Configuring Weblogic Server for X.509 Smart Card Authentication

I am running Oracle Weblogic 11g (10.3.6) and attempting to configure two-way SSL (client certificate requested and enforced). The client certificate is on a smart card.
I have enabled "basic" ssl in the weblogic server, and used keytool to import the relevant root CA certificates into the DemoTruststore.jks file. I have set the Two-way client cert behavior to Client Certs Requested and Enforced for the server.
Unfortunately, attempting to access my application causes the following:
<pre>
<Certificate chain received from 127.0.0.1 - 127.0.0.1 was incomplete.>
<NO_CERTIFICATE alert was received from 127.0.0.1 - 127.0.0.1. Verify the SSL configuration has a proper SSL certificate chain and private key specified.>
<Certificate chain received from 127.0.0.1 - 127.0.0.1 was incomplete.>
</pre>
The ActivClient dialog never appears to select a certificate from the Smart Card, and a pin is never requested. Therefore, I think I misconfigured something.
Help would be greatly appreciated.
Jason

Hello Mukunthan Damodharan,
this means that the SSL Server Certificate has not his fully quallified name in the subject alternative name extension of the X.509 certificate.
You can create a valid one or disbale that check in the Secure Login Client.
How does the configuration gets to the clients?
With the Policy Download you can disable that check over the Secure Login Server Administration console in the corresponding authentication profile.
If manually you can change the following registry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\SAP\SecureLogin\profiles\<profile name>
"sslHostAlternativeNameCheck"=dword:00000000
the value 0 disable that check on the client.
best regards
Alexander Gimbel

These are errors/warning because of incorrect connection pool settings.Either the database parameters were not configured correctly or there were some issues with the configuration itself.
Your server did start up correctly though.

  • How to configure Firefox to use cert from smart card reader on Sun Ray 3 Plus

I have a Sun Ray 3 Plus configured so the user needs a smart card to login (CAC card) and bring up a Java Desktop on the Sun Ray Server (Solaris 10 SPARC).
Now I am trying to get Firefox to read the certificate from the smart card reader but not sure how to go about doing that.
From searching online, it seems like I have to load a module in Firefox:
Edit -> Preferences -> Certificates -> Security Devices
But what file do I load? I'm assuming it is a file that's part of the SUNWut package?

I try to test bumblebee with:

  • Setting up weblogic server. for multiple developers.

    Hi All,
i am trying to setup/configure weblogic server. we have a situation, we

developers can access off the developement server, and all the EJB
developers will work independently on other server and update the
development server once every evening. how can we achive this, the only way
i could think was to map the drive on to all the developers.
i wanted to know what other approaches are feasible and what is the

any suggestions or any of your experiences please let me know.
    Thank you,

This is a typical problem for a revision control system, but anyway:
You could set up a multihomed environment where you have seperate
application dirs for the applications running on the servers.

  • Weblogic server for Windows 7 64 bit operating system

    Hi,
I have installed Personal Oracle 11g on my laptop. Next, I would like to install the weblogic server and then the Fusion middle ware. My goal is to have Oracle Forms, reports and discoverer running on the laptop. I dont see Weblogic server 64 bit for windows in the oracle product matrix. Can anyone suggest where I can get weblogic server for Winfows 7 64 bit machine?
    Thanks,
    RV

    Hi,
Oracle WebLogic Server Downloads can be found at http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/wls_main.html
I believe Oracle WebLogic Server is not certified yet on Windows 7 64-bit, and this explains why you cannot find installation files to download. More details about the product certification can be found at:
    Oracle Certification Matrix

  • Smart card authentication for IOS device

I am just wondering if anyone was able to successfully implement smart card authentication for vty and console session.  if anyone did, can you please point me to the documentation and the implementation guide?  thanks

Actually, with the rsa key pair setup in ISO 15+, you can use a smart card to authenticate to cisco switches.  I'm still working out all the details but you would need SecureCRT or Putty-CAC.  SecureCRT allows you to export the public key from a pki cert and then import that into the switch/router.  The disadvantage is you can only use the first cert in the list.  Putty-CAC allows you to select which PKI cert you want to use but I haven't verified you can export the public key from a cert.  If you contact me, I'll email you the info need to use use SecureCRT.

  • ISE 802.1x EAP-TLS machine and smart card authentication

I suspect I know the answer to this, but thought that I would throw it out there anway...
With Cisco ISE 1.2 is it possible to enable 802.1x machine AND user smart card  authentication simultaneously for wired/wireless clients (specifically  Windows 7/8, but Linux or OSX would also be good).  I can find plenty of  information regarding 802.1x machine authentication (EAP-TLS) and user  password authentication (PEAP), but none about dual EAP-TLS  authentication using certificates for machines and users at the same time.  I think I can figure out how to configure such a policy in ISE, but options seem to be lacking on the client end.  For example, the Windows 7 supplicant seems only able to present either a machine or user smart card certificate, not one then the other.  Plus, I am not sure how the client would know which certificate to present, or if the type can be specified from the authenticator.

Hope this video link will help you

  • Outlook 2010 "The server is unavailable" using smart card Exchange 2010

I have a XenApp 6.5 environment, that uses smart card authenication for login. All the office applications will open except for outlook. Outlook opens up and shows a prompt saying "Connecting" ...."Then server is unavailable".
If I removed the smart card authenication from the XenApp environment, User are able to open Outlook with no problem.
My question, is there something with exchange 2010 that needs to be turned on for smart card authenication?

    Hi,
I suggest you remove any existing certificate-based credentials from the Credential Manager and use the
EnableSmartCard registry setting to check the result. The Outlook client may not be properly configured to work with saved smart card credentials.
    Important
Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it,
back up the registry for restoration in
    case problems occur.
    Remove existing certificate based credentials
The first step to prevent a PIN lockout is to delete any existing certificate based credentials that were saved by Outlook.
    Open Control Panel.
    Double-click Credential Manager.
See whether there is a Certificate-Based credential similar to the following:
    @@BSUgiZQZ54Pf6cEtxKflWHH
Also, see whether there is a Generic credential similar to one of the following:
    MS.Outlook.14:[email protected]:PUT
    MS.Outlook.15:[email protected]:PUT
Note 14 indicates Outlook 2010 saved the credential and 15 indicates Outlook 2013.
If these are both present and were created or changed at the same time, they are likely smart card credentials saved from Outlook. Click the first credential to expand it and to show the details. Then, click Remove to delete the
    credential from Credential Manager.
Repeat step 4 for each one of the credentials listed in step 3.
When you are finished, close Credential Manager.
    Configure the EnableSmartCard registry setting
The second step to prevent a PIN lockout is to create the EnableSmartCard registry setting.
    Outlook 2010
For Outlook 2010, the EnableSmartCard registry setting was introduced with the Microsoft Outlook 2010 hotfix package dated December 13, 2011 (KB2597028). We recommend that you install the most recent build of Outlook 2010. For more information
about the latest applicable updates for Outlook, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
2625547 How to install the latest applicable updates for Microsoft Outlook (US English only)
To create the EnableSmartCard registry value, follow these steps:
    Exit Outlook.
    Start Registry Editor.
Create the following registry values at the specified locations:
Note Manually create any registry keys or values if they do not exist.
    Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\RPC
    DWORD: EnableSmartCard
    Value: 1
    Exit Registry Editor.
For this question, if you need to get more information about Exchange 2010, I suggest you post the question in Exchange forum:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/home?category=exchangeserver

    Hi,
Please navigate to the fmwconfig folder and check the adapters.os_xml file.
    $DOMAIN_HOME/config/fmwconfig/ovd/default/adapters.os_xml
There are chances the adapters.os_xml file could be corrupted due to which the Weblogic server fails to start.
Please verify if the adapters.os_xml file is valid.
In case the file is corrupted, please perform the following steps :
    1) Take a backup of $DOMAIN_HOME/config/fmwconfig/ovd/default/adapters.os_xml
    2) Delete $DOMAIN_HOME/config/fmwconfig/ovd/default/adapters.os_xml
    3) copy adapters.os_xml from $MW_HOME/oracle_common/modules/oracle.ovd_11.1.1/templates/ to $DOMAIN_HOME/config/fmwconfig/ovd/default/
    4) Restart the server.
    Regards,

  • Configuring weblogic server to start automatically

Hi, I have installed oracle weblogic server 11g, jdk/jre 7 and forms & reports 11g. i have successfully installed all softwares. I configured forms and reports domain and weblogic domain. I would like to have weblogic start automatically when i login in to comp/server. Right now i have to click on the start admin server for weblogic server domain button in domain folder and the stop admin server button. I also have to type in the username and password into the cmd promt when i click the start and stop admin server buttons.
How can i have the forms and reporst weblogic server start automatically?
how can i get past not having to enter in username and password each time it starts up and stops? (this is entering the username and password before you get to the weblogic console login screen)

i configured it as a windows service. i followed the instructions from the link you provided and when i finished i named the file "startweblogic.cmd." I put the file in the "WL_HOME\server\bin" directory which also has the installsvc.cmd file in and ran it as administrator.

  • Remotely login error on windows server 2003 using gemalto smart card

I am getting this error when trying to log on windows server 2003 remotely using smartcard. We have our own CA. We are able to successfully logon on windows server 2008 using same card.

    Hi,
Base on my research, Event 537 indicates that a logon attempt was made and rejected for some reason other than those covered by explicit audit records in this category.
Would you please provide more details?
Are there any related warnings and errors under Application Logs or System Logs?
By remotely login, do you mean logon via RDP?
Here are some related links below for you references:

  • Configuring weblogic domain for IAM using WLST

    Hi All,
i have to configure a weblogic domain using wlst(off-line).i am able to do this by using wls.jar template but that domain does not contain all the deployable component which is required for IAM ,IDM.
I don't know how to set the configuration component which is required for IAM,IDM as asked configuration wizard aske when we use GUI mode and how to give the schema details.
please give any idea how to configure a domain(for IAM,IDM) using WLST exactly same as GUI mode .
    thanks

I'm not sure what is your problem, but there is no compatibility issue between CSS and Bind normally.
The docuement you referenced only says, in the background section, that the DNS server itself needs to be configured so part of your domain is handled by the CSS.
So, your dns server handles all request for your.domain but there is one NS entry forwarding request for www.your.domain to the CSS so the CSS can answer the dns request.
The css is not able to handle all types of dns request (ie: email server ip address request) so you can configure a 'dns forwarder' on the css to forward the request to another dns server.
See the following for dns forwarder config example

  • How to configure mail server for subscription

    Hi,
I want to test subscription. My problem is how to configure the mail server.
As to my understanding, we need first configure mail server, then the user can choose "Subscribe" in the Details screen of a folder.
    My steps are:
    1. In KM - CM - Utilities - Channels, specify SMTP server, userId and password.
    2. In KM - CM - Utilities - Channel originators, set the Original address for notificator.EMAIL.
    3. In KM - Collaboration - Groupware Transport - Mail Transport, specify SMTP server and sent message folder.
After that, when I choose a user and click "Send email", it failed saying "Failed to communicate with SMTP server when sending the email.".
Could anyone tell me what's wrong with my configuration, or what should I do to make subscription work?
    Thanks,
    Ray

    Hi Vineeth,
    Thanks for help.
    According to your steps:
    1. set up a mail transport and making notification and mailing service active.
In System admin - KM - CM - Global services, I've enabled Inbox, Mailing and Notification services.
In KM - CM - Collaboration - Groupware Transport, I've set up a mail transport:
      Name: JavaMailTransport
      SMTP Server: smtp.yahoo.com
      Sent message folder: /documents
      System alias name: mytransport
    2. Give everyone read permission on notifications in KM.
Where can I set user's permission on notifications? I think you mean folder /etc/notifications, but I don't know how to set permissions.
    3. Check if proper id's are maintained in users profile.
      How to do this?
    Thanks for help~~

  • Support for smart-card authentication in PowerBuilder based application

Hi, I have an application on PB11.5 with an Oracle DB back-end (11.2g). My DoD customer wants the application to use their DoD CAC Card (Smart Card) to authenticate against the Enterprise - Windows Active Directory domain, currently the application uses user-id\password for user authentication.  Is this something newer versions of PB can support and implement? Thank you.

You have a couple of choices:
    1.  Depending on how old their workstations are, or if they have ACTIVCLIENT installed, you could call the CAPICOMM ActiveX using OLE commands
    2.  A solution that doesn't require that ActiveX is to use the Smart Card SDK built into newer versions of Windows.  It does require a lot lower level coding though, as you have to issue specific APDU commands to the card and know how to handle the responses.
I posted a sample of the latter to the NNTP groups back in 2011.  I suppose I should get around to creating a blog entry explaining how to use it.
