchez. So would it be correct to say that
    the JSF HTML (or is it HTTP) components are
    implemented with JavaScript/CSS/xHTML? In a way, yes. JSF defines a set of Standard User Interface Components, a Standard HTML RenderKit for those components, and a Standard HTML RenderKit Tag Library. The components, RenderKit and tag library are implemented in Java and run on the server, but together they end up generating HTML/CSS/JavaScript interpreted by your Web browser.
    As a follow up, I assume one can override/extend the
    existing components or create new ones as needed by
    extending some appropriate base class?Yes, you can derive from existing components and renderers or create your own (in Java).
    If I'm getting the idea here, you use the expression language in
    your JSPs and make use of the template library to get the nitty
    gritty stream back to the browser?Not sure what you mean here, but if you mean that you write JSP pages using JSF tag libraries and let JSF generate the HTML/CSS/JavaScript back to the client, you are right.

  • Include custom javascript and css in uix page

    Hello
    I got a UIX page based on the pageLayout template and i wanted to include some custom things (css, js) inside the resulting html header like this:
    <document>
    <metaContainer>
    <!-- Set the page title -->
    <head title="mypage"/>
    <html:link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://someotherserver.com/generateStyle?pCSSType=loc"/>
    <html:link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://someotherserver.com/generateStyle?pCSSType=sys"/>
    <script source="customScript.js"><contents><!-- --></contents></script>
    </metaContainer>
    <contents>
    <body>
    Unfortunatly only ONE thing from within "metaContainer" gets included in the final html file. Is there a way to include everything from within "metacontainer"?
    Thanks for your help,
    Philipp Stecher

    I think metacontainer is a named child, and like all named children it can only have one node.
    Does this work?
    <document>
    <metaContainer>
    <!-- Set the page title -->
    <head title="mypage">
    <contents>
    <html:link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://someotherserver.com/generateStyle?pCSSType=loc"/>
    <html:link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://someotherserver.com/generateStyle?pCSSType=sys"/>
    <script source="customScript.js"><contents><!-- --></contents></script>
    </contents>
    </head>
    </metaContainer>

  • Using CSS and Javascript to display a div with flash in it, mozilla reloads the flash file!

    I am using CSS and Javascript to display a div with an

    unexpected functionality, my expectation would be that the flash

    I was wondering if anyone has come across this issue and is
    there something I can do to prevent this from occurring?
    To be more specific, I have a single HTML page with 8 flash
    files embedded in it (yeah I know, it's a bit much). I am then
    using CSS and Javascript to display (via a numbered link (with an
    id)) an equivalent numbered div tag containing the flash file.
    Mozilla Firefox reloads the flash object that is in the div.
    Internet Explorer will not do this and will instead, load the flash

    links (in IE) will NOT reload the flash object on the page. I'm
    guessing this is some kind of difference in the flash player as an
    Active X object and the plugin, or is it just IE being clever? Or
    am I way off?

  • After deleteing Custom CSS and Custom Functions, cannot get FireFox to recognize audio player. Works in IE and Safari. Site is https and using bluehost.

    Using the Genesis Framework on my WordPress site. I can use Safari and IE. However, when I try to use Fire Fox, it will not appear. I deleted all of my Custom CSS and Functions. Still, nothing is working. Contacted bluehost, the representative there was not able to help me out and also emailed CD Baby to see what might work. I am not sure if it is something with my site using HTTPS instead of HTTP of why this is not working? I am told the plugin works on Fire Fox but I cannot for the life of me figure out what's going on. Also changed themes and used Twenty Thirteen among others. Still the same thing. Fire Fox will not work. Tried in Text widget, and pasting on a page, and still not working. IE and Safari it is fine. Do I need to add something else within my site? Thanks ahead of time for any way to solve this situation.

  • How to edit an existing page in SharePoint designer and add custom javascript

    When I edit an existing page in SharePoint Designer to add JavaScript and save, I get a dialog with message
    "Content in the embedded form field may be changed by the server to remove unsafe content. Do you want to reload you page to see the results of the save?"
    When I click OK it reverts my change. How do I add custom JavaScript to the page?

    Try not to push your changes through SharePoint Designer (SPD).
    We had severe problems with SPD saving page layouts in SharePoint, so you may use SPD to edit the page but not save it.
    To save it, check it out from browser, upload and overwrite then publish it.

  • Filting html tags, css, and javascript with regex

    hi everyone,
    im writing a small application where a user types in a url, and the text of the webpage is displayed in a text area.
    ive got it to work, however it takes some time, and also alot of content i dont want is displayed - tags, scripts and sometimes css.
    initally i filtered out the html tags with a regular expression, but i still get alot of unwanted content.
    im not a confident java programmer, and the idea of parsing html, css and javascript is the scariest idea ever to me, so my next idea is to keep only everything between the <body> tags - everything above and below it is deleted - hopefully that should leave me only with the visible content on the site.
    ive messed around with regular expressions but i cant get it to work, can anyone help out?
    thanks alot,
    Torre

    Darryl.Burke wrote:
    I tried out the regexes I posted on the source of a forum page, which is not valid html (contains two each opening and closing body tags). With a bit of trial and error I was able to remove everything upto the first, and not the second, opening tag by using a reluctant qualifier, ^.*?, but couldn't for the life of me achieve removal of only the last closing tag, leaving the other, invalid one intact. How would you do that?Regexes always try to match the first occurrence of whatever they're looking for (the sentinel), and there's no way to change that behavior (but it would be handy if you could). What you have to do instead is make sure the rest of the regex can't match the sentinel. For that you need lookahead, and the simplest way to use it is to scan the rest of the text looking for the sentinel and, if it doesn't find one, go ahead and gobble up the remaining text: "(?is)</body>(?!.*</body).*$" However, if there are many occurrences of the sentinel, you could take a serious performance hit. Here's a much more efficient way: "(?is)</body>(?:[^<]++|<(?!/body>))*+$" After matching the sentinel, this regex gobbles up anything that's not the first character of the sentinel, or the first character as long as it isn't followed by the remaining characters of the sentinel. The advantages of this regex are that it never has to backtrack, and the lookahead is only applied when it's necessary, where the first regex applies it every time.

  • CSS and JavaScript support in OHJ

    Hello,
    We're considering switching to OHJ for our cross-browser/cross-platform docs, but have concerns over the level of CSS and JavaScript support in OHJ.
    Concerning CSS, the online docs mention support for "Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) 1 and most of CSS 2". Is there a resource that specifically lists what isn't supported from CSS 2?
    Concerning JavaScript, is it currently supported? Some of the web references I've seen say that it's not currently supported (http://helponline.oracle.com/ohguide/help/state/content/vtTopicId./navSetId.blafdoc/vtTopicFile.blafdoc%7Cusing_browvers~html/navId.3/).
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
    OHJ uses the ICE Browser, which we license from a company named ICESoft. It generally compares favorably with other Java-based browsers, although it is not as complete as a native browser such as IE or Firefox.
    There is a list of what is and is not supported in CSS:
    http://www.icesoft.com/developer_guides/icebrowser/htmlguide/featuresappendix3.html#86328
    We recently finally resolved the licensing issues that were holding us back from releasing a version of OHJ with JavaScript support. The current versions don't support JavaScript, but our next major release will.
    Depending on your needs, we also have OHW, which is a server based help system, that uses the client's native browser.

  • Having issues with custom master pages and device channels

    I'm working in Sharepoint 2013 and am attempting to create a custom master page that is to be used by mobile devices. I have created an html file and a custom css file that includes snippets from the design manager. The file appears to preview fine in a
    browser from Microsoft Web Expression. I have loaded the html file into sharepoint via design manager, so the master file is there as well. The css files are in the style library for the site collection and I have created a device channel including user agent
    strings for iphones going back to the iPhone 4 and operating systems going back to iOS 6. I have obviously assigned my custom "mobile" master for that device channel and I have turned off mobile browsing. However when I open the site on my phone
    it shows the normal full desktop view and not my custom master. I will include my html code, my css and a screenshot of my device channel below. Please help!

    Hi,
    The issue is likely not your HTML Master Page but your user agent string. Try a user agent string of just "iphone". To test your master page, you could also set the user agent to "MSIE", which should cause this master page to load for
    any version of IE. This will help you debug the master page as well in your normal browser.

  • Making Firefox run as a bare content panel only 60px high using userChrome.css and localstore.rdf

    I'm developing a web application for personal use, which due to extreme space constraints must be contained within a Firefox window measuring exactly 60px high by 331px wide. The window must have all the controls and bordering removed and appear as a totally bare pane whilst retaining the ability to move between tabs using CTRL-TAB.
    So far I've managed to remove all the controls and bordering and retain the CTRL-TAB functionality using the custom userChrome.css style sheet pasted below. I've added a 1px border to the bottom and right for clarity. Making #navigator-toolbox visibility:hidden instead of display:none enables CTRL-TAB to work without the navigator-toolbox being visible. Giving #tab-view-deck -85px top margin aligns the top of the web page with the top of the Firefox window. Setting #browser-border-end, #browser-border-start display:none removes the effective border to the left and right of the browser window. So far so good.
    I then set the following parameters in localstore.rdf in the profile folder.
    <pre><nowiki>
    <RDF:Description RDF:about="chrome://browser/content/browser.xul#main-window"
    height="149"
    width="331"
    screenX="0"
    screenY="0"
    sizemode="normal" /> </nowiki></pre>
    The window appears perfectly at the top left of the screen and works exactly as specified. Unfortunately, when I reduce the height parameter to 60px, the window remains about 100px tall. I guess I'm missing some key important override rules in my userChrome.css or perhaps some other Firefox configuration settings need to be changed. Although it seems like a small difference, reducing the window from 100px to 60px will result in a massive design shift and a huge productivity gain. If you can help, I'd been extremely grateful. Thanks,
    Neil
    I'm using FF 33.0 and Windows 8.1.
    Content of userChrome.css:
    <pre><nowiki>
    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* set default namespace to XUL */
    #main-window {
    -moz-appearance:none !important;
    #titlebar {
    display: none !important;
    #tab-view-deck {
    border-bottom: 1px solid black !important;
    border-right: 1px solid black !important;
    margin: -85px 0px 0px 0px !important;
    padding: none !important;
    #tab-view-deck * {
    border: none !important;
    margin: none !important;
    padding: none !important;
    #navigator-toolbox {
    visibility: hidden !important;
    #browser-border-end, #browser-border-start {
    display: none !important;
    </nowiki></pre>
    ''added the forum code for displaying css code properly''

    For some reason the userChrome.css has not posted correctly. Each instance of 1. should be replaced with # denoting an ID selector.
