Connecting an HP photosmart R967 camera

Hey Guys,
I got this HP camera that i need to connect and synchronize with my macbook, but when connected on iPhoto it shows no images though i have about 177 photos on it! Is it because the photos are on the SD card not the camera memory? or is there a plug-in that i should download for my camera? (i don't think it needs a plug-in since the iPhoto recognizes the camera)

I have managed to do this following these links but ONLY with the USB connection.
I have not been able to connect through wireless or to set up the scanner even through USB.
HP does not seem to have ready a utility to manage the printer from Yosemite and from my exploration of this website I don't think there is a solution that works.

If anyone knows how to set up the wireless connection I would be very grateful.
The printer is on the net, everything is fine in that respect but the Mac is unable to find it due to "an error".

  • HP Photosmart E337 - Camera is not recognized by Windows 7 Pro x64

I'm trying to connect an HP Photosmart E337 to my computer (HP Pro 3120MT with Windows 7 x64). I get an popup "New hardware detected" but the installation of the driver fails. When I try to update the drivers in device manager I get this error message.
I tried to uninstall the drivers, the software but it's impossible to get the camera connected. Is this camera supported on Windows 7 or is Windows Vista the latest supported OS?
Is there a known issue with this camera and Windows 7?

GoAdvisedIT, I cannot translate the words in your image you posted.
    Question:
Do you need to connect the camera only to add the images to the computer?
If so, I prefer not to do this and is considered a no no amongst professional photographers. Take the CF or SD card out and attach the card to the computer using a card reader. It will save potential problems and battery life of the camera. Then it wont matter if the camera will not work on Windows 7.
If you still need to connect the camera you can try installing the Vista driver using Compatibility Mode. Sometimes it will work, sometimes not.
    How to use compatability mode
Right click on the Driver (downloaded from HP) and select Properties.
You can choose to run the program in Windows XP/Vista compatibility mode.
Tick the box “Run as Administrator”.
Do not connect the camera to the USB port yet until finished or prompted to.
Let me know if you have any questions.

  • PC shuts off when Ipod Touch is connected.  Detects "Digital Still Camera"

My Ipod Touch was working fine until today. I plugged it into my PC and then it detects it as a "digital still camera". Then after a few seconds my PC will completely shut down.
The weird thing is that once it restarts with the Ipod connected already it will detect it as an Ipod and Itunes will open and everything normally. If I then disconnect it and connect it again, it will be detected as a camera again and again shut down.
I've looked all over the inter for solutions. Most of them involve updating the driver. But I cannot update the driver unless the device is connected. And when the device is connected as a "digital still camera" it will shut down my computer.
I tried booting in safe mode and then connecting the Ipod Touch and it worked fine. It detected it as an Ipod and everything worked fine. My plan was to boot in safe mode and then update the driver but I couldn't because it detected it normally.
I would normally try turning off some services to see if something it bothering it but I don't want to ruin my computer by consistently shutting it down unexpectingly and giving me errors each time it reboots.
I've seen other people online with this problem but none with a solution. I would really appreciate some help. Thank you

Mine is doing the same thing,I got it 2 days ago worked fine but today everytime i plug in the desk top it will shut it down. I plug it to my lap top it worked but i'm affraid that it will do the same thing again after a while. I have a feeling that there is some problem with itunes, if my computer is the problem why did it work fine at the begining. When I uninstalled the itunes and plug the ipod it starts charging but the computer did not shut down. I did some research and it seems that a lot of people having the same problem.

  • How can I connect to a remote firewire camera?

We have a system that has the following peripherals connected to it:
    1 - firewire camera
    2 - serial port devices
2 - emulated serial port devices (on VCP USB drivers)
    1 - Ethernet device
We have developed an application using CVI 8.1, NI Vision 8.6, and NI-IMAQdx 3.2 (it's an older cam). I would like to make this system accessible remotely (not remote desktop) and was looking for a way to program a server/client setup. Although it will be a lot of work, we can easily take care of a protocol for the Ethernet and serial devices. Where I'm getting stuck is the camera.
I've searched the forums and it seems that people can use the RT software module on specific host hardware to do just that. We don't want to invest in purchasing a separate software module or another piece of hardware, so I was wondering if it was possible to configure MAX or the NI vision server somehow to connect to a remote win7 PC to grab frames and configure the camera OR is there an easy way that I can transfer the stream over TCP/IP?
The only solution I can come up with is the grab a frame, save to .PNG, transmit it, and then load it on the client side. This seems very wasteful (and slow considering the harddrive will constantly buffer the data) and I would need to do a lot of encapsulation for changing camera settings, etc. Further, I'm not sure how well this would work for when we try to calibrate the camera with the IMAQ drivers. Is there a way to get the size and all relevant data structures in memory of the vision server so I can transfer them?
Finally, if there is a simple way of configuring and doing all of this for the camera that I'm missing (through MAX), then is there a similarly easy way of mapping the remote serial ports and of bridging the Ethernet data? I know there are a few pieces of existing software for the serial ports, but was looking to make a single software solution.
    Thanks for taking the time!
    -Stan

    Hi Stan,
Welcome to the NI Discussion forums! Thanks for posting your application here. There certainly are more efficient ways of streaming IMAQ images over a network. One such method would be to convert the IMAQ image type to a 2D array and then pass the data through TCP/IP, as you eluded to. Do you have access to LabVIEW? If so, you can look at this community example and base your CVI code on it. Although it is meant for a Real-time CVS acting as the remote system, you should be able to run the code on a regular PC. If you don't have access to the LabVIEW development system, the overall code structure for the server system is as follows:
    - Open IMAQdx reference, initiate a TCP connection, Create IMAQ image buffer
    - Initialize an IMAQdx grab
    - Loop:
    - Call IMAQdx grab
    - Use the IMAQ Flatten Image to String to convert the IMAQ image to a string
    - Call TCP Write to send the string length first, then again to send the actual string data
    - Dispose of the IMAQ image buffer, close the IMAQdx reference, close the TCP connection
On the client end, you just need to open the TCP connection and call TCP read to read the string size and then the string data. Then, you can use the unflatten from string function to convert the string back to an IMAQ image data type. After this, it is up to you how you want to process the data (display it on the screen, write to an AVI file, etc).
If you are not sure how to implement TCP/IP programs in CVI, please take a look at this tutorial. If you have more in-depth questions about implementing the TCP/IP side of the program in CVI, you may wish to post that specific question on the CVI board.
With regards to mapping the serial ports remotely, if you are already using NI-VISA for COM port communication, take a look at this document on Remote Instrument Control with NI-VISA. Essentially, you should be able to access the VISA resource (e.g. a COM port) remotely by enabling the remote NI-VISA server on the client machine. For more specific help with this aspect of your code, please post to the GPIB/VISA board.
Feel free to post again here if you have more IMAQ and vision-related questions. Hope this helps!

  • Can't connect wirelessly HP Photosmart C4780 to MacBook Pro OSX 10.8.2 Mountain Lion.

    Hi!
Didn't know exactly where to direct this question in the Apple Community so I chose Airport.  To everyone, thanks in advance.
I’m really desperate. I’m a big Apple fan.  I have two Apple MacBook Pro laptops with Mountain Lion software.  I also have an Apple Airport Extreme.  My HP Photosmart C4780 printer was also purchased from Apple.  Anyway, my Internet service is AT&T.  AT&T just upgraded my service with a new modem/router (AT&T U-Verse).  Prior to the conversion, my wireless printer connection was working perfectly.
Now can’t print wirelessly. For your information, everything is connected via Wi-Fi. The AT&T technician stated that I no longer needed my Apple Airport Extreme, so it was removed.  Naturally, after the tech leaves, we find out the HP printer wirelessly no longer works.  Thinking that removing Airport Extreme may have been the problem, I reconnected it to the AT&T modem/router, however no change.
This appears to be an HP printer problem.  I went to HP community support with the information below but I have received no solutions outside of buying a new printer.
“Ran the HP wireless network test report and it states that HP printer can’t find wireless router and to verify that the HP printer network name (SSID) matches the wireless router network name (SSID) exactly.  The Diagnostic Summary in brief:  Wireless On & Working & Security – Pass; Network Name (SSID) Found – Fail. Nothing else under diagnostic summary ran.  Under Configuration Summary:  It shows old SSID name and Mac Hardware Address but no IP Address.
Next ran the Network Configuration Page and everything is enabled except the 802.11 Wireless.  It shows status – disconnected.  Under general information it states the following: Network status  - Offline; Active Connection Type - None; URL(s) for Embedded Web Server – http://0.0.0.0.”
To be straightforward, I’m no computer tech so I don’t know what this means or where to find.  The AT&T tech provided me the new SSID Name and a wireless key number but that’s it. Also I uninstalled and reinstalled via USB. The HP message states can’t find router. At this point, I’ve tried everything to reconfigure without success. If I need to make these changes via Airport Extreme Utility 6.0 not easy to find not that I know what I’m doing.
Most importantly if I ever get wireless working again, do I still need Airport Extreme connection or is the AT&T U-Verse modem/router sufficient?
Any direction or help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you for listening.

Thank you for your prompt response.  I'll be honest I'm a retiree and a newbie to all of this stuff. I don't even know how to do a thread. (Embarassing) This is my first ever contact with the Apple Community so I'm slowly trying to figure this out as well.
As to your thread request, I'm assuming you want to read my post with HP.  Not knowing how to thread, I've copied it below.

Re: Can't connect wirelessly HP Photosmart C4780 to MacBook Pro OSX  10.8.2 Mountain Lion.
I finally figured it out! (Sorry that I'm replying to my own posts btw, but I want to post the solution for anybody else with the SigmaplusEOL1 problem). If you have the SigmaplusEOL1 as your SSID when you  print the "Wireless Network Test Report", you do NOT need to return it (I know that's hassle for people).  To fix the problem, follow these steps.
    1) Unplug your printer.
    2) Go to your router's IP address (like 192.168.1.1 or whatever it is for your router).
    3) Change the SSID of your wirelss network to "SigmaplusEOL1".
    4) For the Security option for your wireless network select none (so that a password is not required to access your wireless network).
    5) Power your printer back on and reprint "Wireless Network Test Repor". It should say "No problem found..."
    6) The report should also have a the IP Address of the printer (under Configuration Summary at the bottom). Type that IP Address in your browser to get to the printer's settings page.
    7) Click the "Network" Tab at the top.
    8) Under the "Connections" header in the left pane, click "Wireless (802.11).
    9) Click "Start Wizard" at the bottom right.
    10) In the wizard, change the SSID and encryption (wep or wpsk) password to whatever you want your wireless network to be. So probably whatever it started out as before you changed the SSID to SigmaplusEOL1
    11) Click "Finish" at the end. The page will probably try to keep loading but it won't because you changed the network settings of the printer. Just ignore that
    12) Go back to your router's IP address and change the SSID and encryption password to whatever you changed the printer's SSID and password to.
13). Reprint the Wireless Network Test Report. It should say the SSID is the same as your wireless, and everything is good.
That's it. You should be good to go now.
Re: Can't connect wirelessly HP Photosmart C4780 to MacBook Pro OSX  10.8.2 Mountain Lion.
Thank you for your prompt response.  This has been a totally frustrating experience.  I’ve spent at least 8 hours trying to fix this.  My HP problems and your initial steps were identical to mine.  I am by no means a tech person and my computer tech knowledge is minimal.  However I followed your steps to the best of my ability.
I did get the SigmaplusEOL1 message.  I was able to get to Step 6 where the wireless network test report now reads – “HP printer settings do not match your wireless router settings.”  So I guess this is a step in the right direction.  However unfortunately the Configuration summary message for the IP Address reads – “Not Applicable”.  (Note: changing SigmaplusEOL1 to network name knocked out my Internet access.  Had to switch back to regular network name to regain access.)
I’m at a loss as to what to do next.   Without the IP Address is it possible to move forward?  As I stated earlier, I’m not a tech person.  As to your steps 7, 8 and 9, I can’t find them on my computer or maybe I’m looking in the wrong places.  In System Preferences - Network, I have none of these steps.  If you’re referring to Airport Utility, with the changes in Mountain Lion, these steps are no longer there. If you’re talking about Safari, Firefox or HP, now I’m really lost.
Finally, I don’t know if you can answer this or not.  If I ever get wireless working, do I still need Airport Extreme or is the AT&T U-Verse modem/router sufficient?
Again thank you for your time and patience.
Re: Can't connect wirelessly HP Photosmart C4780 to MacBook Pro OSX  10.8.2 Mountain Lion.
Unfortunately I am unable to offer any further advice as I only followed the instructions listed on the other page.
Finally, as to having WEP enabled, I don't know.  Don't even know where to look.  The best that I could determine is that my security is WPA/WPA2 Personal.
I'm truly sorry about all of this.  Thank you for your time and patience.  After reading all of this and you change your mind, I would understand.

  • Mac os x 10.7.4 connected to a photosmart c309a. Scan documents to word and edit?

I have a mac os x 10.7.4 connected to a photosmart c309a.  I use the mac drivers to scan document.  Everything is updated and working fine.  However, I would like to scan a document, copy it to word, and edit.  How can I do this?

The OCR software does not necessarily need to integrate with the HP Photosmart driver.  You scan the document, save it as a JPG, TIFF, PDF or whatever and then run the OCR software against the scanned file.
I use Readiris with an HP AIO printer on Lion and it works just fine, using MS Word to edit the results.

  • Connecting to HP Photosmart A617

I suddenly realized I was running back and forth to a printer in another room and that it was bluetooth capable, so I attempted to connect it (HP Photosmart A617) to my new Macbook Pro....... but even with the it in visible mode, my mac isn't seeing it. Any ideas?
    Thanks!!

UPDATE - I got the printer to connect by powering down and powering off the printer a couple of times.   I am able to print a test page successfully via wireless.
    NEW PROBLEM:
Although I can print a test page, I can print anything else.   I keep on getting the message that says:  Network host 'IP address' is busy; will retry in 5 seconds, 10 sec etc.   It never prints.    Doesn't make sense, how can I print a test page but not anything else?
    Please help.

  • Hp PhotoSmart C618 Camera Power On problems?

I just got a used Hp PhotoSmart C618 Camera, and when I put new batteries in, and tried to turn it on, it would not turn on. The power light flashed, but the camera did not turn on.  I looked at the batteries and double checked to make sure they were installed correctly, and they were.  Still will not turn on.  What if anything can I do about it?

    Welcome to the forums @SkipBleecker
I saw your post about the power not turning on when you changed the batteries in your Photosmart C618 Camera.
My best suggestion would be to try reseating the batteries (removing them and reinstalling them), or trying a new batteries again.
If the power still does not come on, call HP directly to see what your options are.

  • Wifi connection AirPort Extreme with IP-camera

I can't establish wifi connection Airport Extreme with IP-camera. At the same time cable connection is fine, but wifi not.
    Please, give me an advise.

You need to create a wireless network on the AirPort Extreme, and then you probably will want to assign a compatible static LAN IP address to the camera so that you can port-forward from the router to the camera.
