Connect to SharePoint web service using the XML / Web Service connector

Hi experts,
I am currently trying to display my SharePoint list in Crystal Report. Therefore my plan is to use a SharePoint web service to get the data and paste them to the Crystal Report.
Is it possible to use the "XML and Web services" connector of the Crystal Reports database expert?
When I enter the web service URL, for instance:
https://[url]/_vti_bin/lists.asmx?wsdl
and click next... I have to enter the web service credentials.
On the next page I have to enter Service, Port and Method.
Do I have to enter the service URL again here?
What If, there is no port? Can I leave that field empty?
I know the methods, but where can I add the mandatory parameters?
Thanks for any helps and comments!
Sebastian

Hi Ananth,
thank you, but this document does not help at all.
We are using Crystal Reports 2008 SP2.
We want to use the Web Service Connector.
What I need is more informationen about the Web service connect. For example - the connection in Microsoft InfoPath is much easier - there I don't have to enter a port and can choose the methods from a list.
Is it possible to use the Crystal web service connector for MS SharePoint Webservices?
Or must I use the Crystal SDK to carry out a connection?
Best regards,
Sebastian

  • Unable to create new services using the R3 replicated service categories

    Hi All,
    I have the following problem:
    We have replicated the services from our R3 system to SRM (as well as the materials).
    We also have an external system that will be creating new services and it will reuse the service categories from R3.
    When I try to create a service online, I can only select the SRV_ category type. None of the others which do exist in COMM_CATEGORY are available (Like SRV_ALL, SRV_SERV,...). When I try to select them I get an error like:
    "Product category SRV_ALL has a different product type to maintained product"
    The problem doesn't exist for materials where I can use any of the MAT_* types.
    I suspect that the settings in COMM_HIERARCHY transaction might have an impact. I can see that for MAT_ and all MAT_* the attribute product type has been set to "Product". Whereas for services I only see that SRV_ is set to "Service", all the other SRV_* type have no value set. According to SAP Help they would inherit the value from the parent which is SRV_, but perhaps this functionality doesn't fully work?
    Now, I would like to get the value the product type attribute set to "service" for all SRV_* type, however in SRM I cannot edit them as the ECC system is the source. Does any one know if I can change some settings for the replication of the service types so that this attribute is set for all my service types during replication? Or any other solution?
    Thanks in advance!

  • How to create web applications with the LabVIEW web server

    Wonderful Forum,
    I've noticed that sometimes it can be tricky for LabVIEW users to learn how to create their own custom web clients using the LabVIEW web server. I created a LabVIEW web development community group and wrote some tutorials to teach the basics of creating web clients using HTML, Javascript, and AJAX. The idea is that LabVIEW users without any web background can quickly look at some tutorials and examples to get started on their own projects.

    Hi Joey,
    A great idea! I recently presented at a local user group meeting about my WebSockets API (see the links in my signature). I've uploaded the presentation and the demo code I gave to our UG here.
    I think the barrier to entry is with needing to know the web languages (e.g. html/css/js) as well as writing your LabVIEW code. I have joined the group and look forward to seeing some interesting content on there! Certainly some demos of using AJAX to make requests to Web Services and do something with the data (e.g. display on a graph) would be a good place to start.

  • Using the Embedded Web Server To Connect A Wireless Printer To Your Network

    AKA:No Wireless Setup Wizard Button, which would be way easier.
    The Prelude
    Some entry level printers do not offer a 'Wireless Setup Wizard' button, or a menu option that is accessible from the front of the printer. Printers that do not offer this luxury option, can still be easily configured to communicate to your router if you have a Mac or Windows PC.
    You still may have an easy option to get your network settings configured in your printer, if your router supports WPS. I personally do not like to use WPS as it can bring its own frustrations. WPS is not within the scope of this document.
    This document is geared towards the last available option, and in my opinion the best option. It can however be the most involved option. I am referring to using the Embedded Web Server (EWS). Most modern network capable HP Printers have a setting page that can be accessed from a web browser. The process is rather simple, but many confusing hiccups can occur, and that is what I hope to prepare you for.  There will be variances for different printers. I am using my experience with consumer printers that have been around the last few years.
    First, do not get overexcited about this document: Accessing the HP Embedded Web Server. Don't get me wrong, it is a great document, it's just that the instructions, while accurate, will not work until your printer is configured to connect to your network first. We will revisit this later however.
    Seatbelts Please
    The first thing we need to do, is have the printer broadcast its own network, sometimes referred to as AdHoc, sometimes referred to as Auto Wireless Connect. To do this, you need to navigate the menu system of the printer, and find the option to reset the network settings, network defaults or something similar. If your printer has the Wireless Direct feature you won't need to reset the network settings, but this is a perfect time to make sure Wireless Direct is turned on. If you aren't using Wireless Direct, the timer starts. Generally speaking, for the next two hours, the printer will broadcast an 'HP Setup' network, or have some variation of the printers name listed in available wireless networks. Regardless you should have plenty of time, if you read it all first and then went throught the steps.
    *Preparation:
    Here is where you want to use your favorite device, one capable of seeing 2.4ghz networks. Android phone, Apple iPad, Chromebook, Windows or Mac Notebook that you decided not to install the printer software on. Any of these devices will work. Apple iOS devices required a bit of coddling, as Safari doesn't work well with the EWS Wireless Setup Wizard.
    Do you know your network SSID? What about the passphrase, passkey or whatever the security word is called?
    If you didn't set it up, and just started using it when the internet guy installed it, then there is probably a sticker on the router with that information. If you still can't find it, call your ISP, router manufacturer or favorite family member for help to find that information (If you use a family member, remember to buy them something nice on the next gift giving holiday in your region).
    *Apple iOS specific, device preparation:
    1. You will save yourself a lot of frustration by downloading the Chrome Browser for iOS now. Go ahead, I will wait...
    If you are installing Chrome for the first time, when it completes the install, open it, and get passed the greeting and tutorial before continuing.
    2. You need to forget your home network connection when you are done with step 1. Just hold down on your home network in the wireless networks list, and 'Forget' the connection (or find the arrow that leads to the same option). If you do not take this step, it will reconnect to the home network once you run the Wireless Setup Wizard, causing you to have to back track.
    3. Be aware, when you connect to your printer's network, that it may appear to not connect (ie. spinning wheel, no confirmation) to the printer. This is a known behavior. Just close the wireless settings, and proceed as normal.
    Begin The Journey
    Open up the wireless section of your device and look in the list of available networks and tell it to connect to the HP printer network. The SSID will usually start with HP, and may have the printer model or the word SETUP in the name. Once you are connected (see "Apple iOS specific, device preparation #3 if you are using iOS), it is time to open your browser, preferably the Chrome browser when at all possible. In the address bar type 192.168.223.1 and press go or hit enter. I use the colloquialism 'hit' when I just mean 'press' again, sorry for the redudancy.
    If all is well, you should see a web page that should refer to your printer. Now is the time to find the 'Wireless Setup Wizard' button. Most printers should have it here on the main page of the EWS. Just take your time, it may not be obvious at first. Once you press it, the setup process will begin. Follow the instructions. It should see a list of detected wireless networks, and you can select your home network. Then if it requires a password, it will prompt for you to enter it. At the end of the Wizard, it might say something about not being able to test it, or show a page cannot be displayed screen. This is OK. This means the printer is now talking to your router and not your device in your hand.
    Proof Of Concept
    You can now tell your device to scan and connect back to your normal home network. Once you connect, you can verify if you can see your printer. Keep in mind, with dual band routers, that the printers will typically only be visible on the 2.4GHZ network, so your device should also connect to that network as well for testing. Once connected, now we need to find out what IP Address the printer has. Remember the document I started with “Accessing the HP Embedded Web Server”. It now is relevant, and you can complete those instructions to make sure you can see your printer on the same network. If your device can enter the printers EWS with its new IP, then you have officially connected your printer to your network. Also your printers wireless light should be solid, indicating communication.
    If It Worked
    Now the fun begins. If you are setting up ePrint, and if there is no option to configure ePrint from the front panel, find the Web Services tab, and proceed with that process. If you are setting it up to a Chomebook, you still need to setup ePrint (if it is an ePrinter) before configuring Cloudprint... but that's another document.
    I hope I have not missed any small detail that pertains to your configuration that made this hard to follow. Any comments would be welcomed to improve this for future use.

    That printer also has a USB port why don't you connect it using that port?
    If you insist on using ethernet, Mac OS X can create two network connections at the same time. On the iMac you can configure one of the network connections to be wireless and the other to be wired using the ethernet port.
    Since you already have a wireless network configured and connecting to your AirPort Extreme for Internet access all you need to do is plug in an ethernet cable from your iMac directly to your printer and configure them to use self-assigned IP addresses. Self-assigned IP addresses take the form of 169.xxx.xxx.xxx and are used in this configuration to avoid any conflicts with your other network. You have to configure the iMac and the printer to each have a unique IP address in the self-assigned range, just make each of the last group of numbers in the IP address different, and then the iMac should be able to print to the printer.
    Note that when you configure the Imac and printer this way no other network devices will be able to print

  • How can I use the Outlook 2010 social connector to connect to a Sharepoint 2013 mysite?

    Hello Forumfriends!
    We have recently (like, last Weekend) migrated our Sharepoint 2010 Farm to SharePoint 2013 and we have started using mysites.
    Now, there is a nice featur in Outlook 2010, the social connector. This connector connects nicely to SharePoint 2010 mysite (it does, I have tested myself).
    Unfortunately, I seem to be unable to connect to my new SharePoint 2013 mysite with my Outlook 2010 Client.
    Can anyone help me with this?
    In SharePoint 2010 I configured the social connector using the URL
    http://mysitehost/my. When I do the same with my SharePoint 2013 mysite it says "Could not connect to Server"
    We are not using Office 365 and no, we will not rollout Outlook 2013.
    Regards,
    Jack

    Hi Jack,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you could use Outlook 2010 social connector to connect a SharePoint 2013 MySite.
    The OSC makes Outlook 2010 a social networking tool by connecting to the new social experiences in SharePoint 2010. That connection allows the OSC to download activity feeds for colleagues and display them inside the new People Pane.
    When using Outlook 2013 Social Connector connecting to SharePoint 2013, Outlook calls /_layouts/15/ActivityFeed.aspx with parameter (destination user email) to sync updates. However, it is likely that Outlook 2010 cannot recognize SharePoint 2013 newsfeed.
    So, for solving your issue, I suggest you use Outlook 2013 Social Connector to connect a SharePoint 2013 MySite.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • Server Side activties have been updated. You need to restart SharePoint Designer to use the updated version of activities.

    Hello,
    I have the following scenario for the installation of EPM 2013 environment:
    1 Server running Windows 2008 R2 SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 2
    1 Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1, running Sharepoint 2013 Enterprise (Standard Initially installed and then migrated to the Enterprise in order to install Project Server 2013), Project Server 2013 and Workflow 1.0 (2013).
    After configuring and validating the configuration of Workflow 1.0 by http://server_name.example.com:12291 page and also check the Application Services in Central Administration and receive the Workflow Status = Connected.
    Alright, but when I run the SPD 2013 RTM to test the creation of Sharepoint Workflow 2013, I get the following warning:
    "Server Side activties have been updated. You need to restart SharePoint Designer to use the updated version of activities."
    I've tried:
    a. Restart SPD2013;
    b. Restart Server 2013 and Sharepoint Workflow 1.0;
    c. Reinstall and reconfigure Workflow 1.0
    And the message is always displayed, preventing the use of Workflow Sharepoint 2013.
    Can anyone help me, I'm in the middle of a deployment to a customer.

    How did you uninstalledLanguage Pack from SharePoint 2013 ? when I googled it I found that language pack cannot be uninstall@
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262108.aspx
    "If you no longer have to support a language for which you have installed a language pack, you can remove the language pack by using the Control Panel. Removing a language pack removes the language-specific site
    templates from the computer. All sites that were created that have those language-specific site templates will no longer work (the URL will produce a HTTP 500 - Internal server error page). Reinstalling the language pack will make the site functional again.
    You cannot remove the language pack for the version of SharePoint 2013 that you have installed on the server. For example, if you are running the Japanese version of SharePoint 2013, you cannot uninstall the Japanese language support for SharePoint 2013."

    we are using the G Web Server with LabVIEW on a WinNT 4 machine. Up to now these works fine. Therefore I would recommend you to choose a more stable OS.
    Maybe you can try to programmatically restart the server every 2 days. Within LabVIEW you would do this by running "HTTP Server Control.vi". Unfortunatly all connections will be closed, thus be aware of that!

  • Search help for Web Dynpro using the SAP-search help

    Hi,
    I’m trying to create a generic search help for Web Dynpro using the SAP-search help. It should working so, that I construct a Web Dynpro-component, that gets the data of the search help from the SAP-system, interpreted it and creates the ui-elements and the needed context generic.
    The mapping between the Input field of the customerview and the right search help is to be made with an xml-file, which contains the information: name of the view, the input field, the search-help-name and the name of the field that will be returned.
    The xml-file is reading from a helper-class. That helper-class contains any information, witch need the search help-component as well as the customer-component.
    The initialization takes place in the method wdDoModify of the customer. The call of the search help from the customer should be implement with an Action, witch is bound to a Button(create dynamic in the helper-class behind the input field).
    In a second foot should be create a plugin for eclipse, witch insert the used files (search help component, helper class, …) in the project. In addition it should create the call in the customer generic.
    It would be great if someone can give me a feedback!

    Hi Mike,
    The BlanketAgreement.exe is a reference to the executable that will be created when you compile the solution you created in Part II - Part III. I think there is a mistake in the tutorial because it asks you to name the project 'Blanket' which means that by default the executable will be called Blanket.exe and not BlanketAgreement.exe. The tutorial also misses the step asking you to compile the Blanket project before you go on to create an installer. You should compile your Blanket project in Release mode before creating an installer. By compiling the project you'll get a Blanket.exe file in the bin folder of your Blanket project which you then need to add to the installer per the instructions.
    SAP do offer development courses in some areas and there is training material here on the SDN and on the SAP partner portal (and maybe the customer portal as well). Try searching this forum for 'training' or 'tutorial' and you should get a few links. There's also a development certification.
    Personally I'd recommend you give yourself a little project to work on and just get stuck in
    Kind Regards,

    Hello;
    So in the example below replace "ernie" with the alias you want the client to use.
    I can show you how I do it :
    First an entry need to be added to the client tnsnames.ora that uses a SERVICE_NAME instead of a SID.
    ernie =
    (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS_LIST =
           (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = Primary.host)(PORT = 1521))
           (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = Standby.host)(PORT = 1521))
           (CONNECT_DATA =
           (SERVICE_NAME = ernie)
    )Next the service 'ernie' needs to be created manually on the primary database.
    BEGIN
       DBMS_SERVICE.CREATE_SERVICE('ernie','ernie');
    END;
    /After creating the service needs to be manually started.
    BEGIN
       DBMS_SERVICE.START_SERVICE('ernie');
    END;
    /Several of the default parameters can now be set for 'ernie'.
    BEGIN
       DBMS_SERVICE.MODIFY_SERVICE
       ('ernie',
       FAILOVER_METHOD => 'BASIC',
       FAILOVER_TYPE => 'SELECT',
       FAILOVER_RETRIES => 200,
       FAILOVER_DELAY => 1);
    END;
    /Finally a database STARTUP trigger should be created to ensures that this service is only offered if the database is primary.
    CREATE TRIGGER CHECK_ERNIE_START AFTER STARTUP ON DATABASE
    DECLARE
    V_ROLE VARCHAR(30);
    BEGIN
    SELECT DATABASE_ROLE INTO V_ROLE FROM V$DATABASE;
    IF V_ROLE = 'PRIMARY' THEN
    DBMS_SERVICE.START_SERVICE('ernie');
    ELSE
    DBMS_SERVICE.STOP_SERVICE('ernie');
    END IF;
    END;
    /lsnrctl status - should show the new service.
    When I do this the Database will still register with the listener. I don't give that to the clients. That one will still be available but nobody knows about it. Meanwhile "ernie" moves with the database role.
    So in my example the default just hangs out in the background.
    Best Regards

    Can data be passed to an external web server using the "in-course web browsing" feature in ver. 7? I would like to display a simple web page, and I would like to pass to that web page the answers to all the quiz questions, quiz score, etc. In other words, instead of passing quiz results to a SCORM-compliant LMS like Moodle, I'd like to pass that data to a Drupal Webform using a URL like:
