Connecting 3CX to foward calls to LYNC Dialin

Hello All,
Well this is a first for me and to be honest I'm not even sure if this is possible. Our Lync 2013 infrastructure is still in a beta phase, we would like to allow dial-in conferencing but do not want this to be connected to our production phone
systems.
I was able to get a number from callcentric and set up a 3CX pbx system. I was just wondering how to I connect the PBX system to LYNC infrastructure. I added the  PSTN gateway with the Mediation Server settings in the Topology settings but
am unsure of how to create a link between 3CX and Lync to forward the call.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Thamara,
The whole issue I am having is  I am unable to create the trunk port from 3CX to LYNC. I was able to create the LYNC side but unable to do the 3CX side.
Maybe I am confused but here is what we are trying to accomplish. When a user wants to join a conference they call the dialin number for example 718-555-5555  and they are connected to the lync conference. The 718-555-5555
number is currently being routed to the 3cx server now what I need to know is how do I assign this number to the lync conference?
We will not be using enterprise voice and would just like this to be used for conferencing nothing more.
At this point I am willing to use any free PBX that will allow us to route our Call Centric number to the Lync conferences. So suggestions are welcomed.

  • Lync to Lync calls not working when users outside of network. But calls from Lync to external numbers do work.

    Hello,
We are having the following issue: when our lync users are outside of our network, just connected to their home internet or a public WiFi  and not on VPN, they cannot place calls to other
Lync users inside our network. They get a poor network connection message on the call window. But they are able to make calls from Lync to external numbers without a problem.
Inside our network, Lync to Lync calls work perfectly fine, the same for calls from Lync to external numbers.
Does anybody know what could be the cause of our issue? Perhaps I'm missing a setting on our Edge server. What should be the first thing I should check on my Lync servers?
    Thanks for any help!

Have you opened up ports on your firewall from your internal clients to the edge on UDP/3478 and TCP/443?  This sounds like you might have a problem there.  Can you internal clients properly route to this subnet and resolve the pool name of your
    edge pool?
Ports and protocols poster, check out in A/V section client traffic to edge showing UDP/3478 and TCP/443:

  • Skype connect 3cx phonesystem - dtmf problem

    Dear community members,
i've run into a brick wall. im using 3cx phonesystem, with skype connect mapped on a single channel. My problem is on dialing the skype in number 3cx phone system detects the call and forwards to the one of the extensions, but the problem is the dtmf doesnt gets transmitted, im using an ivr application and the same application is working fine if the call is forwarded from an isdn gateway.
As per the technical details, i think that skype connects forwards dtmf tones in the standard rfc format.
Please help as this is a urgent matter for us and we need to get it working.
P.S. :  My server hardware doesnt have a sound card installed.

I am sorry to say I have no answer for you, but it sounds like you are further than I am in the 3cx configuration. Would you mind posting some of the steps you had to do to get 3cx to receive calls from Skype? I

Lync: User name of instant message.

In February I was guided that it was temporary problem, however again there is problem that SIP address is displaying all the time.
Inquiry content are mentioned in separate sheet ■SIP address is displayed when IM is called, is it specific, however if one can view user name, Let me know the best way and please confirm this.

Hi, I use facetime regularly with my parents who live outside US and it stopped working. Their ipad2 rings, says connecting..and then 'call failed'. Upgrading their iOS5 (or 6) is not a option as my parents do not know to do this. I came across forums where this issue is mentioned on apple support and cnet.
Is there another option apart from upgrading ?

Well, in his defense, his parents bought him the player so I guess we can't blame him. Though the 6 GB versions were available in November so I guess they really did get 'nervous' about Christmas and like to get their shopping done early! Kudo's to you for trying to remain with the Creative line but for what you're looking for it's obviously not the player for you. Creative seems to be fine-tuning their line for the audio crowd. I'm into mp3 players for the audio. Sure, the ability to watch video's and look at pictures on a decent screen is a plus but for me at least, it's all about the music. And with music, 6 GB is more than enough. Heck, 8 GB would have been more than enough for me. I'm a subscriber to Napster-to-go, so I don't feel the need to carry 00 plus GB of stuff on my portable player. I honestly don't understand the desire to watch movies or TV shows on tiny little screens. But you're also talking to a guy who doesn't watch television. What a complete waste of time and brain cells. Probably the **competitor products we can't discuss here** or one of those players would better suit your needs. Companies are definately picking their niche markets carefully and Creative's decision to not offer hard dri've players any more seems to definately be saying bye-bye to that market. I can't say I blame them. Hard dri'ves eventually give up the ghost and are quite delicate for people on the go. Good ridance, I say. Let Apple, Zune and all the others cater to the Z generation's need to be spoonfed their video/TV addictions anywhere and everywhere. I'll pass. It's one thing to be able to enjoy some music on the go and enhance an otherwise dull work day or dri've. But movies/TV shows at work, school, or wherever? Please. Cut the cord! Just my $.02 - YMMV! I made a CF/Flex site based on the Flexstore sample app,
using a database instead of XML as the data source; in case you
    want to see it:

    At first I had troubles similar to what you describe;
initially, part of the problem was that my hosting company had not
yet upgraded to CF 7.02. One other thing I had to correct: when you
upload to your server, upload the entire ‘bin’ (or
whatever your output folder is) minus the debug SWF.
If it would help with other issues, contact me and I will be
glad to make my project code available to you. Good luck.

  • Using Outlook to make a phone call via lync

I have Outlook 2010 and Lync 2010 clients installed on a workstation, with full VoIP for Lync for external and internal calls.
I want to know if its possible to have Outlook place a voice call via lync automatically based on a rule or via custom VBA in outlook?  Is it possible to do the same but send SMS instead of a voice call?
It seems possible as the tools integrate quite well, but I haven't found any documentation supporting it yet.

You can call a phone contact in outlook, then it will open a Lync Window.
But not sure if a rule or custom VBA can make it automatically.
You may consultant the outlook expert.

  • I have a wireless home phone connect device. Can call out on it when dial tone present, but most times cannot receive calls since purchase. Anyone else having a  problem with their home connect device?

Have had Wireless Home Phone connect device refreshed and updated three times since I purchased it in September 2014. Last tech I worked with on it initialized an NRB to check the network. I checked the location of the tower, which is less than one mile up the hill with clear line of site. The device always has two antennas on it. The device is great when it does work, but most of the time it rings three times and then jumps to an automated message saying the person I am calling is not available. I've actually gone up there several times to try an fix the device, but always end up calling a Verizon tech who has me unplug it, pull the battery, and they do some network stuff and then we turn it back on and it works. After the last time on 10/02/14, I called it and got the message. I drove up there, 100 miles one way, and called it while standing in the room. Got the same message. I picked up the phone, heard a dial tone and dialed my phone and it range through. I hung that phone connected to the device and call it using my cell phone. It rang through. I went home and tried to call it the next day. Again it did not ring through and I got the message after three rings. I call another phone at the facility and had them call me on my mom's phone and it is fixed it again. The fix last for a day or two and then it's broken again, like it is today. If it's a network problem then it must be fairly close to the area because no matter what we do it fails again. So much for the 99.98% reliable. This thing is a piece of junk!
I purchased this device and put it on my plan so that my mother who we placed in a home at 96 years old would have a phone connection that she could use and wouldn't flip her out. My family and her family has not been able to faithfully connect with her at this critical time in her life. I am giving Verizon 10 more days to figure this out and then I am going to ask for a total refund not to mention how much time and travel I have put into this piece of junk. Either the home connect transceiver is broken or the network is broken. Why should I pay close to $70 for a service that has not worked more than several days out of 35 days? Also I have spent close to three hours on the phone with decent technical people, but it's my time. I should send Verizon a bill for every time I have gone up there to fix this device as well.
What perplexes me is that a regular cell phone would have sufficed, but because Verizon has to have a data connection that is not available on a regular phone and it was going to cost me $30/month, I decided to go with the home connect. Seemed like a nice solution for an older person who would have a hard time using a cell phone and keeping it charged. Plus after all the fees for getting it connected, it only cost $20/month. That would be a pretty good thing, IF IT WORKED....... The other thing that irks me is, why do I have to pay for a data connection when the cell phone Verizon originally provided can't even access the network. What ever happened to adding a phone line for $10 bucks\ month? All I wanted was a simple phone. She would not be able to use anything more complex and all she needs is a phone line period.
I have no problem paying for something that works and does what it should, but this is ridiculousness. The MTF on this device is somewhere around 1 to 2 days. Out of 365 days that's about a 96.5% failure rate....... Want my advice? Get ride of this device. It sucks and it's bad marketing.

        jsavage9621,
It pains me to hear about your experience with the Home Phone Connect.  This device usually works seamlessly and is a great alternative to a landline phone.  It sounds like we've done our fair share of work on your account here.  I'm going to go ahead and send you a Private Message so that we can access your account and review any open tickets for you.  I look forward to speaking with you.

As with the original issue, your problem is likely with the Edge server. The first thing I would do is check all of your ports and DNS settings.
Remember that Edge may use somewhat unique ports for AV if you, or the federation target, used a single IP address. If you haven't, see if you have that unique port open on the firewall. If you used a single IP address, ensure that the federation target
has the correct port open also.

  • Connection reset error while calling web service deployed on tomcat

    Hello Friends,
I am trying to invoke a web service from web dynpro application. The web service is deployed on tomcat 5.5 server.
I am creating an adaptive web service model using wsdl file. The model gets created without any error.
But when application is deployed and run it is giving following exception:
    java.net.SocketException: Connection reset
        at java.net.SocketInputStream.read(SocketInputStream.java:168)
        at java.io.BufferedInputStream.read1(BufferedInputStream.java:254)
        at java.io.BufferedInputStream.read(BufferedInputStream.java:313)
        at java.io.BufferedInputStream.fill(BufferedInputStream.java:218)
        at java.io.BufferedInputStream.read1(BufferedInputStream.java:256)
        ... 102 more
I tried to call the service from a simple java application. There the service works fine.
Also, in the web services navigator, if I specify the wsdl url for testing it gives the same error of "Connection reset".
I don't think this is a proxy server issue as the tomcat is within the local network.
Can someone please help me with this?
    Thanks and regards,
    Mayuresh

  • Getting an error message when trying to connect to Telepresence Meeting - "Call Denied"

I am getting an error when trying to connect to Telepresence units I have been using for quite some time. I tried multiple computers and multiple destinations. The error message "call denied" pops up within seconds after trying to connect.
Any ideas? Is this a Cisco related issue?

I can't dial:  (Get 'call denied' message)

Is there a way to know this is being addressed?  How would one start a support case on this subscription service?
Although I subscribe for service for my SX20's and Bridge, my jabber video account is a free account.
Update: At 1pm CT I am able to dial and connect.

  • Prevent external calls from Lync mobile

I would like to allow people from my compagny to use lync mobile but I don't want them to call external number from lync mobile. ( for cost reasons, in order to avoid phone call initialisation from the compagny)
    some precisions:
    We are using lync 2010.
All people have a lync account and can call external number from their lync desktop.
So is there a mean to prevent people calling external number from lync mobile?
    Thank you

    Hi,
Agree with Anthony, If EnableMobility is set to True and EnableOutsideVoice is set to False, the user can run Lync Mobile but will not be able to use Call via Work.
Please make sure when you running the cmdlet you are a member of
    RTCUniversalServerAdmins

For work we are trying to create inhouse software training using lync meetings.
We are able to share a screen or present an application but for some reason the audio is completely disabled.  Even the Check Call Quality is disabled. No one is able to hear the presenter.
I'm wondering if anyone has a fix for this or a way to verify the why's of the behavior

    Hi Gerard,
The forum you posted is for Lync Server On Premise only. The issue is more related to Lync online, you can also post a question on Office365 forum for assistance. Thank
    you for your understanding.
