Connecting Java Application with Microsoft Word Toolbar

My project involves designing a GUI with which I will use Java for. And I also have to create a Microsoft Word Toolbar that will open the Java GUI. There will be other interactions between both the GUI and the toolbar.
Is that possible? Or shall I use Visual Basic or .NET for the GUI?

Do a google search for JDBC, or go buy a book.
You will need a JDBC driver which supports your database. Or you might be able to use the JDBC-ODBC bridge if there's an ODBC driver for your database.

Normally, if you are executing the client from the command line, you do not specify the classpath in a XML file (unless you are using ant or something similar). You can specify the classpath by using the -classpath option.
Try something like
java -classpath <path_to_jboss>/client/jbossall-client.jar;Betting_server.jar BettingServer
You can check the classpath in your client with the statement
System.out.print(System.getProperty("java.class.path"));

Lost Firefox replaced with Microsoft Word when updating Firefox

I was offered a chance to update Firefox - it said update now or later. Stupidly I said now and since then I have problems. My start button has lost the internet connection and has been replaced with Microsoft Word. I cannot get my old bookmarks and Firefox back and it has all been replaced with Microsoft Word which I hate. Please help.

Does this mean it only works for pages etc... or do i have to activate it somehow? If it is only for pages then this ***** and should be better advertised!!!

Hmmm ... I see the font in my Font Book and in Suitcase Fusion, but it doesn't appear on the list of fonts in either Word for Mac or Text Edit, no matter what I tried. I attempted quitting all applications, cleaning the cache using Suitcase Fusion, and rebooting the computer, but no dice.
You think this is an installation or configuration problem my local Apple store could help fix ... not an underlying incompatibility? If so, I will take it in.

New JAVA application with data from SAP CRM and R/3

Hi All,
We have a requirement to create a new application which will have CRM BP Master data and D&B Data from R/3 and based on authorization different roles be able to edit some of the fields and workflows to confirm the new data .Once users edit the fields in the application the new data will be replicated back into BP Master Data in CRM.
In our company we are using CRM 7.0 and R/3 4.7 system if we decided to create the application using JAVA can you please let me know the architecture(servers etc) we might need because of the JAVA application.

Yosemite compatibility with microsoft word 2008

I had held off on upgrading to Mavericks because of the issues surrounding the compatibility with Microsoft Word 2008. I am a student and need to use Word to do my work as well as having all of my current documents, including my thesis, in 2008 format. I don't want to risk losing the information or the ability to do my work and I was wondering if there is any information about whether the issue of compatibility with this version had been fixed. I don't have the means to buy a new version of Microsoft but would very much like to be able to update my system since I am still using Mountain Lion.

There has been a better and free alternative to old versions of MS Word and MS Office since forever. Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1 is the latest version of a free and complete All-In-One document processor, spreadsheet, drawing, presentation, database, & formula software, found here: http://www.openoffice.org
It also reads, writes and translates MS Word, saves in many formats, and is pretty easy to use. It's entirely modern and compatible with all the latest Mac operating systems. Good luck.

I had too many of these that I had to convert to a modern format. It isn't easy or consistent but one of these normally works:
1. Open up Word and use the File/Open command rather than just double clicking on the file. Why does this sometimes work? I don't know! Save in docx format.
2. Try opening the files in Office 2010 on a Windows machine. Again, immediately save as a docx file. This works more often than the advice above.
3. Download the free LibreOffice and try opening it there. There will be some format problems but easily fixed. Once again, save in docx format.
4. Breakdown and look for a dedicated format converter.

How do I send my pages attachment so that it will open for those with Microsoft Word?

Pages does not run on Windows.
Word cannot open a Pages file.
If you want someone without pages to be able to open your attachment, you will have to send it in a format openable on the recipient's computer.
If the recipient needs only to read the document, the most universal format is pdf. To send a pdf copy of your file, press command-P to open the Print dialogue, then click the PDF button and choose email PDF. This will open a new message in your default email client and attach the pdf file to that message.
If the recipient needs to be able to edit/change your document, and has MS Word, then either Save a copy as a Word file or go File > Export and choose Word as the file format for the export.
Be aware that MS Word does not support all features of Pages (and vice versa), and that formatting of the document may be affected by font substitution if you use fonts that are not available on the recipient's machine.

This laptop has original Microsoft word & excel provided by Mac when purchased and is legal copy.
Do I understand you bought a Mac and it came with Microsoft Office? I could be wrong, but I wasn't aware that was an option. Or am I not parsing that sentence correctly and you bought a Mac and bought a legal copy of Office to install on it? In which case, never mind.

Once you have the document how you want it, select Export from the File menu. Click on Word at the top of the dialog box that pops up, and click Next. Then it will bring up a standard save dialog and when you click Save it will save a Word document.
