Configuring database connection (metadata repository) from jsp

anybody could help me to configuring database connection from portal schema from jsp page.
i dont have idea.
Thanks.

Hi,
You won't be able to access the DB connections used by iAS from the JSP. As these connections are managed by mod_plsql component in iAS.
Thanks,

  • How to configure database connectivity in OC4J App server.

    Hi,
    I am working on Oracle ESB flows. I have the flow inserting rows into database table using database connection that I have defined. I havent set up connection settings in OC4J EM console.
    I dont wonder when JDeveloper is inserting rows into tables, as connection is explicitely defined in JDeveloper.
    Now I login to EM enviroment and click on Home, click on Web Services tab, and when I use this flow as a Web Service end point and feed values through the form that it provided, it also works. But since I havent defined any connection properties in App Server explicitely, I wonder where is it getting connection properties(JNDI name) from.
    I want to configure some settings in Testing Environment and am kind of stuck at this point.
    Thanks,

    Hi.
    When you don't have JNDI configured, OC4J uses the design time connection defined in the Adapter's WSDL. Look for the following description in your Adapter WSDL:
    <!-- Your runtime connection is declared in
    J2EE_HOME/application-deployments/default/DbAdapter/oc4j-ra.xml
    These 'mcf' properties here are from your design time connection and
    save you from having to edit that file and restart the application server
    if your JNDI is missing.
    These 'mcf' properties are safe to remove.
    -->
    Now, for JNDI configuration, you can use the SOA Suite tutorial as a reference:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/core.1013/b28937/setting_up.htm#CIHBHEFC
    There you can find the steps to create a connection pool, data source, etc.

  • How TO use configurable Database connection with ADF BC

    I have developed a simple JSF/ ADF BC web application that connects to a database and read/display data from the db tables. I have successfully deployed the application to Tomcat 5.5.17. However, now i need to change the database the application is connecting to. My question is How can I change the Database connection without having to change the application modules or rebuild the war file ??? In other words, is there a specific file (xml) where the database connection can be changed?

    If you set up the application with a data source (I am not sure if this is possible using another app server, I use OC4J), then you would just change it there. However if you created a database connection in the JDEV and pointed your data model to that, then you will have to change and rebuild.
    You might be able to edit the xml file that contains the setttings, I am not sure my CM guys dont allow this, all of our changes have to go through our code repository.

  • Configure Database Connection to Weblogic 8.1 Connection Pool

    Hi,
    I've got an ADF BC web application which is working find for an embedded JDBC Oracle Database connection. It's Jdeveloper 10.1.2 deployed to Weblogic 8.1.
    Now I'm trying to change the Database connection so it can point to a weblogic connection pool through its JNDI name. The goal is to make .ear file transportable through different weblogic domains and databases, without recompile application.
    I've been trying to configure an "OracleConnectionPoolDataSource" selecting "third party driver" in Database connection wizard, but Jdeveloper throws error: Java Cast Exception, and don't let continue. What else have to do?
    thanks.

    I did that, but WebLogic ignores whatever I configure in Services->JDB->Connection Pools and Data Sources. Even if I remove them the application keeps on running.
    Because the server only reads the connection defined from JDeveloper, which is configured in the connections.xml file placed inside the deployed .ear file.
    I need to change this behaviour, and configure connections.xml pointing to Weblogic Datasource.
    Thanks for your attention.

  • Sharepoint 2013 MP - Configuration Database connection failed

    Hi all!
    I run a WS2012 R2 with SCOM 2012R2. I'm trying to monitor Sharepoint 2013 Farm, with the Sharepoint 2013 MP. The Sharepoint farm and it's SQL server is on another domain, with two-way trust, and the agents are working on the Sharepoint and SQL servers.
    I use SQL aliases for Sharepoint DB's, so I've made an override to the connection string to make it connect to the correct database.
    The override is working fine, I can see that SCOM is trying to connect to the SQL server, but I cannot seem to make SCOM use the correct Run As account on these configuration databases. Most of the Sharepoint MP seems to be working fine, with the farm admin
    account, but I don't know how I can force this override connectionString to use a specific user.
    WS2012R2 with SCOM2012R2 UR3
    Sharepoint 2013 Farm on WS2008R2 OS.
    MS SQL 2012 on WS2008R2.
    It uses the default SCOM monitoring account, instead of the Sharepoint RunAs account.
    Any suggestions?
    How do I make it use the correct Run As account?
    (This guy has the
    same problem)
    Thanks,
    Nikolaj

    I was looking at this issue not too long ago, and looked through the management pack xml, to see if there was a missing secure reference for DB connection monitors. I only glanced through the MP, but it looked to me as if the DB connection
    monitors references the same account as the other sharepoint monitors. (Yes, that full-blown farm admin account). Again I am not sure, but it seems the management pack has trouble using the referenced RunAs account in the connection strings and then, because
    the watcher node is setup default to run off the management server, it falls back to the management server action account.
    You mention, that you have a two-way trust between you management group and SPS SQL servers. You could then bring this to work by granting your management server action account public rights on your configuration and content DB’s. Not
    optimal, but it’s a workaround. For SPS 2013 this should work without changing the connection strings, as you would have to with SPS 2010.
    I know this is not solution you’re are looking for, but it just might be enough for you to get a step further. I don’t know of any solution, so far, to get the DB connections to use the SPS RunAs account.

  • Not Possible Create Database Connection to Essbase From Web Analysis Studio

    Hello
    It is not possible to create a database connection to Essbase cluster from Web Analysis (WA) Studio. The following error message is displayed:
    "Unable to retrieve the list of available databases"
    And the detail:
    [1033] Native: 1003 Error: Create connection failed [For input string:
    [ApsServer=, OlapServer=[HOST];]]
    Foundation Services, Agent, Financial Reporting and Web Analysis are enabled.
    As additional information from EAS can seamlessly connect to Essbase server.
    The EPM version is 11.1.2.2
    Please help. thanks
    regards
    Rodrigo

    Hi ,
    For creating a WebAnalysis database connection, please make sure you do the following :
    1. Verify if you have Essbase client installed on the WebAnalysis server.
    2. Check if the path of adm drivers are mentioned in the system environment variable -> PATH entries.
    3. Try giving the Essbase server name instead of the cluster name when attempting to create a connection.
    4. The error 1003 means it doesnt seem to create a connection with the server and while attempting it fails.
    Make sure you have all the parameters mentioned correctly in the server details.
    To get detailed information on what is causing the problem, make sure you stop the WebAnalysis service and start it from console .

  • Configure database connection after deploy to Tomcat

    I developed a Web Application in JDeveloper. The database connection is defined in data-sources.xml for internal testing. When I deploy my application to Oracel Application Server, I can configure data sources in Oracle application server. My question is: when I deploy my application to Tomcat, I followed Tomcat document to create data source in Tomcat, but where is the java code to change to database connection in the application created in JDeveloper?

    Hi,
    Java EE data sources is a standard. If e.g. you reference jdbc/hrconn in your application (you don't mention what you use) then configuring this as a JNDI name for the data source in Tomcat should be enough to get it working

  • Database Connection to Oracle from Sun Studio

    I am trying to connect to Oracle 9i from the Sun IDE.
    When I test the driver from the databases in the runtime tab, it gives me the following message:
    Internal test driver incomplete. The driver may not support DatabaseMetadata methods.
    The output window shows this:
    Warning: No tables were found. Check your database.
    Warning: No views were found. Check your database.
    Warning: No procedures were found. Check your database.
    If I try to connect, it seems to connect successfully.
    When I expand the jdbc folder it show 3 folders, one for tables, one for views and one for procedures, but they are empty.
    I also set up the classpath to point to the drivers.
    Anyone know the answer?
    Jim

    I was successful and here're some pointers:
    When you configure the new data source for Oracle, configure the server type for Oracle Bundle and define the proper driver class name and add the proper jar file
    Also:
    Check the database URL
    Userid/password
    Typicaly the Driver Class can be: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    And the DB URL: jdbc:oracle:thin:@<host>:1521:<SID>
    (If connecting using thin drivers)
    Good luck ;-)

  • Configuring Database connection at runtime

    Hi,
    I am new to JDBC and urgently needs ur help.
    What I want is to provide the URL (Connection String and DB info) in a config file and read that in the code. Also I should be able to change the DB location and connection string at runtime so that the next time the code executes, it takes the new connection string. I heard something about MBeans, can anyone help me in this.
    Thanks in advance
    Pankaj
    PS: I might use JBoss or Tomcat.

    Thanks for the reply..
    Yes, but how to do it using MBean? Is Mbean the only solution available or there are some better approaches?

  • How to connect oracle database using DSN  from jsp

              out.println("connection getted");
         catch(Exception exception1)
              out.println("error occoured ");
    pls help as soon as possible
    Sorry, for my english

    you are actually using JDBC so the DSN entry does not matter.
    2 things.
    Make sure that your oracle database driver is in your classpath on your tomcat server.
    I.E. copy the file classes12.jar into your common/lib folder of tomcat, or into your WEB-INF/lib folder of your application. and RESTART your server. classes12.jar can be found on the internet or more easily somewhere within your oracle installation. just search for it.
    Make sure your jdbc url is correct. I believe it goes like this.... fill in the blacks
    connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:scott/tiger@MyOracleHost:1521:MyDB");Note how the username are passed in the first string there fore there is no need to pass additional parameters. This method may be depriciated, but if so, just take out the user and pass from the string and continue to pass them as 3 seperate strings.
    connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:MyOracleHost:1521:MyDB","scott","tiger");That should get your connection. if not, post your errors.

    The driver requires a shared library (nothing to do with java itself.)
    The shared library is not in the shared library path. The error suggests that the OS is Windows which means that the PATH (env variable) of the executable must have the directory of the shared library in it.

  • Business Component Browser cant find the Database Connection

    Hi all,
    I created a project with JdevTP3, created a database connection, the entities from the tables and the view objects. I'm trying to test it with Business Component Browser and it always give me the message :

  • Opening multiple reports in Crystal Reports for VS causes database connect limit to be reached.  Seems to be no way to force Crystal Reports to close database connection (other than exiting application)

    I am working on upgrading an application that has been in use for many years.  The application is written in VB6 and I have been tasked with upgrading the current application to Crystal Reports for Visual Studio.  I am using Crystal Reports for VS Version 13.0.12.1494.  The system's database is a Sybase SQL Anywhere 16 database with an ODBC connection using integrated login.  Each of the reports has the database connection set up from within the report.  There is only once database server, so each of the reports are pointing to the same DB.  The database server is currently installed as a "Personal Server" with a limit of 10 connections.
    I have implemented the CR viewer as part of a COM-callable wrapper that exposes a COM interface for VB6 to interact with.  Inside of my viewer component is a Winform that embeds the Crystal's Report viewer.  The COM interface basically maps the basic Crystal apis to methods that the VB6 can call (i.e., Load Report, Set Field Text, Update SQL Query, etc).  This architecture is working as designed and the reports are displaying correctly and responding correctly to changes in queries, etc.
    The issue is that after I open 9 reports, the tenth one will respond with an error indicating that the database connection limit has been reached.  The database connections used by the reports aren't released until after the application is closed.  The application is designed for a secure environment that prohibits the non-administrative user from accessing the systems desktop, so asking the user tor restart the application after 10 reports isn't a viable option.
    I have checked and database connection pooling is turned off for the SQL Anywhere 16 driver.
    I have been digging on this for a few days and have tried adding code in the FormClosed event to close and dispose of the Report Document as follows:
    ReportDocument reportDoc= (ReportDocument) crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource;
    reportDoc.Close();
    reportDoc.Dispose();
    GC.Collect();       // Force garbage collection on disposed items
    I have also tried the following (as well as maybe 20 or so other permutations) trying to fix the issue with no success.
    ReportDocument reportDoc= (ReportDocument) crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource;
    foreach (Table table in reportDoc.Database.Tables)
         table.Dispose();
    crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = null;
    reportDoc.Database.Dispose();
    reportDoc.Close();
    reportDoc.Dispose();
    reportDoc = (ReportDocument)crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource;
    GC.Collect();       // Force garabe collection on disposed items
    Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I have been pulling my hair out on this one!

    Hi Ludek,
    Thanks so much for the quick reply.  Unfortunately I did not have time to work on the reporting project Friday afternoon, but did a quick test this morning with some interesting results.  I'm hoping if I describe what I'm doing, you can show me the error of my ways.  This is really my first major undertaking with Crystal Reports.
    If I simply load the report, then close and dispose, I don't hit the limit of 10 files.  Note that I do not logon manually in my code as the logon parameters are all defined within the reports themselves.  The logon happens when you actually view the report.  Loading the report doesn't seem to actually log in to the DB.
    What I did was create a very simple form with a single button that creates the WinForm class which contains the Crystal Viewer.  It then loads the report, sets the ReportSource property on the CrystalReportsViewer object contained in the WInForm and shows the report. The report does show correctly, until the 10 reports limit is reached.
    The relevant code is shown below. More than I wanted to post, but i want to be as complete and unambiguous as possible.
    This code displays the same behavior as my earlier post (after 10 reports we are unable to create another connection to the DB).
    // Initial Form that simply has a button
      public partial class SlectReport : form
            public SelectReport()
                InitializeComponent();
            private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
                ReportDocument rd = new ReportDocument();
                ReportForm report = new ReportForm();
                try
                    rd.Load(@"Test.rpt");
                    report.ReportSource = rd;
                    report.Show();
             catch (Exception ex)
                  MessageBox.Show(ex.Message);
    // The WinForm containing the Crystal Reports Viewer
        public partial class ReportForm : Form
            public ReportForm()
                InitializeComponent();
            private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
                this.crystalReportViewer1.RefreshReport();
                this.FormClosed += new FormClosedEventHandler(ReportForm_FormClosed);
            void ReportForm_FormClosed(object sender, FormClosedEventArgs e)
                ReportDocument rd;
                rd = (ReportDocument)crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource;
                rd.Close();
                rd.Dispose();
            public object ReportSource
                set { crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = value; }
    Again, any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
