btw: The EGO_ITEM_PUB-PROCESS_ITEM call for an existing item still works (I can modify the description), but creating a new item does not work anymore. Here are the parameters I send to the web service:

Dear Techies,
We have registered an Extra Information Type as self service OAF page and did some validations using user hook which are working fine. But for some requests EIT creation page is throwing below errors.
1. Encountered an error while getting the ORACLE user account for your concurrent request. Contact your system administrator.
2. An unexpected situation occurred while executing routine FND_DATA_SECURITY.GET_SECURITY_PREDICATE_HELPER.The cause was: The parameter 'p_object_name' cannot be 'GLOBAL'.
System throws these errors whenever user hook suppose to throw our customized validation messages.Since we are at UAT instance, we are bouncing apache and oacore to get rid of these errors every time they appear. But we cannot bounce once it is moved to production.
Kindly share some ideas to fix these errors as we are very close to Go-Live and we are facing this issue with all EIT's and SIT's.
Thanks and Regards
Dileep Kumar.Hi Mahesh,
Thanks for reply.
I have gone through the link that you have suggested. But our EIT user hook validations doesn't have any code related to submission of concurrent programs. More over our error is not stable. If we bounce the apache and oacore, the system will work fine without unexpected errors for some time. We are not even able to replicate these errors.
Thanks and Regards

Error while doing the Oracle 9i Database Installation
PROBLEM ONE
While installing the Oracle Database 9i on Windows 2000 Server with 256 MB Ram, I got the following error
Windows - Wrong Volume
The wrong volume is in the drive. Please insert volume ORCL9011_1 into drive E:.
This message occured when percentage done was 100%. It was copying visualsdo.exe
PROBLEM TWO
Then I deinstalled the Oracle 9i software and deleted the oracle folder from both the Windows Explorer as well as in the RegEdit.
Again I started doing the installation...
In Oracle Database Configuration Assistant, while it was installing "Adding Oracle JVM", I got the following error
"Oracle Database Configuration Assistant: ERROR"
"ORA-06576:not a valid function or procedure name"
When I clicked Ignore I got the following error
"Oracle Database Configuration Assistant: ERROR"
"ORA-04021:timeout occured while waiting to lock object
SYS.META-INF/MANIFEST.MF"
Please let me know why this problem occured and what is the solution for this......
If you need any information then please let me know
With Regards
DeepakYou have too few RAM on your machine, even you could successfully create an instance, it's going to slow as hell.
When you run DBCA to create database, instead of actually creating the database you could choose to dump the SQL scripts and files used for database creation to a directory. This way will give you a chance to modify pfile and reduce the SGA parameter. I believe the default SGA of instance created by DBCA is already beyond your RAM limit. -

KanchanHi Kanchan,
So on each computer, you create a local user account that is a member of the Administrators group, and use the same account and password on each machine(controller and Agent), am I right?
Could you enable the detailed log message?

Windows 8.1 Hyper-V - Error while configuring the hard disk 0xC03A0014
Hello. I have just enabled Hyper-V on my Windows 8.1 laptop.
Dell Latitude E7440 i7-4600U @ 2.10GHz
I can create a Virtual-Switch but I am unable to create a new Hard Disk or Virtual Machine within Hyper-V. I get the same error for both processes.
Error: The Virtual Machine Management Service encountered an error while configuring the hard disk on virtual machine New Virtual Machine.
Failed to create the virtual hard disk.
The system failed to create C:\Users\user\Documents\Test\New.vhdx .
Failed to create the virtual hard disk
The system failed to create C:\Users\user\Documents\Test\New.vhdx . A Virtual disk support provider for the specified file was not found. (0xC03A0014).
I have ran all Dell Client System updates and all of windows updates.
I have attempted to create a virtual machine on the current SSD and also an external drive. The same error appears.
I have also attempted to create a virtual hard disk via Hyper-v with a Base vhdx, still the same error occurs. I've tested the base image on other laptops of the same model and windows 8.1 without issue.
Any thoughts on how I can fix this?
Thank you,
-JakeHi Jake,
"Enable Data Execution Protection (DEP) in the BIOS and make sure the Format of drive file system is not fat32.
1. Uninstall Intel Active System Monitor 3.0, if installed.
2. Disable "Intel IPMI Service" and "Intel Monitoring Agent" Service.
3. Open regedit and locate: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\imbdrv.
4. Change the Start Key to 4 (Disabled).
5. Locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E97D-E325-11CE-BFC1-0 8002BE10318}.
6. Take ownership of the ‘Properties’ key.
7. Give yourself full permission for this key.
8. Now locate the properties key; if you see a ‘Security’ entry there, that is your problem. Delete this key.
9. Try attaching or adding the VHD again after rebooting.
If above steps did not help, add the Network Service account to Local Administrator group."

operate C# to modify PPT's hyperlink, while configuring the hyperlink's text to display attribute, the address value will be assigned as null. Anyone know this issue? Any solution?
How to reproduce the issue:
1.Create a new PPT slide in Office2010.
2. Insert a certain text/characters, such as Mircosoft blablabla,
3. Insert an URL right after the text part , TextToDisplay is the “Test”,Address is the "Url".
4. The content in the ppt is ”Microsoft Test“,here "Test" is the hyperlink which we would like to convert. Please execute the code we list below.
5. The problem will be reproduced by the above steps.
PPT.Application ap = new PPT.Application();
PPT.Presentation pre = null;
pre = ap.Presentations.Open(mFileName, Microsoft.Office.Core.MsoTriState.msoFalse, Microsoft.Office.Core.MsoTriState.msoFalse, Microsoft.Office.Core.MsoTriState.msoFalse);
foreach (PPT.Slide mSlide in pre.Slides)
PPT.Hyperlinks links = mSlide.Hyperlinks;
for (int i = 1; i <= links.Count; i++)
PPT.Hyperlink mLink = links[i];
mLink.TextToDisplay = mLink.TextToDisplay.Replace(mLink.TextToDisplay,"url");
mLink.Address = mLink.Address.Replace(mLink.Address, "url");
Modify texttodisplay, the address vaule will be assigned as null. Anyone knows how to solve it?
Does it caused by a PPT API's Limitation?I've tried the below code and it works, you can refer this article:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ff745021.aspx
to find that the hyperlink needs to be associated with a text range, and thats what I did in the code below with the help of the link sent by Tony.
Microsoft.Office.Interop.PowerPoint.Application ap = new Application();
Microsoft.Office.Interop.PowerPoint.Presentation pre = null;
pre = ap.Presentations.Open(@"C:\Users\Fouad\Desktop\abcc.pptx", Microsoft.Office.Core.MsoTriState.msoFalse, Microsoft.Office.Core.MsoTriState.msoFalse, Microsoft.Office.Core.MsoTriState.msoFalse);
foreach (Microsoft.Office.Interop.PowerPoint.Slide mSlide in pre.Slides)
Microsoft.Office.Interop.PowerPoint.Hyperlinks links = mSlide.Hyperlinks;
Microsoft.Office.Interop.PowerPoint.Shape textShape = mSlide.Shapes[1];
for (int i = 1; i <= links.Count; i++)

Which are the ip are accessing the oracle user in oracle database
Hi,
How to check which are the ip are accessing the oracle user in oracle databaseIvan Kartik wrote:
There is error in first query it should be user machine instead of terminal in utl_inaddr.get_host_address(terminal) IP_ADDRESS.
Anyway both queries might produce an error if OS system is not configured to resolve the short names (in case FQDN is not used)."user machine"... Can you please elaborate more. The above both queries are running fine at my end using 11.2.0.1 and windows xp.

An unexpected error occurred while configuring the Network Bridge
Windows XP Pro SP2, a new TP61 6460 6WG, all Win updates, all Lenovo updates.
Everything works fine except... when I'm trying to create a network bridge I always get the following: An unexpected error occurred while configuring the Network Bridge.
This is not the situation described in Microsoft's Knowledge Base KB309640 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309640/en-us). I have no ICS, no ICF.
Any ideas?I had the same problem and was really frustrated. I was about to pull my hairs out but then i was finally able to solve it. The solution is deleting some files of WMI repository. The complete details can be found on my blog http://cheatppc.blogspot.com/2008/07/unexpected-error-has-occured-while.html
Hope this solves the problem. -
I'm trying to increate the ulimits for max user processes and open files for the oracle user. I've set the values in limits.conf, /etc/profile and in oracle's environment scripts. Now when I log in as oracle I get the below errors. If I change the ulimits back to the original values errors go away but ulimits aren't changed.
login as: oracle

[oracle@servername ~]$Thanks for the update.
I modified the /etc/security/limits.d/90-nproc.conf and added a line for oracle and also modifed the oracle.sh file. The ulimits are setting correctly when I su - oracle but they are still wrong when sshing in as oracle.
