Configuring the Subview drop down in UWL

Hi All,
I have a requirement to configure certain task types in the Subview dropdown of the UWL. Do you have any Idea how we can achieve the same? I have searched over the web but really could not find any specific documentation to do the same.
Also is there a control to Show or Hide the Subview dropdown? Because in our portal I believe something is changing so frequently that sometime I do see the subview dropdown and sometimes I dont.
Any input is higly appreciated.

UWL NW7.0 SP13 subview drop down list

We're trying to get the new web dynpro uwl to work like our uwl worked before it was changed to web dynpro. Currently there are some drop down lists at the top of the uwl that we want to hide. Specifically the subview drop down list, as selecting "No Subview" causes a bunch of tasks to show up in the portal that we don't want to show up.

Hi Chris,
create a new xml file for the UWL. Take a look in the "uwl.standard" config file to see the current style.(System Admin/ Sxystem Config / UWL folder in the Detailed Navigation)
Select the first link under Content-Configuration.
Everything inside the "NavigationNode tag with attribute name="Main" creates the Tabs, and the more inner the views and it subviews.
Copy the root tag and remove the unwanted sub views. Upload it again...
You can also specify what tasks to show in the views...

DSN's Missing in the ODBC drop down list box

Being new to JDeveloper, I have been running through the
tutorials. I have installed Oracle lite on NT4 SP3 and have
tested out the sample data base 'Polite' using the installed
odbc driver through MS query ...all works fine, however in
tutorial 3 while trying to add the Data Form using Oracle Lite
driver, no dsn's appear on the next screen of the wizard when I
click on the 'ODBC drop down list box'. How do I get Jdeveloper
to bring up the DSN's. I have also tried the 'Sun JDBC-ODBC
driver' route, yet still there is not a single DSN in the drop
down list box.

No Ethernet Adapter (en2) option in the network drop down)

Hi I am installing a Harmony 900 and need to setup a ethernet adapter (en2) in the system config-->network, however, that is not one of my options.
Any suggestions on what I need to do to get that showing in the drop down?

From the Harmony support site - here are the directions provided
To manually configure the Logitech Harmony USB drivers, follow the steps below:
Connect the Harmony remote to the computer via the USB cable and click OK
Double-click the System Preferences icon in the dock
Double-click on Network
Click the + button near the bottom left corner of the window as shown below
In the Interface drop-down, select Ethernet Adapter (en2)
In the Service Name text field type in the model number of your Harmony remote. In this example we typed Harmony 1000 as shown below.
Click on Create
In the Configure IPv4 drop-menu, select Manually.
Type the following as shown above:
IP address field: 192.168.142.1
Type the following in the Subnet Mask field: 255.255.255.0
Type the following in the Router field: 192.168.142.253
Then click Apply

Symptom
On Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2012 R2, when you use the Search for Group Policy Objects feature in GPMC, the “Value” field is not populated when you choose “User Configuration” as the Search Item. (See Figure 1.)

Cause
The happens because the Data of the (Default) value of the following Registry Key is not correct.

By default the Data is (value not set). (see Figure 2)

Resolution
The registry keys under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\GPExtensions] are the Group Policy Preference Client Side Extensions. The CSE name of the GUID {4D2F9B6F-1E52-4711-A382-6A8B1A003DE6} is
RemoteApp and Desktop Connections. Please follow the steps below to resolve the issue.
1. Locate the registry key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\GPExtensions\{4D2F9B6F-1E52-4711-A382-6A8B1A003DE6}]
2. Take the ownership of this key: Right click on the registry key and choose Permissions option and click the Advanced button on the dialogue window. Then on the Advanced Security Settings dialogue window, click Change button to take the ownership
of the key for the current logon account and make the current logon account Full Control permission with the registry key. (See Figure 3.)

3. Change the data of (Default) value from "(value not set)" to
"RemoteApp and Desktop Connection Component". (See Figure 4)

4. Once the steps above are completed, the Value drop down list will be populated again when you perform Search in GPMC. (See Figure 5)

I'm fairly new to this, but I think it has to do with the way you have the drop downs named. Did you copy one then keep pasting it in each field? If so, that is the problem. You should rename each one with a different number: Dropdown1, Dropdown2, etc. I think that might solve the issue.

Well I figured it out, right click the arrow that makes the screen bigger and unclick the Hide Toolbar. I knew it couldn't be that hard.

I have a pornographic search title in the banner at he op of the page just below the bookmarks shortcuts icons. It appears when that part of the screen drops down a bit when the on screen keyboard opens up. Its a spam like link that won't go away.

You saved it on the bookmark bar. Hit bookmarks, bookmark bar, edit, then hit the minus to delete it.

Try Mail>Preferences>Accounts icon>Account Information tab>Click on the Outgoing SMTP server drop down, choose edit Server list, highlight the old one & click Remove.
(Such convolution is worthy of Windows® in my estimation)

How do I get back the functionality for the alphabetical drop down from my previous searches in the center Google search box of the Mozilla Firefox Start Page?

In the afternoon of August 24 I lost a feature on my Mozilla Firefox Start Page and I cannot figure out how to get it back. It concerns the Google Search area in the MIDDLE of the page. Previously, when I would want to do a search, for example Amazon, I would type the letter 'A' and, because I had typed 'Amazon' in that Search box before, an alphabetical drop-down menu would come up with 'Amazon' in it. I could then click on that word without having to type the rest of it. That option is no longer working.
I had done an Adobe Reader update that Friday morning, so I thought that might be why this happened,. I did a System Restore and took the system back to Tuesday, August 21. That did not help.
I ran CCleaner and cleaned the Registry also. Interestingly enough, I found that right after I do that and then open a Mozilla Firefox Start Page, the alphabetical drop down function is back in the center Search bar for one time, one search. After that it is gone again. I go in and do just CCleaner (no Registry cleaning required) and the same thing happens...the functionality is there for one search only.
I went in and made sure all my Add-ons/Plug-ins are up to date. I also ran a full system scan but no issues came up.
I am computer illiterate, so please bear with me. I have no idea if any of the things I tried would have helped or not.
I have Windows 7 and Firefox 15.0.1

The "Use custom settings for history" setting allows to see the current history and cookie settings, but selecting that setting doesn't make any changes to history and cookie settings. 
Firefox shows the "Use custom settings for history" setting as an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes were made. 
If all History settings are default then the custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History".

'Unspecified' value in the Prompt drop down

Hi All,
I am facing a very unusual issue in my report.
The 'Unspecified' value keeps showing up in the Prompt drop down even if doesn't really exist in the Database.
This 'Unspecified' value refers to the NULL value.
I have tried using a filter on that field with filter "is Not Null', but this does not seem to work either.
I am stuck.
Does any one have a solution to this?

Try this simple thing:
for your prompt field in the design, select sql results under show option and write a query that SELECT field name FROM ... WHERE field name NOT NULL.
That's it, no need of filter in the report.

Wrapping text in the navigation drop down menu

Help! Is there a way to wrap text in the navigation drop down menu. Some of the text is too long and sits outside of the drop down box. Is there code that I can insert in the below example or would this need to be specified in the css stylesheet that is attached? If this needs to go in the css stylesheet, then what would the code be for that?

Is there a way to actually wrap the text and keep the box it sits in the same size?
Height is determined by content & end-user's default text size.
Look at the Adobe Forum top menu bar. Mouse over Store > sub-menus. When text wraps to more than one line, the sub-menu adjusts to content. If you increase text size in browser it's more obvious.

Or you can import the image into iPhoto:

Is their a way to restore "empty cashe" in the Safari drop down box? My Mac just had the hard drive replaced and I noticed that the "empty cashe" feature is missing.

Safari>Preferences>Advanced. Check Show develop menu in the menu bar. Empty the cache from there.
