Confused OPatch error PSU 13919095( July 2012 )

Hi all,
I try to install the latest PSU from July to our Oracle 11.2.0.3.0 Grid infrastructure..
The latest OPatch version shows an error regarding the OPatch version for the patch.
Does anyone can help me out ?
1. Download latest PSU 13919095/
2. Download latest OPatch p6880880_112000_Linux-x86-64.zip ( ID. 6880880 )

Why does the newest version of OPatch from (MAR 2012) does not fit for the PSU 13919095 and what version does I need ??
Edited by: tbrinkmann on Sep 18, 2012 6:26 AM

The error is misleading and I usually met this when i specified the patch location incorrectly.
That patchset actually contains 2 patches, and you shouldnt reference the subfolder 13919095 directly, but the location where you unzipped.
Lets say you unzipped the patch to /home/oracle/patch, then you should:
opatch auto /home/oracle/patch -oh ...and not
opatch auto /home/oracle/patch/13919095 -oh ...

  • About the template FSCM9.1 FP2 Peopletools 8.52.03 (v4 - July 2012)

    Hello,
Just tested quickly this new template delivered 2 months ago (July 2012).
As far as I undestand, it is just a recut of the one delivered in April 2012. At least it solves the main issue I reported in that other About the template FSCM9.1 FP2 Peopletools 8.52.03 (v3) about the network prompt missing.
But I still have remarks/issues on the template FSCM9.1 FP2 Peopletools 8.52.03 (v4) released earlier in July 2012.
_1. First of all, there a lot of errors reported in /var/log/messages_

...Well, I don't know if it triggers others problems yet, but the last line could reveale an error within the /etc/hosts file which has not been properly modified during deployment (especially IPV6, it probably should be removed) :
    [root@psovmfscmfp2 /]# more /etc/hosts
    127.0.0.1       localhost.localdomain   localhost
    ::1     localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6
    192.168.1.150   psovmfscmfp2.phoenix.nga psovmfscmfp2
[root@psovmfscmfp2 /]#_2. Now about the COBOL_
Despite I choosed to install Microfocus, COBOL does not work. Sample COBOL processes such as PTPDBTST and PTPDTTST finished in error.
The log is empty, here below the output from the file $PS_CFG_HOME/psft/pt/8.52/appserv/prcs/PRCSDOM/LOGS/stdout (psadm2) :
    =================================Error===============================
Message:     Process 10899 is marked 'Initiated' or 'Processing' but can not detect status of PID
            Process Name: PTPDBTST
            Process Type: COBOL SQL
            Session Id:   9313
    =====================================================================
OprId = VP1Note that I successfully tested AEs and SQRs.
Here is the command line fired that I can see from the process monitor > parameter (nga is being my run control id) :
PSRUN PTPDBTST ORACLE/F91TMPLT/VP1/OPRPSWD/nga/10899//0 I used the following trace setting on the PTPDBTST's process parameter (override) to see what happens :
%%DBTYPE%%/%%DBNAME%%/%%OPRID%%/%%OPRPSWD%%/%%RUNCNTLID%%/%%INSTANCE%%//%%DBFLAG%%But it does not generate more logs...
I also use "RCCBL Redirect =1" in psappsrv.cfg (reconfigure and restart appdom), then start the COBOL through menu PeopleTools > Utilities > Debug > PeopleTools Test Utilities, and run a "Remote Call Test".
I received "COBOL Program PTPNTEST aborted (2,-1) FUNCLIB_UTIL.RC_TEST_PB.FieldChange PCPC:2143 Statement:26", but it generated two empty files (PTPNTEST_VP1_0913064910.out and PTPNTEST_VP1_0913064910.err).
Next step, checking the folder $PS_HOME/cblbin, it is...er... empty... does this mean COBOL have not been compiled ? Hmmm, I'm pretty sure I replied 'yes' when it was prompted though (still have the screenshots)...
And we can see several folders dated from today and license seems ok from Microfocus directories :

Those files are owned by psadm3 with a read only for other users (sic). But more concern, I'm wondering why it looks into apptools (???) whereas I'm using psadm1 (tools only, COBPATH=/opt/oracle/psft/pt/tools/cblbin).
Anyway, seems the *.gnt files required to run the COBOLs programs are now in bin :

Yes, unfortunately, it fails again. But good thing, the log is not empty now :
PSRUN: error while loading shared libraries: libcobrts64.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directoryThat's probably coming from some missing libraries during the psprcs.cfg configuration. Let's use the same env. variables settings as for psadm1 when compiling COBOLs.

I did not go further, but we could expect the same issue within the Application COBOLs, since the cblbin directory is also empty out there.
According to psprcs.env, there're two values for COBDIR and the one for the applications cobol is empty :

[psadm2@psovmfscmfp2 PRCSDOM]$The directory "/opt/oracle/psft/pt/apptools/cblbin" is owned by psadm3 and hosted on the database server (nfs mounted), so I assume we also need to set proper values for env variables, and compile the COBOLs before being able to use them.
To resume what I did to make the COBOLs working on this PSOVM :
    1. As root, start LMF (this has to be done only once)
    cd /opt/oracle/psft/pt/cobol/microfocus
    ./mflmman
    2. As psadm1, set proper env. variable and compile (setting env variable has to be done each time you want to compile COBOLs)
    export COBDIR=/opt/oracle/psft/pt/cobol/svrexp-51_wp4-64bit
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$COBDIR/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    export PATH=$COBDIR/bin:$PATH
    cd $PS_HOME/setup
    ./pscbl.mak
    ./psrun.mak
    3. As psadm2, set proper env. variable and reconfigure psprcs.cfg, restart, restart (setting env variable has to be done each time you want to start the process scheduler, so probably better to append these in the .bash_profile)
    export COBDIR=/opt/oracle/psft/pt/cobol/svrexp-51_wp4-64bit
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$COBDIR/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    export PATH=$COBDIR/bin:$PATH
    cd $PS_HOME/appserv
    ./psadmin
    4. Same as step 2, but with user psadm3.
    HTH,
    Nicolas.
PS: will it be the same issue on the HCM template delivered at the same time ? To be tested as well.
PS2: and yes, I tested it twice before posting, result is same.
Edited by: N Gasparotto on Sep 13, 2012 5:17 PM

Fortunately, the COBOL issue does not exist on PSOVM HCM9.1 FP2 PT8.52.06 delivered in July 2012 (v3). COBOL are properly compiled (tools and app COBOLs), cblbin is not empty and they run successfully on the first shot.
    Nicolas.

  • I bought the new ipad (ipad 3) in July 2012.  what software did it come with and does it have siri?

i bought the new ipad (ipad 3) in July 2012.  what software did it come with and does it have siri?

The new iPad comes with iOS 5.1.1.
To get all new functionality and Siri, you need to update to iOS 6.
Be aware that if you were a Google Maps App user this has been replaced by version 1.0 of Apple's own new Maps App.
From the many user reviews, Apple's Map App is still a work in progress.
You can still access Google Maps from the Safari web browser.
Also, the YouTube app has, also, made a disappearing act.
You can use mobile YouTube from Safari to still view YouTube or a YouTube client app called Jasmine or download the Google YouTube App for iPhone. Google is working on a new YouTube App for iPad and isn't available, as yet.

    Hi,
Installer Error 1106 are caused by misconfigured system files within the OS if I am not wrong. You could try this:
    http://www.almuseo.com/1106-error.php
Before that, also try the alternate setup.ini file provided. Replace your setup.ini with this and try the installation.

  • How do I find Desk top software from July 2012?

Hi, I have the tour 9630 that crashed and I lost all contacts. I had a back up from July 2012. I updated my desktop software and tried to restore my back-up. The updated desk top software did not recognize my old backup file. I need the software that was available a year ago. Any suggestions where to find it? Thanks for your help.

Do you recall if it was Desktop Software v6?

  • OPatch error 41, Windoze, 11.2.0.3

    Hi all,
I've read the entire thread from back in October 2011, "Applying Patch failed with error code 41" The platform is Windoze Server Std Edition R2, x64. Oracle 11.2.0.3, just installed, "Software only"
I've followed Werner's (uid=oradba) suggestion to rename oracle base directory; restart system; name oracle base back > run OPatch. Still get same error code 41.
I've tried the suggestion to run as Administrator. Same error code 41.
I've got no DLLs or other files in my list of "being used by some other processes." All 32 instances of my file in use error are: D:\oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\oui\jlib\srvm.jar Does OUI limit the modification of srvm.jar? How to I get it to relinquish control?
The Opatch error echoed to the display is:

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

If you registered your computer after June 11th, you were entitled to a free upgrade to Mountain Lion. See http://www.apple.com/osx/uptodate/.
If you went ahead an purchased ML before recieving your redemption code then you're just out $20. Not a big deal - you should have been instructed on how to get a redemption code for the OS X update.

Since beginning of july 2012, it is impossible to install any app from Appstore. It is not possible to update any application without having a big crash of the ipod which is almost three years old.

    Try the standard fixes:
    - Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod
If you still have the the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • TS4212 When in July 2012 will Mac OS X 10.7 be available?????

    Hi everyone:
I'm trying to fix my Mac OS X 10.6.8 which suddenly became unresponsive last week when opening Itunes, Safari, Adobe PDF, Photo booth etc.   The error message says to "upgrade the latest software applications and Mac OS X"   I determined that I need to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.7 from 10.6.8 - but the Apple online store says that 10.7 is not available until "July".    Today is July 15th, 2012.
    Frustrated in Calgary,
    Alex

Before upgrading, backing up is imperative!  I agree also any software issues you have now will NOT be fixed by upgrading.  Freezes like you describe are usually due to:
    1. An overflowing hard drive - over 85% full is typically the arbitrary limit.
    2. Software Update in Apple menu -> System Preferences having network difficulty.  Disable it, its Quicktime component, and any other panels that have software updating for themselves. Only upgrade from the Mac App Store and/or http://support.apple.com/downloads/ and known good software distributers.
    3. Using cache cleaning software other than is built-in to the web browser.  Such software actually slows you down, and can corrupt your cache files.
    4. A bad directory.    Only a backed up system can be examined for this.
    5. Spotlight or Time Machine running in the background.    Be patient for it to complete.
    6. A dying hard drive.
    7. Bad RAM.
    8. An incompatible peripheral.
