Configuring JDBC connector with my Tomcat server
I realize this may be a dumb question, but I'm having trouble configuring my JDBC connector with my tomcat server. I'm trying to run a simple servlet that will access mysql database. I am almost certain its throwing an exception on the line:
Class.forName("com.mysql.JDBC.Driver");
I have a feeling the tomcat class path isn't finding the connector jar file.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Brian
I am almost certain its throwing an exception on the line:
Class.forName("com.mysql.JDBC.Driver");If it's a ClassNotFound exception or the like, then yes. Post the exception and stack trace if you need confirmation of this.
I have a feeling the tomcat class path
isn't finding the connector jar file.That's what I think too. Did you ensure that the MySQL driver JAR file was in the classpath?
It will need to be in common/lib under Tomcat, or WEB-INF/lib under your application.
For a more portable application you should use JNDI to obtain database connection resources, in which case you would want the JAR to be under common/lib.

Configuring ACF2 connector with OIM 11gR2
Hi Experts,
I am working on configuring ACF2 connector with OIM 11gr2, In an intermediatory step we need to copy VOYAGER_ID.properties file. The comment against this file is written as: Rename VOYAGER_ID with the name "Voyager server's VOYAGER_ID control file property".
Can anybody please tell what does this actually mean?
thanksRename the copied file to match the VOYAGER_ID property. For example, if the target system has VOYAGER_ID = VOYAGE14, then the .properties file should be named VOYAGE14.properties.
The Voyager reconciliation agent sends a unique identifier value, called VOYAGER_ID, each time a reconciliation event occurs. This value must match the name of the .properties file being used by the topsecret-adv-agent-recon.jar file for reconciliation. -
Problems configuring Platform Domain with MS Sql Server
Hi,
We are having problems configuring a Platform Domain with MS Sql Server 2000.
We are using Weblogic version 7.0.0.2. These are the steps we followed
1.We manually created a database called TestDB and created a user account called
"system", pwd ==>> "weblogic" in SQL server and assigned him as the DB owner for
the TestDB created.
2. Changed dbsettings_properties files (Commented pointbase entries and uncommented
SQL Server entries. I gave the connection parameter as connection=jdbc:weblogic:mssqlserver4:localhost:1433
in this file.
3. Modified Config.xml and changed properties for DataSyncPool, WLIPool, CommercePool,WLIPool
and modified the RDBMS realm properties to point to the database.
4. ran the create_db script and it seemed to have run fine looking at the log
file.
5. I then tried to start the BEA Server instance and I get the following error.
I am also attaching the config.xml file for reference.
Appreciate any help/suggestions. Thanks in Advance.

FAST JDBC Connector with documents/attachments
Hi, we are using FAST database connector for crawling/indexing a Oracle database, from the docs we didn't find sample of crawling documents stored in Oracle. We created a Python script to do that but the problem is, only one document can be crawled/indexed
to FAST, and we are using DATA property to store.
I'd like to know is how to crawl documents/attachments in JDBC connector by leveraging document processor and how we map to FAST managed properties?
Thank you.Hi JOSHUA,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to use FAST JDBC connector for crawling/indexing documents/attachments stored in an Oracle database.
You can use the following string to connect to the Oracle database:
jdbc:oracle:thin:@<YourServerHere>:1521:<YourDataBaseNameHere>
Where:
•<YourServerHere> is the Oracle server host name
•<YourDatabaseNameHere> is the name of the source database that you are connecting to
More information, please refer to the link below:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff383302(v=office.14).aspx
Here are some articles for you to take a look at:
http://www.sharepointboco.com/fast-search-for-sharepoint-2010-and-jdbc-connector/

I hope this helps.

JDBC Problem with Netscape Enterprise Server 3.61
I have created a servlet->JDBC(Thin driver for Oracle 7.3) model to communicate the ORacle Database on an UNIX box by using Netscape Enterprise Server 3.61. I got the following problems and if anyone could help me. Many many thanks.
java.lang.IllegalAccessError: JdbcDriver at
WhitePageSearch.doGet(WhitePageSearch.java:75) * at
javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:252) at
javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:330) at
sun.servlet.netscape.NSRunner.run(NSRunner.java:144) at
netscape.server.applet.ServerApplet.handleRequest(ServerApplet.java:69)
at netscape.server.applet.HttpApplet.handleRequest(HttpApplet.java:680)
By the way. This model works fine on the servletrunner on my NT machine and I guess there are some problem on the Nescape Server setting.You need to install the Netscape Proxy plug-in.
You can find the plug-in at the BEA download site along with the instructions.
Once downloaded it took about 5 minutes to update a config file and have everything running.
Good Luck...

Jdbc connector with a external non-sap database of microsoft for PORTAL
hi gurus
I need to reach a database microsoft sql 2000 this DB is in a microsoft Windows 2000 server
and my PORTAL is in another microsoft windows server 2003 how to make the connector in
visual administrator from my portal until these server and how i know what kind of driver need
any idea
atte
SalvatoreHi Salvatore,
We also had implemented the same using SAP NWDS. We can connect to An non-SAP external database by using JDBC drivers. I have mentioned sample code.
First just declare strings which ustore path of the excel u need to acess. Say
String file = "<path>.xls";
Declare this string which is an JDBC-OBDC driver.
String lConnectStr = "jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Excel Driver (*.xls)};DBQ="file";DriverID=22;READONLY=false";
String url="jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://<HOST NAME of DB>;DatabaseName= ";
String driver="com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver";
Now load the class and to get the connection.
Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
response.write("driver loaded");
Connection gConnection = null;
gConnection = DriverManager.getConnection(lConnectStr,"<DOMAIN/UI>","<PWD>");
Statement stmt=gConnection.createStatement(ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE,ResultSet.CONCUR_UPDATABLE);
response.write("...........driver loaded");
Now we can access the database tables at the SQL server and also extract it..
we can also use POI-HSSF model to create excel sheets and modify cell wise.
Hope this is useful for your implementation.

Inbound Email configuration - SAP CRM with MS Exchange Server
Dear Pundits,
We are implementing SAP CRM and one of the requirement is to configure the Inbound email functionality.
As of now, we have successfully configured the outbound mail functionality.
The inbound email functionality to a Single client:
Our MS Exchange Server Domain is ITAstute.com.
Where as, on the CRM system, under SCOT transaction --> Settings --> Default Domain, we have entered the Domain name as
crm-dev.itastute.com
We are planning to receive emails for different email id's like service, complaints, and so on into our SAP system.
How will the exchange server can direct the mails from above external emails from domail itastute.com to onto CRM server domain crm-dev.itastute.com????
Thank you,
NikeeThen you need to define the routing rule in the exchange server.
Exchange server config is outside the SAP scope and you should contact your exchange admin to get it done.
Also they might force you to use the port 25 if you have any policy such in your company.
We used the routing rule from exchange to BIGIP and BIGIP to our SAP server, that way we could use different port.
You could search in google for the steps and i come accross the link given below.
See if its useful.
Link: [exchange rule|http://www.petri.co.il/forums/showthread.php?t=13120]
Additional input related to the rule.
you need to define the virtual host if you have more than one client that need to be configured for inbound routing.
*@crm-dev.itastutecom => * applies to any user in your system and crm-dev.itastutecom should be your virtual host.
janus.itastute.com => is your hostname and define port number for each client that need to configured. -
Problem with JDBC cc with new java server node
Hi experts,
I have the next situation I hope you can help me.
I created an additional java server node in a PI 7.1 system, this because helpful performance.
Bought nodes started ok.
The problem was when I saw in the RW that all the jdbc channels was in status ??? and in the Short Log "not adapter engine assigned".
I did the complete refresh cache en the SXI_CACHE.
I read that I can restart the Adapter Engine, unfortunately I don't have a System Administrator. Would you tell me how to restart the adapter engine?
If anybody have other option, please tell me.
Thanks in advance.Thanks Spantaleoni.
I'm doing a restart of the instance right now.
I complement the error. When I start or stop the cc has the next error.

I have downloaded a driver from MS site which works only with SQL Server 2000. But my server is SQL Server 7, so where can i get that driver for SQL Server 7. Is there any specific site for that? PLease help me out.

Tomcat Server Closes with JFrame Application
When I open my JFrame Application, and decide to close it this application of mine closes together with my tomcat server... I suspect is the "System.exit(0);" in my JFrame application that causes it.
Can anyone tell me what I should do to my JFrame application so when I closes it, it will not close my Tomcat server at the same time.
Thank You : )
Regards,
RainbowEnergiesIt probably is the System.exit(0); You should remove that.
Tomcat is a container which essentially means it's a sort of "main program" that calls your servlets, JSP programs, etc. as "subroutines". When a subroutine calls "exit", the main program will shutdown.
If you need the JFrame to "exit" when it's being run independently of Tomcat, move the System.exit() call to the "public static void main()" method. Tomcat will never call your class's "main" method, since it uses its own. -
Hi
Can anyone help me in configuring JDBC Connector -> Data source for Oracle.
Regards,
Murali.Hi,
Here are the steps,
1. Create a driver (say, refer to it as "ORACLE"), and include the classes12.zip file in it.
2. Create a DataSource ("ORACLEDS") and configure it like this:
a. Add an alias ("ALIAS")
b. Driver Name = ORACLE
c. JDBC Version = 2.0 (with XA support)
d. Object Factory =
e. DataSource Type = XADataSource
f. XADS Classname = oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource
g. In the additional properties pane, add 3 properties:
i. Password = ~PWD to your Oracle server~
ii. User = ~Username to your Oracle server~
iii. URL = jdbc:oracle:thin:@~IP:PORT:ALIAS~
h. SQL Engine = Vendor SQL

Configuring exchange connector in OIM 11gR2
Hi Experts,
I have to configure exchange connector with OIM 11gR2. I went through the connector guide and there they have mentioned about custom powershell script. Please let know from where I can get this script and the use of it. If any one is having sample script then please share it with me.

Also in doc it was mentioned to create a .bat file on OIM server to call this power shell script on connector server. -
Actionable emails with MS Exchange Server
Using Exchange for e-mail, and my understanding is that we must enable IMAP/POP3 email on our Exchange server to get the BPEL actionable e-mails to work. But my Exchange experts strongly advise against us turning on these types of messages, at least on our main Exchange server. It is a global setting, and apparently one which creates numerous security risks.
Attempting to configure actionable emails with MS Exchange Server as the email system. Does this require enablement of IMAP/POP3 on the Exchange Server to get actionable emails to work? Specifically, for the EmailAccount/IncomingServerSettings within the ns_emails.xml file, what configurations are required when the email system is Exchange Server?
I'm looking to confirm or deny this configuration requirement for MS Exchange Server.
Thanks,
