Configuring PHP + Oracle

Hello :-)
I need some help.
I will try to install PHPBB3 forum using Oracle Database.
I installed Oracle Instant Client for Linux
oracle-instantclient11.1-basic-11.1.0.7.0-1.x86_64.rpm
oracle-instantclient11.1-devel-11.1.0.7.0-1.x86_64.rpm
When I will try to install oci8 I have a error: Oracle Instant Client SDK header files not found

Sorry for my silly reply, I overlooked that you did install the devel RPM.
I would check in config.log what tests "configure" performs to verify the existence of the header files and why these tests fail.
Once we know that, maybe we can figure out how to do it right.

  • Configure PHP/Oracle on RHEL5

    Hello,
    I was wondering if anyone has any instructions on configuring a RHEL5 system to use the built-in packages for Apache and PHP to communicate with Oracle 9i?
    Thanks,
    charles

    I built PHP 5.2.3 for EL/RHEL 4. The RPMs are at http://oss.oracle.com/projects/php/
    When I get back from the PHP|Works conference next week, I'll build 5.2.4 for EL 4 & 5 and stage them on that same project page.

  • Library error when configuring PHP with OCI8

    I'm running into a problem running the configure command to include OCI8 in our Linux PHP in order to connect to a remote Oracle database. I've been following the instructions on the page:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/notes/technote_php_instant.html
    We have a CentOS 4.6 server:
    * 2.6.9-67.0.4.ELsmp
    * Apache Apache/2.0.52
    * PHP 4.x
    I've downloaded the latest PHP we can get for 4.x (4.4.8). I can compile and install the default PHP 4.4.8 without issue. However, trying to configure the OCI8 runs into problems:
    I've added the types to the httpd.conf file and installed the rpms:
    oracle-instantclient-basic-11.1.0.1-1.i386.rpm
    oracle-instantclient-devel-11.1.0.1-1.i386.rpm
    I'm unsure if 4.4.8 config.m4 is correct -- but if we try to use the php_oci8c_buildpatch, it fails, so I went with the default config.m4 in PHP 4.4.8.
    I try to configure with the command:
    ./configure with-oci8-instant-client prefix=/usr/local/bin/php with-apxs2 enable-sigchild --with-config-file-path=/etc/httpd/conf
    ...and get the error it can't find the libraries:

    Can anyone shed some light on what I'm missing? I've searched, poked, and prodded -- but am unable to find a solution.
    Thanks!
    Keith

    The problem is in PHP. If you open configure script you will see that PHP 4.4.8 does not know instantclient 11g. He just know 10g.
    So you have three options:
    1. use 10g instant client
    2. use PHP5 instead of PHP4 (as PHP4 are deprecated, so no new versions in the future)
    "Support for PHP 4 has been discontinued since 2007-12-31. Please consider upgrading to PHP 5.2. The release below is the last PHP 4 release."
    3. You can rewrite configure script :-) which is possible but according to option 2 this option is silly.

  • JBO-33001: Configuration file /oracle/apps/crmCommon/activities/activityManagementService/applicationModule/common/bc4j.xcfg is not found in the classpath.

    I am trying to consume a base model which is available in the Customer.jws (AppCmmnCompActivitiesPublicModelActivityManagement) to my Mobile UI project available in Sales.jws (SalesMobilePublicUi). We have added proper Databindings.cpx entry for accessing the applicationModule present in the model.
    On deploying the sales mobile app, I get the following ConfigException:
    JBO-33001: Configuration file /oracle/apps/crmCommon/activities/activityManagementService/applicationModule/common/bc4j.xcfg is not found in the classpath.
    The bc4j.xcfg mentioned in the above path actually contains the entry. On checking about this issue, I found out that the prominent solution would be model project should be added as Dependencies to the UI project. But the UI is in different workspace (Sales.jws) and so the list of dependencies shown are those of this workspace only, whereas the model is present in Customer.jws and it does not come under the dependencies list.
    How can this issue be resolved? Please let me know any pointers on solving this issue.

    Build an adfLibrary from the model in the Customers.jws and add this adfLibrary to the other ui project. This will get you the dependency.

    Based on your error a few questions come to mind...
    What does your Configuration XML file look like? It's root XML node should be xdb_app_map. Your error makes me think you may be pointing at an adapter file versus db schema mapping file.
    Are you starting from one of the provided examples like OraApp1.xml? If you followed Step 3: the connector file copy instructions during deployment, you should find the samples in "OIM_home/xellerate/XLIntegrations/DBAppTables/xml/DB_Schema" Or you can search for OraApp1.xml or OraApp2.xml.
    Have you configured your IT Resource with the appropriate path to the XML file? If you are on Unix it's going to be case sensitive, I can't speak for a windows path.
    I hope this helps. I know I had a few challenges myself when I first took a swing at the DB Table Adapter from the 9.0.4.1 connector pack.
    regards,
    Jason

    $mycursor = ora_open ($conn);
    - echo "RESULT: ora_getcolumn ($mycursor, 0), ora_getcolumn ($mycursor, 1) <br>";
    The above is not the way it works in PHP and you won't get the expected results. You can throw variables in between your double-quote delimited strings, but not function calls. You'll have to concatenate the function calls like this:
    echo "RESULT: ".ora_getcolumn ($mycursor, 0).", ".ora_getcolumn ($mycursor, 1)."<br>";

    Leendert:
    Thanks for the comments. The first one is an obvious typo. The second
    is a pretty obvious mistake which I missed while reviewing this. Although
    PHP will expand variables in a string like that, it will not handle
    function calls. How could it. I just tried it, and concatenation works
    just as you suggest. Thanks for the corrections, and we updated the
    article.

    Hello All,
    I have a webserver that has php4,apache1.3 and oci8 instant client installed, and have a seperate oracle 10g db server, the php-oracle connectivity is fine when i run php code from db server but it gives me connectivity error when it runs from web server, error " ocifreestatement(): supplied argument is not a valid OCI8-Statement resource in /apache/htdocs/.....php on line..." while even when i made telnet to my db server 1521 port from web server it shows that listener is working, any idea ? thanks

    Hello,
    My developers have changed all the API´s to OCI8 and the code is able to connect with oracle 10g with php4 but, i am still getting this warning .i.e

    i am unable to figure it out, every thing is working fine but still i am getting it ?

  • Help me for Configuration on Oracle AS 10g and WebSphere MQ

    If there someone can share there experience on configuration on Oracle AS 10g and WebSphere MQ. Is there some quite easy ways or tools to do this?
    Welcome any advise!

    Hi,
    The only thing I know of is the documentation to configure the resource provider and I think there is an example on Technet:
    "Declaring an IBM WebSphere MQ Resource Provider Reference"
    [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32110_01/web.1013/b28958/jms.htm#i1086751|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32110_01/web.1013/b28958/jms.htm#i1086751]
    and
    [http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/1013/how_to/index.html|http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/1013/how_to/index.html]
    I think the important thing is to note step 3 of the documentation,
    Add to J2EE_HOME/applib any JAR files required by a Websphere MQ JMS client
    as described in the IBM documentation.
    I assume this comes from an MQ library that should be installed in OC4J.
    If you use applib you must restart OC4J before it will be seen also.
    I hope this can guide you in the right path.
    Sincerely,
    Steff
