thank you very much!

Thanks for your answers, Now I have the following problem, to develop this code:
try {
          InitialContext iC = new InitialContext();
          DataSource dataSource = (DataSource)iC.lookup("jdbc/ConnectionAlias");
          Connection con = dataSource.getConnection();
          java.sql.Statement stmt = con.createStatement();
          ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("select * from ejemplo");
          while (rs.next()){
               com.sap.test.sql.testsql.wdp.IPrivateTestIViewView.IDatosElement
                                                         DatosElement =
                                                         wdContext.nodeDatos()
                                                         .createDatosElement();
               DatosElement.setId(rs.getString("id"));
               DatosElement.setNom(rs.getString("nom"));

  • Anyone successfully set up connection pool in s1as with ms sql server 2000?

    As subject. Since I have seen a lot of posts about the NoSuchMethodException issue with various dbms providers, and the only "official information" I found thru different forums, google, different sun/javasoft sites and forums are this:
    http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/retrieve.pl?doc=fsunone%2F8172&zone_32=NoSuchMethodException&wholewords=on
    Which is wonderfully vague and provide not-so-much useful information...
    As for the information and suggestion posted by other forum members, most or all of them have experience with setting up Oracle, DB2, mySQL, etc., not aimed for MS SQL Server 2000 (you may think, I am just asking for it running MS SQL server with Java... oh well, not my choice)
    I still haven't seen any positive feedbacks on how this exception was caused and how to resolve it. I have literally exhausted all leads on how to fix this issue, so right now I'm only interested to know whether anyone in the forum actually have a successful connection pool set up with MS SQL server 2000.
    My platform:
    w2k sp3
    SunOne app server, update1, JDK 1.4.1
    latest MS SQL 2000 JDBC driver
    This fails with the NoSuchMethodException error:
    try {
    InitialContext ic = new InitialContext();
    DataSource ds = (DataSource) ic.lookup("test_db");
    con = ds.getConnection();
    System.out.println( "con is created -> " + con );
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    System.out.println( "failed -> " + ex.getMessage() );
    This works just fine:
    try {
    Class.forName("com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver");
    con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1433;DatabaseName=testdb;SelectMethod=cursor", "username", "password");
    System.out.println( "con is created -> " + con );
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    System.out.println( "failed is fucked -> " + ex.getMessage() );
    thanks,

    Hi,
    Thanks for pointing out that article, I did not find it previously. After following the directions in the artile and your advise, now dbping seems to be able to connect to SQL server.
    Thank you very much.

  • Simple way to connect Oracle 11g XE with MS SQL Server 2000

    Is there a simple way to access SQL server database/ Tables within from Oracle 11g XE (Windows-32bit) on same machine. I am a novice so kindly keep it simple. Thanks

    To connect to a SQL Server you need to use an Oracle product called Database gateway for ODBC which uses a 3rd party ODBC driver to connect to the SQL Server.
    The easiest set up is to install DG4ODBC release 11.2 on the SQL Server. How to configure the Database Gateway for ODBC is described in note:
    How to Configure DG4ODBC (Oracle Database Gateway for ODBC) on Windows 32bit to Connect to Non-Oracle Databases Post Install          [Document 466225.1]
    when you install DG4ODBC on a 32bit Windows operating system and the instructions for a 64bit Widnows operating system can be found in this note:
    How to Configure DG4ODBC (Oracle Database Gateway for ODBC) on 64bit Windows Operating Systems to Connect to Non-Oracle Databases Post Install          [Document 1266572.1]
    The database gateway for ODBC is available for free from here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html
    Please make sure you select the 32bit or 64bit Windows operating system depending on the platform where you've installed the SQL Server and on which you now install the gateway and download the <win32/64>_11gR2_gateways.zip CD.
    Once downloaded, unzip it and install it using the Oracle Universal installer. Make sure you select the product Database Gateway for ODBC (there's also a dedicated SQL server gateway called Database Gateway for MS SQL Server - this gateway is NOT for free and it requires a separate license).

    Hi All,
    I was not able to solve the problem with MS SQL 2000, but I was able to resolve the issue with MS SQL 2005.
    You have to chhose the following settings while instalation,
    Service Account - Select one of the following options:
    1) Use the built-in System account for each service and choose Local system or Network Service.
    2) Use a domain user account, and enter the user name and password.
    Under Start services at the end of setup make sure that SQL Server and SQL Server Agent are selected.
    Authentication Mode
    1) Select Mixed Mode (Windows Authentication and SQL Server Authentication).
    This mode is required for a Java or ABAP+Java system.
    If you choose this mode, you have to set the password for the sa login.
    Note: The password for the sa login must comply with the Windows password policy.
    Collation Settings
    1) Select SQL collations (used for compatibility with previous versions of SQL Server).
    2) From the drop-down list select Binary order based on code point comparison, for use with the 850 (Multilingual) Character Set.
    I hope this helps!

  • Portal 4.0 with MS SQL Server 2000 using CLOBs

    Hello,
    I'm driving Portal 4.0 with MS SQL Server 2000. I have encountered serious
    problems when trying to persist events (e.g. RuleEvent) to database. In my
    application-config.xml file I have JdbcHelper attributes
    ShouldUseClobsForReads & -Writes set to 'false' as they should be or
    mssqlserver4v70 driver.
    It seems that when it is time to write the event to database, Portal4.0
    can't find JdbcHelper MBean configuration values and therefore it uses
    default values (=true) for both attributes.
    Otherwise reading and writing works fine with MS SQL Server 2000 (at least
    DATA_SYNC_ITEMs).
    Any help appreciated.

    CLASSPATH=D:\j2sdk1.4.0_01\jre\lib\ext\mysql-connector-j-2.0.14;D:\MS-JDBC-Driver\lib\msbase.jar;D:\MS-JDBC-Driver\lib\mssqlserver.jar;D:\MS-JDBC-Driver\lib\msutil.jar;E:\Installers\Java Related\jdbc dirvers\JSQLConnect3_27\JSQLConnect.jar
    I have the same J2EE_CLASSPATH setting in my userconfig.bat file.
    I've loaded this driver class in deploytool:
    com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
    and my connection url is:
    jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433;databasename=test
    What's weird is that I've also tested these settings with a simple Java Application and they worked fine, but when I try to use the same for the j2ee server from sun, I always get the annoying "no suitable driver" error.
    If anyone has ever come up with a solution that works, please help. You may post you reply here or better yet, email me at [email protected]
    Thanks a lot in advance !

    Hi,
    The error "no suitable driver" occurs when something goes wrong with the connection URL.so make sure that u are using the correct URL format (check if any of the info is case sensitive etc) or atleast try other URL alternatives (for MS jdbc driver).
    try these changes only through deployment tool->tools->server configuration->datasources->standard.(instead of editing resource.properties directly).
    last not the least - make sure that there is NO "rem" keyword before "set J2EE_CLASSPATH" in the userconfig.bat file :)

    Hi to all.
    I have a problem using BEA WebLogic Server 3.5 (with service
    pack 1) with SQL Server 2000 as the database. I followed the
    instructions for SQL Server 7 included in the file readme.txt > in WLCS_35_DDLand the (thin) Web documentation on the
    subject. The I tried to run the example portal and the
    templates examples. All is working well apart from the fact
    that some data seem not to be taken from the database. For
    example the example portal lacks the news titles in the "News > Index" portletand the ads in the "AcmePromotion" portlet. In > the templates examples some logo

  • Using Unicode with MS-SQL-Server 2000

    Hello,
    i want to migrate my coldfusion application to support
    unicode. for that i read some articles here in the knowledge bas e
    and on the web. So i actually tested with:
    * correct use of cfcontent,cfprocessingdirective
    * storing source-files with UTF8 (BOM)
    * activating Unicode-handling for strings in
    datasource-settings of coldfusion admin
    * using nvarchar instead of varchar on mssql-server
    my firsts test displaying diffrent characters of different
    languages (chinese, japanese, arabic) look good. Tests storing and
    selecting example strings in that languages also look good.
    but now i read, that mssql stores unicode data with the UCS-2
    implementation and cannot handle UTF-8 directly. but my
    coldfusion-application will be converted to UTF-8.
    now my question: Do i have to do special handling storing and
    selecting the application data or does this the mssql jdbc driver
    for me. What about characters in some languages which use 3 Bytes
    in UTF8. How are they handled when MS-SQL-Server 2000 uses UCS-2
    (max 2 Bytes) instead?
    Many regards for your answers

    no need to worry, the db driver will handle that for you.
    just make sure your
    encoding is the same end-to-end.
    also a potential gotcha has just been exposed in unicode
    handling for sql server
    related to cfqueryparam under loads, you need to convert
    everything to "N"
    datatypes to avoid this. see jochem's blog:

  • CMP Entity Bean's problem with MS-SQL Server 2000

    Hi everyone!
    I have a problem regarding CMP Entity Bean on OC4J.
    I made one CMP Entity Bean and deployed it to OC4J.
    It was successful.
    I used MS-SQL Server 2000 as Datasource.
    So, I installed MS-SQL Server's JDBC Driver and add some jar files to classpath.
    And I updated 'data-sources.xml' in OC4J's config directory.
    Then, I updated also 'orion-ejb-jar.xml' in my application's directory.
    I changed data-source's name to my data-source's name which use MS-SQL Server 2000.
    Finally, I started OC4J and EJB Client program which called Enitiy Bean's create method.
    But, The error occured which was 'Database error: java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC][SQLServer]LINE 1: '.' Wrong sentence'.
    What's wrong? I need any helps.
    Here is stack overflow message. Thank you. Best regards.

    Hi Young,
    From the information you have supplied, my guess is that the SQL
    string that OC4J is sending to SQL-Server is incorrect. So it may
    help if you could see the exact SQL string. In order to see the
    SQL string, I suggest you either run OC4J in "debug" mode, or try
    using "P6 Spy".
    The following web page has details on running OC4J in "debug" mode:
    http://kb.atlassian.com/content/atlassian/howto/orionproperties.jsp
    And here is the web page for "P6 Spy"
    http://www.provision6.com/
    And these other web sites may also be of help (in general):
    http://www.orionserver.com

    Good Luck,
    Avi.
