Confirmation to user regarding Save changes depending on data change

Hi,
I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.0.2 version and new to ADF. I have a situation like, i have 8 - tabs and user will be moving from one to another by optionally modifying the information displayed on the each tab. If user doesn't modify the page, then system should not prompt for "Saving the data in the perticular tab". However in the case of modification in the tab and moving to another tab, system shoud prompt to the user with the message "Do you want to save the changes? Yes/No".
I need a help regarding this by using the JavaScript / backing beam. I feel, if this can be implementable by using Javascript will be good.
If we implement the above by using backing bean, then we may end-up in using ActionListner to send the status back to server and at the time of moving to another tab, again travel back to server to get the changed value status. If i have 20 elements on page, there may be ActionListner for all GUI element respectively and frequently traversing back to server may not be good.
If the code is shared related to above scanario, will be a great help.

Reporting on SR Owner Change, Activity Due Date Change

We have few Report Requirements around Audit Trail. We are looking for Reports where we could Track Service Request Owner change, SR Status Change, Activity Due Date Change etc. As we know, In CRMOD Analytics, we cannot report on Audit Trail or use the PRE() function. Can anybody suggest any other ways for reporting on the Changes where we could show each and every change made to these fields and not only the previous values.

Lets Say you want to track status Change in SR. There are two ways of doing it.
Option 1:
Create a Long text field in SR page.
Name it "Track Status Change". Do not Display the field to the users.
Default the Field to Initial Status+","+Now().
When the Status Changes, you need to append the field with "Current Status"+","+Now()+";"
The Semi Colon is delimiter to show that this is the new status. This delimiter would be used in the report to seperate the status. You can achieve this using the reporting functionalities.
The down side of this is that it can affect the performance of report since lot of Sting functionalities would be used for the tracking.
Option 2
Whenever the status changes, create a completed task. Populate the Subject of the task with the Status. Put a workflow/field validation so that no one edits the subject when the task is created automatically.
You can run a report on the Task Created Date and Subject to get the Audit Trail.

Allow reader users to save pdf form with data

I want to create a form that an adobe reader user can open and save a copy as a pdf with the data in the form. I know that requires reader extensions - what i can't seem to figure out is if I already have this included and how to do it. I have LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2 - which is the download I end up at when searching LC with reader extensions.
Does anyone have instructions on how to do this or know whether that functionality is available in the version I'm running?

You can add the Reader Extesnion right to save the form with data locally in two different ways.
1. In Acrobat Pro open the form and under the Advanced/Extend Features in Adobe Reader will walk you through a wizard. Once the wixard is finished, save the file and use that one. This technique is limited to 500 users by licence.
2. LiveCycle Reader Extensions Server has a User Interface that allwos you to pick the rights you want. There are no luser imitations to this option.
If you do not have either, option 1 is a lot simpler. You can download a trial copy of Acrobat Pro and try it.

Regarding the Time dependent master data error

Hi Masters,
        I've loaded the time dependent master data from flat file only two fields. When I checked that corresponding characteristics in maintain master data, that contains by default from date 01.01.2007and to date 31.12.9999 this date also. Could you please help me to rectify this error.

Employee date change after pay roll run

i have an issue
one employee join on 10th of the may but in sysytem it was enterd as 13th of the may
and pay roll was processed to that employee
now can we change the employe join date now
if yes how can we do this

Hi Shajish,
There are three scenarios when you may need to change hiring date:
1) After payroll is run - when hiring date is before actual Hiring date.
2) After payroll is run when hiring date is after actual Hiring Date.
3) Before the payroll is run.
1) PA30 -- Copy actions info type - action type - incorrect entry -- save and come out PA 30 copy actions info type -- action type - correct entry - now correct your entries, save your date is changed.
2) PA30 - Utilities - change payroll status - delete accounted to field, save and come out - then again utilities change entry leaving date - correct the hiring date - save and come out.
3) PA30 - Utilities change entry/leaving date change your date and save.
Try this aslo
Go to PA30
Enter personnel number.
Select action infotype.
Select subtype hire mini master record.
Change to new date.
Under reasons, select new position.
Click save.

The date changed for unlocking my iPhone from July to October

For some change reason the date changed on which I was able to unlock my phone. I was July but suddenly it changed to Oct 2012. I have a German provider (T-Mobile) but they are not able to help me. Does anyone know waht happend. I found more people with the same question in other forums but no answers.

Don't know what to tell you. Yours is the first post of its kind regarding a "delay" in authorizing an official unlock I've seen, and quite frankly I can't imagine any reason for such on Apple's end. All that Apple does is add your phone's IMEI number to a data base of officially unlocked iPhones. Something seems fishy to me regarding what your carrier told you. At any rate, there is no one from Apple here, thus nothing anyone here can do to help you. You could always call AppleCare & verify the veracity of what you were told, and if not true confront your carrier.

Difference between earliest master data and master data change bonus

Hi,
Can anyone tell me what is the exact difference between earliest master data change and master data change bonus? Whenver any infotype is changed, why are the dates updated in both the fields? Is it not enough if only Earliest master data change field is updated? I was thinking that Earliest master data change bonus field is updated when IT267 is created, but even if i change the time data both the fields are getting updated. Please advise?

Hi,
Earliest master dat change date is date beyond which no master data change can be put in for employee in infotype.
It is used to restrict any master data entry beyond certain date as restriction for employees that client has set and is moreover controlled at control record level but ocassionally used at employee level whenever payment was hold for long time and so on.
Master data change bonus date is date which gets automatically filled in whenever there is any master data change.
This date cannot be past earliest master data change date and will throw error if tried for employee to input.

User exit for billing to change vbrk header data on SAVE

      but if i modify vbrk fields it does not get

I am using WAD to develop planning layouts for BIIP.
I am curious as how to prompt the user to save the changes thay made to the data on the layout if they decide to navigate away from the page.
Any suggestions?

Did you find the place choosing the options? I didn't remenber them all, you can try to search these options.If you want to change the default value of this option, you can go to System Administration --> System Configuration --> Service Configuration --> Applications --> com.sap.portal.epcf.loader --> services --> epcfloader. Set the value of Workprotect.mode.default, which default is 1, and other three options are related to 2, 3, 4.

Prompt user to save change before abnormally closing the application

I've some trouble prompting user to save change before abnormally closing the application (logging off, shutdownding machine...). I tried to use Runtime.getRuntime().addShutdownHook() and it doesn't seem to work. Here's part of my code. Help please!!!

doesn't much matter. shutdown hooks are not guaranteed to run or be able to finish.

How to promt user to save changes when changing non-database fields?

I have a form with two tabs. The datablock Block_1 on tab_2 is based on a database view. But all the displayed items of Block_1 are non-database items. Whenever a user changes some items in Block_1 and presses save button, the values from non_db items get copied to the db_items (based on view) and commit_form is called. This works fine.
But the problem here is: after changing some items in block_1, if the user navigates to some other option/form from the menu , the form doesnt promt the user to 'save the changes' and all the changes made are lost. How can I fix that?

ARD 3 not prompting user to save changes on restart

Hello! I have ARD 3 and when I send out a restart command and select the radio option "Users can save changes or cancel restart" it acts as if I didn't select this, and instead selected "Users lose unsaved changes".
This has never worked for me. If working properly, it SHOULD actually show up on the affected computer a dialog popup of some sort providing the user just those option: to save changes or cancel restart.
What is wrong/going on, and how do I fix it?
