Connecting devices from Mobile application

am new to mobile development.
can anyone please giude me , is there any way to connect a windows device from a mobile AIR application ?
Any small guidance would be helpful for me..

I want to write a server that can "read" e-mails. I also want that my mobile phone could "talk" with it. I can make the connection using http (mobile communicate with servlet) and I can make the connection using tcp (control the connection myself, like making the communication a-synchronic).
Those are the only ways I know to communicate from mobile to a pc. which one is better?
are there any othr possibilities?

If I click the "Connect As..." button it asks for a username and password.
I've experienced connecting to other user's computers on a network. To gain access to their computer, I just use their username and password. I've done this before to transfer files without using a flash drive or burned disk.
I'm trying to find out what I'm supposed to log on as to gain access to this device...
My point is that yes, I'm connected to it by wifi. Otherwise it wouldn't show up; ha-ha!
Is my point really that hard to grasp?

"No Internet Access" on connected device with mobile hotspot

I've been on Verizon for 2 weeks. Note II on a Family Share Plan with lots of data. Using the built-in Verizon Mobile Hotspot application. Connecting from my work laptop, which is Windows 7.
Set it up and everything worked fine for a week and a half. I had no problems connecting or accessing the internet from my laptop. It worked fine Monday morning. Monday afternoon my laptop started giving me the warning message "No Internet Access" when connecting to the phone's hotspot. I'm in a 4g area where the hotspot has worked previously. I've tried several times in several different 4g locations as time allowed over the last 2 days, and I have not been able to get to the internet on my connected laptop again.
While connected to the mobile hotspot I ran Windows troubleshooter and it tells me that there is no DHCP server available, and that the default gateway for this network is unreachable. My laptop has no problems reaching the internet via the wireless network at work or at home. The laptop connects to both of those wireless networks every day (both before and since this problem appeared.)
I have rebooted both the phone and the laptop, with no change in the problem results. I renamed the hotspot, and connected to the "new" hotspot from my laptop, with no change in the problem results. I have tried running "ipconfig /renew" from my laptop while connected, and that is when it tells me that it cannot find a DHCP server for this network.
What broke? How can I fix it?
I'm still in the 100% refund return period on my contract and phones (for another day or so.) This is an absolute deal-killer. Hotspot on my phone is the single reason why I switched networks.

This morning I turned on the mobile hotspot feature on my wife's Galaxy S3 (on the same Verizon Family Share Plan.) Then I connected to it from my laptop. When it connected it said "limited internet access" for about 30 seconds, and then that warning went away and I had full access. I surfed for a moment to confirm, and all was working. I turned off the GS3 hotspot and turned on the hotspot on my Note II. When I connected to the Note II's hotspot from my laptop I still had no internet access. I left it for 3-4 minutes, and it never switched on. I tried surfing and got only error messages in my browser.
All of this was while sitting at my desk. So I believe I have ruled out the laptop as a cause for this problem.

After I posted the above in February I talked to Verizon support. They could not resolve the problem. They replaced the phone, and the new phone has worked for months. My work schedule changed a bit, and so I started using the hotspot less often.
Last week I noticed that after I connected my laptop I had a longer delay before it would change from "No Internet Access" to giving me access. Yesterday morning it was so slow that I got the command prompt up on my laptop and determined that from the laptop's perspective the problem was that there was no DHCP server available through the hotspot network. That morning it did eventually find the DHCP server and issue my laptop an IP address, and let me connect.
Yesterday afternoon the DHCP server never appeared, and I was not able to connect to the internet. Same thing this morning. I rebooted both the phone and the laptop. No change. The laptop connects to other wireless networks just fine, still. This worked for months. Why did it slow down connecting and then stop? I'm guessing there must be some sort of buffer that has filled up.
Anyone have any ideas?

How do I remove all connected devices from my itunes account?

I recently let a friend use my itunes account to download an app on their 3rd gen ipod touch. I have already changed my password and email address associated with my itunes account. Their ipod was never synced to my computer, so it does not come up when I got into my itunes account and try to manage all the devices associated with it. I've already used my deauthorize all button once before. My ultimate goal is to have the app disappear on their ipod touch, is there anyway to do that? Was just changing my email address and password enough to get it off of their ipod touch?

Changing the access list associated with your account won't delete content off his iPod.
Changing the account prevents him from downloading new content under your account, including updates to existing applications, but it won't remove currently-installed applications. That will only happen when the device is connected to iTunes and a manual sync is performed.

PeopleSoft Mobile Applications homepage

Hi all,
I am doing some R&D on PeopleSoft Mobile Expenses, which was recently released with FSCM bundle 23.
I have installed all required patches and bundles and configured Mobile Expenses.
When you start PeopleSoft and go to Main Menu > Employee Self Service > Mobile Applications, you are presented with two icons Expenses and Approvals.
When you click on Expenses, Mobile Expenses HomePage (iScripts) starts with following url
http://<myserver>:<port></psc/mobile/EMPLOYEE/ERP/s/WEBLIB_MBL_EX.ISCRIPT1.FieldFormula.iScript_Expense_Homepage
Everything works fine here.
When I copy this url and try it from a mobile device (tried iPad & Google Nexus Phone), it start the following url and your a presented with the mobile logon screen.
http://<myserver>:<port></psc/mobile/EMPLOYEE/ERP/s/WEBLIB_MBL_EX.ISCRIPT1.FieldFormula.iScript_Expense_Homepage?cmd=login
This is still logical, since accessing iscripts needs you to logon to PeopleSoft.
However when you logon to PeopleSoft the iscript is not redirected to:
http://<myserver>:<port></psc/mobile/EMPLOYEE/ERP/s/WEBLIB_MBL_EX.ISCRIPT1.FieldFormula.iScript_Expense_Homepage
but you a presented with a black screen with the following url
http://<myserver>:<port></psc/mobile/EMPLOYEE/ERP/s/WEBLIB_MBL_EX.ISCRIPT1.FieldFormula.iScript_Expense_Homepage?cmd=login
When I remove the ?cmd=login from the url I can access Mobile Expeses from an Android device.
When running on a iPad, after logging in PeopleSoft, I can see Mobile Expenses, but the page gets display only with a popup, stating I need to add this applcation to my homepage. When you set a link to the Expenses homepage url on your iPad homepage, you get a nice icon on your iPad homepage. When you click on this, you are again redirected to the PeopleSoft Mobile logon screen. After logging on, you see again a white screen, but this time without a url bar, which is hidden to make it look like a native app.
Now, my question is, why is my iscript url to being redirected to the actually iscript url and keeps having the +?cmd=login+ parameter in the url, even after logging on to PeopleSoft.
What am I doing wrong.

Hi,
This is a security choice the customer has to make.
You could have your PIA running on the internet, but definitely need to think about security (Loadbalancer, firewalls, reverse proxy, etc). Mobile devices can connect to the mobile applications from everywhere.
You could have your PIA running on your corporate intranet and chose to use a VPN connection from your mobile device to connect to the corporate LAN. Mobile device can still connect to the mobile applications from everywhere.
You could have your PIA running on your corporate intranet and chose to not implement any of the above alternatives. Mobile devices will only be able to connect to the mobile applications when connected to the corporate LAN through WiFi.
Since infra is not my field of expertise, these are the connectivity options, I can think about, but probably there are many more networking solutions.

How to track devices in Google Universal Analytics from Air mobile application?

I'm using Google Measurement Protocol to collect analytics data from mobile Air application

I found that Air application running on iPad 3 not detecting device model in google analytics reports.
I guess it's because Air environment sending incomplete user-agent string.
This is what it sending:
Mozilla/5.0 (iOS; U; ru) AppleWebKit/533.19.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) AdobeAIR/3.1
And this user-agent string sending by Safari on ipad (for comparison):
Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; CPU OS 6_1_3 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/536.26 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0 Mobile/10B329 Safari/8536.25
So Air application knows much less than Safari.
My question is: How to create custom user-agent string in Air application so it contains enough data for google analytics to detect device model?
Is there any solution that will work on most ios and android devices?

Connecting between two Adobe air mobile applications (On Android)

Does an Adobe AIR application can connect and pass parameters somehow (Directly or by http) with another android application?
Can Adobe AIR mobile application open a listening socket?

Um, I'm pretty sure this is wrong. You cannot use SocketServer on a mobile app platform for some stupid reason.
From the doc
"AIR profile support: This feature is supported on all desktop operating systems, but is not supported on mobile devices or AIR for TV devices"

Saving Captured picture from ADF Mobile Application into Remote Database

I am developing adf mobile application by using Device Demo Application from ADF Mobile Samples.I had deployed this application into Android mobile and capturing picture.
My Question is how can i save this captured pictured into Remote Database.
Could any one help on this!!!

i already imported AdfmfJavaUtilities package dont know why it showing exception.
and while i am debugging the GetConnection.java value of 'Dir' is null.i am not getting what is the AdfmfJavaUtilities.ApplicationDirectory?

I want to be able to connect with a Windows Mobile Device through Windows Mobile Device Center, within a Virtual Machine. When connecting through the Hyper-V Manager and through Remote Desktop, under "Other supported RemoteFX USB devices",
I can see the Symbol USB Sync Cradle. In the VM, in Device Manager, I don't see a USB connection. In the VM, I don't see any meaningful errors in the Event Viewer.
Host: Windows 8.1 Enterprise Hyper-V on a Domain. Upgraded from Windows 8.1 Pro. When this computer was originally installed with Windows 8 Pro, Hyper-V was enabled. I removed Hyper-V, and installed VMWare Player, because I wanted
USB Pass-through. I then uninstalled VMWare and installed VirtualBox. Recently, I uninstalled VirtualBox, upgraded to Windows 8.1 Enterprise, and enabled Hyper-V.
Virtual Machine OS: Windows Server 2012 R2 on a Workgroup. Started out with being a VMWare VM, using VMWare Player. Moved to VirtualBox. USB Pass-through was working in both those virtual environments. Used Disk2VHD to convert the
VM to a VHDX file.
On the Host:
Windows Mobile Device Center is connected to a Motorola Windows Mobile Device (MC959X) sitting in a Symbol USB Cradle. The OS on the scanner is Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 Classic CE OS 5.2.29217 (Build 29217.5.3.12.26). Advanced Networking
(USB to PC) is not enabled.
Enabled RemoteFX.
In the RDP file, and in the Registry, added the GUID's for:

Now, on the Guest, in the Device Manager, under Mobile Devices, I see the Symbol USB Sync. But Windows Mobile Device Center still does not connect.

Macbook loses wifi, prevents other devices from connecting too.

Hi guys
I have a strange problem whereby my macbook seems to lose its wifi connection, and prevent all other devices from connecting to wi fi either.
its very odd as the router still shows up in available networks with full signal, but I cannot connect to it and neither any other device, including ipads, mobile phones and various other windows laptops.
This can only be fixed by restarting the router, which is a pain as its tucked away upstairs!
I know its my macbook casuing the problem and not the router as the problem didn't exist until I came home from uni, and it hasn't happened at all over the last two weeks while my laptop was away getting a new battery. Today I got the macbook back and the problem has returned! More than a coincidence me thinks!
This can happen three or four times an evening and is very frustrating, especially for the rest of my family!
Once I have restarted the router the connection normally comes back, however sometimes I get an exclamation over the wifi logo in the menu bar, saying no internet connection.
My macbook is a aluminium 2ghz core 2 duo running OSX Lion with all the most recent updates, and the router is a BT homehub 2.0.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

I have had this problem after my (work provided) 2008 macbook was updated to mountain lion. I have tried all the suggested fixes with some success, resetting PRAM has occasionally sorted this out, deleting the wifi and then re-starting and restoring works, but is very tedious to do every time you need a connection!!
A further wifi problem caused by the update was the loss of access to passwords in keychain- checking the 'access by all applications' box in keychain preferences helped reconnection too.
The tip I wanted to pass on is this-
If you are having these problems, and resetting the wifi has sorted it out, turn off the wifi Every Time before you shut down the machine. This simple action seems to allow the mac to keep it's settings intact, and it can be turned on again without any problems the next time you boot the macine up.
The connection problems can't be hardware- this machine is as fast and stable as the new retina mackbookPro it sits beside- when it can see the signal......

How to set a background image to fill the entire screen on any device in a spark mobile application

I started developing a mobile application with Flex.
I'm trying to set a background image to fill the whole screen. I've been stucked at this point for days now. I tried everything and no solution seems to work for me.
I'm using a TabbedViewNavigatorApplication and i need to set some background images on views.
I need my image to fill the entire screen on any device. i don't need to mantain image aspect ratio, just need it to be fullscreen. This seemed to work when setting a custom skin on the TabbedViewNavigatorApplication, however this blocked all my views for some reason and all components contained in view became invisible.
Can you please tell me how can i achieve this?

Basically you need a larger image which can accommodate any device. The trick is to show only what each device can display, so therefore some clipping will occur based on device. Have something centered and towards margins have a gradient or just plane colors that way the stuff in the middle will be visible on every device while nobody will care if you are clipping from the color fill.

!. When you build java application in NetBeans (standard one) you just click 'Build' or 'Clean and Build' and your jar file is waiting for you inside 'dist' directory of your project
2. Connecting MIDP application to the server running PHP scripts is not a problem, just connect using simple HTTP with GET or POST and you are done, google on it!
3. You can connect to the database using some kind of PHP/JSP/ASP or whatever application you want and then using method from point 2 to send and retrive values, you can do it with web services as well, possibilities are endless

Invoking a Web Service from a mobile application

I have installed Sun Wireless Toolkit 2.5.2 for CDLC and MTJ.
I want to invoke a web service from an MTJ Application and I have not a clue of how to start.
First let me say I am working with RSA (which is over Eclipse)
My first attempt was creating the web service client and then try to convert it into a mobile application (through the use of MTJ --> Convert to Midlet Project)
I found 4 errors when doing so:
First was solved changing the jre to 1.6.
I am still dealing with the following three:

I only started to solve the first one. I assumed that I have to add the right .jar to manifest file (please let me know if I am wrong). I tried to do by adding the textual classpath rt.jar, however I am not able to give it the right path:
C:\Archivos de programa\IBM\SDP\runtimes\base_v7_stub\java\jre\lib\rt.jar (even though I split the too long sentence into two and I include an space at the beginning of the second, I still get an error when saving)
I would appreciate any help
A) to solve the existing problems
or
B) To create a web service client in an EclipseME application through any other method.

If you want to invoke a web service from a JCD you will have to build the SOAP message using JAX-RPC or AXIS and then programmatically creat an HTTP connection.
Or you can leverage the HTTP(S) eWay and then you only have to build the SOAP message.
Or use eInsight. You can import a WSDL into eInsight and eInsight will offer you a business process Activity to invoke the web service operations defined in the WSDL.

When I purchased a music app from itune store. This got downloaded in Itune maedia/Mobile applications.How to get the songs in that app to my itune library or on to IPAD?

If you have a music downloader app (depends on which you have), plug your iDevice into iTunes, go to your device (on itunes), go to your apps, scroll down, and select the app thats holding your music, click on "Save As" (should be located bottom right corner), save the music to your specific folder. Once done, follow through this: Adding music and other content to iTunes and you should have your music on your iDevice music app.
