Connecting Itunes music libary to stereo

I stream music from my Mac pro (and Ipad) via an apple-TV (via the TV) to my stereo.
In my quest to find a solution to avoid having my tv set powered up (and also my Mac pro or Ipad and not buying an AD etc.) a thought of the following (not ideaal) solution.
If I would connect my Ipod (cable) to my stereo would it be possible to control the libary of this Ipod via my pro, Iphone and or Ipad (remote app) and when it is playing closedown those ?
(ofcuorse this means that the Ipod is always powered up, downside but......)
Thanks in advance, Hans (Netherlands)

I use an Airport Express connected to my stereo to stream from any iTunes device in my home.
Or you could use AirPlay.

Double check to see that your "itunes music library.itl" (or "iTunes Library.itl") file or the folder it resides in (the ‘iTunes’ folder) is not read-only.
Using Windows Explorer, right-click on the file (or folder) name, go to Properties.
If it is read-only, then close iTunes, change it, and reopen iTunes.

I can't expand my Time capsule with an other airport to support wifi transfer itunes music to my stereo receiver.
I can see my time capsule in the airport configuration program, but not my airport. Not even when it is cabled.

On the side label find the model number.. A1084 for example is old. It will not work.
The new one A1392 and the earlier N wireless A1264 will both work.

  • I need help setting up airport express to play my Itunes music to my stereo

Hello I am hoping someone can help me as I am at a total loss here. I have had an airport express for a few years and would stream my music to my stereo without any problems. A few months ago it would cut out every now and again but soon it got so bad it was unlistenable. I reset it many times  but to no avail.
Now when I try to reset it by opening the airport utility it scans but does not find the airport express.
I bought a pluglink ethernet adapter and connected it to the Airport Express  hoping I can run it through that but when I open up the airport utility it scans but still will not recognize the airport express.
Is there some way to set this up .
I have an IMac which has the latest operating system.
Sincerely grateful for any help in this matter  Paul K.

Hello blakemj. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
For your described network configuration, you will want to reconfigure your 802.11n AirPort Express Base Station (AXn) as a "wireless client" to the Buffalo wireless router.
    Here's how ...
Either connect to the AX's wireless network or connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then using the AirPort Utility in "Manual Setup" mode, make the following changes:
(Note: As a third option, you can temporarily connect the AXn directly to an available LAN port on your Buffalo wireless router during setup, and then, place it at the desired location when complete.)
    AirPort > Base Station
o Base Station Name: <rename or leave default>
    o Base Station Password: <enter desired password>
    o Verify Password: <re-enter desired password>
o Remember this password in my keychain: (optional)
    o Set time automatically: (unchecked)
    AirPort > Wireless
o Wireless Mode: Join a wireless network
    o Network Name: <existing Buffalo's wireless network>
o Wireless Security: <select the encryption type of the existing wireless network>
o Wireless Password: <enter the existing wireless network password>
o Verify Password: <re-enter the existing wireless network password>
    Music
    o Enable AirTunes (checked)
o iTunes Speaker Name: <enter desired speaker name>
    o iTunes Speaker Password: (optional)
    o Verify Password: (optional)
o Click Update to write the new settings to the AX
    In iTunes:
    iTunes > Preferences... > Advanced > General
o Look for remote speakers connected with AirTunes (checked)

  • Streaming iTunes music to home stereo

Hi! I'm trying to stream my iTunes music to my home stereo receiver; doesn't have to be wireless, wired is fine. Here's the catch: I'm using NAS and two notebook computers...the iTunes music doesn't live on either notebook, only on the NAS drive. I want to be able to access the music without having to turn on a computer.
Is there a device that I can attach to my stereo receiver and the network that will let me access the music files from the NAS drive? Having a heckuva time with this, any input is most appreciated!

Sorry, I missed the bit about wanting to not use a computer.
    Try this -> http://www.slimdevices.com/pi_overview.html
You still need a server running but you don't use the computer to access it.

  • Connecting Itunes Music Library (ext. HD) in a new PC (new copy of Itunes)

Hello : My music library is stored in an external hard-drive. I just bought a new laptop and installed Itunes. Now, I am having tremendous problems connecting this new copy of Itunes to the library that exists in my external hard drive. Would appreciate any help ... thanks ...

You have posted in the ipod touch forum.
If you have failed to maintain a backup copy, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod:  File>Transfer Purchases

  • Itunes music libary view

When I want to view my itune library with the option of viewing the album artwork using the "cover flow view" option (from my computer, not the ipod), the different artist from the same album appear as if I have that album for each artist. Example "American Graffiti" has about twenty five artists, so now it looks as though I have twenty five American graffiti albums in my file. How can I consolidate the album to look like one album? PS I don't want to re-name all the artist the same name ie. "various artists" I know that works, but there must be a better way. Thanks

    Hi, mardawg.
The answer may be as easy as clicking on the Album column heading in your iTunes Library display to sort your songs by Album.
If that doesn't resolve matters, Ctrl-click all the tracks from the American Graffiti soundtrack > right-click > Get Info > confirm that you want to edit information for multiple items > change the entry for Compilation from No to Yes.
And while you're there, enter something along the lines of Original Soundtrack in the Album Artist field. (Note that this won't affect the different Artists that are listed for the individual tracks.)
Let us know if you find any combination of joy and/or satisfaction.

  • Certain albums in music libary won't sync from iTunes to iPhone 4s

Had an iphone 4 which worked perfectly. Phone decided to go for a swim and passed away.
Majority of apps, settings etc and music libary restored on an old iPhone 3S, but some music albums did not syncronice, majority synced without any problem.
Tried various hints like creating new playlists in itunes and syncing with phone without any success.
Put issue on hold pending arrival on new iPhone 4S.
    4S arrived and same issue.
The albums are purchased via iTunes.
Albums exist in iTunes music libary, can be played in iTunes on PC.
Have tried to remove all music from iPhone, and just selecting the albums which are a problem, and as well creating new playlists to be synced, without any success.
When sync is attempted an error message occurs on the phone, stating that there are problems syncing the number of tracks in question, and "check itunes from more information".
There are no information about any sync issues in itunes.
    Any ideas?

If these earlier songs were purchased with a different Apple ID, you might try on your phone going to Settings>Store>Apple ID, tap the ID shown, sign out, then sign back in using this earlier ID.  Do the same with iTunes on your computer (signing into the iTunes store with this earlier ID). For good measure, restart your computer and your phone, then try syncing the music to see if it will transfer now.  If it does, you can to back and reset your Apple IDs the way they were before.

  • Not All iTunes Music Showing up in iOS7 Music App

    Good Morning!
I am new to this forum and hope someone can help me resolve a frustrating problem.  I am a PC person (and was an Andriod person) who now uses a PC for my iTunes library but has two Apple TVs, a iPad mini and an iPhone 5S... I'm converting!
My problem is with iTunes and the "Music" app in iOS7.  I used to use Google Music when I had a Droid and all of my music did (and still does) automatically copy to Google when I add something to iTunes. I don't have to do a thing, all set up.
However, after buying my iPad mini and iPhone 5S I discovred the Music app does NOT have all of my iTunes library in it.  I use iCloud, I use iTunes Match (maybe my problem).  However, no matter what I do only about 1/3 of my iTunes music libary is available in the music app. I have thousands of songs. Perhaps a quarter were purchased on iTunes and the rest are CDs I ripped over time or purchased of MP3 files form Amazon, etc.
Of my perhaps 4,000 songs, I'm lucky if the Music app has 1,000.  If I have 4 albums by an artist, I may see two in the Music app, the other two remain only in iTunes. It doesn't seem to matter where I got the track from. Sure, I bet al the ones purchased from iTunes store are there (I don't keep a list of what was bought where) but there are also Amazon purchases, ripped files, Google Music purchases scattered in there too... it only is 1/4 of my library and frustrating.  I also have an album listed but only 1 or 2 songs are available in the Music app when the entire album is in iTunes.
I am smacking my head against the wall unsure of why in Earth iTunes is not loading my entire library so I can use it on all my iOS devices.  The devices are setup in iTunes.
I am, however, able to download a third party Google Music app on my iPad and iPhone and THERE I can see and listen to my entire library but just selections. That works great.
I WANT to use the iOS7 app to listen to all my iTunes music. I don't want to have to use a Google go around but I can't seem to solve the problem. I launch iTunes, it says it is running match and unless I bought a new track from iTunes, the rest of my library in the same place as the tracks it did sync remains ignored.
I know my library is large. Do I need to purchase addition space somewhere? If so, I am never prompted. Why it would sync one two tracks from am album that all came from the same source also baffles me.
Sorry this is long, I wanted to give as many details as I want.  I want all my music available under "Music"and to be able to ditch Google music but searching online gives few clues as to why only part of my library uploads to the Cloud.
    Any ideas?  Thanks!

    Heiko,
I had the same problem and noticed that the missing albums had been PhotoCast. Apparently these albums are not available for transfer to your iPod. When I Stopped Publishing the album, the problem was solved.
    I hope this helps, Jim
Not sure when exactly this happened but I guess with
    the installation of iTunes 6.04.
Some of the albums I've created in in iPhoto do not
show up in the iTunes iPod options.
I first noticed when trying to view photos on my iPod
that images that had been there before were no longer
    available.
Anybody else experiencing this? Any idea on how to
    fix this?
I've already tried to restore my iPod and delete the
iPod Cahe folder but that didn't help.
    Thanks,
    Heiko.

  • How can I find tracks in itunes Music Library that I have NOT copied to my

    HI,
I have more tracks in my iTunes music library than will fit on my iPod. for each track in my iTunes music libary I'd like to see whether or not that track is also on my iPod. I know I can do this track by track by looking up each track in the iPod directory but that could take months. What I want is to be able to filter or sort my iTunes music library by this attribute so I can visually scan down the list and see what I'd like to move over to the iPod (after making space on the iPod by deleting songs I'm tired of)
How can I do this and what version of iTunes is needed.
    thanks -- Dan

The .xml file is basically just a playlist of your entire Library. You can create one by going to your main Library List view and click File > Export.. - then just save a new .xml file to the desktop (or wherever).

  • I had itunes played from my PC to my music system that is connected through a nework.  It use to work fine, but now I get an error message that say "An error occured while connecting to the Airplay Device "Stereo".  An unknown error occured (-15000)".

When trying to play itunes from my PC to my stereo connected to an Airport Express, I gen an error that says "An error occured while connecting to the Airplay device "Stereo" an unknown error occured (-15000)".  This has happened before and for reasons unknown to me, the problem corrects itself, then it starts again/  Makes me wish I did not have my music on itunes.

moehadi, Welcome to the discussion area!
This is typically caused by a firewall or Internet security software running on your PC. Please read the comments in "Error -3256 or -15000 when streaming to AirPort Express base stations using iTunes".
Also there is "iTunes 8: Unknown error -15000 when attempting to stream music to devices connected to AirPort Express with AirTunes".

It sounds like you are trying to transfer music from your iPod to your computer.  I found an article with information on transferring media from your iPod to your computer:

  • Hello, I have Iphone 5 with Itunes music, airport express, 2 stereo speakers. What else do I need to hear music on the speakers?

Hello, I have Iphone 5 with Itunes music, airport express, 2 stereo speakers. What else do I need to hear music on the speakers?

    Hello ricsch,
It sounds like you want to setup your Airport Express to Airplay music from your iPhone 5.  I found an article with steps to help you get this setup:
Connecting to an existing Wi-Fi network, exclusively for iTunes music
AirPort Express used exclusively for AirPlay by setting it up in Client Mode.
Choose this configuration if the computer containing your iTunes library may be out of direct range of the AirPort Express, but is within range of the Wi-Fi network.
    How to Set It Up
Connect your AirPort Express to your home stereo or powered speakers.
From your computer, join the wireless network. Use the AirPort status menu in the menu bar on a Mac. On a Windows-based computer, hold the pointer over the wireless connection icon until you see your AirPort network name (SSID), and choose it from the list if there are multiple networks available. Enter the network password, if necessary.
Open iTunes on your computer and choose the AirPort Express(es) you wish to stream music through from the speakers pop-up menu in the lower-right corner of the iTunes window.
I also recommend reviewing the sections titled "Some things you should know about AirPort Express with AirPlay" and "Things to consider before you begin" in the full article:
