Connecting HH4 to Post Office Broadband

For reasons I won't go into I've had to relocate back to my parents who have fixed broadband supplied by the Post Office I need Wireless connectivity and though as my HH4 was marketed as working with other ISP's it should be a straight forward swap over - alas no, I cannot get the HH4 to connect to broadband, simply sits there with the broadband symbol illuminated in orange. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

if it was a standard HH4 then it is locked to BT although BT does market a hub which is unlocked and can be used on other ISPs but that is only to purchase not free

  • IMAP Issue connecting Archiver to Post Office

I am running a GroupWise 8 sp2 hp2 system. I am trying to connect our new Barracuda Message archiver to all of my 30 post offices. Most run on Windows 2003 servers, but I have to that run on Linux. One is SLES 10 sp4, the other is SLES 11 sp 1. The one on 11 connects to the message archiver correct, as well as all 28 windows server post offices. The one that I have on the sles 10 box doesn't . This box also runs my primary domain, and gwia and webaccess on it. The msg archiver uses imap an soap to connect to the poa. All are turned on the poa. IMAP is not running on the gwia located on the box, so it shouldn't be a conflict. When I try to connect to the poa from the message archiver I see the following message in the poa log:
10:16:41 016 New IMAP session initiated from ::ffff:10.2.1.124
    10:16:41 016 Return from IMAP [890F]
10.2.1.124 is the address of the message archiver. Any ideas on what could be causing this issue?

Haven't seen that before... did you change both the authentication source (if needed) as also the Groupwise POA address in your GMS configuration?
Which version & what platform GMS, and which version of Groupwise are you using?

  • I have a Mac G4 (version=3.3)  How can I connect it to my BT Broadband.  It does not seem to have an AirPort card - do I need one and if so how do I get one?  Many thanks

I bought a Power Mac G4 (version=3.3) second hand from my company.  It is running Mac OS 10.2.8 and Microsoft Office X.  I wish to connect it to my BT broadband hub.  However, it does not appear to have an AirPort card and even if it did I was told that the BT hub mainly works with microsoft rather than apple products.  Can anyone advise me how I can connect and what products I need to buy?
    Many thanks

See http://www.airportcardsdirect.com/ these cards are cheap and not sold via DOA-Bay.

Not true. Those adaptors were intended for the iMac G3 (long outdated) and only the iMac G3. All G4 machines just take AP Cards the way they are.

You should also look into upgrading it to OS X "Tiger" but make sure you get the original retail install CD. It will be black with a large "X". Grey discs are machine specific and will not work.
Actually I HIGHLY recommend upgrading to OS X Leopard. Tiger is no longer supported by hardly anybody (Apple, Adobe, etc) and Leopard is still the minimum for most things nowadays. If you want more life out of this Mac, then I would highly recommend installing Leopard. And as mentioned above you NEED a Retail DVD. (The Leopard DVD has a little Purple in the Center of the DVD and a BLACK X in the center.

  • With Firefox 4 I can't print a shipping label off the post office's website (click 'n ship) like I used to with Firefox 3

I go through all the steps to print out a shipping label when I am on the post office's website for click 'n ship, but the website won't communicate with my printer (when I am in firefox 4). So I switched back to Firefox 3 and have no problems.
This happened before in the beta version and I had to switch back to Firefox 3, so I was happy to switch again to Firefox 4 when the completed version came out, but the problem came up again and after all the steps were done to complete the shipping label and I hit the print label button, my printer connection window never popped up so that I could click on it to command my printer to print the label. I am a registered user of click 'n ship on www.usps.com

After waiting forever to talk to some jerk at USPS Click and Ship help, he told me it's an Adobe issue. I didn't ask why it just started happening, but I too just updated to Foxfire 4 recently, it must have something to do with it.
Open your Adobe reader... under programs...mine is called Adobe Reader X
Go to "Edit" in top left...click "Properties"...
    Uncheck "display PDF in browser",
Then restart your computer for it to take effect. I am so thankful it worked!

  • [9505] Your Post Office is Unavailable.

Recently migrated Groupwise 2012 services from a single box to a split system with PO, Domain, and Monitor on one box and the GWIA, Webaccess & secondary domain on the second box. All seems well, except *some* users (not all, only a handful) are receiving the following message when logging into webaccess:
[9505] Your Post Office is Unavailable. The Post Office Agent might not be configured for SOAP. Please contact your system administrator.
Checking the webaccess logs reveals the following error:
    8:11:43, <SOAP>, -, INFO, [username], Login
8:11:43, <SOAP>, -, INFO, [username], Unable to connect to the POA @ http://10.1.10.35:7191/soap
10.1.10.35 is the IP of the previous POA - the new POA is 10.1.10.135
SOAP appears to be configured properly and other users are not having any problems. Why just these users?
    Thanks!

IP is correct in the webacc.cfg file - though not sure why the last line is commented out. Again, only some users are affected.
    Provider.SOAP.1.ip=10.1.10.135
    Provider.SOAP.1.port=7191
    #Provider.SOAP.1.url=/soap
Checked the TID 7012354. There was no garbage character that I could see, but the Display Name in the General Options was entirely blank. I put the user's Display Name in the field and restarted Webaccess and that user can login now. Wow. Weird.
I then tried another user that was getting the same error - turns out that user's Display Name is blank as well (I didn't make any changes), but it didn't matter - they could log in to webaccess fine - so now wondering if restarting webaccess was all that was needed in the first place? It's not making much sense. Why is this only happening to a few users? Why do some users have a blank display name under those general options? I only enabled the POP3 & IMAP online settings for those specific users and then checked via their client for the Account settings. Looks to be a tough setting to verify for 2000+ users if it can only be accessed via the user's client login.
I went back and unchecked the POP3 & IMAP Online setting for those users and restarted webaccess... everything still appears ok. so just weird.
Will have to monitor for additional user complaints - otherwise, looks now.
    Thanks!

  • MTA shows "post office now closed/open"

    Hi,
after updating agents from 8.0.2 to 8.0.3 I have MTA showing "post office now closed" and right after it "post office now open" repeated with some interval, every half an hour approx. This happens on all 5 servers (NetWare 6.5 sp8) which were updated. The MTA log shows "MTP: vm-ods-ipS0: Unable to open connection 0x890F. Address 192.168.1.4, Port 7101". In POA web interface MTP Status Last Closure Reason = Protocol error.
It never happened in 8.0.2 version agents. Please advice, what's wrong with 8.0.3.

  • 2 gwia's 1 Post office

    Hello all:
Our ISP, Verizon Business, can be unreliable at times. The T1 circuit seems to go down during heavy rain storms, before heavy rain storms, and once every 3 months.
For fault tolerance, the plan is to add another gwia to our Post Office via another ISP . We are thinking that if the first line goes down, the MX record will point to the second gwia and we should be ok for email.
We are still on GW7.03. Are there any hicups to note with this setup? Any pointers (other than moving to Unix or GW8) to offer?
    Thanks

It depends... Is your current GWIA on "the inside" or directly connected to the internet?
if you are NAT'ing an outside address from your providers to the GWIA, there is not a direct need to add a second GIWA. Just make sure the outside IP of you second internet connections has a NAT for the SMTP port pointing to your GIWA.
Make sure they add the second ip record to the outside MX record of your mail exchange domain, and that should be set.
You can setup your GWIA to smart relay to more than one address. Just add the two outgoing addresses (a space to separate them) on the GWIA's outbound host. That should let the GWIA use the first one until if fails and then fall back to using the second one. (As found here : Novell Documentation)
One thing to watch could be the outside IP on your second internet line and if it matches the FQDN name your GWIA is reporting. If those two don't match up according to the internet DNS records, your mail might be dropped as it is seen as possible spam attempt. So I'd advise to give the failover a good test before counting on it fully working when needed.
    Cheers,
    Willem

  • Unable to validate post office database

I have a problem with one of my five post offices. I went to run a Validate Database task, and it errors out after a second and displays the following in a red text:
javax.ws.rs.WebApplicationException: javax.xml.bind.MarshalException - with linked exception: [java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused] (null)
Just tried this on one of my other post offices, and it is running just fine.
I was trying to figure out why we are having some issue with this post office/server.
    Server is OES 11 SP2 / SLES 11 SP3
post office is on an NSS volume
system was upgraded from 2012 to 2014 over a month ago.

That's normal, You can't get to the admin console on a server with just a post office. Looks like you are configured correctly. So for some reason, the domain's admin service is not communicating with the po admin service when you try to validate the po db. Look at this po's POA object in admin and see if the admin port is set. If it isn't then for some reason it did not get replicated to the domain.db.

  • WAN traffic generated by Remote Post Office?

Just started working for an organization with 2 remote offices, both holding a Groupwise Post Office (GW7 now but will be GW8 soon). In each case, there is no secondary domain for the remote Post Offices thus no MTA. The Post Offices are part of a domain back in the main office. I want to change this and place an MTA at each location, which will require that I create new Post Offices and then move the users over. I would like to know, in the meantime, whether there is any more or less bandwidth consumed by the current configuration without an MTA at the remote sites vs. what we would see with a proper secondary domain, MTA and POA. Any thoughts? Thanks.

    Hi Dave,
The first setting I change is on the central MTA:
    --tcpinbound
I set this to anywhere between 200 and 400 threads depending on how busy the MTA is. I find the default of 40 not good enough for having secondary domains on the other side of dodgy WAN links.
The second set of changes I make is on the remote MTA:
    --tcpwaitconnect
    --tcpwaitdata
depending on how bad the WAN connection is I've set these as high as 40 [seconds] in the past - understanding the the default is 5 seconds.
Without the above settings I found that the remote MTA could overrun my central MTA with half-open/closed connections rendering the central MTA unable to process any new connections and thus unable to process mail.
Hope that the above information is useful to somebody :)
    Cheers

  • How can I have multiple users on iTunes (in order to connect to a shared office iPad)?

How can I have multiple users on iTunes (in order to connect to a shared office iPad)? Currently each of us has our own iTunes account, so I've made an "all office" Apple ID. However, I can't seem to get two different accounts (my personal and the office) to work on my machine. Even when I login as "the office", my personal library is still showing. Additionally, when I try to setup with a first-time use in iTunes, I get an error that I don't meet the minimum age requirement - no matter what birthdate I enter!

The library exists regardless of which user is logged in.
The only way around that is to create different user accounts on the computer.
There is no way to have 20 unique iTunes users access a shared iTunes under a single login on the computer.

I built a new Server and added it to my PCSD Tree. The new server name is
GroupWise and has an IP Address of 10.10.0.13.
I followed the GroupWise 7 Installation Guide and installed GroupWise to
this server. At no point did I find any place to enter the GroupWise

  • Connecting wirelessly to a office copier/ printer

I am trying to connect wirelessly to the multifunction copier/ printer at work. I would like to be able to send files to my mailbox that is stored on the printer side of the machine. I am connected to my job's staff wireless internet. However, I have no idea where to even start... Please help!

    Hi!
A couple of things to figure out...
1.) Is the printer you're trying to access on the same network you're currently connected to in the office? Reason I ask, some offices have one subnet for WiFi and another subnet for Ethernet (for security reasons).
2.) If so, what type of printer is it? You may require printer drivers for that specific unit to be installed onto your computer.
3.) If so, what is the IP address of the printer? Does it support Bonjour network services?
You can connect to a printer over a network, typically by adding it via the default browser. The default browser is accessible via the "Add a Printer" dialog box which is selected within "Print & Fax" via System Preferences.
