Connecting to Access DB from Dreamweaver

Hi:
I am trying to connect to an Access db using Microsoft Access
with Unicode from Dreamweaver and getting a popup dialog box that
displays, "The following error has occured while connection to the
ColfFusion server: Permission denied for the requested operation"
Is this a security issue or a folder permission issue? Can't seem
to get through it without this message. WIndows XP, Dreamweaver CS3
and ColdFusion 8.
Thanks
Henry

I have the same problem. Still looking for a solution. I am
able to connect to the database and get work done. It is just the
dang pop up error each time I go to test a cfm from
dreamweaver.

  • Cannot connect to an Access database from DreamWeaver

    Hello.
I'm creating my first web page with a DB connection.
I have a minimal DB with a simple table.
This is a DB as Access create it by default, with no password
    and no
    security constraints.
In DreamWeaver, I have created a default DB connection string
    for Access
    2000.
I have removed, from this connection string, the UserID and
    the Password as
there is no password for my DB.
I have put the right path for this DB.
    But it doesn't work!
I receive the message: (sorry for my bad english) cannot open
    the DB, it is
already open by another user (it is not the case: the DB is
    closed) or you
must have autorisation to visualised the data.
Do you have an idea ?
    Alain.

I'm not an expert in file permissions so I have simply moved
    my DB on the
HDD of my PC, before it was on another server.
So, now, I think I have no file permission problem anymore.
I can connect the DB from DreamWeaver but I cannot see the
    tables !
If I open the Tables node of the db tree in the Database
    window of
    DreamWeaver, I receive the message:
    "Error calling GetTables".
Do you have an idea or an advice ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Alain.

  • Connection to Access DB using Dreamweaver CS3 and GoDaddy

I'm taking a Dreamweaver class right now. It tells me to
setup an Access database on my server. On GoDaddy I set up a DSN on
    my Databases area for Access.
I go to dreamweaver, open an .asp page and in the database
panel I press the "+" sign and chose a connection name. My book
says chose the radio button "using DSN and testing server" and
everything I tried there doesn't do anything. I have been able to
get the database to load using "using local DSN", but then I can't
"view data" or see the page online.
Depending on what I try.. and I've been trying like crazy.. I
    get the following errors:
HTTP Error Code 400 Bad Request
    and
error 80004005 - datea source name not found and no default
driver specified. (which I have gone to my control
panel/administration tools and followed the instructions for added
    a system DSN.
Since my book wants me to the "testing server" vs. "local
server" from the Database panel, I would like to get that to work.
Any suggestions? It shouldn't be this hard, should it?
    Thanks,
    Pam

  • Data Model damaged, Cannot connect to Access 2013 from within Excel 2013

    Hello,
Recently I am not able to use PowerPivot for Excel 2013 and I cannot connect to my Access 2013 database tables from within Excel 2013. Whenever I try to click on a slicer in my Excel worksheet, it gives me the following error: "Excel was unable to load
a necessary component. This component might have been damaged or deleted. Reinstall the client software or data source driver software for your database."
I am using Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2013 on Windows 7, 64-bit version. I have tried reinstalling Microsoft SQL Compact Edition 2005 and reinstalling Office 2013. I have run out of ideas and am a loss what to do next ?
Can anyone help point in the right direction for a possible solution to this problem ???
    Would appreciate all help.
    Thank you.

    Hi all ,
There is a requirement to connect Microsoft ACCESS Database from SAP XI System. To achieve such scenario first basis needs to deploy the required vendors Database Driver on SAP XI System.
So Please tell me what drivers need to deply for Microsoft ACCESS DB Drivers on XI System , to achieve such scenario.
I am following  a document whose name  is How To Configure External Drivers for the JDBC & JMS Adapters.
MY PI System is PI 7.0 and on Windows Server 2003 standard x64 Edition.

    PS

    Hi,
What’s the error message you got? It seems that you haven’t install the correct driver for access the .xlsx file. Please download and install 2007 Office System Driver: Data Connectivity Components from below link to check the issue again:
    http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/confirmation.aspx?id=23734
Besides, to change a .xlsx file to .xls file, we should open the .xlsx file, then click ‘Save As’ button under File pane, and then select the appropriate location and ‘Excel 97-2003 Woekbook(*.xls)’ as type for the file. Then we directly use the new .xls
file as the source in SSIS.

I upgraded from Dreamweaver CS4 to CS6. but now when I want to upload I get "an TFP error occured - cannot make connection to host". I spent hours with the host technician and we cant find the error. I reinstalled DW4 and it connects to host perfectly. Anyone else seen this problem?
    Mac OS 10.8.5
None of these issues are causing the error in DW CS6. We have double checked all of them and we have everything exactly right. Also I have exactly the same SiteSetup in DW CS4 and that works perfectly well. Could there must be factor in 6 that didn't exist in 4? Something that isnt in the SiteSetup but in some hidden dialog box ?
I can also upload to my host using Fetch, a third party FTP. And as I said DW CS4 works fine. So the problem is not with my host, its with DW CS6 in particular.

Thank you Jon, that fixed it perfectly. You have saved me from going crazy. The only difference I see now is in "Server Name" it changed what I had entered (my ftp address) to "Remote Server"; which seems odd -- but it works!   Although I know there maybe also some other dialog box I have never seen
Of course I saw that menu item "Import"  and but I thought thats obviously not for me: "Why would I want to import an entire website?". I did not however see "Export the selected site" for thats only a tiny icon in the footer. However I would have thought the same:  "Why would I want to export my entire website?".
An observation: I've seen this problem in a lot of Adobe software, the menu-names of items are  obscure, non descriptive. What would be better would be for the menu names or popups to say "Export Site Setup settings" and "Import Site Setup settings"

OK.  Did you really mean to ask this question on a ColdFusion forum, if it's DreamWeaver you're having problems with?  You're probably better off raising this on a DreamWeaver forum.  "Using the correct tool for the job" 'n'all.

Yes, that option should be deselected as it only pertains to when both routers are interconnected by wireless. Since you have a roaming network, they of course, would be interconnected by Ethernet.
The other important settings for a roaming network are:
Each router must have a unique station name. For the AirPort, this would be called its Base Station Name. I believe the default station name for Linksys routers is: linksys
Each router must broadcast a wireless network with an identical Network Name. For the Linksys, Network Name is the same as its SSID.
Each router wireless network must use the same Wireless Security type and password. The Linksys WRT-54G is capable of up to WPA2 Personal. If you have it set to this level of security, the AirPort should be at the same setting.
Make sure that each router is not on the same Radio Channel for the 2.4 GHz radio. In the US, there are basically only three non-overlapping channels: 1, 6, or 11. Set each so that they don't use the same channel but use of those three choices.

  • Accessing the HDD connected in the aTV from laptop

    Hi,
Sorry if this is anwsered somewhere already, I've been looking for an answer and nothing comes up... I currently have a old Boxee Box at home and I'm thinking of replacing it with an Apple TV 3rd Gen. Right now, I'm using the Boxee Box as a NAS. I have an External HDD connected to it, and I can access the drive from the Boxee Box IP address.
Can I do the same thing with the aTV? I would connect the external HDD to the aTV, access it from my Macbook and make my iTunes library on it,
    Thanks!

Oh there is no USB port to it? I mean, I thought I could've plugged the HDD in one of the USB ports of the AppleTV, then access the drive with the AppleTV IP address.

Just had to ask, do you know the difference between hard drive and CD/DVD drive?  Don't get angry, read this.
You said " I know the old drive .......... is working as i can put discs in and they load up.When i click on the old drive-F drive- in file explorer 'Please insert disc' message pops up.'
All that implies a CD/DVD drive. You can not put a disc into a hard drive.

Having trouble selecting from a table function

    Hi,
    Using a joiin:

;You could also compute week_nbr in the main query, rather than the sub-query.

    FROM       connect_by_query
    ORDER BY  lvl
;Notice that the sub-query connect_by_query is the same in both cases.

  • Problem of security using ADO from Labview to connect to Access 2000 Data Base

I have a problem using ADO from Labview to connect to Access 2000 Data Base.
First I open a ADO_DB_Engine and create a Workspace as an ODBCDirect. After I execute the open_data_base using the workspace. Here you can specify the parameter connect with /type of connection / user / password.
    The problem is the following:
Although you configure a password for the Administrator user in Access, you can read/writte to data base from Labview using ADO without any security and without putting the user and password in the parameter connect. I need to access with security to data base using users and permissions but it seems that the parameter connect does not operate.
    I attach
you a example of the vis and database. Remember create a ODBC connect with BD3.mdb
    Thanks a lot

    Hi Kahn,
If you use ADODB_connection -> Connection.Open and set in connection string :
    "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Jet OLEDBystem Database=c:\.....\Protegida5.mdw; Password=pepe;user ID=jose; Data Source:c:\......\BD5.mdb";
    and after connection.execute ->
    INSERT INTO tabla1 VALUES (5,'XXX'
you will be able to access to the database with security using the provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0. With this provider you have to use the path and the name of the database file c:\.....\mdb file. From this way the problem is solved. (SEE SAMPLE_ADO_W2_JET.VI).
BD5.mdb have the following administrator user: user:jose / passwordepe (Protegida5.mdw)
The problem is when you want to
use ODBC and DSN. The name of this ODBC Provider is MSDASQL;. If you use this type of connection you can not enter to the database I attach you.
This database has a new administrator owner. I deleted the default administrator. If you support the default administrator you can connect to database by ODBC / DSN but the security disappear because you can always enter to database with any password, user o PC.
FINALLY I HAVE 3 QUESTIONS FOR Application Engineers of National Instruments or someone who knows these subjects before deciding the best way to connect locally o remotely with security to Access from Labview:
1.- Is it possible to enter to Database BD5.mdb from ODBC and DSN with this owner?
2.- I want to connect remotely to Access database too. Is it possible to use Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 using the path (.mdb file) without DSN?
    3. Which is the optimal Provider for Microsoft Access?
I thank you beforehand for your technical support.
